Services for Gary Glenn Wilks, 36, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2002 at Hopewell Baptist Church of Arab, the Rev. Todd Garner and Billie Wilks officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Wilks died Friday, June 28 in Knoxville, Tenn. He was born in Jefferson County on May 16, 1966. He was a private investigator.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Joe Wilks; and grandparents, William “Bill” Henry Wilks, Julius G. Buchanan, Elmer Murphree.
Survivors include his wife, Shelly Wilks of Hanceville; mother and step-father, Dorothy and Roger Butler of Morris; two sons, Luke Wilks, Nick Wilks both of Hanceville; sister, Christy Hopper of Morris; three step-sisters, DeAnna Butler, Cindi Hardin, Angela Pendley all of Tarrant; and grandparents, W.W. “Red” and Mary Self of Pinson.
VIsitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Gladys Mae Winfrey
Services for Gladys Mae Winfrey, 78, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2002 at Hanceville Funeral Home, the Revs. Jack Sandlin and Theron Robertson officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville.

Mrs. Winfrey died Friday, June 28 in Cullman. She was born in Cullman on Nov. 8, 1923 to William Ellison and Anne Mae Adams Ballard. She was a laborer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Ethel Mooney.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Winfrey of Hanceville; son, Wayne (Susan) Simpson of Hanceville; three daughters, Rose (Robert) Bransford of Jacksonville, Fla., Katherine (Kenneth) Quick, Carol (Theron) Robertson both of Hanceville; seven step-children, Daphney (Jay) Miller of Simcoe, Deborah Moralis of Connecticut, Donna Swanson, Robert Winfrey both of Manchester, N.H., Randy Winfrey of Greely, Colo., Romas (Jan) Winfrey of Hanceville, Ronald (Patsy) Winfrey of West Point; brother, Alvin Ballard of Sterrett; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Royce Dean Howard
Services for Royce Dean Howard, 59, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2002 at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Brad Hadley and Jeff Howard officiating, with burial in Holly Pond Cemetery.

Mr. Howard died Friday, June 28 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Cullman County on june 14, 1943 to Tomie Sr. and Bertie Holloway Howard. He was a retired truck driver and member of Zion Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Shu-Ping “Irene” Lin of Cullman; two brothers, Quentes Howard of Pinson, Harold Howard of Michigan; and three sisters, Dot Hassell Dalke of Holly Pond, Frances Estes of Haleyville, Nelda Hyde of Cullman.

Candace Ashley Grace, 18, the daughter of Mark and Shelia Grace of Holly Pond, died Saturday, June 29, 2002 in Cullman County.

Brent Howlett
Services for Brent Howlett, 31, of Crane Hill will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at Hanceville Funeral Home, with burial in Ryan’s Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Howlett died Saturday, June 29 in Bremen. He was born in Birmingham on Sept. 26, 1970.
Survivors include his father, Eddy (Ann) Howlett of Birmingham; his mother, Val (Ronnie) Douglas of Mt. Olive; his grandfather, Thelon Howlett of Birmingham; his aunt and uncle, Pat and Charles Hancock of Bremen; and three cousins, Kimberly Burleson of Cullman, Keith Hancock of Crane Hill and Stephanie Hubbert of Birmingham.

Irvin Anthony Marty
Services for Irvin Anthony Marty, 85, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2002 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Howard Rodgers officiating, with burial in Baldwin Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery.

Mr. Marty died Sunday, June 30 at his residence. He was born in Cullman County on Sept. 7, 1916. He was a retired service man for Marshall Durbin Poultry Company after 31 years of employment. He was a charter member of Baldwin Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1932.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Minnie Nuss Marty, two sisters, Lena Marty Bolte and Mabel Marty Glover, and four brothers, Aurthur, Carl, Jesse and Marvin Marty.
Survivors include his wife, Muriel Reese Marty of Cullman; two sons, Wayne (Gaynell) Marty, and Jimmy (Bonnie) Marty; one daughter, Alice (Freddie) Boatright.
Visitation was Monday.
James M. ‘Dock’ Vickery
Services for James M. “Dock” Vickery, 89, of Cullman were held Monday, July 1, 2002 at Fairview Baptist Church, Dennis Loyd and David Chambers officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Vickery died Saturday, June 29, at his residence. He was born in Marion County on April 20, 1913 to Jones Benton and Elizabeth Sanders Vickery. He was a truck driver, served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was a resident of Fairview for 55 years.
Survivors include his wife, Gethel Sumner Vickery of Cullman; a son, James Randall (Donna) Vickery of West Monroe, La.; a daughter, Phyllis Ann (Charles) Green of Fultondale; two brothers, Roger B. Vickery of Haleyville, Roland V. Vickery of Phil Campbell; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren

Gloria ‘Fay’ Cramer

Mrs. Cramer died Sunday, June 30 at Brookwood Medical Center. She was born in Vinemont and was a graduate of Holly Pond High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in downtown Birmingham where she served as wedding director for more than 20 years. She had retired from FairHaven Methodist Retirement Center where she served as activities director and mail clerk. She was a Girl Scout leader for over 40 years, was a member of the Wayfarers, a recipient of the Thanks Badge, and an active member of the Emmaus Community.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, the Rev. Ted Cramer; son, Chuck (Judy) Cramer of Palm Harbor, Fla., daughter, Beverly (Eueal) Carter of Irondale; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and her sister, Virginia Black of Cullman County.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Barnabas Hospice Foundation, FairHaven Fountain of Love or Birmingham First United Methodist Church.
Visitation was Monday.
Candace Ashley Grace
Services for Candace Ashley Grace, 17, of Holly Pond were Monday, July 1, 2002 at Arab-Heritage Funeral Home, Ronald Earwood and Roger Latham officiating, with burial in Arab Memorial Cemetery.

Miss Grace died Saturday, June 29 in Cullman County. She was born on Oct. 11, 1984 in Cullman County. She was a student at Fairview High School and a member of Grandiflora Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Maurice B. Gandy.
Survivors include her parents, Mark and Shelia Grace of Holly Pond; a sister, Chelsea Nicole Grace of Holly Pond; her grandparents, Lucille Gandy of Holly Pond and Donald and Lavis Grace of Hulaco; and aunts and uncles, Elaine and Ronald Earwood of Baileyton, Denise and Tony Latham of Holly Pond, Aaron and Mary Gandy of Fairview, Susan and Randy Lacaz of Owens Cross Road, Steve Grace of Hulaco, and Don and Laura Grace of Atlanta, Ga.; and best friend and cousin, Jody Latham.

William R. Walker
William R. Walker, 82, of Cullman died Friday, June 28 at Woodland Medical Center. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Walker was born Feb. 19, 1920 in Kingsport, Tenn. to Lonnie and Emogene Greer Walker.

Mr. Waters died Friday, June 28 at Covington County Hospital. He was the retired owner of Southern Florist and Waters Trucking Co., and was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gray died Saturday, June 29, 2002 in Huntsville. She was born in Blount County to Robert Cleophas and Solema Ethel Littleton Self. She was a store clerk and was a member of Blountsville Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two husbands, Allie Graves and Burton Gray.
Survivors include her son, Arlin Eugene Graves of Huntsville; daughter-in-law, Mary Ethel Hallmark Graves of Huntsville; two brothers, Marvin Cleophas Self, Selma Aaron Self both of Tarrant City; three sisters, Lola Self Yates, Ulma Self Nelson, Ellie Self Warren all of Tarrant City; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
