Mr. Marlin "Pete" Peters, 63, of the Pleasant Grove Community of Ozark died Friday May 18, 2001, in a Dothan Hospital following his fight with ALS.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2001, from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Isom Hill officiating, interment will follow in the Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home parlors from 3 p.m. today with the family receiving friends until 5 p.m. this afternoon. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be sent to the ALS Foundation, c/o Charles Johnson, 72 Billy Snell Road, Dothan, 36301.
Mr. Peters was a native of the Pleasant Grove Community of Ozark where he was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was a retired aircraft mechanic from Fort Rucker after 35 years service, retiring September 1999. He was also engaged in farming.
His wife survives him, Geri Lisenby Peters, Ozark; one son and his wife, William and Angela Peters, Ozark; his grandson, Taylor Peters, Ozark; special niece, Jerri Lyn Remrey, Fayetteville, North Carolina; his father, L.R. "Doc" Peters, Ozark; one sister and her husband, Norma Jean and Harold Marsh, Ozark; three brothers and their wives, Hilton and Marie Peters, Wilton and Nell Peters; Vearl and Brenda Peters, Ozark; several nieces and nephews.

Julia Robinson, 46, 1298 S. Union Avenue Apt. N-3, Ozark, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at her residence after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday 2 p.m., May 21, 2001, in Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Otis Derrah officiating. Burial. will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. today.
Mrs. Robinson was born July 15, 1954 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. She resided in Ozark for the past 22 years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Colley; Teresa's special friend, Billy Deese, Ozark; son-in-law, Karl Colley; a son, Christopher Stanton and his wife, Deidra, Troy, Alabama; former husband, John Robinson, Ozark; six grandchildren, Cody, Katie, Tyler, Kasey, Kori and Taylor; her mother, Lucille Rogers; Ozark; two brothers, Earl Rogers, Ozark, Ricky Reynolds and. his wife Beth; five sisters, Janie Dickerson, Ocean City Maryland, Debra Zapia, Ozark, Denise Nowling, Brenda Morales, Ozark, and Tina Black, Troy Alabama. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. George Otis Johnson, 78, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday May 15, 2001, at the Dale Medical center in Ozark.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 21, 2001, in the Greater Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in Ozark, with the Rev. S.C. Hudson, and elder David Reddick officiating. Burial will be in the Westside Cemetery with Trawick Ozark Funeral Home directing.

Leon Franklin Hartzog, 45, of Pine Acres Drive, Newton, died Sunday, May 13, 2001 at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Hospice Chaplain Paul Cowley officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8:00 p.m. today. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, P O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mr. Hartzog was born January 28; 1956 in Dothan, Alabama, and lived here all his life. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Hartzog was predeceased by his grandparents, Frank and Eva Hartzog, and Oscar L. and May Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Mary J. Hartzog, of Newton; a daughter, Anna May Hartzog, of Newton; his parents, Fred and Mary G. Hartzog, of Newton; three brothers, Wade Hartzog of Newton, Bruce Hartzog and Terry Hartzog, both of Midland City; two sisters, Malinda Joyce Clark, of Kinsey, and Barbara Brown, of Ozark; nieces and nephews, Christopher Hartzog, Eric Clark, Nikki Clark, and Ryan and Tori Hartzog.

Mrs. Mamie Littlefield, 90, a resident of Oak View Manor Nursing Home, died Sunday May 13, 2001.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Littlefield will be Tuesday, May 15, at 2 p.m., at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel in Clio with the Rev. Randy Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Level Baptist Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home of Clio directing.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Ann Stevenson of Daleville, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Littlefield and her son, Robert D. Littlefield.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Community Care Hospice, 117 South Main St., Enterprise, AL 36330.

Mr. Robert Henry Dean Sr., 103, of Ariton, died Friday morning, May 11, 2001, in Ozark Nursing Facility following an extended illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later through Holman Funeral Home of Ozark.

