Services for Walter C. Fromhold, 73, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Cullman, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2002 at Sacred Heart Church, Fr. Kevin McGrath, OSB officiating, with burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Fromhold died Saturday, March 9 at Veterans Hospital in Tuscaloosa. He was born Jan. 28, 1929. He was a disabled World War II veteran and passed away after a lengthy convalesce at the hospital.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hughs-White of Birmingham and Jeanette Tucker of Cullman.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today with a rosary service at 7:30 at Moss Service Chapel.
Mary Elizabeth Moore
Services for Mary Elizabeth Moore, 84, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002 at Bethel Methodist Church, the Revs. Mack Buttram and Dale Moore officiating. The body will lie in state an hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Moore died Friday, March 8 at Woodland Village Health Care. She was born in Ripley, Tenn. on July 14, 1917 to Gus Thomas and Maggie Lott Gracy. She was a long-time member of Fairview Methodist, Bethel Methodist and St. Andrews Methodist churches. She was employed by Stiefelmeyers, Fairview School, Liberty National Insurance and was a Tupperware manager.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Malcomb Vann Moore Sr. for whom she cared for for 23 years; two brothers, G.T. Gracy, Montelle Gracy; and two sisters, Florence Moody and Irene Glass.
Survivors include one son, Malcomb Vann (Helen) Moore Jr. of Cullman; daughter, Barbara (Don) Scott of Cullman; five grandchildren, Richard Moore, Sheila Piper, Felica Alldridge, Donovan Scott, Jonathan Scott; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Spurgeon Keith Vann
Services for Spurgeon Keith Vann, 88, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002 at Williams-McCracken Chapel with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Mr. Vann died Saturday, March 9 at his residence. He was born in Albertville on Feb. 14, 1914 to John Franklin and Flora Bynum Vann. He retired as manager of Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school, was a Sunday school superintendent and choir member. He was a member of the Rotary Club and served for 20 years on the Cullman County Draft Board and Cullman City Personnel Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Allen Kim Vann; and four brothers, Clyde Vann, James Vann, Robert Vann and Sibert Vann.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara “Wynelle” Reid Vann; two sons, Lowell (Mira) Vann of Birmingham, John (Sandra) Vann of Panama City, Fla.; two daughters, Judy Vann (Gene) Wilhite of Tuscaloosa, Jane (James Merrill) Hetherington of Cullman; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

Beatrice Dollie Mitchell

Mrs. Mitchell died Saturday, March 9 at Marshall Medical Center North in Guntersville. She was born in Blount County to Jim and Fannie Haney Wallace. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Milton Mitchell.
Survivors include two sons, LeRoy (Gayle) Mitchell of Albertville, Mac (Doris) Mitchell of Arab; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Juanita Horton Hulsey

Mrs. Hulsey died Saturday, March 9 at the Hospice Bethany House in Auburn. She was born in DeKalb County on May 2, 1921 to Hobson “Hop” and Luna Ray Horton. She taught school at Sylvania, Plainview and Fort Payne. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery and was an active member of the Baraca Sunday School Class, Training Union and the Mary Weatherly Study Group. She was a lifetime member of Landmarks of DeKalb County, a hospital volunteer, Desoto Square Dance Club and V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry B. Hulsey of Fort Payne; son, Richard Horton (Cheryl) Hulsey of Valley; grandson, Richard Horton (Kim) Hulsey Jr. of Water Valley, Miss.; brother, William Ray Horton of Fort Payne; two sisters-in-law, Mabel Hulsey, Nolla Hulsey; one niece, Betty Glenn; six nephews, Jim Kirby, Bobby Horton, Pat Horton, Delane Hulsey, Don Hulsey, Larry Hulsey; two aunts, Ollie Ray Guest, Tress Horton Kuykendall; nine cousins, Carolyn Dalton, Kay Kinard, Margaret Thacker, Maurice Guest, Winford Ray, Naomi Higdon, Joan Watwood, Dot Henley, James Arthur Ray.

Mrs. Haymon died Sunday, March 10 at her residence. She was born on Aug. 12, 1939 to Fred and Lula Brooks West. She was a sewing machine mechanic at the Old Sew-N-Sew Shoppe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, A.Q. West.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby J. Haymon of Cullman; two sons, Terry (Lisa) Haymon of Brazoria, Texas and Perry (Elizabeth) Haymon of Mobile; a daughter, Pamela (Oscar “Sonny”) Bradford of Trimble; a brother, Dwight West of Costa Rica; a sister, Martha (Paul) Bradford of Cullman; eight grandchildren, Tara Bradford, Katrina Haymon, Tammy Bradford, Dean Haymon, Ben Haymon, Matt Haymon, Brianna Haymon and Patrick Haymon; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Couch, Charles Ferrell, James “Jabo” West, Curtis West, Rabon Haymon, Ray Haymon, Mike Chambers, Dwight West.

Raymond E. Yost

Mr. Yost died Saturday, March 9 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born May 16, 1907 to Frank and Mary Yester Yost. He was a retail businessman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Gladys Yost.
Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Yost; four granddaughters, Kelli Bradford of Hartselle, Joy Ferrell and Jennifer Wood of Birmingham and Kara Channell of Madison; nine great-grandchildren, Bryan Bradford, Britany Ferrell, Andrew Bradford, Blayne Ferrell, Chandler Bradford, Alex Channell, Zak Channell, Anna Wood and Jack Channell; and two sisters, Gladys Branning of Guntersville and Eleanor Amerine of Phoenix, Ariz.

Thelma King McKinney
Services for Thelma King McKinney, 90, of Lexington, Tenn., formerly of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at Center Grove Baptist Church, Jerry Hall officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. McKinney died Monday, March 11 at Lexington Manor Nursing Home in Tennessee. She was born Feb. 13, 1912 to Baxter and Bessie Oden. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husbands Clyde King and Harven McKinney.
Survivors include two sons, Hagan (Montey) King of State College, Penn. and Cletus King of Mobile; a daughter, Freda (Dick) White of Lexington, Tenn.; a sister, Sadie Collins of Cullman; six grandchildren; six grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Mr. Fontenot died Thursday, March 7 at his residence. He was born Jan. 7, 1944 in Eunice, La. to Areial and Mae Cozwell Fontenot. He was the owner of a pizza parlor and a veteran of the Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence Michael Fontenot and Todd Fontenot; three brothers, Will Fontenot, Ferrell Fontenot and Coz Fontenot; two sisters, Jennie Hernandez and Sybil Iseral; and two grandchildren.

Bob Higginbotham
Services for Bob Higginbotham, 91, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2002 at First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Phil Young and Bob Murray officiating, with burial in the city cemetery.

Mr. Higginbotham died Sunday, March 10 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 28, 1910 in Cullman to George M. and Minnie Elledge Higginbotham. He was a veteran of the Army, a volunteer for Cullman Hospital and a member of First United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 400 in Hanceville, Cullman Lodge No. 421, Elk Lodge No. 1609, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disable Veterans of America, and the American Legion Post No. 4. He was a retired Cullman city police officer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Ival Gartman.
Survivors include his wife, De Ette M. Murphee Higginbotham; a sister, Willie Bell Hill of Jasper; four nieces; and six nephews.
Visitation was Monday.
