She was born Oct. 18, 1946 in Ozark to James and Rachel (Hutto) Riley. On March 27, 1964 at Ft. Sill, Okla., she married Rip Lemings.
She is survived by her husband, Rip Lemings; sons, Terry W. and Stacy L. Lemings; daughter and son-in-law, Ranee JoNa and Bill Sargent all of Roseburg; mother, Rachel Torres, Bryson City, N.C.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Velma and Alvin Lemings Roseburg; brother, Alan Riley, Bonifay, Fla.; sisters, Joyce Green e, Bryson City, N.C.; Rena Pettis, Vernon, Fla.; four grandsons, Brandon, Catlin, Tallen, Jesse; and numerrous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Miss Ozella Sistrunk, 66, of Ozark died Saturday, June 10, 2000. Following a long illness.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 17, at 11 a,m. from the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Sistrunk officiating. Miss Sistrunk is preceded in death by her parents, Climmie and Lillian Sistrunk; two sisters, Alma Sistrunk and Marcella Monon; and four brothers, Cullen Sistrunk, Lewis Sistrunk, Smith T. Sistrunk, and Benzie Sistrunk.

Wayne, In.; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Mrs. Fannie Wilma Cook, 96, of Church Street, Ozark, died Monday evening, June 5, 2000, at her home following a long illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2000, from Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Reverend Isom Hill and the Reverend W L. Sheffield officiating. Interment will be in Center Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 3:00 p.m. today until one hour prior to service time on Thursday when it will be in the Church. The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home parlors from 6-8 p.m. this evening.
Mrs. Cook was a native of Dale County where she worked with Cowikee Mill, for 50 years receiving her 50-year pm at retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Cook; and Sons, Floyd Lowell Cook and John Neal Cook.
Survivors include two daughters, Jimmie Lou Casey, Headland and Ruby F. Willis, Ozark; one son, Ray Don Cook and his wife, Margaret, Meridian, Miss., one half brother, Lunie English, Ariton; seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Annie Brascom, a resident of Ozark, died Monday June 5, 2000, in the Flowers Hospital in Dothan.

Mr. Randall Edward Tullis, age 54, of 104 Peach Lane, died Friday morning at his home.

Mr. Michael Thomas McNeal, age 38, of Ozark, died Friday, May 26, 2000.

Mr. McNeal was. raised in the Napier Field area. He played with several gospel bands and also served in the U.S. Air Force for 10 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Hattie Ruth McNeal; one sister, Shirley Rafiner; and one brother, David (Mitch) Haddan. Also a loving father.

Amy Victoria Burkett, age 28, of Ozark, died Saturday Morning, May 20, 2000, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

George Russell Anderson Sr., age 89, of Ozark, died Friday, May 19, 2000, at Dale Medical Center.
He worked for the C & O Railroad in Grand Rapids, Mich., as a conductor for 45 years.
He was a member of the Bethelham Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. He is preceded in death by his wife, Florence Anderson, in 1997, after 62 years; and a son, George R. Anderson Jr.
He moved from Michigan to Ozark to live with his daughter in 1999.

Mr. Bennie Paul Sanders, 74, of the Ewell Community of Ozark died at his home Wednesday, May 17, 2000, following an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Sanders was a native of the Hamilton Cross Roads community of Pike County, having lived in Ozark most of his adult life. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army, returning to Ozark with the Alabama Farm Bureau Insurance Company as an agent. He then joined Walden Taylor Motor Company, later becoming Walter Hand Ford in Ozark serving as their sales manager for 14 years. He then opened Paul Sanders Motor Company in Ozark, which he and his son operated. He worked with Elmore Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge in Ozark as their sales manager and then in Dothan with Elmore Motor until his retirement. He has remained active with his son in Ronny Sanders Trucking LLC, in Ozark. He was a member and deacon of the Chalkhead Baptist Church and had been a member and past president of the Ozark Civitan Club.
Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife of 55 years, Eudora Cutchen Sanders, Ozark; his daughter, Carolyn Sanders Monk, Ozark; son and his wife, Ronny and Melanie Sanders, Ozark; one brother, Pat Sanders, Ozark; eight grandchildren, Hazan, Kliss, Sloan and Chala Monk, MaLana Monk Hatcher, Trent and Alec Sanders.
Ricky Gerald Todd Smith, 35, of Route 6 in Ozark, died in Flowers Hospital Wednesday, May 17, 2000, following gunshot injuries.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday from Post Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Mr. Smith was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church, and he was employed with Dale Medical Center and Trawick Construction Company of Fort Rucker.

Diana Peterson Smith, 32, died Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2000, in Ozark.

Ms. Smith was a graduate of Enterprise High School and had just received her degree from George C. Wallace Community College in nursing. She was employed with Covan World Wide Moving Company in Midland City as a receiving accountant.

James Edward McQuinn II, age 35, also known as Jim Jr., died Tuesday night, May 16, of injuries from a gunshot.
Visitation will be Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark Friday evening from 6-8:30. A private service will be at a later date.
Jim was born July 14, 1964 in Indianapolis, Ind. He has been a resident of Ozark for the last 23 years. He was a 1982 graduate of Carroll High School. One of his greatest joys in life was bowling both in leagues at Fort Rucker and in tournaments.
He loved being with people, listening to and playing music, especially on his drums, and had a great love of animals. He was employed with Covan World Wide Moving in Midland City where he was in charge of Record Storage.

Mr. Newton Lee (Dusty) Sharp, 44, of Ozark, died Tuesday morning, May 16, 2000, in Dale Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Sharp was born in the Panama Canal Zone, moving to Ozark in 1973, where he attended Carroll High School. He entered into the military service in 1974 and served for three years. Mr. Sharp has made his home in Ozark since 1977.

