Elsa Elizabeth Kempson Eddins
Graveside services for Elsa Elizabeth Kempson Eddins, 85, of Brentwood, Tenn., formerly of Cullman, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April. 2, 2002 at Cullman City Cemetery.

Mrs. Eddins died Thursday, March 28 in Brentwood, Tenn. She was born in Cullman on Sept. 1, 1916 to G. Claude and Mittylene Hughes Kempson. She lived here more than 80 years and was a first-grade teacher in the Cullman City School System. She was a member of Cullman First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was active in the women’s organizations. She was also an active member of Brentwood United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Wesley Forum Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, WFMH founder Benjamin Carroll Eddins; and two brothers, C. George Kempson, Sim G. Kempson.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Evelyn Eddins (Clark P.) Jones of Brentwood, Tenn.; brother-in-law, John O. Eddins of Birmingham; grandson, C. Powell (Pattie A. ) Jones Jr., of Westborough, Mass.; granddaughter, Meredith Elizabeth Jones (John E.) O’Brien of Brentwood, Tenn.; and four great-grandchildren, Kyle Elizabeth and Erin Nicole Jones of Westborough, Mass., John Eddins and Megan Elizabeth O’Brien of Brentwood, Tenn.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Cullman Organ Fund.
Missouri Elizabeth Duke
Services for Missouri Elizabeth Duke, 85, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, the Rev. James Abbott officiating, with burial in Valley Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Duke died Saturday, March 30 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Sept. 17, 1916. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernice Duke; and a son, Raymond Duke.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence (Ann) Baker of Hanceville, Charles (Brenda) Duke of Cullman; two daughters, Charlaine (Alvin) Sullivan of Pinson, Ruby (Cranford) Woods of Cullman; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Mary Hutson Freeman
Services for Mary Hutson Freeman, 92, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Bobby Joe Calvert and Jack Freeman officiating, with burial in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Freeman died Saturday, March 30 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born in Etowah County on Nov. 12, 1909 to Allen Holman and Ida Fowler Faulkner. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Doyle Hutson; daughter, Lois Chandler; and her first husband, Clifford A. Hutson.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Earnest Freeman of Cullman; two sons, Carl (Bobbie) Hutson of Cullman, Wendell (Janice) Hutson of Oklahoma; two daughters, Dorothy (Vendel) Peresleny of Virginia, Edith (Bobby Joe) Calvert of Cullman; brother, Arthur (JoAnn) Faulkner of Illinois; 11 step-children, Doris Kent, Johnie Freeman, Ray Freeman, Gerald Freeman, Terrell Freeman, Jack Freeman, Jimmy Freeman, Emmitt Freeman, Ethel Tuggle, Edna Bavar, Carolyn Adamson; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 36 step-grandchildren; 58 step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Powell died Friday, March 29 in Morgan County. She was born in Blount County on April 28, 1918 to Dave and Mendy Nichols Mitchell. She worked in the health care industry and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Finn Powell; and son, Quinton Powell.
Survivors include four grandson, Wesley, Kenneth, Kieth and Chad Powell; and nieces, Judy Duskin and Lucille “Lucy” Duskin Jones.
Audrey Della King

Mrs. King died Friday, March 29 at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born in Morgan County on Dec. 19, 1928 to Aaron and Rosie Hopper Buckelew. She was a member of Holy Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two sons, Stevie King, William King both of Hartselle; two daughters, Vickie Key of Hartselle, Lisa Belmont of Danville; two brothers, Marvin Buckelew, Travis Buckelew both of Cullman; and four sisters, Merle Buckelew, Eunice Buckelew, Evon Buckelew, Eloise Buckelew all of Cullman.
Pallbearers will be Wilburn Blackwood, Vaughn Key, Timmy Watts and Jacob Watts.
Ollie Mae Minor Owens

Mrs. Owens died Thursday, March 28 at Decatur General Hospital. She was born in Winston County on Oct. 2, 1903 to George Thomas and Frances Ellen Hampton Minor. She was a member of Gandy’s Cove United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bazz Owens; and three son, Calvin Kell Owens, Vernon Howell Owens, Athel Murl Owens.
Survivors include her son, Clinton Owens of Hartselle; four daughters, Elgin Murphree French, Dual Owens McNalley, Frances Owens Green well all of Decatur, Clovis Owens Alford of Falkville; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and six step-great-great-grandchildren.

