Services for Joseph Lendon “J.L.” Stricklin, 52, of Bremen will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at Ryan’s Creek Baptist Church, the Revs. Ronald Foshee and Dillon Calvert officiating, with burial in Ryan’s Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Stricklin died Sunday, June 23 at Woodland Medical Center. He was born in Cullman on Aug. 1, 1949 to Emmett Julian and Kathleen Heatherly Stricklin. He was a truck driver for Good Hope Contracting and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Stricklin of Bremen; a father-in-law, O.O. Graves of Bremen; a mother-in-law, Ruth Graves of Bremen; a son, Mickey Stricklin of Bremen; a daughter, Belinda (David) Tyree of Jones Chapel; a sister, Keneiath (Clay) Campbell of Bremen; two grandchildren, Colby Tyree and Katie Tyree, both of Jones Chapel; three aunts, Wynell Hancock of Florence, Shirley Heatherly of Bremen and Audie Sims of Arab; and an uncle, Fulton Heatherly of Good Hope.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Campbell, Dillard Graves, Doug Calvert, Delane Shelton, Charles Easterwood and Ervin Waters.
Visitation was Monday.
Joseph Clifton ‘J.C.’ Robertson
Services for Joseph Clifton “J.C.” Robertson, 84, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at Hanceville Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Trueman Davis officiating, with burial in Bethlehem East Cemetery.

Mr. Robertson died Sunday, June 23 at Hanceville Nursing Home. He was born April 23, 1918 in Morgan County to John D. and Mertie Lee Holmes Robertson. He was a truck driver for Birmingham News and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Beatrice Privett; and three brothers, Evon, Lonnie and Tommy Robertson.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Edith Robertson of Hanceville; a stepdaughter, Judy (Granville) Hooper of Hanceville; a daughter, Jo (Bill) King of Mt. Olive; a son, Randy (Maria) Robertson of Montgomery; a step-son, Wayne (Becky) Williams of Cullman; three sisters, Lorene Love of Huntsville, Ethel Reeves of Vinemont, and Louise Woodard of Hanceville; a brother Dewey Lee Robertson of South Carolina; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday.
Ella Jean Marchman
Services for Ella Jean Marchman, 65, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, Charles Johnson and Mike Parker officiating, with burial in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Marchman died Sunday, June 23 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 4, 1937 in Cullman County. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ervin Coleman Harris.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Marchman of Cullman; her mother, L. E. Harris; a daughter, Sonda (Jerry “Luke”) McCain of Cullman; three brothers, Coleman Harris and Dennis (Carol) Harris both of Cullman, Kelton (Sandra) Harris of Brewton; and two grandchildren, Cody McCain and Savannah McCain.
Visitation was Monday.
Paul Douglas Lamar
Graveside services for Paul Douglas Lamar, 58, of Lancaster, Calif., formerly of Cullman, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2002 at Cullman Memory Gardens, the Rev. David Speegle officiating.

Mr. Lamar died June 15 at his residence. He was born July 20, 1943 in Cullman to Frank and Rosa Lamar. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he moved to California to live for the past 33 years, working as a senior engineer in electronics.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Lamar; and one brother, Jackie Lamar.
Survivors include his mother, Rosa Mae Lamar; one daughter, Kelli Lamar; six brothers, Gene Lamar, Jerry Lamar, Richard Lamar, David Lamar, Dale Lamar and Phillip Lamar of Cullman; four sisters, Mary Jo Whaley of Nashville, Tenn., Gustava Baird of Hayden, Sara Hudson of Pinson and Paula Wyatt of Cullman.
Mertis Monroe Dingler
Services for Mertis Monroe Dingler, 85, of Blountsville, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at Blountsville Funeral Home Chapel, Jerry Hackney officiating, with burial in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

