Thomas J. Robb, Sr., 81, of Ben Street, Ozark, died early Sunday, April 22, 2001, in the Dale Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, from Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Interment will follow with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be at the funeral home parlors from 6 p.m. Wednesday, until time to depart for the service on Thursday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Mr. Robb was a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania having lived in various places while serving in the United States
Army which he retired after 23 years in 1977 at Fort Rucker. He continued to work with Civil Service at Fort Rucker until 1981. He was of the protestant faith.
His son survives him, Thomas J. Robb, Jr., Ashford; three grandchildren, Michelle Robb, Montgomery, Erika Robb, Selma, and Jessica Robb, Columbus, Georgia; his sister, Mrs. Edna Carney, Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Irene S. Whatley, 83, of Ozark, died Saturday morning, April 21, 2001.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Mt. Hebron Cemetery near Newton with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Whatley was a native of the Mount Hebron community near Newton having lived in Ozark her adult life. In 1981 she retired from Oakview Manor Nursing Facility having work there as a nurse's aid. Mrs. Whatley was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene "Tean" R. Whatley.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Ross, Ozark; two sons, Tommy Whatley, Mobile, and James Whatley, Homer, La.; one sister, Ethel Wilson, Tifton, Ga.; two half brothers, Macon Summers, Enterprise, and James Summers of Colquit, Ga.; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Kwi Sun Lewis, 56, of Ben Street, died Friday, April 20, 2001, in Flowers Hospital, Dothan.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Ingram officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband, Ira L. Lewis of Ozark; two sons and daughter-in-law, Anthony K. Lewis of Ashburn, Virginia, Shane L. and Kristy Lewis of Huntsville; mother and father, Jae Young Choi and Bok Ye Choi, both of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two sisters, Myung and her husband, Raymond of Lawrenceville, Ga., Yung Ja Choi of Seoul, Korea; three brothers, Myung Y. Choi of Lawrenceville, Ga., Myung Koo and his wife, Soon Choi of Chunju, Korea, Myung Sun Choi of Chunju, Korea; three grandchildren also survive.
Marjorie L. Davis, 67, of Route 3, Ozark, died early Friday morning, April 20, 2001 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2001 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan, Alabama with the Rev. Royce Morrow and the Rev. Kenneth Jerkins officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today.
Mrs. Davis was born November 21, 1933, in Madison, Missouri and lived the early years of her life there. She resided in Shelbina, Missouri prior to moving to Dothan in 1974. Mrs. Davis was employed with AAA Cooper for five years prior to her retirement in 1996.
Survivors include four sons, Tony Ray Davis and his wife, Betty, Dothan; Ronald Davis and his wife, Beulah, Headland; Tommy Davis, Napier Field; Daniel Hartgrove, Ozark; two daughters, Patricia Davis Midland City,; Marjorie Ann Peters, Dothan; eleven grandchildren, Ronald Davis, Jr., Elizabeth Ann Daus, Wendy L. Davis, Tommy Davis, II, Kelly Lynn Davis, Betty Amelia Davis, Tonie Davis, Becky Lynn Davis, Marjorie Elizabeth Davis, Robert Peters, Jr., Penny Davis; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Glenn, Washington State; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her brothers, Jessie Hartgrove, Kenneth Hartgrove, Henry Hartgrove, Ike Hartgrove and Ezralie Hartgrove.
Mrs. Susan G. Webb, 84, died Friday night, April 20, 2001, in Dale Medical Center following a long illness.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Westview United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Craddock officiating. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directed.

