Mr. Antonio Cruz Garriga, 90 of Ozark, died Monday everung, Jan. 5, 2004, at his home after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday Jan. 9, at the chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Chaplain Randall Johnson and Father David Vecherer officiating.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens, The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 E. Andrews Ave., Ozark, Ala. 36360, or American Cancer Society 2346 W. Main St., Suite 3, Dothan, Ala. 36303.
Mr. Garriga was a native of Puerto Rico and has lived in the United States for many years. He retired as a truck driver and enjoyed gardening. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Felicita Cruz and Carmen Colon; four brothers, Pablo Cruz, Juan Cruz, Julio Cruz, and Ramon Cruz.
Survivors include his wife, Argelia Cruz, Ozark; rune children, Antonia Figueroa and spouse, Esteban, Puerto Rico, Felicita Correa and spouse, Manuel, Puerto Rico, Luis Antonio Cruz and spouse, Loretta, New York, Jose Alberto Cruz and spouse, Vivian, Florida, Gladys Lugo and spouse, Rafael, Puerto Rico, Milady Gonzalez and spouse, Orlando, Fla., Nilsa A. Hall and spouse, Bobby M., Ozark, Amilda Cruz, Ozark, Richard F. Cruz and spouse, Mary Eliz-abeth, Puerto Rico; 27 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Casket bearers will be Woody Head, Morris Armstrong, Steve King, Noel Gilmer, Scott J. Hall and William Patrick.

Mrs. Lucy G. Shaw, 94 of Clio died Monday afternoon, Jan. 5, 2004, at Ozark Nursing Facility after an extended illness.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Pea River Cemetery with Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Roberta Segers, 293 Pebble Creek Circle, Ozark. Flowers will he accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Family Life Center, First United Methodist Church, 167 E. Broad St., Ozark, Ala. 36360 or Covenant Hospice 207 W. Adams S., Dothan, Ala. 36301.
Mrs. Shaw was born and reared in Abbeville, Ala., the daughter of the late James Alexander Griffin and Lee Ola Ingram Griffin. She attended Troy Normal College and taught school for several years. She moved to Clio in 1966 and was an active member of Pea River Presbyterian Church and the Clio Senior Citizens. Mrs. Shaw moved to Ozark in 1997 and had been a resident of Ozark Nursing Facility since 2000.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Wilton Segers of Ozark; three grandchildren, Kathy Segers of St. Helena, Calif., Mike Segers of Ozark, and Tim Segers and wife Jennifer, of Birmingham; and one great-granddaughter Eleanor Segers of Birmingham.

Mrs. Dorothy Dowling Kolb, 93 of Ozark, died Monday evening, Jan. 5, 2004, at Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at First United Methodist Church of Ozark with the Rev. Joe Reams, the Rev. Marty Hamilton and the Rev. Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark City Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark until one hour prior to service time Thursday when the body will be in the church. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 m. Wednesday at the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ozark First United Methodist Church, 167 E. Broad St., Ozark, Ala. 36360, or Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 E. Andrews Ave., Ozark, Ala. 36360.
Mrs. Kolb was born Dec. 19, 1910, in Enterprise, Ala., the daughter of John Tolbert Dowling and Cora Warren Dowling. Mrs. Kolb, a retired school teacher, was a member of the Ozark First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Mary Tarver Carroll Sunday School Class and Circle One United Methodist Women. She was a life member of the Ozark Book Club, and a former member of the Dale County Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Kolb Sr.; three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters Ann Kolb Garner and her husband, Gifford S. Garner, Ozark, Mary Lou Kolb McNair and her husband, Dr. Daniel P. McNair, Daphne; one son, William Paul Kolb Jr. and his wife, Carolyn Foster Kolb, Navarre, Fla.; six grandchildren, Susan Garner Bates and her husband, William Douglas, Birmingham Dr. Dorothy Garner Gaylord and her husband, Dr. John F. Gaylord, III, Roanoke, Va. Marian McNair Ketcham and her husband, Charles, Monrovia, Calif., Anna McNair, Albuquerque, N.M., Paul Leonidus Kolb and his wife, Yvonne, Aptos, Calif., Karla Kolb Gardner and her husband, Christopher, Boise Idaho; seven great-grandchildren, Sarah Caroline Bates, Eliza Ann Gaylord, Allison Leigh (Allie) Gaylord, John Young, William Kolb, Nicholas Kolb, and Cullen Gardner.

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Ruggiero, 83 of Ozark, died Sunday Jan. 4, 2004, at Oakview Manor Nursing Facility.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Rocky Head Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time Friday. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, Ala. 36302.
Mrs. Ruggiero was born in Plainfield, N.J., moved to Miami, Fla., in 7957, and to Ozark in 1982. She was a volunteer (Pink Lady) at Dale Medical Center, a member of Rocky Head Baptist Church, and of Rocky Head Quilters Club. She will be missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Perazzini; and one sister, Mildred Prudhon.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Bobbie Sullivan, Ozark; one sister, Lois MacDonald, New Jersey; three grandchildren, Kristi Perkins and her husband, Kichard, Augie Perazzini and his wife, Susan, and Tony Sullivan; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Perazzini and Francis Perazzini.