Mr. Dingler died Sunday, June 21 at his son Danny’s residence. He was a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bell McGinnis Dingler; a son, Paul Dingler; two sisters, Beulah Dingler Hogeland and Lula Dingler Handley; and a brother, Enoch Dingler.
Survivors include a son, Danny (Janice) Dingler of Blountsville; five brothers, Mack Dingler of Jasper, Jimmy Dingler, Jerry Dingler, Sam Dingler, Jessie Dingler, all of Cullman; four sisters, Lillie Dingler Butler of LaGrange, Ga., Fannie Dingler Brown of Cullman, Bonnie Dingler of Birmingham, and Lois Dingler Venhiber of Lacon; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dock Ray Smith
Services for Dock Ray Smith, 76, of Green field, Ind. will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Erlewein Mortuary with burial at Park Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Sunday, June 23 at Hancock Memorial Hospital. He was a job setter for Ford Motor Company in Indianoplis for 39 years, retiring in 1991. He was a veteran of World War II where he received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 119 and the VFW both of Green field, the Disabled American Veterans and UAW Local No. 1111.
Survivors include his wife, Etha Sue Loyd Smith; three sons, Gary L. Smith, Jeffrey K. Smith, Kelly D. Smith; three daughters, Susan Kaye Stewart, Karen Shoultz, Lori Smith-Harsin; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Sheila Ann Fowler
Services for Sheila Ann Fowler, 48, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2002 at Bethlehem West Baptist Church, Tim Aris and Jimmy Scott officiating, with burial in New Hope No. 2 Cemetery. The body will lie in state an hour prior to the service.

Ms. Fowler died Monday, June 24 at her residence. She was born April 11, 1954 in Ohio to Dever and Veonia King Fowler. She was a lunchroom worker at West Point School.
She was preceded in death by her father; and her sister, Margie Fowler.
Survivors include a son, Larry Wayne (Amy) Fowler; her mother; a brother, B.C. (Alla) Fowler; two sisters, Patricia (Edward) George and Virginia (Jim) Lilje; three nephews; and two nieces.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
Charles Winfield McNutt
Services for Charles Winfield McNutt, 83, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hanceville, the Rev. John Jankens officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Mr. McNutt died Tuesday, June 25 at a local hospital. He was born in Hanceville to Jim Neely and Edith Burkart McNutt. He was an educator serving as assistant principal at Cullman High School in the 1960s. He served as principal at West Morgan and Ryan High Schools and was an assistant superintendent of the Cullman City School System.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Margie Iris Young McNutt.
Survivors include two sons, Charles McNutt Jr. of Springville, Henry N. McNutt of Cleveland; and four sisters, Alice Crow of Ft. Payne, Eleanor Anderson of Oxford, Dorothea Peinhardt, Joyce McNutt both of Hanceville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Hanceville.

Mrs. Gossett died Monday, June 24 at her residence. She was born in Jefferson County on April 2, 1965. She was a homemaker and a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rayburn Boatright.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip Gossett of Hanceville; a daughter, Amanda Boatright of Holly Pond; her mother, Wanda Dover (Marvin) Bradshaw of Holly Pond; four brothers, Terry Boatright and Randy Boatright, both of Locust Fork, Jerry Boatright of Holly Pond, Dennis Boatright of Remlap; a step-brother, Jerome Bradshaw of Leeds; and a step-sister, Betty Tarlton of Leeds.

Services for Gordon Eugene Miller, 73, of Logan will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2002 at Deihl Funeral Home in Mt. Wolf, Pa., with burial in Saginaw Cemetery in York County, Pa.

Mr. Miller died Tuesday, June 25 at his residence. He was born in York, Pa. on Aug. 4, 1928. He was a machinist.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Miller Sr.; and his wife, Millecent Smith Miller.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Deardorf Miller of Pennsylvania; three sons, Leon (Vanissa) Miller of Crane Hill, Jeff (Rena) Miller and Harold Loucks of Florida; a daughter, Liz Bancroft of Oregon; a sister, Geraldine (George) Hoover of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