Retired from the U.S. Army in 1975 after serving 24 years, retired from Civil Service at Fort Rucker in 1993. He was a life time member of the VFW American Legion Post 0020, and the NCOA.

Miss Faye Commander, 92, formerly of Valley View Drive in Ozark, died at Wesley Manor in Dothan Sunday morning, May 14, 2000, following a long illness.

Miss Commander was a graduate of Troy State. She was a teacher in Barbour County. She also served as a first LT. in the U.S. Army in World War 11. Miss Commander was a nurse at Maxwell in Montgomery and at the Crippled Children's Clinic in Montgomery. She was also retired civil service.

Ms. Downey had been a beautician for the past 22 years and was presently employed at Silhouette Hairstyles, Dothan. Ms. Downey was born Jan. 25, 1954, in Geneva County and was preceded in death by her father, Bill Brannon. She lived most of her life in Mobile. She attended Oak Park Church of God in Mobile and Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Dothan.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Sommer Joy Whito, Mobile; her mother, Mary Lou Gainer, Ozark; brother, Gil Brannon, Ozark; two nephews, Ronald Brannon and his wife, Marsha, Slocomb; Dusty Brannon, Ozark; three great-nieces, Morgan, Ashlan, and Devan Brannon, Slocomb; and several aunts and uncles.

Mrs. Yvonne Carroll Dean Clark, age 70, of Faust Avenue, Ozark, died Friday morning, May 12, 2000, at her residence in Ozark after a long illness.

Mrs. Clark was born in Barbour County. She came to Ozark at the time of her first marriage and lived here for over 50 years. She worked for several years at the old Van Heusen Mill, later working at Roses Department Store, Wal-Mart Department Store, and Bill's Grocery. The many people who knew and loved her appreciated her humor and kind heart. A devoted mother, cherished sister and beloved aunt, her family will miss her severely.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Dean of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; C.T. Dean of Ozark; two sisters, Tommie Nenderson of Ozark; Louise Bryan of Dothan; two brothers, Sam Carroll of Dothan; Hugh Carroll of Geneva; 10 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
Mrs. Gladys (Boots) Ayers, age 68, of Wooded Lane, Ozark, died at her home Wednesday morning, May 10, 2000, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Ayers drove a school bus for the Fort Rucker School System for two years. At present, she had been driving for the Ozark School System for the past 20 years.

Mr. Louie Tamplin Jr., 60, of Newton Ave., Ozark, died Saturday, May 6, 2000, in the Dale Medical Center following an extended and courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2000, from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Gaither and Rev. Michael Lawler officiating. Interment will be in the Westview Memorial Cemetery Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be from 4-6 tonight at the funeral home.
Mr. Tamplin was born in Ozark, April 26, 1940. He was the son of Louie and Annie Martha Adams Tamplin. He received his early education in the Ozark City Schools, graduating from Carroll High School in 1958. He earned his BS Degree from Auburn University in 1963, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and the Auburn University Marching Band. He received a Masters degree in Education from Troy State University. He taught music education at Fort Rucker Elementary School and then science at D.A. Smith Middle School in Ozark until his retirement in 1994.
Mr. Tamplin was a member of the Ozark First United Methodist Church where he actively participated in the Chancel Choir and served many years as pianist for the 11 a.m. worship service.
While courageously battling his own illness, Mr. Tamplin brought encouragement and hope to all with whom he came in contact.
He is survived by his brother and wife, Dr. John and Marilyn Tamplin of Ozark; nephew, Frank Tamplin of Atlanta, Ga.; his niece and her husband, Marye Bess and Brent Browning and daughter, Marye Grace Browning of Ozark; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Kirke Adams, Ozark; Joe W. Adams, Marietta, Ga.; Scott Parker, Dothan; Ben Reeves Jr., Eufaula; Adam Reeves, Atlanta, Ga.; Joe Parker, Eufaula; and Charles Waid, Dothan.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be given to the Dale Medical Center Foundation or charity of choice.
Mrs. Johnnie Merritt, age 89, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, in the Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday May 9, 2000, in the First Missionary Baptist Church on East Andrews Ave. in Ozark with the Pastor Dr. S.C. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Old Ozark City Cemetery with Trawick Funeral Home directing.
There will be a wake Monday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Otis L. Coffin, 82, of Ozark, died Monday, May 1, 2000, in a Montgomery hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6 2000, from St. John Catholic Church, with Father Benedict Sellers, O.S.B., officiating. Interment will be in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 3 p.m. today with family receiving friends in the funeral home parlors from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening.
Mr. Coffin was a native of Oakland, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II prior to moving to Panama, where he enjoyed living for 20 years. He then moved to Ozark, where he retired from Civil Service following 35 years of service, Mr. Coffin enjoyed wood working, Native American history boxing and country music.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Coffin, Ozark; two daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Luz and Ralph Woods, Dothan; Luz Maria and Robert LeMonte, Ozark; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Leonard Otis Coffin, Ozark; Frank Eugene and Renee Coffin, Tuscaloosa; and 10 grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Rex Lamar Tharpe, age 48, of Ozark, died at his home Saturday April 29, 2000.
Services will be from the funeral home chapel Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. William Baker officiating. Burial will follow from the Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include six sisters, Jeanette Williams Ozark, Jerry Spivey, Skipperville; Jean Walker, Clio; Mary Dudley Eufaula; Merle Simmons, Eufaula; Johnnie Wells, Barrington, Mich.; two brothers, Kenneth Tharpe, Ozark; Bruce Tharpe, Eufaula; and several nieces and nephews.
