Mr. Wilson Eugene Andrews, age 83 of Ozark, died Friday April 28, 2000, at the veterans hospital in Tuscaloosa after a long illness.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. from Clay Bank Cemetery in Ozark with the Rev Tommy Martin officiating and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.
The family ask that food and flowers be omitted.
Survivors include one sister, Miss Willie B. Andrews, Ozark; one brother, Mr. Corbie L. Andrews, Ozark; four nieces, Sara Wines, Colorado; Elden Trotter Taylor; Patsy Clearman, Dothan; and Elizebeth Hartzog, Ariton; one nephew, Mark Andrews, Ozark.
Mrs. Inez Welch, age 82, of Ozark, died at her daughter's home on White Oak Bend, Ozark, Wednesday, April 26, 2000, following a long illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday from the Concord Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Smith and the Rev.
Dr. Billy Bruner officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will begin tonight at 6 p.m. from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston until one hour prior to service, when her body will be at the church. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. M. Welch, in 1965; son, Ernest Welch, in 1999; a sister, Ester Noble; and a brother, Perry Thompson.
She was a good mother and homemaker to her family. She was a member of the Concord Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Ed Kirkland of Ozark; Alice and Joe Allums of Dublin, Ga.; Rebbecca and Eric Capps of Dothan; four sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie Welch of Dothan; Tony and Lynn Welch of Skipperville; Lynn and Lisa Welch of Ozark; Glynn and Tami Welch of Skipperville; three sisters, Lola Bell Roberts of Clio; Etta Mae Meeks of Alma, Ga.; Vera Bell of Dothan; two
brothers, Hazen Thompson of Skipperville; Hoover Thompson of Skipperville; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Elma Bowman Gunter, 94, of Eufaula Street, Ozark, died Wednesday evening, April 26, 2000, in Oakview Manor Nursing Home following a long illness.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Isom Hill officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Gunter was a native of Ozark, where she was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Howell, Ozark; two sisters, Ruby Searcy, Ozark; Beatrice Vaughn, Dothan; one brother, James Edwin Bowman, Dothan four grandchildren, Judy Coots Dale Boynton, Eddie Howell Roxie Riley all of Ozark; eight great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Mrs. Flora Byrd Head, age 92, of Ozark, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. from Woodlawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Joseph W. Lisenby officiating. Interment will follow with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Head was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Judge Alton Head. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preston O,Neal Wiggins, 79, of Ozark died Monday, April 24, 2000, at Dale Medical Center following an extended illness.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 26, at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Chaplain Talmadge Butler officiating and Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Wiggins was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County where he was in the logging business.
Survivors include his wife, Lucile Tomlin Wiggins of Ozark; seven daughters, Laura Yoemans, Shirley English, both of Ozark, Joyce Bell of Pensacola, Fla., Patricia Carter of Dickerson, Ann Price and Geraldine White, both of Cullman; and Nita Best of Hayden; four sons, Roger Wiggins of Pensacola, Fla., O'Neal Wiggins, David Wiggins, and Jimmy Wiggins, all of Ozark; four sisters, Nellie Rae McCoy of Atlanta, Bonnie Ruth Thomas of Midland City, Mattie Pearl Young, and Mary Frances Williams, both of Ozark; two brothers, Lehrnan Wiggins and Derryl Wiggins, both of Ozark; and several grandchildren.
Cecil David Andrews, 86, of Ozark died Monday, April 24, 2000, at an Ozark nursing facility following a long illness.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, at Post Oak Baptist Church with the Rev John Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Andrews was a member and deacon emeritus of Post Oak Baptist Church, and served in many other positions of the church. He was a native and life-long resident of Dale County. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service, Jitney Jungle Grocery in Ozark, and drove a school bus for the Ozark School He owned and operated Andrews Grocery Store from 1957 until 1993 when he retired.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ennis Shirah Andrews of Ozark; two daughters, Annice Bloss of Montgomery, Kathy Windham of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one son, Michael David (Mickey) Andrews of
Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Frances Wall of Enterprise, Catherine Chandler of Wetumpka; two brothers, Rev. Cullen Andrews of Enterprise, Curtis Andrews of Ozark; six grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.

