Mrs. Eddith Andrews Harrell, 80 of County Road 18, Ozark, died Wednesday evening, July 2 2003, at her home after a long illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday July 5 at Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Talmadge Kennedy and Chaplain Randall Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6 p.m. Friday to service time Saturday. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home parlors. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 E. Andrews Ave., Ozark, Ala. 36360.
Mrs. Harrell was a native and life-long resident of Dale County. Her life was devoted to her family her farm, and her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Early Bascom and Ester Bright Andrews; one sister, Foy Bass; and two brothers, Toy Andrews and Roy Andrews.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, John Ed Harrell of Newton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Roy McKnight of Newton, Renee and Frank Kingsley of Ozark, and Jewania and Bob Zarbo of Frederick, Md.; 10 grandchildren, Sheryl Jernigan and her husband, Ken, of Newton, Joy Standifer and her husband, Jeff, of Birmingham, David Shaw and his wife Dawn, of Yuba City, Calif., Kris Spurlock and her husband, Donny, of Baton Rouge, La., Scott Shaw and his wife, Tiffany, of Ozark, Kimberly Marichalar and her husband, John, of Phoenix, Ariz., Christopher Zarbo of Pasadena, Calif., Jamey Kingsley of Ozark, Jennifer Hinson and her husband, B. T., of Apalachicola, Fla., and Janan Hussey and her husband, Lee, of Troy; 13 great-grandchildren, Shelby Shaw, MacKenzie Shaw, Rylan Knight, Zackery Shaw, Tyler Hussey, Bryant Hussey, Jordan Shaw Logan Marichalar, Carlie Zarbo, A. J. Jernigan, Maddie Standidfer, Emily Standifer and Lydia Standifer; one sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Horace Creamer of Dothan; two sisters-in-law Sue Andrews of Midland City, and Frances Andrews of Pinckard; one brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Rebecca Andrews of Midland City

Luther Jackson Stevens, 90 of South County Road 67, between Midland City and Echo, died Wednesday afternoon, July 2, 2003, at Ozark Health & Rehabilitation Center after a short illness.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday July 4 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Peters and Dr. Donald Cavitt officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Enon Baptist Church, c/o Charles Stevens, 3478 S. County Road 67, Midland City, Ala. 36350.
Mr. Stevens was a lifelong resident of the Christian Hill community in Dale County, the son of the late Wiley Jackson Stevens and Mittie Deal Stevens. He formerly served as a director of the Dale County Farm Bureau. Mr. Stevens retired as a farmer. He was an army veteran of World War II and was a deacon at Mt. Enon Baptist Church.
Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by four sisters, Dollie Herndon, Lillian Mason, Nancy Dykes and Imogene Harrison; and three brothers, Clayton .Stevens, Glenn Stevens and Lloyd Stevens.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Inez Eldridge Stevens of Midland City; a daughter, Phyllis Parker and her husband, Don Parker, of Midland City; two sons, Charles Stevens and his wife, Syretha Stevens, of Midland City, Ronnie Stevens and his wife, Marsha Stevens, of Blountstown, Fla.; four grandchildren, Luke Stevens and his wife, Heather Stevens, of Headland, Keisha Stevens of Dothan, Dwayne Stevens and his wife, Jennifer Stevens, of Ozark, Jeri Cullifer and her husband, Jody
Cullifer, of Atlanta, Ga.; four great-grandchildren, Justin Cullifer, Alex Stevens, Will Stevens and Joshua Stevens; four sisters-in-law, Ethel Stevens of Midland City Irene Stevens of Dothan, Nell Cook of Midland City, and Eunice Eldridge of Midland City.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Luke Stevens, Dwayne Stevens, Jody Cullifer, Steve Stevens, Dale Stevens, Scott Stevens and Dwight Stevens.

Mr. Marvin J. Dunn, 78 of Ozark, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at his residence following a long illness.
The funeral will be Wednesday July 2, 2003, at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. The Reverend Randy Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home from.6-8 tonight.
Mr. Dunn served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Civil Service, Civil Engineer Division. Mr. Dunn also worked as a carpenter and loved fishing and gardening.
He was preceded m death by his parents, Richard Kirkland Dunn and Etta Russin Dunn; wife, Nancy MaeBell Dunn; and two brothers, Buck Dunn and Roscoe Dunn.
Survivors: two daughters, Beverley Vaughn of Ozark, and Cynthia Dunn Waters of White Springs, Fla.; two sisters, Clyde Segler of Albany Ga., and Eloise Edwards of Skipperville; two brothers, Lewie Frank Dunn and Ed Adkinson, both of Ozark; five grandchildren, Jim Walk, Calvin Walk, Ashley Waters, Misty Vaughn, and Angela Clawson; three great-grandchildren, Brittani Powell, Devin Walk, and Joshua Walk; and special friend, his dog, Jake.