Mrs. Thelma Whatley Parker, 84, of Ozark died early Tuesday evening, May 8, 2001, in a Dothan hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 11, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Phil Sheffield officiating. Interment followed in Union Freewill Baptist Cemetery near Abbeville, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Parker was a native of Henry County having lived in Dale County since 1955. She was employed with Columbia Peanut Company in Ozark for 25 peanut seasons. Mrs. Parker was a member of the Ozark First Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Lee Parker; one son, Donald Rudolph Parker, and one grandson, Bobby Lee Johns.
She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Elizabeth and Billy Joe Johns, Dothan, and Jane and Frank Andrews, Jacksonville, Florida; her son and his wife, Wayne and Jean Parker, Ozark; grandchildren, Andy Johns and his wife, Michelle, Dothan, Sherri Flowers and her husband, Anthony, Ozark, Brian Parker and his wife, Andrea, Dothan, Blake Parker, Ozark, Paul Andrews, Beverly Long and her husband, Ron, Jacksonville, Florida; her sister, Mae Starling, Abbeville; seven great grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Nora Belle Eskes, 87, of Ariton, died Tuesday morning, May 8, 2001, at the home of her daughter following an extended illness.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. today from Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette, Arkansas, with the Rev. Carl Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Monette Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Eskes was a native of Pocahontas, Arkansas, lived in Monette, Arkansas, then Holland, Michigan where she lived for 43 years until 1998 when she moved to the Rocky Head Community to be with her daughter, Brucell Crawley Mrs. Eskes was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Monette, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husbands; Lester Bruce Wilson in 1951 and John Eskes in 1995.
Survivors include three daughters; Linda Kuite and her late husband Dave, Shirley Conroy and her husband, Larry Holland, Michigan, and Brucell Crawley and her husband, David, Ariton, four sons; Billy Wilson and his wife, Joyce, James Wilson and his wife, Barb, Wayne Wilson and his wife, Jan, Holland, Michigan, and Lester Wilson and his wife Terry St. Louis, Missouri, several grandchildren, numerous great grand-children and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jeffery Wayne Flowers, age 47, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today from St. Paul A.M.E. Church with the Rev. H.J. Fitchard, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the old Ozark City Cemetery.
At an early age, he joined the St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Jeffery was a 1973 graduate of Carroll High School. On May 24, 1991, he united in marriage to Jewell Williams. To this union, one child was born..
One sister, Kimberly Ann Flowers Chapman, preceded Jeffery in death.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife and daughter Jewell and Angela; parents, Lloyd and Melva Flowers, two sisters, Cynthia (Herb) Fenn and Gwendolyn Brown, all of Ozark; one brother Timothy (Wanda) Flowers, Enterprise; grandmothers, Ozie Flowers and Eva Mae Shipman, Ozark; mother-in-law Lois Griffin, Ozark; four sisters-in-law, Pearl (James) Lewis, Enterprise; Geraldine (Edwin) Wilkins, Columbus, Ga.; Dorothy (Lawrence) Culver Ozark; and Regina (Clevon) Woods, Griffin, Ind.; one brother-in-law, Roy Williams, Ozark; two special friends Herman Brooks and Lula Thornton, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Martha Bell Hamrick, 52, of Ozark, died Sunday May 6, 2001 at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held' 10:00 a.m. Wednesday May 9, 2001 at Holy Ground Cemetery in Ozark, Alabama with Byrd Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Hamrick was born January 23, 1949 in Dale County and lived most of her life there. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son Gerald Hamrick, Ozark; a grandson, Matthew Scott German, Ozark; two brothers, Othell German and Gerald German, both of Ozark; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Lt. Col. (ret) Robert A. Burbank, age 67 of Rt. 2, Ozark, Ala., died Saturday morning May 5, 2001 in the Ozark Nursing Facility, after a short illness. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston
Funeral Home with Rev. Hossea Parker officiating. Full military rites will be conducted at the funeral home.
Lt. Col. (ret.) Burbank was born in Cohassett, Ma. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts in 1955, he entered the U.S. Army and served 22 years as a pilot in various assignments that included two tours in Korea, one in Germany and one in Vietnam. While in the U.S. Army, he earned numerous awards and citations, and was a graduate of the Army Command and State College.
Upon retiring from the U.S. Army in 1975, he turned to a life of civilian aviation becoming first a flight instructor at Jacksonville Airport in Jacksonville, Ala., and then moving on to be the Flight Department Chairman and a student counselor for the Alabama Aviation and Technical College in Ozark. During this time he earned two Masters Degrees, one from Troy State University, and one from Jacksonville State University.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mrs. B. Grace Burbank of Ozark; son and daughter-in-law, Robert A. Burbank, Jr., and Caroline of Bay St. Louis, Ms.; brother, Howard N. Burbank and his wife Lillian of West Port, Mass.; three grandchildren, Kyle Watson Burbank, Taylor Ann Burbank and Carly Carol Burbank, all of Brandon, Ms.; father-in-law, Lester Thomley of Malvern; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Parker and her husband Husea of Malvern; and Judy Mclendon and her husband Carl of Ozark; brother-in-law,, Don Thomley and his wife Debbie of Clewiston, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