Mrs. Rebecca Dobson, age 70, of Ozark, died Monday April 24, 2000.

Mrs. Dobson was a member of D.A.R., D.C.U. of Tampa, Fla., American Association of Women, Hillsborough Retired Educators, Florida
Retired Educators Association, AARP (NRTA Division), 1999 Who's Who in the South and Southwest, and 2000 Who's Who in the World. She authored "Woe and Giddiup". and "Possums Run Over Their Graves" (genealogy books), as well as "Grits, Green s and Gumbo" southern ancestors cookbook. Mrs. Dobson was born and raised in Kinston. She graduated from Kinston High School and University of Tampa, Fla. She taught school for 30 years in Tampa.
Mrs. Dobson is preceded in death by her father, Marcus Enelon Newsom; mother, Henrietta Elizabeth Fleming; and stepfather, Harry Thomas (Bud) Norton. She is survived by her husband, Bernard (Bernie) Dobson of Ozark.
Idell Robinson Sketoe, age 89, of Ozark Route 1, Echo Community, died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, April 19, 2000, at her home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in the Echo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Craddock and Pastor Betty Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Echo Cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the mortuary in Headland.
Mrs. Sketoe was a lifelong resident of the Echo Community in Dale County, the daughter of the late Milton B. Robinson and Mary Ella Mathis Robinson. She was a member of the Echo United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Sketoe was preceded in death by her husband, C. E. Sketoe Sr.; and son, C. E. Sketoe Jr.
Surviving are two daughters, Peggy McDaniel, Echo; and Hilda Williams, Dothan; three grandchildren, Kim McDaniel, Echo; Yvette Williams and Brent Williams, both of Dothan; sister-in-law, Martha Robinson, Black; several nieces and a great-nephew also survive.

Mr. Calvin J. Turner Sr., 83, of Ozark the Peniel Community died Wednesday April 19, 2000, in a Dothan hospital,following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Billy Gaither and the Rev William Arnold Baker officiating. Interment will be in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.

Mr. Turner was a native of Dale County where he worked as a foreman with B. F. Williams Construction Company for 23 years, and with S. A. Graham Construction Company in Brundidge. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark and the John Wesley Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Dortis Wilkinson Turner Skipperville, one daughter and son-in-law Lorraine Sanders and her husband, John, Tallahassee; one son and daughter-in-law Calvin Turner Jr. and his wife, Judy; three sisters, Gladys Merle Barker, Hopkinsville, Ky; Bemice Carpenter Columbus, Ga.; Jean Millican, Umatilla, Fla.; one brother Elwood Tumer Blue Springs; six grandchildren, Lynn Godfrey Brain Turner David Turner, Denise Fulghum, Rob Sanders, Lori Sanders; and six great-grand-children also survive.
Mr. Nelson Taylor, 87, of the Pleasant Grove Community of Ozark, died Tuesday afternoon, April 18, 2000, in the Dale Medical Center following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday April 20 2000 from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Davis and the Rev. Dr. Charles Gann officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mr. Taylor was a native of the Pleasant Grove Community where he farmed and later worked with the Dale County Road Department as heavy equipment operator for 11 years to his retirement. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving him is his daughter, Mary Taylor Batchlor, Ozark; son, Joseph Taylor, Ozark; grandchildren, Caren Batchlor Goodson, Dothan; Joel Batchlor, Ozark; great-great-grandchildren Haley and Brett Goodson and Jacob Batchlor; sister, Edna Taylor Harris, Ozark; brother, Maxie Taylor Newton; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Johnnie Evie Wright, age 92, of Ozark, died April 15, 2000 at the Ozark Nursing Facility after an extended illness.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church. She will lie in state for one hour prior to the service at the church. Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. James Harben and the Rev. Harry Stewart will officiate.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents, John and Essie Enfinger; her husband of 54 years, Cazzie C. Wright; one son S.D. (Dolphus) Wright; two grandsons, Jack (Hugh) Wright Jr. and Jerry Willis' two sisters, Irene Davidson and Julie Hobbs, three brothers, Robert, Pete and Morris Enfinger.
She also was the oldest member of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters Aruue Kate and Gene Dossett, Ozark, and Lucille and Leon G. Willis, Ozark; a daughter-in-law, Jeanelle Wright, Columbus, Ga.; two sons James and Reba Wright, Ozark, and Jack and Margie Wright, Ozark; 10 grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Essie Hudson, a resident of Ozark, died Friday, April 14, at her residence in Ozark.