Mr. Billy Curtis Newman, 69 of Ozark, died Sunday June 29, 2003, at Dale Medical Center.
Visitation will be held from Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home from 5-7 tonight with family receiving friends during this time.
Mr. Newman was a retired U.S. Mail Carrier. He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Newman; and two brothers, Bob Newman and Cot Newman.
Survivors: two sons, Terry C. and Lisa Newman of Enterprise, Ronald D. and Shannon Newman of Newnan, Ga.; daughter-in-law Wanda Newman of Dothan; and 11 grandchildren.

Mr. Waldon H. Hagler, 92 of Ozark, died early Thursday morning, June 26, 2003, at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28 at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Peters and the Rev. Jim Hill officiating, Entombment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Holman Funeral Home of Ozark. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time Saturday. Flowers will be omitted and memorial contributions may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 1971 Deese Road, Ozark, Ala. 36360, or to Salem Baptist Church, c/o Mrs. Melba Segers, 3125 County Road 23, Ariton, Ala. 36311.
Mr. Hagler was a native of the Peniel Community of Dale County and lived most of his life in the Salem Community, where he attended the Blue Springs School. He was a member and deacon Emeritus at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman and Mattie Johnson Hagler; sister, Evie Hagler Spivey; brothers, Durwood Hagler and Edward Hagler; grandsons, Jeff and David Hagler; daughter-in-law, Ruth Arrington Hagler.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Vella Mae Shirah Hagler of Ozark; three sons and their wives, Wilmer Hagler of Columbus, Ga., Don Hagler and his wife, Gail, of Hartford, Harvey Hagler and his wife, Merle, of Dothan; grandchildren, Jody Edge and her husband, Tony Jenny Merritt and her husband, Mark, Greg Hagler, Karl Hagler and his wife, Elaine, Sherry Snell and her husband, Brent; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Kate Reynolds and her husband, Gordon, of Hendersonville, N.C.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Greg Hagler and Karl Hagler; nephews, Johnny Helmes, Marlin Shirah Jr., Tharel Shirah, and Browder Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and Salem Baptist Church.

Mr. Ulysses A. (Tony) Belcher, 39 of Ozark, died Thursday, June 26, 2003, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 30 at the Church of God by Faith on King Street Ozark with pastor Elder J.C. Smith officiating. Burial will be at Greater Old Salem Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Ozark.

Mrs. Mary Ella Turner Cantrell, 79 of Ozark, died Tuesday morning, June 24, 2003, at Dale Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 26 at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev Forrest Weekley of Skipperville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holman Funeral Home, 995 S. Union Ave., Ozark.
Mrs. Cantrell was a native and life-long resident of Dale County, the daughter of Estelle Parrish Tumer and Obie Turner. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Paramore; and one brother Billy Turner.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard Cantrell of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lamar and Sharon Cantrell of Cummings, Ga., Sammy O. and Melanie Cantrell of Hodgesville; one brother, Sammy Joe Turner of Ozark; five grandchildren, Brandy and Jason Cantrell, Keith Cantrell and his wife, Teresa, Ashley Paramore and his wife, Laura, Jennifer Polumbo and her husband, Billy; five great grandchildren, Logan and Keegan Cantrell, Aaron and Hayden Polumbo, and Janna Paramore.

Mr. Ray J. Barefield, 83 of Ozark, died Monday afternoon, June 23, 2003, at his home after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday June 26 at Post Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Moore and Chaplain Randall Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Ariton Cemetery with full Military Honors. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holman Funeral Home, 995 South Union Avenue, Ozark. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 E. Andrews Ave., Ozark, Ala. 36360.
Mr. Barefield was a native of Dale County the son of Theodosia Pippin Barefield and James Lewis Barefield. In 1940, Mr. Barefield served in the Civil Conservation Corps, working in Oregon. In July 1941, he joined the United States Army serving in the European Theater during World War II and in the Korean conflict, retiring after 21 years.
While serving in the Army, he attained the rank of staff sergeant, and received the Purple Heart Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, European Campaign Medal (three battle stars) World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany), National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal (two battle stars), United Nations Service Medal (Korea) and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
After his military service, Mr. Barefield worked with Civil Service at Fort Rucker for 20 years. He was an active member and Deacon Emeritus at Post Oak Baptist Church. He was a member of the Ozark Masonic Lodge #349 and the National Association of Civil Service Employees.
He was preceded in death by six sisters, Elease Carr, Donnie Ketchum, Lewie Stanton, Eva Powell, Allie Brown, and Nora Edwards; and one brother, Comer Barefield.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Hall Barefield of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Jan Barefield of Huntsville, Mark and Diane Barefield of Montgomery; five grandchildren, Rebekah, Ryan, Bethany Patrick, and Shannon Barefield.

