Services for William Gene Jones, 60, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at Springhill Baptist Church, Frank Wood officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Jones died Saturday, Jan. 19 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Macon, Ga., on March 13, 1941 to Alvin Aarron and Leola Williamson Jones. He was an insurance agent for Mutual Savings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cecil Jones, Albert Jones; and one sister, Agnes Cummins.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Sue Chandler Jones of Cullman; two sons, Gregory (Susan) Jones of Huntsville, Alan (LeeLee) Jones of Cullman; daughter, Kim (Paul) Scaglione of North Carolina; two brothers, Robert (Jean) Jones, Elwin (Betty) Jones both of Cullman; one sister, Anne Doris Vance of Cullman; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Eunice Corene Akin
Services for Eunice Corene Akin, 77, of Falkville were Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Revs. Terry Blankenship and Jimmy Legg officiating, with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Mrs. Akin died Saturday, Jan. 19 at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born July 8, 1924 in Georgia to William Henry and Meddie Yarbrough Waldrop. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harvey Waldrop, Dewey Waldrop and Henry Waldrop; a great-grandchild, Skylar Yates; and her former husband, Elmer Akin.
Survivors include two daughters, Janice (Sherman) Smith of Fairview and Carolyn (Coy) Rascoe of Decatur; special friend, Carry Bryant; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Sunday.

Carlos Daril Tolbert
Services for Carlos Daril Tolbert, 59, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002 at Hopewell Baptist Church, Trueman Davis officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.
Hanceville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tolbert died Sunday, Jan. 20 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 14, 1943 in Cullman. He was a branch operations manager and a member of the National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carlos Tolbert.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Tolbert of Hanceville; his mother, Wilma Tolbert of Hanceville; two sons, Blake Tolbert of Charlottesville, Va. and Jeff Tolbert of Florence; two sisters, Deborah (Richard) Murphy of Grantsboro, N.C. and Julia (Mike) Taylor of Athens; a brother-in-law, Bobby Hestla of Hanceville; a sister-in-law, Johnnie Hestla of Hanceville; four nieces; and three nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
William ‘Bill’ Olinger
Services for William “Bill” Olinger, 72, of Blountsville were Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at Daviston Baptist Church in Section, the Rev. Randy Hampton officiating, with burial in Gross Cemetery in Scottsboro.

Mr. Olinger died Saturday, Jan. 19 at his residence. He was born March 3, 1929 in Jackson County to James J. and Lula Dunn Olinger. He was a retired truck driver and a member of Daviston Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Turner Olinger of Blountsville; two sons, William Thomas Olinger of Cullman and Kenneth Sanders of Boaz; a daughter, Alicia Cox of Fallin, Nev.; two sisters, Ina Presley of Anniston and Violet Robbins of Section; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gene Mayo, Billy Smith, Andy Sanders, Marcellis Norwood, Odis Cisco and Drew Robbins.

Gaynell Ballard Williams
Services for Gaynell Ballard Williams, 74, of Birmingham were Monday, Jan. 21, 2002 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Williams died Thursday, Jan. 17. She was a graduate of Cullman High School and Wheeler Business College in Birmingham. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Center Point in Birmingham.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jack S. Williams; a daughter, Belinda (Randy) Walker of Trussville; a son, James “Buzz” (Carol) Williams of Birmingham; and three grandchildren, Chad, Blake and Jordan Williams.
Milton Bradford
Services for Milton Bradford, 80, of Cleburne, Texas were Friday, Jan. 18, 2002 at Field Street Baptist Church, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Bradford died Tuesday, Jan. 15. He was born Sept. 7, 1921 in Cullman to Samuel Abraham and Minnie Eva Hinkle Bradford. He was a U.S. veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church where he was an ordained deacon.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Norma Jean Shipp Bradford; two sons, Gary (Sue) Bradford of Besemer City, N.C. and Ricky (Deleen) Bradford of Ozark, Ark.; a daughter, Janet (Gary) Prater of Burleson, Texas; two brothers, Lowell Bradford and Lewis Bradford, both of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Verda Arrington of Sterling Heights, Mich. and Mabel Richardson of Cullman; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Elva Joyce Gunn
Graveside services for Elva Joyce Gunn, 76, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002 at Walnut Grove Cemetery of Franklin County, Tenn., Johnathan Clark officiating.

Mrs. Gunn died Monday, Jan. 21 at her residence. She was born May 18, 1925 in Huntsville. She was a school teacher and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse L. and Elva Sartain Griner.
Survivors include a son, Charles Thomas Gunn of Crane Hill; a daughter, Brenda Lee Gunn of Nashville, Tenn.; a half-brother, William “Bill” Gunn of Dothan; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Bailey died Monday, Jan. 21 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Sept. 17, 1913 in Cullman County to William Oran and Josie Lee Johnson Bailey. He was a home builder and a member of Sonny Brown’s Sunday School Class at Seventh Street Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Tip Bailey, Eual Bailey and Dual Bailey; and three sisters, Lily Keeton, Eunice Butler and Willodean Bailey.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Johnson Bailey of Cullman; three daughters, Beverly Denney of Cullman and Connie (Roy) Ridgeway and Jennie (Charles) Adams, both of Decatur; four brothers, Jady Bailey, Claude Bailey, Carlton Bailey and Sanford Bailey, all of Cullman; a stepbrother, Price Robertson of Cullman; a sister, Edna Johns of Cullman; six grandchildren, David Denney, Micki Denney Peevy, Chris Denney, Scott Ridgeway, Andrea Adams Castleberry and Kevin Adams; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Mr. Wright died Tuesday, Jan. 22 at his residence. He was born Feb. 11, 1916 in Cullman County to John Marion and Cynthia Jane Howse Wright. He was in construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bessie Lora Wilkins Wright of Cullman; two sons, Larry Joe (Renee) Wright and Terry Van (June) Wright, both of Cullman; a daughter, Glenda A. (Jay) Quattlebaum of Hanceville; two sisters, Lera Gay Waddell of Florence and Wilma Gray Shaposka of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandsons, Joe Wright, Steve Wright and Daniel Wright; two granddaughters, Connie Quattlebaum Dutton and Jennifer Wright; three great-grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

Katherine Lillar Boatright

Survivors include three granddaughters, Lisa Jenkins and Belinda Smith, both of Cullman and Colette Huber of Athens; five great-grandchildren, Kagan Huber of Athens, Mariah Jenkins, Cierra Jenkins, Colten Smith and Breaunah Smith, all of Cullman; and two sisters.
