Services for Alva Shaw Eggers, 72, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Max Hagood officiating, with burial in Emeus Cemetery.

Mr. Eggers died Tuesday, Nov. 6 at his residence. He was born May 17, 1929 in Boone, N.C. to Roy and Maude South Eggers. He was a carpenter and was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Camp Eggers of Cullman; two sons, Michael Eggers of Orange County, Calif. and Kenneth Eggers of Mobile; two daughters, Julie Hughes of Bakersfield, Calif. and Robyn (Damon) Jarrett of Cullman; and three grandchildren.
Visitation was Wednesday.
Mary Holcomb Green
Services for Mary Holcomb Green, 88, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2001 at Hanceville Funeral Home, the Revs. Frank Butts and Arnold Kilgore officiating, with burial in South Cemetery in Blountsville.

Mrs Green died Tuesday, Nov. 6 at her residence. She was a homemaker, and had been going to Hanceville Senior Center for more than 20 years. She received recognition from Cullman County Volunteer Services.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Green ; a son, Harold Green ; a daughter, Geanette; three grandchildren, Stacy, Margie and James; and two stepchildren, Vernon and Teresa.
Survivors include two sons, Joe (June) Green and Tommy (Jill) Green, both of Hanceville; four daughters, Frances (Garvie) Bennefield and Sue Baker, both of Hanceville, Bonnie (Junior) Sams of Cullman and Jean (Bob) Clover of Birmingham; 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Fred Holcombe of Indianapolis, Ind.; two sisters, Elwyn (Ell) Peebles and Clara Jayger, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Green of Hanceville; and special friends, Hilyard Quick and Buddy Boyd, both of Hanceville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jenny Loree Swann Nicholson
Services for Jenny Loree Swann Nicholson, 30, of Gordo will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001 at Northside Church of Christ, Dewey Sims and Thomas Jacobs officiating, with burial in Garden City Cemetery

Mrs Nicholson died Sunday, Nov. 4 in Gordo. She was born in Hartselle on April 26, 1971 to Elwin O. and Betty Moore Swann. She was an assistant manager at McDonalds Restaurant.
Survivors include her husband, Eric Nicholson of Gordo; her father, Elwin (Doris) Swann Sr. of Hanceville; her mother, Betty (Dean) McClung of Leighton; a daughter, Jaycey Nicholson of Gordo; a sister, Tracy (Jimmy) Looney of Hanceville; a brother, Oneal (Rhonda) Swann; her grandfather, Bill Moore of Adamsville; her step-grandfather, Maurice Williams of Itaska, Texas; seven nieces and nephews, Kassie Looney, Dustin Swann, Kallie Looney, Kyle Smith, Kody and Kolby Smith, Treaunna Nicholson and Brandon Nicholson; a goddaughter, Jasmine Falls; mother- and father-in-law, Betty and Raymond Nicholson of Gordo; sisters-in-law, Lynn and Kris Nicholson of Gordo; and a brother-in-law, Rayford (Jackie) Nicholson of Gordo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Arlin Lee Ballew of Cullman; two sons, Bob Ballew, H.A. “Bill” Ballew, both of Cullman; three daughters, Myrtle Lee White of Holly Pond, Martha Jo Brown, Betty Ann Helms both of Cullman; two brothers, Andy Lynn of Cullman, Leldon Lynn of Sheffield; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Catherine ‘Kitty’ A. Fritchman
Services for Catherine “Kitty” A. Fritchman, 84, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of Cullman, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at Grace Episcopal Church with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Fritchman died Friday, Nov. 2 in San Antonio. She was born on June 22, 1917.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Fritchman.
Survivors include son, Paul (Gerry) Atkins; sister Cindy (Edwin) Myers; niece, Elizabeth Husson; and three grandchildren, Michael Atkins, Melissa Atkins and Sandra Atkins.
Memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Todd died Friday, Nov. 2, at Woodland Medical Center. She was born on April 16, 1924 to R.E. Smith and Bannie Hornsby. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Todd; four daughters, Judy Todd, Betty Roberts, Irene Roberson, Shirley Bruce; three brothers, James Smith, Ben Smith, J.D. Smith; three sisters, Velma Todd, Nellie McGriff and Elizabeth Burns; 10 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Bland died Saturday, Nov. 3 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born in Hanceville on May 24, 1915 to Carl Sr. and Dora Giles Nuss. She was a homemaker and a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Floyd Bland; five brothers, Ray Nuss, Roy Nuss, Oscar Nuss, Everett Nuss, Paul Nuss; and two sisters, Lena Webb, Ezma Whitaker.
Survivors include four sons, James Bland of Birmingham, Neal Bland of Ashville, N.C., Paul Bland of Montgomery, Ronald Bland of Scottsboro; two daughters, Jane Sue Byram of Woodstock, Ga., Nancy Denise Cupps of Adamsville; sister, Evelyn Johnson of Hanceville; brother, Carl Nuss Jr. of Hanceville; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mary Weisse Hinckley Hasenbein
Services for Mary Weisse Hinckley Hasenbein, 80, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m .Monday, Nov. 5, 2001 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fr. Kevin McGrath officiating, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Mrs. Hasenbein died Thursday, Nov. 1 at Cullman Health Care. She was born in Muncie, Ind. on Aug. 28, 1921 to William J. and Kathrine Schmitt Weisse. She was a homemaker. She was active in the Sacred Heart Alter Society, National Council of Catholic Women, Girl Scouts, American Red Cross and the Community Concert Association. She also volunteered at the Cullman library and was a poll worker during elections.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George T. Hinckley; and second husband, Joseph R. Hasenbein.
Survivors include two sons, George Christopher Hinckley of Dothan, Joseph Patrick Hinckley of Boca Raton, Fla.; daughter, Mary Frances Mathew of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today with a rosary service at 7:30.