James Allen Whitaker, age 74, Ozark Rt. 1 (Echo Community) died Satrday afternoon, May 5, 2001, at his home after a short illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. (C.D.T.) Tuesday, May 8 2001 in the Echo United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Williams and Rev. Phil Craddock officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus Georgia, at 3 p.m. (E.D.T.) Tuesday with Rev. Paul Williamson officiating and Holman-Headland Mortuary, Headland, directing. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. (C.D.T.) today at the mortuary in Headland.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Wiregrass Hospice, Inc. 980-D East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, AL 36360.
Mr. Whitaker was born October 2, 1926, in Henry County, Alabama, son of the late Felix Whitaker and Clyde Whitaker Cureton. He lived in Columbus, Georgia most of his lifetime. Mr. Whitaker made Echo his permanent residence in November, 1999. W.T. Bailey and he were the co-owners of Bailey and Whitaker Trucking Corporation in Columbus for more than thirty years. The trucking corporation did road construction work; sub-contracting from Vulcan Materials, Fortson, Georgia; Wright Construction
Company, Hewitt Construction Company, and McMath-Turner Construction, all of Columbus, as well as Couch Construction Company of Dothan. In earlier years, they owned and operated service stations on Hamilton Road and River Road in Columbus.
Mr. Whitaker was a member and Deacon of the Northside Baptist Church in Columbus, Ga. Since living in Echo, he was active in the Echo United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Whitaker was an instrument rated private pilot with more than 3500 hours as Pilot-in-Command. He served as a pilot for the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer photographic department; flew photographers to various space missions and launches; and flew them to Southeastern Conference football games and NASCAR races. After retiring in 1985, he operated a private bulldozer and backhoe in the Echo, Ala. area. In addition, Edward Swensen and he owned and operated the Echo Ostrich Farm.
Mr. Whitaker was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sarah Pearson, and a son-in-law, Phillip W. Davis. Mr. Whitaker is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Lavonia Outlaw Whitaker, Echo; two daughters, Linda W. Davis, Columbus, Ga.; Pam W. Patrick and her husband, Lenard (Bubba) Patrick, Panama City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Nathan Pearson, Phillip (Bubba) Davis, John Patrick, David Patrick, Amy Pearson, Kim Flowers and Adam Davis; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Davis, Sarah Flowers, Grady Flowers and Charlie Whitaker Flowers; two sisters-in-law, Betty Outlaw, Ozark; and Helen Narron, Rebecca, Georgia; and a special cousin, Jimmy Whitaker, Jacksonville, Fla.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Nathan Pearson, Phillip (Bubba) Davis, John Patrick, David Patrick, Eduard Swensen and H. B. (Boss) Hughes.

