Mrs. Eunie L. Price, age 84, of Ozark died Friday morning, Nov. 26, 1999, in Oakview Nursing Facility following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home, Ozark, with the Rev. Jerry Glover officiating. Burial mll be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Ozark, with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be from the funeral home chapel from 5 p.m. today until service time Sunday. The family will receive friends at thc funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight. The family asks that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be given to Wiregrass Hospice PO. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Ala., 36302.
Mrs. Price was born Dec. 16, 1914 in Dale County She had a gentle, serene spirit, a forgiving nature, and a servants heart with friends and family alike. She was a wonderful mother a loving and caring grandmother, and a constant charitable Christian spirit that was manifested in all her actions. She will be greatly missed by friends, neighbors and family.
Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husband, Coley D. Price, and a grandson, Val G. Williams Jr.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law Harriet Morozuk, Memphis, Tenn., Glenda and Karl Albright, Dothan, and Colleen and Val Williams, New Orleans; two sisters, Vivey Fralish, Ariton and Hazel Bowman, Dothan; two brothers, Percy Langford, Talledega, and Howard Langford, Dothan; four grandsons, Matthew Albright, Auburn, Will Morozuk Memphis, Tenn., Scott Williams, Jackson, Miss., and David Williams, Franklin, Tenn.; 11 great-grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers will be Scott Williams, David Williams, Matt Albright, Will Morozuk, Steve Price and Morris Peters.
Douglas McArthur Roberts, 52, of Ozark, died Nov. 26, 1999, at Flowers Hospital, following a short illness.
Services will be Thursday, Dec. 2, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church Ozark, with Pastor Rev. Jackson and Elder Davis Reddick officiating. Burial will follow at the New Corinthian Cemetery located on Highway 123 South, Newton, Trawick Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his mother, Gussie M. Roberts, Newton, two sisters, Betty Johnson (Jerald), Green sboro, N.C., Margaret Ramsey (Lewie), Ozark, three brothers, Rozell Roberts (Nettie), Dothan, Roy L. Roberts, New- ton, Roosevelt Roberts (Annie Cile), Enterprise, grandmother, Dera Doster, Trenton, N.J., 10 children, nine grandchildren, one uncle, three aunts, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Bruce James Beecher Jr., 18, of Ariton, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 1999, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Hersey and the Rev. Andy Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Byrd Funeral Home directing.
Bruce was born March 15, 1981, in Landstuhl, Germany, and resided there prior to moving to Ozark in 1985. He attended Dale County Christian School in Ozark and Slocomb High School. He was very accomplished in Martial Arts and a published writer. Bruce also enjoyed nature and was an avid naturalist.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Tanna Rae and Wade Youngblood, Ozark; his father and step-mother, Bruce "Jim" and Nancy Beecher, Germany; brothers and sisters, Robert Keith Thomas III, Ozark, Amanda Burgers, Dothan, Kyle Youngblood, Ozark, Kimberly Paige Youngblood, Ozark; a stepbrother, .Scott Koger; stepsisters, Kara Chrisman and Alisha Niemet; 10 aunts including, Melisa L. Condrey, Jacqueline Daum, Charla F. Thermenos, Vicky L. Daum, Amber L. Bateman, Kimberly J. Caravella, Micky J. Turner; seven uncles including, Targus D. Daum, Charles A. Daum, Mars V. Daum, Cole C. Daum and G. Adam Daum; two nieces, Alexia Burgers and Payton Blaine Thomas; a nephew, Isaac Burgers; several cousins also survive.
John W. Nichols, 53, of Ozark died Saturday, Nov 20, 1999, in a Birmingham hospital.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov 24, at the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev Pam Huff officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Primative Baptist Church Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Nichols was a member of Central Baptist Church of Selma. He previously served in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by one son, John Wesley Nichols, and two brothers, Frank J. and O.C. Nichols.
Survivors include his wife, Carol J. Nichols of Ozark; a daughter, Lisa Lynn Nichols of Auburn; one sister, Mae Little of Selma; two brothers, Henry Lee Nichols and Joe Killett, both of Selma; and one grandson.