Mr. Frank A. Wuolukka Jr., age 64, of Ozark died Monday, June 23, 2003, at Dale Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday June 28 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Father Brendan Keller and the Rev. Ruben Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with full military rites. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions to VOCAL, P.O. Box 4449, Montgomery, Ala. 36103 or American Heart Association, 904 W. Main, Dothan, Ala. 36303.
Mr. Wuolukka served in the U.S. Army for 21 years and retired as a staff sergeant E-6. He also worked for 17 years at DynCorp, Ft. Rucker, Ala.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Wuolukka; and a granddaughter, Melissa Wuolukka.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Ottilie Wuolukka of Ozark; three sons, Frank (Sue) Wuolukka of Ogden, Utah, Michael (Lana) Wuolukka of Lizella, Ga., and Mark Wuolukka of Ozark; two sisters, Carolyn Gresika of Merril, Mich., and Audrey Turbin of Brant, Mich.; three brothers, Rick Wuolukka, Earl Wuolukka, and Carl Wuolukka, all of Merril, Mich.; three grandchildren, Alana, April and Mark Wuolukka; and one great-grandson, Hunter Wuolukka.

Mr. Sherman Virgil Roberts, 80 of Knight Circle in Newton, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at his residence.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at Newton Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Andy J. Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Newton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. today. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Roberts was born August 15, 1921, in Dale County, the son of the late Lloyd Roberts and Della Laura Ann Roberts. He loved his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Shelburn Roberts and Lewie Frank Roberts; two grandchildren, Randall Eugene Aplin, and Christina Taylor.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Roberts, Newton; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Della and Frank Watson, Newton; Mildred McCall, Tumbleton; Marie and Dewey Enfinger, Wicksburg; Melissa and Rikki Williams, Newton; three sons and daughter-in-law, J. R. Roberts, Newton; Lee and Deborah Roberts, Newton; Joe Roberts, Newton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Wendell Woodham, Dothan; Etoula and William West, Dothan; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Jackie Roberts, Warren Robbins, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. His grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Mary Lavelle Flake, 70 of Route 1, Ozark, died Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2003, in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2003, in Holman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Harry Circle officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Sunday until service time with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening.
Mrs. Flake was a native of Vernon, Ala., living in various places while her husband served in the United States Navy. She was a registered nurse and listed in Who's Who in American Junior Colleges.
Mrs. Flake was preceded in death by her son Mitchell Flake. Survivors include her husband, Harvey Flake, Ozark; three sons, Michael Flake, Hephzibah, Ga.; Mark Flake, Columbus, Ga.; and Morris Flake, Ozark; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Ruth B. Lyles, 63 of Ozark, died at her home Wednesday morning, June 18, 2003, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday June 20 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Frey and Chaplain Randal Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Ozark. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Lyle was born Sept. 11, 1939, in Ebingen, Germany, the daughter of the late Richard and Atrmine Bleibler. She was employed with Chandler Furniture of Dothan for 23 years.
She is survived by her husband of 4l. years, Davis A. Lyle of Ozark; three daughters, Yvonne Bryant of Ozark, Debra Wilkerson of Grand Canyon, Ariz. Blanche Wright of Huntsville; 10 grandchildren, Sydney and Allen Hickox, Jason, Joseph, Jonathan and Angela Wilkerson, Daniel, Mathew and Andrew Wright.

Lt. Albert Edward Mileshosky, 66 of Ozark, died Monday June 16, 2003 at his residence after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday June 20 at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel with Father Joseph Sellers and John Gaudet officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Lt. Mileshosky, a Pennsylvania native, attended Penn State University and worked for ALOCA Aluminum in Pennsylvania for several years before moving to Ozark. He attended Police Academy and numerous police-associated courses and worked for the Ozark Police Department for 24 years. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include wife, Roberta Mileshosky of Ozark; one son, Fred John Diodato of Detroit, Mich.; one sister Elaine Mileshosky of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Elwood Mileshosky of Philadelphia, Pa., and John Mileshosky of Harrisburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Karissa Gilmore, Jonathan Diodato, and Jusha Diodato; two great-grandchildren: Jarrod Joseph Gilmore and Stone Nathan Gilmore.
