Betty Jean Jones
Services for Betty Jean Jones, 50, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Greg Cain and George Sawyer officiating, with burial at Cullman Heritage Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones died Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Carraway Methodist Medical Center. She was born in Morgan County, Georgia on Nov. 5, 1950 to John Robert and Doris Davis Stovall. She was owner of Service Seed Brokerage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Guy Bill Stovall.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Ned Jones of Cullman; two sons, Dennis (Tracie) Jones of Kimberly, Matthew Jones of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughter, Cindy (Greg) Cain of Hartselle; two brothers, J.T. (Gloria) Stoval of Eaton, Ga., Dwayne (Jan) Stovall of Hull, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Grace Nicole Cain, Hope Daniel Cain and Jonathan Samuel Jones.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Paul Freeman Norris
Services for Paul Freeman Norris, 71, of Warrior will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001 at Center Grove Baptist Church, Dale Norris officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Norris died Friday, Oct. 26 at Carraway Methodist Medical Center. He was born Dec. 5, 1929 in Cullman County to Alsie Freeman and Betty Pattillo Norris.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Jewel Jones Norris of Warrior; two sons, Allen Norris of Washington and Dale (Trisha) Norris of Vandenberg Air Force Base, California; a brother, Dovard (Opie) Norris of Cullman; three sisters, Evelyn Montgomery of Washington, Oleana Kelly of Warrior and Zell (Euless) Smith of Cullman; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Audrey Mae McSwain
Services for Audrey Mae McSwain, 63, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. McSwain died Monday, Oct. 29 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1938 in Cullman to Alton “Coot” and MayBell Guthrie Johnson. She was a machinist at Americold.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sheila Whatley; and her brother, Bodie Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Brice K. McSwain of Cullman; a son, Kenneth (Pat) McSwain of Cullman; two daughters, Frances (Garry) Derrick of Cullman and Tammy (Brian) Thompson of Front Royal, Va.; four brothers, Tommy Johnson, James Johnson, Joe Johnson and Danny Johnson, all of Cullman; two sisters, Opal Johnson and Hassie McCroy, both of Cullman; and six grandchildren, Jeremy McSwain, Wesley McSwain, Ryan Derrick and Zachary Derrick, all of Cullman, Ashley Hessom and Kristy Hessom, both of Virginia.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Services for Bobby Joe Duffie, 64, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Frs. John O’Donnell and Kevin McGrath officiating, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery in Hanceville.

Mr. Duffie died Monday, Oct. 29 at his residence. He was born in Hanceville on Nov. 28, 1936. He was a master sergeant (air defense artilleryman) in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Teddy Duffie; and his brother, Jack Elwin Duffie.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Duffie of Hanceville; his mother, Lottie G. Duffie of Hanceville; a son, Bobby Joe (Kim) Duffie Jr. of Hanceville; three daughters, Sylvia (Dennis) Edmondson and Ollie (Donald) Trussell both of Hanceville; Lottie (Tim) Nuss of Austin, Texas; a brother, Doyle Duffie of Hanceville; a foster son, Pete (Margaret) Contreras of Hanceville; eight sisters, Gladys Talley of Cullman, Dorothy Nail of Hanceville, Billy Sue Smelcer of Dandridge, Tenn., Betty Miller of Hayden, Shirley Walker of Bradenton, Fla., Barbara Lipps, Carol Hanner and Judy Joiner, all of Arab; and 12 grandchildren, Sabine Duffie, Frazier Edmondson, Shauni Nuss, Sara S. Duffie, Ryan Duffie, J.L. Duffie, Mariah Duffie Celine Duffie, Luke Duffie, Amanda Nuss, P.J. Contreras and Wesley Contreras.

Graveside services for Pearl I. McKee, 93, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2001 at Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery, the Rev. Dennis Trimble officiating.

Mrs. McKee died Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Woodland Village Health Care. She was born in Cullman County on Aug. 2, 1908 to McDuff and Georgeann Corley McKee. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include three nephews, Evon (Bonnie) McKee of Trussville, Gene (Janell) McKee of Baton Rouge, La., Jerry (Lolly) McKee of Tupelo, Miss.; and a niece, Nell Jackson of Ft. Worth, Texas.
Visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Services for Lowell Brown Keller, 70, of Biloxi, Miss., formerly of Cullman will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2001 at Howard Ave. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, with burial with full military honors in the Biloxi National Cemetery.

Mr. Keller died Saturday, Oct. 27 at his residence in Biloxi, Miss. He was born in Cullman on Feb. 16, 1931. He was a graduate of Eva High School. He served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force including tours of duty in Korea and Viet Nam, and retired in 1976 as an instructor supervisor in electronic principles. He then worked for H & R Block, Inc. before taking a position in Saudi Arabia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W.B. and Charlotte Keller; four brothers, A.B. Aubery, T.K. and Virgil Eugene; three sisters, Margie, Jane and Vernel; and one nephew, Leon Keller.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Strahan Keller; a great-niece, Tanya Miller of Biloxi, Miss.; two sons, Lowell Daniel Keller of Fayetteville, Ark. and Richard William Keller of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a daughter, Donna S. Ramsey of Coweta, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations may be made to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, Miss. 39745.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Billie Mae Bates
Services for Billie Mae Bates, 73, of Cullman were Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001 at Moss Service Chapel, Mason Harris and Mike Waters officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Bates died Monday, Oct. 29 at her residence. She was born March 3, 1928 to Elsberry and Bertha Vickery Guthery. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Helen Wix; and two brothers, Mark and Conrad Guthery.
Survivors include her husband, John T. “Thad” Bates; and four sisters, Faye Morris, Lorene Nixon, Ruth Harbison and Sue Eady.
Visitation was Tuesday.