Mr. Henry Bascom Steagall II, 77, of Ozark, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Billy Gaither and Dr. Rex Mixson officiziating. Burial will follow at Westview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home, today from 5 until 7 p.m.
Henry Bascom Steagall II, was born in Abbeville, on Sept. 4, 1922. He was the son of the late Susan Koonce Steagall and Orlando Marvin Steagall. He was named for his uncle, United States Congressman Henry Bascom Steagall.
He was a graduate of Auburn University and thc University of Alabama School of law, where he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Alabama Law Review. He began the practice of law in 1951 and continued his legal career until 1986, except for the periods that he served as Executive Secretary to the Governor and as State Finance Director, both for Governor George C. Wallace. He was then appointed to the Alabama Supreme Court and assumed the office of Associate Justice in 1986. Justice Steagall was elected to a full term in the next general election and retired from the court in 1995.
During his legal career he served in the Alabama Legislature from Dale County for four terms. He also served as State Bar Commissioner for the 33rd Judicial Circuit and was a member of the Alabama and American Bar Associations.
Mr. Steagall was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark and a former Chairman of the Administrative Board; member of VFW and America Legion; charter member and past president of the Ozark Rotary Club, a Mason; a Navy veteran with three years active duty in World War II (Pacific Theater).
He served as a member of the Auburn University Board of Trustees for 16 years and as President Pro Tempore of the Auburn Board. In 1996, Mr. Steagall was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Auburn University.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Rector Steagall, his son and daughter-in-law, Henry B. Steagall, III, and Frances Steagall, Ozark, his daughter and son-in-law, Susan Steagall Brown and Clarence Brown, Auburn, his son and daughter-in-law, Fred Rector Steagall and Patti Steagall, Ozark, seven grandchildren, Amy Luck, Brantley Steagall, Jamison and Maren Brown, Spencer, Scott and Mary-Frances Steagall, two great-grandchildren, Lacy and Adam Luck, two nephews, James Solomon, Jr., Tom Atkeson, and one niece, Mary Atkeson Gibson.

Ms. Joan Kent, a resident of Ozark, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at her residence.

Joseph Bruner, 49, of Ozark died Thursday, Nov 18, 1999, at Oakview Manor Nursing Home.
Burial was Friday, Nov. 19, at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Phenix City.
Mr. Bruner was retired from the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mrs. Gloria Jean Brown, 55, of Ozark, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 20, at 12 p.m. from St. John's Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles J. McCabe officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Ceme- tery, with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Mrs. Brown was a native of Ozark where she was a home- maker, worked with Judy Bond Manufacturing Co., for 20 years, and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

Retired SFC Rev. Cecile W Freeman, 48, died at his home Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, following an extended illness.
Services were held Sunday, Nov. 21, at the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Pastor David Pizzimenti officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Freeman retired from the U.S. Army after serving 23 1/2 years. He was a member of Glory to Him Fellowship Church. Rev. Freeman is preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Freeman, Robert Freeman, and Howard Freeman.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley J. Mr. Jimmie Jones, 57, of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
Arrangements will be announced later by Kent-Thornton Funeral Home, Dothan.

Nettie Carter Williams, age 75, of Fuqua Walding Apartments, died Wednesday night Nov 10, 1999, in Dale Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov 13, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home directing. "Miss Nettie," as she was called by everyone, was born in Dale County Her church and family was always her special interests. Even though she never had children, she was "Granny" to many. She worked for many years with the Grandparents Program at Ft. Rucker until she retired due to health reasons.
Survivors include two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jewel and Harrell Hartzog, Ozark, Mavis and Walter Clark, Albany, Ga., special niece, Thelma Flowers, Brundidge, special nephew Carter Bearrentine, Ariton, and several other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Georgia M. Newsome, 76, of Boxwood Drive in Ozark died early Monday morning, Nov. 8, 1999 in a Montgomery hospital following an extended illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Holman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Ozark City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home parlors from 3 p.m. today, with the family receiving friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today.
Mrs. Newsome was a native of Wachulla, Fla., having lived in Ozark since childhood. She was retired from the 231 Truck Stop restaurant and was active in the senior groups at Oakview Manor and Cedar Crest Nursing Homes. She was the widow of James Bruton Newsome.
