She died June 14 at her home. She was born Jan. 4, 1907, the daughter of Nathan and Bertha Belle Vincent Smith. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a daughter, Jewell Roper; daughter-in-law, Irene Williams; son, William Euell “Buddy” Williams; a sister, Wynelle Golden; a brother, Nathan Smith Jr.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today.
Ramona Nichols Jones
Services for Ramona Nichols Jones, 73, of Cullman will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2002, at Moss Service Chapel, Glenn Parkin offciating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

She died June 15 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She taught school in Huntsville City and Anniston City school systems and taught in and retired from Muscle Shoals City Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vondell and Opie Shirey Nichols.
Survivors include her husband, Max R. Jones of Cullman; a son, Jeff (Liz) Jones of Birmingham; a daughter, Janet (Andy) Latham of Athens; a sister, Karl Marie Ables of Geraldine; six grandchildren, Emily, Eleanor, Elizabeth and Jeffrey Jones and Holly and Laura Radford.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Services for Nellie J. Jones, 80, of Vinemont will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2002, graveside at Forrest Home Methodist Church Cemetery in Boaz, the Rev. Wilbur Dunn officiating.

She died June 14 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born April 20, 1922, the daughter of James Ollie and Gerturde Hubbard Dunn. She was a housewife and a member of West Point Baptist Church. She had lived in Cullman County 38 years.
She is survived by her former husband, J. Paul Jones of Crane Hill; three sons, John W. Jones of Northport, Dwight W. Jones of Anchorage, Alaska, and Troy N. Jones of Pelham; a daughter, Rebecca A. Green of Hinton, West.Va.; a brother, Jurinor Dunn of Boaz; a sister, Catherine Stout of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Visitation was Saturday.
Griffin Moore
Services for Griffin Moore, 75, of Cullman were at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, John Freeman officiating, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Mr. Moore died Wednesday, June 12 at Woodland Village Health Care. He was born July 17, 1926. He was a supervisor with Royster Fertilizer Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Docia Glover Moore; and his wife, Jackie Moore.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Glenda) Moore and and Mark (Ginger) Moore; a daughter, Donna (Delbert) Pittman; four grandchildren, Crissy Bush, Stephanie Maner, Miranda Moore and Monica Moore; and a great-grandchild, Jordan Maner.
Visitation was Friday.
Lessie Mae Grant
Services for Lessie Mae Grant, 82, of Baileyton will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2002, at Bethel Methodist Church, Milford Hayes and Dean Estes officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

She died June 14 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 31, 1919 in Morgan County. She was an active member of Eva Nutrition Site and a member of Daniels Chapel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus Dillard Holcomb and Eller Elizabeth Durham Holcomb; and her husband, Henry Lee Grant.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Wanda) Grant of Woodstock, Ga., and Norman (Janice) Grant of Baileyton; two daughters, Evelyn Howell of Baileyton and Shelby (Roger) Lawrence of Sommerville; a brother, R.A. “Pete” Holcomb of Holly Pond; a sister, Lucy Jenkins of Odenville; grandchildren Austin Howell, Rob Grant, Stephen Grant, Jessica Grant, Michael Turner, Kevin Grant, Paula Grant, Sandy Lawrence and Ashley Lawrence.

Services for Robert E. Mayhall, 68, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2002, graveside at Vinemont Baptist Cemetery.

He died June 14 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham. He was born Aug. 27, 1933. He was a retired construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his father, Odie Jack Mayhall.
Survivors include his mother, Velma Nora Wilkes of St. Louis; wife, Violet King Mayhall of Vinemont; two sons, Robert E. Mayhall Jr. of St. Louis and Bobby Odie Mayhall of Tuscaloosa; a stepson, David Valencia of Florida; five daughters, Brenda Linze of Blue Springs, Mo., Sharon Tchorz and Rebecca Black of Vinemont, Robin Neely of Cullman and Beth Mayhall of Moulton; a stepdaughter, Linda Sue Jones of St. Louis; three brothers, Ferrell Mayhall, Edward Mayhall and Sherril “Buddy” Mayhall, all of St. Louis; three sisters, Barbara Summers, Shirley Day and Sue Larkins, all of St. Louis; 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Mary Harris Jackson St. John
Graveside services for Mary Harris Jackson St. John, 92, of Mountain Brook will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2002 at Cullman City Cemetery.
Mrs. St. John died Thursday, June 13. She was born March 7, 1910 to Hogan and and Mozelle Harris Jackson. She graduated from Ward-Belmont College in 1929 and Wesleyan College in 1931. She was a member of M.D.C., Daughters of the American Revolution, The Order of First Families of Virginia, the Jamestown Society of Virginia, the Jamestown Company of Alabama, The New Era Study Club, Village Painters, Independent Presbyterian Church, and the Mountain Brook Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Finis E. St. John Jr.; and a son, Finis E. St. John III.
Survivors include a son, Warren Jackson (Irma) St. John of Birmingham; a sister, Clara Jackson Martin of Birmingham; five grandchildren, Finis St. John IV, William Given St. John, both of Cullman, Warren J. St. John Jr. of New York City, N.Y., Mary Claire St. John Butler and Susanna St. John Davis, both of London, England; and six great-grandchildren.
The family requests that memorials be made to Kirkwood-by-the-River and Unity Hospice.

Mr. Powell died Sunday, June 16 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born Sept. 28, 1951 to Robert Jessie Sr. and Eva Siniard Powell. He was a crank case repairman at Americold.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Denise Widner Powell of Cullman; a son, Jamie Stuart Bearden of Cartersville, Ga.; a daughter, Jessica Odessa Powell of Cullman; a sister, Ruth Fields of Whites, Ga.; and a granddaughter, Katie Nicole Bearden.

Joseph ‘Joe’ Charles Hines
Services for Joseph “Joe” Charles Hines, 21, of Crane Hill will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, Perry Knight officiating, with burial in Good Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Hines died Saturday, June 15 at his residence. He was born Oct. 21, 1980 to Charles and Sheila Hines. He was a heavy equipment operator for Donahoo Contracting Company.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Huffstutler; and his grandfather, Henry Hines.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Josh Hines; grandfather, William Huffstutler; his grandmother, Marie Hines; and his special friend, Jamie Williams.
Pallbearers will be Clint Pace, Brannon Crook, Mitch Baker, Mitch McCluskey, Randall Quick, Jimmy Knight, Jason Cooper and Jonathan Hogan.

Majors; two daughters, Patsy (George) Suggs of Cullman and Loretta (Joe) Wilson of Bessemer; two sons, Roger Majors of Helena and Michael (Rhonda) Majors of Hueytown; five sisters, Jo Carlton, Pat Shanahan, Oliva Burton, Edie Brown and Johnnie Barren; two brothers, Steve Sims and Billy Dement; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
