Mary Ruth Whitaker Weeks

Services for Mary Ruth Whitaker Weeks, 77, of Hanceville were Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Center Hill Baptist Church, the Revs. Bobby Crawford, Wayne Nuss and Hobert Thomas officiating, with burial in Center Hill Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She died Thursday, Feb. 28 at Baptist Medical Center Princeton. She was born in Cullman on Nov. 10, 1924 to C.T. and Bell Waldon Lambert. She was the owner and operator of Center Hill Store.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, V.C. Lambert; and her husband, Guy Whitaker.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Center Hill Baptist Church.

Jackie Marion ‘Happy Jack’ Greer
Jackie Marion “Happy Jack” Greer, 58, of Falkville died Sunday, March 3, 2002 at his residence. He was born Aug. 25, 1943. He was an artist. No services are planned.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Greer.

Survivors include two sons, Brian Patrick Greer of Cullman and Stark Anthony Greer of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a daughter, Bonnie Suzette McMinn of Vinemont; his mother, Ruth Hasenbein of Cullman; a brother, Randy (Patti) Hasenbein of Vinemont; four grandsons; two daughters-in-law, Paige Harrison of Cullman and Tena Phillips Greer of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and a son-in-law, Kip McMinn of Vinemont.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to favorite charity.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Daniel Edward Kinney Jr.

Services for Daniel Edward Kinney Jr., 92, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fr. John O’Donnell officiating, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kinney died Sunday, March 3 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born March 31, 1909 to Daniel Sr. and Agnus Marshall Kinney. He was a diesel mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Kinney; and a sister, Margaret Grabber.

Survivors include his wife, Cecelia Schaefers Kinney; three sisters, Anne Peterson of Hanceville, Mary Monroe of Florida and Katherine Morgan of Cullman; and six brothers, Thomas John Kinney, Archie Kinney and Patrick Kinney, all of Hanceville, Michel Kinney of Scottsboro, Gabriel Kinney of Leesburg, Fla., and Anthony Kinney of Cullman.

Visitation was Monday.

Frances Quinn.

Graveside services for Frances Quinn, 92, of Crane Hill will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Bowman Chapel Cemetery, Glenn Posey officiating.

Mosss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Quinn died Sunday, March 3 at Woodland Village Health Care. She was born May 28, 1921 to Melton and Flora Holt Callicott. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Quinn; two sons, Terry (Debbie) quinn and Sonny (Pat) Quinn; a brother, Joe Callicott; two sisters, Ruth Laughlin and Jera Ingle; and four grandchildren, Steven Quinn, Jessica Quinn, Kevin Quinn and Brandie Quinn.

Visitation was Monday.

William Virgil Abbott

Services for William Virgil Abbott, 74, of Vinemont will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Billy Abbott and Mike Milligan officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Abbott died Sunday, March 3 at his residence. He was born April 17, 1927 in Arkansas to Arthur Oliver and Lena Laney Abbott. He was a small engine mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, William Joseph Abbott; three brothers, Cecil Abbott, J.C. Abbott and Ray Abbott; and two sisters, Nellie Heaton and Juanita Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Berlie P. Lindsey Abbott of Vinemont; a son, Thomas (Joyce) Abbott of Jones Chapel; a daughter, Marsha (John) Fedelem of Gainesville, Fla.; two brothers, Arnold (Eloise) Abbott of Jones Chapel and Harley Abbott of Cullman; a sister, Barbara Lindsey of Vinemont; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Monday.

Trixie Inez Kelly Caudle

Services for Trixie Inez Kelly Caudle, 86, of Baileyton will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, the Rev. Steve McCurry officiating, with burial in Bethel Methodist Cemetery in Morgan County.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Caudle died Saturday, March 2 at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Aug. 18, 1915 in Morgan County to Lon and Nina Scott Kelly. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Noel Caudle.

Survivors include a son, Edward (Sue) Caudle of Decatur; a daughter, Betty (Robert) Kress of Cullman; two sisters, Tressie Miller of Cullman and Dean (Walter) Lee of Hartselle; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation was Monday.