Mrs. Webb was born in the Trenton, New Jersey area June 20, 1916. She moved to Ozark in 1985 with her late husband, Willie Webb, from Homestead, Florida. She was a member of Westview United Methodist Church, a member of Kolb Chapter 468 Order of Eastern Star of Ozark and a member of the Daughters of the Nile.
She is survived by stepchildren, Robert Hallock and wife Blanche of New Egypt, New Jersey, Leonard Hallock and wife, Minnie of Bowmansville, Pa., Lenore Fitzpatrick of Ocala, Florida, Gwendolyn Hallock of Robbinsville, New Jersey; and 11 step grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mrs. Mattie Tapp, 92, of Ozark, died Friday, April 20, 2001, in Dale Medical Center, following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Greg Aman and the Reverend Bill Hix officiating. Interment followed at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, in Maple Grove Cemetery in Russellville, Kentucky, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Tapp was a native of Russellville, Kentucky, where she and her late husband, Russell A. Tapp, owned and operated a grocery store. They moved to Ozark in 1980 and were members of the Ozark Baptist Church.
Mr. Tapp preceded her in death in 1996.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Marge and Jim DiFilippo, Ozark, and Thelma and Homer Sears, Evansville, Indiana; grandchildren, Gale Lavender and her husband, Tommy, Ozark, Dale Nash and his wife, Jan, Dothan, Rick DiFilippo and his wife, Becky, Ozark, Sherry Parsons and her husband, Bill, Ozark, Patsy Hale, Murray, Ky., Becky Brown and her husband, Matt, Pennsylvania, Vicki Harrison and her husband, Pat, Indiana, and Peggy Rhodes, Evansville, Indiana; twelve great grandchildren also survive.
Thomas W. Akers, 72, of Ozark, died at his residence Thursday, April 19, 2001.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. today from St. Johns Catholic Church with Father Chuck McCabe officiating. ln lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be sent to Wiregrass Hospice or St. Johns Catholic Church.
Mr. Akers was retired from the U.S. Army having served 20 years. He retired with the rank of E-7. After his retirement from the Army, he was employed with Civil Service at Ft. Rucker.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary E. Akers, Ozark; one daughter, Ms. Marty Akers, Dallas, Texas; one son, John W. Akers, Dallas, Texas; one brother, O.C. Akers, Florida; three grandchildren, Pat and Kim Akers, Houston, Texas; Michael Akers, Dallas, Texas; Jenny and Brad White, Houston, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Emily Anne and Sarah Elizabeth Akers, Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Evelyn R. Johnson, 81, of Ozark died Saturday morning, April 14, 2001, in Ozark Nursing Facility following a long illness.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Billy Gaither and Reverend Michael Lawler officiating. Interment followed in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Johnson was a native of Dale County having retired from Sikorsky Support Services at Fort Rucker after fifteen years service and was a member of Ozark First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, James Eddie Johnson, and her brother Joel Herbert Rogers.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Gwen Johnson of Dothan.
Mr. J.T. McDaniel, 74,of Ozark, died Friday afternoon, April 13, 2001 in the Dale Medical Center.

Ms. Bessie Roberson, 94, a resident of Ozark, died Wednesday April 11, 2001, at the Oakview Manor Nursing Facility in Ozark.

H. Brantly Steagall, 26, Ozark, died Saturday, April 7, 2001 in Ozark.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, in the Asbury United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ken Spivey and Rev. Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Interment followed in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Steagall was a native of Ozark where he graduated from Carroll High School and later received his college degree in Forestry with additional certification from Auburn University.
The United States Forestry Service recently employed him as a firefighter in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially adept at hunting and fishing. He was a friend to many and was a kind and gentle person.
His grandfather Justice Henry B. Steagall, II, preceded him in death.
His father and mother survive him, Henry B. Steagall, III and Frances Woods Steagall, Ozark; one sister, Amy Steagall Luck and her husband Aaron, Montgomery; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Celeste Adams Sneed, Ozark; his maternal grandfather, Judge Charles L. Mr. Ezekiel Sistrunk, 71, a resident of Clio, died Saturday April 7, 2001, at the UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Randolph "Randy" Smith, 34, of Ozark, died of injuries received in a motorcycle accident near Hardridge Creek in Henry County Friday, April 6, 2001.