Mr. Andrew Joseph Parasso, 60, of Gunter Street died Friday evening, April 14, 2000, in a Dothan hospital following an long illness.

Mr. Parasso was bom in Newburyport Mass. and lived his early life there. He lived in many different places after joining the U.S. Army and made Ozark his home for the past 20 years.
Mr. Parasso is preceded in death by his son, Andrew W. Parasso, and his parents, Frances and Andrew J. Parasso Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Inge N. Parasso, Ozark; one daughter, Janet Miller, Gulf Breeze, Fla.; four grandchildren; five sisters and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. James W Stubbs, 89, of Ozark died Friday morning, April 14, 2000, at his home.

Mr. Stubbs was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County where he was engaged in farming. He served on the Board of Directors of Alabama Farm Bureau. He also served as past president of Dale County Farm Bureau, the Georgia, Florida, Alabama Peanut Producers Association, and chairman of the Board of Directors of Dale County Hospital, and was active in other civic organizations. He was an active member of Pleas ant Ridge Baptist Church, serving as chairman of deacons and other offices in the church.
Mr. Stubbs is survived by his wife, Rosa Helms Stubbs, Ozark; two daughters and one son-in-law Ann Stubbs Deloney, Carabelle, Fla., Judy Stubbs Reeves and her husband Dr. Lynn Reeves, Daleville; one sister Onida Paulk, Ozark; four grandchildren, Winston Deloney, Atlanta, Ga.; Max Reeves, Dothan; Callie Brown, Lexington Ky.; Kim Horvath, Atlanta Ga.; and five great-grandchildren also survive.

Tyler Maxwell Tharpe, 4, of Ozark, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, in Blountstown, Fla., following a drowning accident.

Mrs. Bessie Riley Espinosa, 86, of Santa Cruz, Calif. formerly of Ozark, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in a Santa Cruz hospital following an extended illness.

Interment will follow in Old Center United Methodist Cemetery in Henry County with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Espinosa was a native of Ozark, the daughter of the late Lela Riley and Thomas Henry Riley. She moved to Santa Cruz, Calif., where she made her home and worked as a dietitian in a Santa Cruz hospital until her retirement.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Jean Rebore, Santa Cruz, Calif.; one sister, Maedell Chandler, Leesburg, Ga.; one brother, Veston Riley, Smiths; two grandsons, Paul Rebore, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Joe Rebore and his wife, Donna, Bedford, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Lela Jean Lee Rebore, San Jose, Calif.; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Cleta B. Thomas, age 85, of Ozark, died Tuesday April 4, 2000.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of Ewell Bible Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Thomas. She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Willean Liu of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren David Liu of San Antonio, Texas; Cathy and Lamar Scott of Seattle, Wash.; Steven and Marie Liu of San Antonio, Texas; Darryl and Liz Liu of Austin, Texas; ]ohn and Diania Liu of Tucson, Ariz.; and Darlene Liu of Dallas, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Aleen Mitchell, formally of Rocky Ridge Community, died Sunday at the age of 93 at the Ozark Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 this evening.
Mrs. Mitchell was born June 30, 1906. She resided in Birmingham from 1946-1997. She was a retired school principal after teaching for 43 years in Alabama and Tennessee. Her last years were spent as principal of Hall-Kent and Green Valley Elementary School.
She was a member of the Homewood Church of Christ, the Sonshiners, and the Adult Sunday School class. Mrs. Mitchell was listed in "Who's Who" of South- ern Personalities in 1967. She was a member of the Retired Principal Association, AEA Teachers Association, NEA Teachers Association, Kappa Kappa Iota, Alpha Delta Kappa, Antiques and Allied Art Club, Women's Club, Wa-Ka-Pa Literary Club and the Bercan Study Club.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by a son and daughter-in- law, Jerry and Pat Mitchell of Ozark; granddaughters, Mrs. Lee Steltenpohl of Dothan; Mrs. Kathy Gill of Ozark; five great-grandchildren, Mrs. Leigh Ann Paramore of Troy; Jason Steltenpohl of Franklin, Tenn.; Josh Steltenpohl of Dothan; Blake and Kevin Gill of Ozark; sister, Mrs. Audry Florence of Gardendale; two brothers, Mr. Grace Mikell of Decatur; Mr. Oscar Mikell of Smoke Rise.

