Services for William Wilford Barnett, 73, of Dawson, Ga., will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 at Williams-McCracken Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Dennis Trimble officiating, with burial in Ebenzer Cemetery.

Mr. Barnett died Friday, Feb. 22 in Albany, Ga. He was born Jan. 1, 1929 to James Frances and Lena Elizabeth Clark Barnett. He was a retired sewing machine mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rachel Smith; and one brother, Maurice Barnett.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Barnett of Dawson Ga.; two sons, Harold D. Barnett of Falkville, Kenneth D. Barnett of Maryland; one daughter, Linda K. Rimbenieks of Ohio; three brothers, Eugene Barnett, W.L. Barnett, Hubert Barnett all of Cullman; five sisters, Ruby Nichols, Ethelene King, Glenice Tankersley, Rilla Quick, Pauline Porter all of Cullman; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Myrtice Clark Scott
Services for Myrtice Clark Scott, 91, of Holly Pond will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002 at Pleasant View Baptist Church, the Rev. Randy Burtram officiating, with burial in Holly Pond Cemetery. The body will lie in state an hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Scott died Saturday, Feb. 23 at Cullman Long Term Care. She was born in Cullman County on Nov. 25, 1910 to John Thomas and Myrilzia Elizabeth Shultz Clark. She was a homemaker and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubry Scott; and four sisters, Velma Clark, Elva Garrison, Alene Scott, Ida Mae Clark.
Survivors include one brother, Ralph Simms of Cullman; and two sisters, Dula Parrish of Holly Pond, Ruth Schull of Cullman.
Deacons of Pleasant View Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to noon today.
David Von Hill
Services for David Von Hill, 59, of Eva will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2002 at Peck Funeral Home Chapel, the Revs. Rayford Hanvey and Fred Nichols officiating, with burial in Eva Cemetery.

Mr. Hill died Friday, Feb. 22 at his residence. He was born in Morgan County on July 12, 1942 to Gilbert W. and Irene Alford Hill. He was a machine operator at Cullman Cabinet and was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Margie Hill Anderson.
Survivors include his mother; wife, Donna West Hill of Eva; two sons, Jonathan Hill, Aaron Hill both of Hamptonville, N.C.; one daughter, Sharon Hill Duncan of Hamptonville, N.C.; two step-daughters, Sonja Frost Duke of Cullman, Lisa Frost Chunn of Hartselle; three brothers, Carl Hill of Falkville, Paul Gene Hill, Joe Hill both of Eva; three sisters, Dean Hill Stevens of Snellville, Ga., Eulene Hill Hutchins, Sandra Hill Roberts both of Eva; one grandchild; and three step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Pat Hill, Terry Hutchins, James Robert Lee, Donual Barnett, Leroy Holcomb, Chris Stephens.

Donald H. Britt
Services for Donald H. Britt, 46, of Blountsville will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002 at Blountsville Funeral Home Chapel, Daryl Holt, Kenny Bright, Johnny Wilson officiating, with burial in Rock Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Britt died Friday, Feb. 22 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Oneonta, the son of Max and Thelma Holder Britt. He attended J.B. Pennington High School, owned a cabinet making shop and attended The Lighthouse church in Blountsville.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Britt of Blountsville; his parents; and a sister, Kay Newman of Blountsville.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.
Phyllis Dianne Ball

Mrs. Ball died Saturday, Feb. 23 at her residence. She was born Feb. 16, 1951 in Attalla to Jiles Odean and Nellie Kelley Hammett. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Jeremy Ray Ball.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond J. Ball Jr.; three daughters, Angela Smith and Donna Ball, both of Houston, and Jennifer Crow of Moreland; a special daughter-in-law, Tracee Ball; two brothers, Jimmy Hammett of Etowah County and Donald Hammett of Houston; two sisters, Mildred McDaniel and Pat Evans, both of Etowah County; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. New died Sunday, Feb. 24 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born April 6, 1929 in Arab to Eldred and Dixie Nolan Ward. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Christie New; seven brothers, Ottis Ward, Robert Ward, Wess Ward, Charlie Ward, John Ward, Walter Ward, Willie Ward; and seven sisters, Christine New, Frances Anderton, Elowese Harvell, Annie Hyatt, Minnie Tullis, Leona Dover and Myra Covey.
Survivors include her husband, Nathanial Junior New of Logan; a son, Ronald N. (Pam) New of Hartselle; a daughter, Myra Carol (James) Twitty of Hanceville; four grandchildren, Dixie Richter, Myra Waddell, Shane New and Lindsey New; seven step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Murphree died Tuesday, Feb. 26 at his residence. He was born Feb. 20, 1914 in Alabama to Albert and Matie Andrews Murphree. He was a radio disc jockey and a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Skipper Murphree of Cullman; a son, Mike (Sheila) Murphree; and two grandsons, Jason (Sharon) Murphree and Joshua (Crystal) Murphree.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. today for family and from 6 to 9 p.m. today for friends.

Mr. Messersmith died Tuesday, Feb. 26 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1920 to Herbert J. and Adeline Dahlke Messersmith.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Warnke Messersmith; a son, Henry (Joan) Messersmith Jr. of Cullman; two daughters, Esther (Joe) Hellmich of Orange Beach and Carol (Jerry) Alldredge of Decatur; three brothers, Edgar (Bobbie) Messersmith, Martin (Doris) Messersmith and Albert (Esther) Messersmith, all of Cullman; a sister, Clara (Roland) Polster of Tennessee; four grandchildren, Austin Riley Alldredge, Paul Edward (Sherri) Messersmith, Jenny Messersmith (Mark) Wachter and Adrienne Marie Alldredge; and three sisters-in-law, Addie Messersmith, Margo Messersmith and Mary Graveman.

Mrs. O’Bar died Sunday, Feb. 24. She was born Dec. 28, 1918 in Morgan County to John and Della Pearl Maner Lee. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Hartselle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Millard H. O’Bar.
Survivors include two nephews; and five nieces.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
Edna Neomia Maze
Services for Edna Neomia Maze, 97, of Vinemont, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002 at Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Christopher Clyde Shaw
Christopher Clyde Shaw, 49, of Arcadia, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002.
Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home of Arcadia, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Shaw was born May 2, 1952 in Troy, Ohio. He was a graduate of Coral Park High School of Miami, Fla. and a member of the Methodist faith. Mr. Shaw was a clerical worker for the telephone company.
Survivors include his father, Kenneth Shaw; his stepmother, Ozelle Shaw; two brothers, Thad Shaw of Highaleigha, Fla. and Kurt (Sheryl) Shaw of Davie, Fla.; a niece, Emily Shaw; and a nephew, Andrew Shaw.
Services are being planned for Sunday, March 17, in Waynesfield, Ohio.