She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Mary Thompson and her husband, Billy Smith, Ozark, Frances Gross, Montgomery, Peggy (Norris) Smyly Tallahassee, Fla.; one son and his wife, Larry and Diann Newsome, Fayetteville, Ga.; six grandchildren, Greg Thompson, Tina Ellis, Stephanie Gross, Doug Newsome, Keith Norris and Christopher Norris three great-grandchildren, Brittney Thompson, Heather Ellis and Bryant Ellis.
Mrs. Martha (Tuck) Gaddis, 71 of Ozark died Sunday night, Nov. 7, 1999 in Oakview Nursing Facility, Ozark, following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark officiating. Visitation will be from noon Wednesday at the funeral home until time to leave for the services. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Tuck is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Hubert D. Gaddis, U.S. Army. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law,, Cheryl and Dowling Petrey, Ozark, Sandra and Chris Van Deventer, New Iberia, La.; one son, Dale and Amy Gaddis, Troy; mother, Quida Mae Bickle, Augusta, Ga. one sister, Teeny Newman, Augusta, Ga.; one brother, Henry Tucker, Washington State; five grand-children and one great-grandchild also survive.
Mrs. Reba Loftin Herring, 84, of Ozark died Sunday night Nov. 7, 1999 in Southgate Nursing Home in Bessimer, Ala.
Services will be held at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Glenn Pippins officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services Wednesday.
Mrs. Herring is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert M. Herring, and one son Gary Loftin Jones.
Mrs. Herring was a life-long member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, lived in Gadsden, Ala., for 12 years then Birmingham for 10 years before returning to Ozark. She was a Sunday school teacher, a Den Mother and a Team Mother for various sports.
She is survived by sons, Vann Max Herring, Gainesville, Ga., Steven J. Herring, Birmingham two sisters, Bobbie Paulk, Ariton, Mary Pippin, Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, Cecil Loftin, Clio; six grandchildren, Brian, Max, Jeff, Brooke, Jonathan, Lindsey Herring; three great-grandchildren, Brittney, Michael and Max Herring.
Mrs. Florrie Mae Stone, age 89, Ozark, died Friday evening, Nov. 5, 1999, in Dale Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Monday Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Luther Tadlock and the Rev. Douglas Stone officiating. Burial will be in the Pinckard Memorial Cemetery with Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Mrs. Stone was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County. She lived in Pinckard for 12 years then moved to Ozark in 1966. She was a member of Pinckard Baptist Church, while living in Ozark she attended The First Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Stone in 1998. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn Willis, Ewell Community Mary Ann and Ewell Jay, Ozark, Sarah Stone, Ozark, Nelda and Bill Stahl, Dothan, four sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Kate Stone, Ozark, James L. and Peggy Stone, Springfield, Va., Floyd Stone, Newton, Harold E. Stone, Ozark, seven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
Mr. Leroy William "Shorty" Bodford, 81, of Ozark, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 3, 1999, in Oakview Manor Nursing Facility following an extended illness.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from Ozark Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Aman officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Mr. Bodford was a native of Winston-Salem, N.C., having lived in Ozark since 1941, where he owned and operated Ozark Plumbing, Heating and Electric Company for 47 years until his retirement. He was a member of Ozark Baptist Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class and served as an usher for 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Effie Lee Peters Bodford, Ozark; one daughter and son- in-law, Claudia Williams and her husband, Paul, Savannah, Tenn.; two sons and daughters-in-law, John W. "Billy" Bodford and his wife, Kathy, Jackson, Miss., and Leroy W. "Bubba" Bodford Jr. and his wife, Michele, Ozark; two sisters, Lillian Everhart, and Pauline Rutledge, both of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two half-sisters, Ruby Clinard and Jean Faircloth, Winston- Salem, N.C.; five grandchildren, Brigitte Allred; Montgomery, Buckley Freeman, Green sboro, N.C., and Brianna, Kate and Ian Bodford, Jackson, Miss.
Mrs. Florence Rose Ryder Hatsko, 77, of Ozark, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 2, 1999, at her home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Friday Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. from Moore's Home for Funerals in Wayne, N.J. Interment will follow in Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, N.J. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of local arrangements.