Carl Denton Cooper Sr., 73, of 117 Judson Drive, Ozark died Friday, March 31, 2000 at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Cooper was born July 28, 1926, in Columbus, Ga., and lived the early years of his life there. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Air Force. Upon his military retirement in 1967, he made is home in Ozark and began working with civil service at Fort Rucker until his retirement in 1993.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl Denton Cooper Jr. and his wife Cornelia Fryer Cooper, Dothan, and James Ernest Cooper and his wife Ruby Doris Cooper, Ozark; two daughters and a son-in-law, Joanne Marie Cooper, Mary Elizabeth and Bob Gunter, all of Ozark; three grandsons, James Thomas Cooper, Ozark, Denton Thomas Cooper, Dothan, and Robert Dylan Gunter, Ozark; two grand-daughters, Beth Cooper, Dothan, and Ciara Marie Cooper, Ozark; a brother and sister-in-law, Durwood B. and Ruth Cooper, Cowarts; a sister-in-law, Vivian B. Cooper, Ozark.
Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his wife Agnes Vigil Cooper, who died in 1991.
Mrs. Annie J. Power Glover, age 89, of Ozark, died March 30, 2000 after a long illness.

Lenward Lee (Len) Brackin, age 61, died Tuesday, March 28 2000 at Ozark Nursing Facility following an extended illness.
Funeral service for Mr. Brackin will be 3 p.m. today in Mt. Siani Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie W. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Hammond Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Brackin attended public schools in Newville. He was an employee of Morrison's Food Services, lnc., as a chef for 38 years. He was a faithful member and deacon of Stephen Temple CP Church of Chattanooga,
Tenn.

Mr. Griggs was a native of Ozark, where he graduated from Carroll High School in 1975 and attended the University of Alabama. He was a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch for six years and the past 11 years had been with Correct Craft of Orlando, serving as vice president of Southeast Correct Craft. He was presently general manager and director of regional sales for Northwest Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. He had received his private pilots license in March of
1999, an achievement for which he was proud. He was a member of the Skipperville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dennie and Bob Moorehead, Skipperville, and Amy Griggs, Birmingham; his mother, Elizabeth Brown Griggs, Skipperville; and his nephew, Heath Moorehead, Skipperville.
Miss Annie Laura Skipper, 67, of Ozark, Ewell Community, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, in Jackson County Convalescent Center in Graceville, Fla.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday from Chalkhead Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy West, W. L. Sheffield and Larry Skipper officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be the funeral home parlors from 6 p.m. this evening until one hour prior to service time on Saturday when it will be in the church. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening.
Miss Skipper was a native of the Ewell Community where she attended Chalkhead Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon B. Skipper, her stepmother, Lonie Griggs Skipper, and three brothers.
Survivors include two sisters, Audrey Wolff and her husband, Bobby, Ozark, and Charlotte Ross, St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Charles Skipper and his wife, Sue, Ozark, and Larry Skipper and his wife, Jean, Farmington, Mo.
