Services for Hubert Amos Bates, 74, of Crane Hill will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Tim Aris and Roy Crawford officiating, with burial in Prospect Church of Christ Cemetery.

Mr. Bates died Wednesday, March 6 at his residence. He was born in Cullman on Aug. 8, 1927 to L.E. and Sally Wilcutt Bates. He was a member of the U.S. Army and worked as a mill wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Novaleene Neismith Bates of Crane Hill; son, Frank V. Bates of Crane Hill; daughter, Alice Marie Bates of Vance; two sisters, Naomi Medlock of Fairview, Agnes Roberts of Cullman; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Mary Agnes LaRussa
Services for Mary Agnes LaRussa, 82, of Birmingham will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2002 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. LaRussa died Tuesday, March 5. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Lopey” LaRussa.
Survivors include her son, Frank B. (Nan) LaRussa of Cullman; a daughter, Catherine L. (Kenneth) Smitherman of Bessemer; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillie Rumore of Homewood.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today, with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Glen Jetton
Services for Glen Jetton, 82, of Baileyton will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002 at Mt. Olive FCM Church, the Rev. Charles Dixon officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Jetton died Thursday, March 7 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 5, 1919 in Cullman County to Jasper Edward and Beatrice Sanders Jetton. He was a truck driver, a member of Mt. Olive FCM Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Readie Jetton, Horace Jetton, Clarence Jetton and Thurman Jetton; and three sisters, Icle Stewart, Venus Corbitt and Unice Makerson.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria Camp Jetton of Baileyton; a son, Wayne (Ruth) Jetton of Cullman; a daughter, Brenda (Harold) Widener of Jefferson County; four grandchildren, Robin Johnson, David Widener, Terrie Wallace and Anita Cato; and seven great-grandchildren, Jessica Graham, Marisa Goodwin, Latasha Goodwin, Candace Freeman, Stephen Widener, Michael Goodwin and Nicholas Widener.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Services for Ezra Ray Duke, 66, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Jerrol Smith officiating, with burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Duke died Wednesday, March 6 at Baptist Medical Center -Montclair. He was born on Oct. 30, 1935 in Hanceville to Elbert and Radar Duke. He was an assemblyman for GM Motors in Flint, Mich., and a member of UAW 598 Local for 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a half-sister, Kathleen Davis; and a brother, Roy Duke.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Rhonda) Duke of Linden, Mich. and Tommy Duke of Hanceville; two daughters, Sheri (Dennis) Eads of Flint, Mich. and Mishell (Tim) Rowe of Fenton, Mich.; a brother, Fred (Wanda) Duke of Hanceville; a sister, Imogene Jackson of Welti; a half-brother, James (Betty) Price of Hanceville; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Luther, Arthur, Ernest and Ofel Calvert; and four sisters, Ethel Smith, Clercy Smith, Hattie Garner and Velsie Allred.
Survivors include a brother, Herald “Babe” Calvert.

Survivors include two sons, Donald (Becky) Bartlett and Michael (Charlotte) Bartlett, both of Baileyton; two daughters, Sarah (J.C.) Rusk and Nancy (Dainward) Carroll, all of Baileyton; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his father of Holly Pond; and two sisters, Linda Akers of Ft. Worth, Texas, Brenda Butts of Holly Pond.