Mrs. Juanita Parham McDuffie, age 82, of Oakview Manor Nursing Home in Ozark went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon May 5, 2001. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens in Tillman's Corner near Mobile, Ala.
Mrs. McDuffie was born Aug. 3, 1918 in Luverne, Ala., to the late Lola and John Elwood Parham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie McDuffie, her four sisters, Ruth, Margaret, Bernice and Kathleen and her one brother, Cecil.
Mrs. McDuffie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Berit McDuffie of Dothan; her four grandchildren and their spouses, Gene and Cheryl McDuffie, Charlie and Debbie Dowling, Mike and Susan McDuffie and Stephen McDuffie; her eight great-grandchildren, Travis and Marcie Sawyers, Andy and Holly McDuffie, Lauren, Michael and Joseph McDuffie and Chuck Dowling; her two great-great-grandchildren, John David and Elijah Sawyers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society

Mrs. Doris E. Cheshire of Eufaula Street in Ozark, 79, died in the Dale Medical Center, Friday night, May 4, 2001, following a brief illness.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with I7r. Billy officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens in Ozark with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. today in the funeral parlors. At other times the family will be at her home on Eufaula Street in Ozark.
Mrs. Cheshire was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther B. Cheshire in 1999; son-in-law, Martin Godwin, in 1979; and a grandson, James Steven Cantley April 27, 2001. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be sent to the Methodist Children's Home in Selma.
Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Ken Cantley of Ozark, Charlotte and Dennis Jaroslawski of Dothan; one son and daughter-in-law, Drs. Bryan and Sadie Cheshire of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Wendy Brasher, Karen Anthony and Johnny Jaroslawski five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Phillip, Leah, Caleb, and Hannah Brasher; sisters-in-law, Edna Monk of Ozark, Mary Jean Cheshire of Ozark, Dorothy Cheshire of Oxon Hills, Md.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Mildred Cheshire of Bethany Okla.

Mrs. Barbara K. Johnson of Daleville, 63, died at her home Tuesday, May 2, 2001, following a brief illness.
The funeral will he 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Dixon officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Ariton with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-ti p.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by two sons, Curtis Thompson and Scotty Johnson.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Johnny Johnson of Daleville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Ronald Gilmer of Calhoun, Ga., Amanda and Jerry Nicholson of Newton; one son, Tony Johnson of Ozark; two sisters, Bonnie Wilkerson of Atlanta, Ga., Boots Weldon of Columbus, Ga.; two brothers, Louis Keahey of Ashland, Donny Keahey of Tallahassee; three grandchildren, Ambler Monk, Ashley Gilmer, and Cassie Gilmer.

Mrs. Lucille Moore, 75, a resident of Ozark, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the First Missionary Baptist Church on East Andrews Avenue, with the pastor Dr. S.C. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the old Ozark City Cemetery with Trawick Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Mary Luck Skipper, 77, of Ozark, died early Wednesday morning, May 2, 2001, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2001, from Asbury United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ken Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 3:00 P M. Thursday until one hour prior to service time on Friday when it will be in the Church. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6-8 p.m. this evening.
Mrs. Skipper was a native of New Mexico having lived in Ozark since 1945. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Cullen F. Skipper, Ozark; two daughters and their husbands, Laurie and Rodney Dasinger, Panama City, Fla.; Louvena and Melvin Johnson, Eufaula; grandchildren, Bryan Neal Johnson, Eufaula, and Elizabeth Ann Johnson, Dothan; four sisters, Gracie England, Midwest City, Okla.; Hazel Mayer, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Louise Perkins, husband, Ralph, Capitan, N.M.

Annabel Hutto, 83 of Ozark, died Wednesday morning, May 2, 2001 in Dale Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 4 2001, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Bill Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 4:00 P. M. Thursday May 3, 2001, until service time on Friday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6-8 p.m. this evening.
Mrs. Hutto was a wife, Mother, and homemaker who was born in Evergreen, Alabama and lived most of her life in Ozark. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Jack Hutto.
Survivors include two sons; Mickey Hutto, Ozark, and Tommy Hutto and his wife, Sharon, Bethlehem, GA.