Mr. Smith was born in Beirut, Lebanon and had lived in Tacoma, Washington his adult life having moved to Ozark in January 2001.
He is survived by his wife, Candy Sanders Smith of Ozark; two sons, Cody and Kyle Smith, Ozark; sister, Dorean Liebnow, Fircrest, Washington; mother, Ampon Slick, Port Orchard, Washington; his father and mother-in-law, Obie and Virginia Sanders, Ozark.
Herman Williams, 85, of Newton, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday from the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. Kris Mullis officiating. Burial followed in Newton City Cemetery, Newton, with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Memorial contributions may be made to the Newton Baptist Church Building Fund.
Mr. Williams was born in Dale County near Newton on April 7, 1915, and lived in Newton for the past 60 years. He spent his early years as a farmer and owned and operated an ice business, a feed and mill business and a sawmill business. He was employed with Hayes Aircraft in 1954 at Fort Rucker and retired from Sikorsky in 1980.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a deacon for many years. He was an avid quail hunter and a member of the then Dog Club in Headland., where he received awards with his prize bird dogs. Mr. Williams was a member of the I.A.M. Union for over 45 years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Annie Merle Williams of Newton; two daughters, Martha Ann Delaney and Kaye W. Johnson, both of Newton; one son, Larry H. Williams and his wife Karen H. Williams of Newton; one brother, Early J. Williams and wife Hansel of Warner Robins, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Nettie Austin of Dothan, Kathryn Williams of Eustis, Florida; grandchildren, John Toole, Brad Williams, Travis Williams, all of Newton, Karie Williams of Auburn, Dana Sizemore, Angela Toole, booth of Newton; one great grandson, Slater Toole and one step great granddaughter, Amber Sizemore, both of Newton; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Anita Morrison, 48, of Route 1 Ariton, died Friday afternoon, April 6, 2001 in Dale Medical Center.

Mrs. Morrison was a member of Hamilton Cross Roads Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ped and Clara Holder, also a stepmother, Ruby Holder, and one brother, Bill Holder. Mrs. Morrison was born in Georgiana. Married Danny Morrison June 12, 1976 and her daughter, Denise was born July 9, 1981. She and her family have been a part of this area for 13 years. She loved and supported Vivian B. Adams School and the Ariton Purple Cats.
Survivors include her husband, Danny Morrison of Ariton; daughter, Denise Morrison of Ariton; sister, Mavis Holder of Montgomery; brother, Morris Holder and his wife, Mary of Camden; sister-in-law, Louise Holder of Prattville; nephews, Mark and Belenda Holder of Selma, Lt. Jimmy and Trina Holder of Fort Knox, Kentucky; nieces, Debbie and Dewayne Thompson of Prattville, Cherish, Melissa and Jennifer Taylor of Elba, Hope and Keith Hudson of New Brockton; two great nephews, Devin Thompson of Prattville, Sheldon Hudson of New Brockton; three great nieces, Chelsea and Brianna Holder of Selma, and Taylor Hudson of New Brockton.
Mrs. Francis B. Wilcher, 71, of Ozark, died Tuesday April 3, 2001, in Dale Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Wilcher was a native and lifelong resident of Ozark where she worked with the Holiday Inn as Head Waitress before retirement due to illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewell Blackmon and J. C. Bottoms.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Jeff Thagard, Ozark, two brothers, Paul Bottoms, Opelika, and Jim (Pete) Blackmon, Spring Mountain, PA, two grandchildren, Robby Thagard and Mallory Thagard, one niece, Elaine Dickey, two nephews, Steve Bottoms and Jimmy Blackmon.

T.C. (Bow) Green wood, 48, a resident of Ozark, died Monday; April 2, 2001, at this residence. Susan Renee Livingston, age 23, of Ozark, died Thursday morning, March 29, 2001, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. from Macedonia Baptist Church near Union Springs with the Rev. Kirk Miller and the Rev. Matt Helms officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Susan was a 1995 graduate of Carroll High School, member of the Price of Peace Lutheran Church in Ozark, and was employed with CVS Pharmacy in Troy.
She is survived by her father and stepmother, Doug and Donna Livingston, Ozark; mother and stepfather, Richard and Cora Loucks, Ozark; three brothers, Steven Livingston, Corpus Christi Texas; Doug Livingston, Jr., Ozark; Jeffrey Livingston, Ft. Hood, Texas; two step-sisters, Mary Shelley, Taylor; Jan Ellis, Ozark; grandmothers, Voncile Rooton, Ozark; Lois Livingston, Eufaula; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Dessie Bullard Allums, age 91, of Ariton, died at her home Wednesday, March 28, 2001.
The funeral will be today at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev Joe Hotchkins and Lois Galloway officiating. Burial will follow at Pea River Cemetery.
Mrs. Allums was born in Elba in 1910 and lived most of her life in Dale County, also serving in the Holy Faith Mission.