Hulen Conrad Reid

Services for Hulen Conrad Reid, 75, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Revs. Ray Lathem and Larry Pruitt officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Reid died Saturday, March 2 at Carraway Medical Center. He was born Dec. 16, 1926 in Cullman County to George and Callie Hornsby Reid. He was a welder.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Willie Beatrice Reid.

Survivors include a son, Donnie Wayne Reid; a daughter, Joyce Bishop; a daughter-in-law, Vicie Reid; a son-in-law, Greg Bishop; and two grandsons, Seth Key and Devin Paterson, all of Cullman.

Visitation was Monday.

Carl Edward Wilson

Services for Carl Edward Wilson, 85, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Trueman Davis and Winford Haynes officiating, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wilson died Saturday, March 2 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Kentucky on March 28, 1916 to Elmer and Nervia Wilson. He was a retired worker of Lodge and Shipleys for 43 years in Cincinnati. He was a 40-year member of the Masons, worked for Wal-Mart for five years and was involved in lawn care and security work.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Carl Edward Wilson Jr.; two brothers, Earl Wilson, Houston Wilson; and two sisters, Bonnie Hardrick, Georgia Hegemon.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Haynes Wilson of Hanceville; two sons, Jimmy (Connie) Wilson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Harrold (Nancy) Shell of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter, Patty Adams of Cincinnati; sister, Zelma Dammron of Hanceville; three brothers, Homer (Donna) Wilson of Amhurst, Ohio, Jim (Brenda) Wilson of Tateville, Ky., Ray Lee (Virginia) Wilson of Kansas City, Kan.; and 13 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hopewell Baptist Church.

Visitation was Monday.

Glenn Washington Davis

Services for Glenn Washington Davis, 63, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Fairview West Baptist Church, the Revs. Barry Gardner and Marvin Bryan officiating, with burial in Fairview West Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Davis died Saturday, March 2 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born July 31, 1938 in Cullman to William Nathan and Dovie Estus Hann Davis. He was a bus driver for Greyhound and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a Shriner, a member of the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge No. 757 in Birmingham where he held the position of Passmaster, and of Fairview West Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Davis of Hanceville; two sons, Daniel Joseph (Sherry Rose) Davis and Glenn Nathan (Regina) Davis, both of Hanceville; a sister, Ida (Elmer) Amburgey of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; four brothers, Bob (Evalene) Davis of Garden City, Jerry (Judith) Davis of Birmingham, Raymond (Betty) Davis and Tom Davis, both of Blountsville; and three grandchildren, Amy Linke and Jordan Davis of Hanceville and Michael Dynes of Atlanta, Ga.

Visitation was Monday.

Mable Othell Crowe

Services for Mable Othell Crowe, 77, of Decatur were Monday, March 4, 2002 at Roswell Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Blount County, the Rev. Melvin Brown officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Peck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Crowe died Saturday, March 2 at Parkway Medical Center. She was born July 4, 1924 to Starling Jackson and Hattie Murphree Hopkins in Blount County.

She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Robert Lee Crowe; and a son, John Timothy Crowe.

Survivors include five sons, Bobby Crowe, Charles W. Crowe, Larry J. Crowe, Ricky L. Crowe, Gregory D. Crowe, all of Somerville; six daughters, Frances Crowe Brown, Brenda Crowe Pettey, Rita Crowe Smith, Patty Crowe Adams, Lazelle Crowe Smith, Karen Crowe Motes, all of Somerville; a sister, Velma Mount Haney of Arab; 30 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Johnson, Rusty Johnson, Lee Crowe, Wayne Crowe, Steven Crowe, Michael Smith, Johnathon Smith and Jerry Adams II.

Visitation was Sunday.

Philip Wafray Wilson

Services for Philip Wafray Wilson, 57, of Addison will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Friendship Baptist Church in the Upshaw Community, Glenn Wood, Junior Rogers and Randy Sellers officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Wilson died Saturday, March 2 at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wafray and Lena Grace Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Delanie “Dee Dee” Wilson of Addison; a son, Mark Philip Wilson of Addison; a stepson, John Sharp of Hillsboro; a daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Nuss of Addison; a stepdaughter, Leasa Quiles of Hampton, Ga.; seven step-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Cleghorn of Arley.

Visitation was Monday.