Mr. James Steven Cantley, age 34 of Ozark, died Friday April 27, 2001.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday April 30, 2001, at First United Methodist Church Ozark. with Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vivian B. Adams School at 1204 Stuart Tarter Road, Ozark, 36360.
Mr. Cantley was employed with Tri Glass Corp. in Daleville.
Survivors include his parents, Ken and Shirley Cantley Ozark; sister and brother-in-law, Wendy and Larry Brasher Ozark; grandmother, Doris Cheshire, Ozark; uncle and aunt Dr. Bryan and Sadie Cheshire, Birmingham; aunt and uncle, Charlotte and Dennis Jaroslawski, Dothan; nieces and nephews, Daniel, Phillip, Caleb, Leah and Hannah Brasher, several cousins.

Mrs. Frances J. Bright, 83, formerly of Route 2, Midland City, died Sunday morning, April 22, 2001.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday from Newton First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Alvin Skipper officiating. Burial followed in Newton City Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, O.B. Bright; daughter, Judy McLain.
She is a graduate of Dale County High School, attended Georgia Tech University, Atlanta for three years, also attended the Baptist Bible Institute in Newton. She was employed with Cowikee Cotton Mills in Columbus, Georgia, White Knight Mfg. Co., Ozark, and also Warners in Dothan.
She was a charter member of Corinith Freewill Baptist Church, a native and life long resident of Dale County.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Bright of Wetumpka; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lamar and Shirley Bright of Midland City, and Jerome and Mary Bright, also of Midland City; one sister, Jean Woodham of Lynn Haven, Florida; son-in-law, J. L. Glenn of Eufaula; five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild survive.

Mr. Frank Allen, 63, of the Thomas Mill Creek Community of Henry County, died in the Lakeview, Hospital in Eufaula Saturday, April 21, 2001 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Tuesday, April 24, 2001, from the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home with the Reverend Greg Aman officiating; entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Masonic Rites, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be at the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P M. Monday with the family receiving friends until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening.
Mr. Allen went to high school in Ozark and was a resident of Newton for a time. Frank served in the USAF for 12 years as an auditor, manager of EDP auditing for CBC in Ottawa, Canada for 8 years, and instructor and manager of international programs for the Institute of Internal Auditors in Orlando, Fl. Resident of Orlando for 17 years before retiring to Lake Eufaula in 1999.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandy Allen, Abbeville, his daughter and son-in-law Margaret and Jim Dewan, San Antonio, Texas, his son Chris Allen, Toronto, Canada, his mother, Hazel Allen, Ozark, his sister Alice Faye and her Husband Jack Mizell, Ozark, and sister-in-law George Ann Karr, Prattville.
The family requests memorials instead of flowers be sent to the IPF Department at Kirkland Center c/o Dr. Joa de Andrade, 339 Lvons-Harrison Research Bldg. 701 South l9th Street, Birmingham, AL 35294-0007.

Mrs. Eva Ruth Bludsworth, 93, of Ozark, died Saturday evening, April 21, 2001 in the Ozark Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark, with Rev. Rex Henderson officiating. Burial followed in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Ozark, with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Bludsworth was a native and life long resident of Dale County. She was a member of RSVP, of the Baptist Faith, kind and loving person and loved by all who knew her.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, J. M. Bludsworth; a daughter, Brenda Crawford; parents, William Walter and Lethie Arrington Free; sister, Frances Richbury; brothers, J. W. Free and Harry Free; grandson, David Stutchman.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Rudolph Barrett of Dothan; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Dorothy Bludsworth of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Loyce Free of Ozark; nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Norris, Sammy Norris, Doug Stutchman, Jimmy Stutchman, Steve Peters and Steve Bludsworth.

Mr. J.C. Lucas, 84, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday April, 21, 2001, at the Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Ozark with Dr. S.C. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be a wake on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Trawick Funeral Home directing.