Kayron Dawn Meadows Grobe
Services for Kayron Dawn Meadows Grobe, 31, of Fort Payne will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2002 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Bobby Walton officiating, with burial in Mt. View Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Grobe died Friday, March 29. A native of DeKalb County, she was the daughter of Wayne and Dianna Everett Meadows. She attended Faith Baptist Church of Fort Payne where she served as the drama team director. She was a steel detailer, a 1989 graduate of Fr. Payne High School and attended the University of Alabama at Huntsville.
Survivors include her husband, Mark Grobe; her parents; brother, J. Scott (Mary Elizabeth) Meadows; and grandmothers, Esther Meadows, Ophelia Everett all of Fort Payne

Raymond E. Hinkle
Services for Raymond E. Hinkle, 81, of Cullman were Friday, March 29, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, Russ Fox officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Mr. Hinkle died Tuesday, March 26 at his residence. He was born Aug. 2, 1920, to Burl and Geniva Tillman Hinkle. He was a security guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Floyd Hinkle, Avery Hinkle and Billy Joe Hinkle; and a sister, Lorene Bright Hafer.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie M. Hudson Hinkle; three sons, Charles Hinkle, Gene Hinkle and Keith Hinkle; a daughter, Darlene Horsley; four sisters, Kathleen Garner, Estelle Gay, Corlene Oden and Martha Nell Green ; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Missouri Elizabeth Duke

Ruth Eleanor Hoffman
Services for Ruth Eleanor Hoffman, 87, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Father Kevin McGrath officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Miller died Sunday, March 31 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born March 19, 1915 in St. Louis to Carl Conrad Muldner and Beulah Nace Muldner. She was a field supervisor for the U.S. Dept. of Commerce. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society and a volunteer for United Way and VITA. She won numerous awards for her volunteer work. She was also one of the first four people to receive the bronze medal from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George H. Hoffman; a son, Jim Hoffman; a brother, Carl Muldner; and a granddaughter, Jeanne Marie Hoffman.
Survivors include a son, Gregg (Betty) Hoffman of Cullman; two daughters, Elaine (Dwight) Stancil of Cullman and Janet (Clifton) Brown of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Michael Hoffman of California, John Hoffman of Colorado, Mindy (Shannon) Cleghorn and Yvonne Stancil of Cullman, Aaron (Crickett) Hoffman, Andy Hoffman and Adam Hoffman, all of Huntsville, and Jessica Brown of North Carolina; seven great-grandchildren, Spencer Hale, Grayson Webster, Megan Cleghorn, Joalien Hoffman, Brittany Hoffman, Timothy Hoffman and Christian Craig; eight step-grandchildren, Jim Clos, Joe (Jennifer) Clos, Joyce (Bobby) Sellers, John (Lori) Clos, Nate Clos, Jeffrey Clos, Cassie Clos and Emma Clos.

Judy Ann Miller
Services for Judy Ann Miller, 51, of Decatur will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at Welcome Baptist Church, with burial in Welcome Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller died Saturday, March 30 at Decatur General Hospital. She was born in Arab on Sept. 17, 1950.
Survivors include her husband, John Fuller of Decatur; a daughter, Angelia Maria Bowen of Falkville; three brothers, Billy Ray Waldrop of Hanceville, Tommy Waldrop of West Point and Tony Waldrop of Cullman; two sisters, Marie Waldrop and Sue Waldrop, both of California; and stepmother, Lillie Waldrop of Cullman.
Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Waldrop, Frankie South, James Linley, Joseph Robinson, Michael Robinson, and Johnny Robinson.