Mrs. Frances Chaplin, age 80, of Gaffney, S.C. died March 28, 2001.
The funeral will be Saturday, March 31, 2001, at 4 p.m. from St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Ozark with the Rev. David Powell officiating. Mrs. Chaplin was born in Greenville S.C., January 19, 1921. She moved to Ozark in 1965 with her husband, Clarence J. Chaplin, who passed away on March 14, 1997. She returned to South Carolina in December of 1999.
Survivors include one son, Clarence (Rick) Chaplin, Boiling Springs, S.C.; three granddaughters, Nicole Chaplin McMilland and husband Phillip, Boiling Springs, S.C.; Linsey and Lacey Chaplin, both of Ozark; one grandson Jason James Chaplin, Birmingham.
Mrs. Theresa Anne Patten, age 57, of Woodland Hills Drive, Ozark, died at her home Wednesday morning, March 28, 2001.
The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church with Dr Billy Gaither officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Summitt United Presbyterian Cemetery, Butler, Pa. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Frank A. Patten, Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine Patten and Barry Wingate, Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law John A. and Rhonda Patten, Sylacauga; one grandson, Steve Perkins, Ozark; one sister and brother-in- law Janice and Ed Mort, Jacksonville, North Carolina; one brother and sister-in-law Fred and Connie Schafers, Maryland; five nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wyatt Payne, 94, of Route One in Skipperville, died Sunday evening, March 25, 2001, in Dale Medical Center in Ozark following a short illness.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Skipperville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Pam Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the Bersheba Cemetery, Skipperville with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be from 6 tonight until one hour prior to service time, when his body will be placed in the church. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 6- 8 tonight. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Special Projects Fund., Skipperville United Methodist Church. When the family is not at the funeral home, they will be at his residence, Route One, Skipperville.
Mr. Payne was a lifetime farmer and gardener. He was a member of Skipperville United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Dale County.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Lucille Strickland Payne, Route l, Skipperville; one son and daughter-in-law, Davis and Virginia Watson Payne, Route One, Skipperville; two granddaughters and their husbands, Kimberly Payne Leverette and her husband, Bill, of Green sboro N.C.; Karla Payne Watkins and her husband, Max Jr., of Enterprise; one great-grandson, Andrew Payne Hartzog; three great-granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Leverette, Margaret Claire Leverette, and Victoria Leigh Armstrong.

Bermont Senn, 73, of Ariton, died at his home Saturday morning, March 24, 2001, following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny LaCarter and Rev. Guy Causey officiating. Burial followed in Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Senn was a native and life long resident of Dale County, and a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He also served with the Alabama National Guard in Ozark. He retired from DynCorp, Fort Rucker in 1992.
Memorial contributions are requested to be given to the Center Ridge Baptist Church of Center Ridge Baptist Cemetery Fund, Route 2, Ariton, Alabama 36311.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John R. and Bama Senn; two brothers, Lester Senn and Walter Senn.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley H Senn of Ariton; daughter, Donna Nero of Windemere, Fla.; two sons, David L. Johnston of Cottonwood and Jon D. Johnston of Ariton; four brothers, Wayne Senn of Carriere, Mississippi, Leron Senn and Earl Senn, both of Ariton, Raymont Senn of Birmingham; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Ms. Minnie L. Robinson, 77, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, March 24, 2007, at the Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in the St. Paul A.M.E. Church on East Andrews Avenue in Ozark. The Rw. Horace Fitchard Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Rose Baptist Church Cemetery in Skipperville with Trawick Funeral Home directing.