The family will receive friends in Moore's Home for Funerals in Wayne, N.J., from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday Nov. 4.
Mrs. Hastko was a native of New Jersey where she worked as a nurses assistant for many years before retiring to Ozark in 1985.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Edward Ryder, her parents, Catherine McGreevy and Henry Samuel Stuart, two sisters, Harriet Czerniack and Alice Stuart, and one brother, Robert Stuart.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Hatsko, Ozark; three daughters, Katherine Shevlin, Ozark; Jenny Susan, LaForge, N.J.; Florence I. Babcock, Ozark; one son, Charles Henry Ryder, Portland, Maine; two sisters, Dorothy Kuzne, Evelyn Vance, both of N.J.; one brother, Henry S. Stuart, Jr., Ozark; eleven grandchildren, Kathy Ann Walker, Krissy Shevlin, Karen Odom, William Dicrosta, Rosalye Dicrosta, Flowrence Dicrosta, Michael . Mrs. Sara Pierson Brown, 83 died Monday night, Nov. 1, 1999, at her home following a long illness.
Funeral services will be Thursday Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. from Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Hall the Rev. G.L. Wynn and the Rev. Bob Sweet officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. Wednesday until one hour before service time when her body will lie in state at the church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday and at other times the family will be at the home of Mr. Paul Brown, Route 3, Ozark.
Mrs. Brown was born Mar. 2, 1916 in Enterprise. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Chu.rch. She attended Bethel Vnited Methodist Church where she was a member of This and That Club, which auctioned off quilts that were made by the club, proceeds went to the Bethel Cemetery Care Fund which Mrs. Brown, was instrumental in helping to organize.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions are requested to be given to Bethel Cemetery Fund.
She was preceded in death by a wonderful stepmother, Lizzie Pierson, father, Billy E Pierson, two sisters; Jeanell Walkins, Margaret Stone; three brothers, Spencer Pierson, Ollie Baker and Clennie Baker. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Paul Brown, Ozark; four sons and daughter in-laws, Ronald Pierson and Jane Brown, Athens, Tenn.; Larry Thomas and Becky Brown Panama City, Fla.; Billy Brown, Ozark; Ricky and Ericka Brown, Ozark; one sister Elsie Dorman, Dothan; seven grandchildren, Chris, Luci, Andrea, Neal, Summer, Paige Brown and Xan Brown; one great grandchild, Nathan Brown; special lifelong friend, Thelina Baldwin, special friend and niece June Jones, special friend, Elizabeth Hummell, several other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Zenola Faulk Danford, 91, of Oakview Manor Nursing Home (formerly cf Ariton) died Oct. 30, 1999, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be Tuesday Nov. 2, 11 a.m. at Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phil Craddock officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Mrs. Danford was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County and a member of Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Preston Danford and one son, Jack Danford.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Danford and his wife Linda, Montgomery; Herman D. Danford and his wife, Carolyn, Tustin, Ca.; three sisters, Alga Sue Garner, Ozark; Annie Ruth Casey, Clio; Nettie Mae Phillips, Ruskin Fla.; eight grandchildren, Traci Himes, James F. Danford, Mark Dunford, Debra Danford, Jeff Danford and Julie Danford. Several great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Irene M. Mallory, 84, Route 3, Ozark, died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 28, 1999, in Flowers Hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Wood and the Rev. Frank Standifer officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6 p.m. Friday Oct. 29 until funeral time on Saturday.
Mrs. Mallory was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County where she was an active member of Newton First Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Mallory two sons Gene Mallory and Douglas Mallory her parents, Jesse Ewell Matthews and Sallie Mae Dean Matthews, one brother, Comer Matthews and one sister Grace Cobb. Survivors include four daughters Janet Blanton, Ozark; Jackie Simpkins, San Antonio, Texas; Anne Stephens Dothan; Sue Hetrick, Gilbertsville, Penn.; one sister Gladys Stanford, Dothan one brother, Earl Dean Matthews, Ozark; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Luther B. Cheshire, 85, of Eufaula Street, Ozark, died, Sunday morning, Oct. 24, 1999, in Oakview Nursing Facility, Ozark.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Gaither officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Monday until one hour before service time, when the body will be placed in the church. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 6 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be given to Vivian B. Adams School or to the First United Methodist Church of Ozark.
Mr. Cheshire was a member of the First United Methodist Church, counselor for the MYF also the Men's Breakfast Club. He taught the men's Sunday school class for many years. In 1972 he was selected as Ozark's Man of the Year. He was a member of Masonic lodge 908 having transferred from 349 where he had served as secretary for many years. In his earlier years he was active in Little League Baseball as a coach, and was in charge of the Kiwanis Children's Camp held each year in Ozark. He retired from Vivian B. Adams School in 1975.
Survivors include his wife Doris E. Cheshire, Ozark, two daughters and son-in-laws, Shirley and Ken Cantley, Ozark, Charlotte and Dennis Jaroslawuski, Dothan; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Bryan and Dr. Sadie Cheshire, Birmingham; one sister, Elna Monk, Ozark; one brother and sister-in- law, George and Mildred Cheshire, Bethany, Okla.; two sister-in-laws, Jeanne Cheshire; Ozark, Dorothy Cheshire, Oxon Hill, Md.; four grandchildren, Wendy Brasher, Steve Cantley, Karen Godwin, Johnny Jaroslawuski; five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Debby C. Johnson, age 48, of Heather Drive, Ozark, Ala., died Friday Oct. 22, 1999 in Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday in the Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Sweet officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday until service time Monday. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church and a 1969 graduate of Carroll High School. She was a graduate of George C. Wallace Community College in 1971. She was a cosmetologist at Southern Reflections in Ozark, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James Earl McBride and Waldean Reed. Survivors include: her husband, Wade Johnson of Ozark, Ala.; one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Roger Wynne, Mobile, Ala.; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Lori Johnson, Montgomery Ala.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne and Melmullins Garcia of Ozark, Ala., Betsy and Jerry Brickert of Fort Worth, Texas, Brenda and Mike McKay of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sandy and David Bartgis of Fort Worth, Texas; a mother-in-law, Jeanette Johnson, Ozark, Ala.; a special aunt and uncle, O.G. and Bonnie Morrow, Bronson, Texas; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Corene Peacock, age 74, of Ozark, died Thursday morning, Oct. 14, 1999, in The Ozark Nursing Facility.

Burial will be in Lee Cemetery with Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 p.m. Friday until service time. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Fri- day.

Mrs. Peacock was a native of Ozark, the daughter of the late A.C. Farmer and Ella Gray. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was retired from Ozark Cotton Mill and worked several years for the Ozark City School System at Mixon Middle School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Peacock. Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Howard Whitman, Ozark; three brothers, Jim Parmer, Ozark, Cecil Farmer, Ozark, Bib Farmer, Liberty, N.C.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Nannie Mae Gamble Lindsay, 91, of Ozark; formerly of Abbeville, died Oct. 12,1999, at her home after an extended illness.
Services were held Oct 15 at Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with the Revs. John W. Helton Jr. and Thomas D. Gamble officiating. Burial was at the Pilgrim's Rest Free Will Baptist Cemetery.
Mrs. Lindsay was a native of the Wills Crossroads community of Henry County, the daughter of the late Thomas Benjamin Gamble and Eva Pearl Doswell Gamble. She lived most of her lifetime in Abbeville before moving to Ozark in 1997. Mrs. Lindsay was a member of the Pilgrim's Rest Free Will Baptist Church and was self employed for many years in child care.
Mrs. Lindsay was preceded in death by her husband, William Benjamin Lindsay; a daughter, Dannie Lindsay; a son, Billy Lindsay; a sister, Frances Davis; and a brother, Thomas J. Gamble.
Surviving are three daughters: Pauline Howerton, Navarre, Fl; Jeanette Dansby, Ozark and Nellie Bryan, Abbeville; four sisters: Lucille Wills, Abbeville; Evelyn Arnold, Shorterville; Mary Alice,Boyd, Baker Hill, Al.; Myrtle. Terrell, Phoenix, Az.; two brothers: Edsel Adams, Memphis, Tenn.; Herbert Adams, Dothan; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