Mr. John H. Matthews, "Do-Fever " died Sunday Jan. 4, 2004, at the Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan, 8, 2004, m the Greater Old Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Ozark with the pastor, the Rev. Washington Virgil, officiating Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Dale Cordle, 58 of Newton, died Saturday moming January 3, 2004, at her residence after a long illness.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev Al Norris and the Rev. Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel.
Mrs. Cordle was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was employed with First Med of Dothan until her illness forced her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Cordle of Newton; two daughters, Ahlena and husband, Troy Gove, of Hampton, Va., Stephanie and husband, Tim Jeter, of Level Plains; two stepdaughters, Courtney Cobb of Ashford, and Tangela Ryan of Dothan; one son, Lacy Kilpatrick of Ozark; two step-sons, Rick and Rhonda Cordle of Dothan, and Aaron and Mary Elizabeth Cordle of Mobile; father Clyde Stallings of Blountstown, Fla.; sister, Judy and husband, Larry Gilmore, of Locust Fork; brother Fred and wife, Lannette Stallings, of Birmingham; four grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

Mr. Edgar Moseley, 90 of Skipperville passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Friendship Baptist Church of Clopton with the Rev. Allen Young officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bertha. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday.
He leaves a loving wife to whom he was married for 69 years, Minnie L. Moseley; one daughter and son-in-law; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Leaves, Vero Beach, Fla., and Rubye Farmer of Eufaula; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-laws; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Herbert Franklin Norrell, 68 of Ozark died Friday evening, Jan. 2, 2004, at Ozark Nursing facility.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday Jan. 5 at the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Trawick officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Norrell retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of E-6. He also retired from Gates Power Drive in Dothan, Ala.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Norrell of Ozark; one brother, Manuel E. Norrell of Dadeville.

Mr. Larry Strickland, 36 of Ozark died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Post Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Post Oak Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4108 N. Union Ave., Ozark, Ala. 36360.
Mr. Strickland was a native of Dale County and attended Skipperville Schools. He was a member of the Post Oak Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Duver Strickland; and a brother, Tommy Strickland.
Survivors include his parents, Luther and Bertha Lee Strickland, Ozark; three sisters, Debra Strickland, Ozark, Shelia Kissinger, Dothan, and Darlene Partridge, Mornlake, Miss.; one brother, Rick Strickland, Ozark.

Thomas Marcus Pippin, 50 and formally of Ozark, died Friday Jan. 2, 2004, at his residence in Panama City Beach, Fla., after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday Jan. 5, at the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry Circle officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Pippin was born May 18 1953, in Ozark, Ala., the son of Thomas Darren Pippin and Shirley Ann Howell Pippin. He was employed with Civil Service as a project manager of D.P.W. Mr. Pippin was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and moved to Panama City Beach, Fla., in 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Pippin of Panama City Fla.; two stepsons Travis and Yank Warrick, both of Panama City Beach, Fla.; father and mother, Thomas D. and Shirley Pippin of Ozark one sister, Sandra and husband, Douglas Kennard of Dothan; one brother James L. Pippin and wife, Margaret, of Montgomery.

Mr. Ronald L. "Ronny" Carr of Ozark died at his home Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Isom Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory, Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark.
Mr. Carr was a native and life-long resident of Ozark and a graduate of Carroll High School. He served in the United States Navy for two years of active duty. He was employed with Hendricks Home Center prior to becoming disabled.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Julian Carr and Gladys Pearl Tomlin Carr; and one son, Ronald Franklin Carr.
Survivors include three daughters, Kimberly Carr Smith and her husband, Kevin, Phenix City, Emily Stinson, Centre, and Rhonda Whitehead, Springville; one sister, Judy Sitz, Ozark; two brothers, Larry Frank Carr and Samuel Alton Carr, Ozark; and six grandchildren.

Mr. Walter Clayton Johnson, 62 of the Echo Community, Ozark, died Friday morning, Jan. 2, 2004.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at Echo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marquis Wingard, the Rev. Phil Craddock and Bill Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Echo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time Sunday.
Mr. Johnson was a native and life-long resident of the Echo Community where he was engaged in farming and poultry production. He was a member of Echo United Methodist Church, was on the church administrative board, and church music director. Mr. Johnson was an avid deer and fox hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Hobson "Hob" Johnson and Mavis Cotton Johnson; two brothers, Dennis Johnson and Jerry Cotton "Jug" Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Warrick Johnson, Echo; two daughters and sons-in-law Denise and Wade Strickland, Ozark, Mitzi and Jimbo Payne, Echo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie and Chere Johnson, Echo, Mike and Jessica McDaniel, Echo; his step-mother, Iva Jackson Johnson, Echo; one sister and brother-in-law, Nicky and Jeff Thompson, Echo; one brother, Ricky and Jana Johnson, Echo; nine grandchildren, Sommer and Tanner Strickland, Gray and Trace Johnson, Shelby Cassie, Stetson, and Kenzi Payne, Madison McDaniel.

Mrs. Glennie Ruth Sitz, 75 of Ozark, died Thursday Jan. 1, 2004, at Dale Medical Center after a long illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Brother Isom Hill and Brother Bill Hart officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. Friday to one hour before service time when her body will be placed in the church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 1970 E. Andrews Ave., Ozark, Ala. 36360 or The Gideons International, P.O. Box 291, Ozark, Ala. 36360.
Mrs. Sitz was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, a native and life long resident of Dale County, Ala..
Mrs. Sitz is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Douglas Adkins of Ozark, Christine and Aaron Roberts of Ozark, Judy and Edward Sauls of Ozark, Debbie and Tim Lowe of Ozark; three sons, Bobby and Judy Sitz of Ozark, James and Ashley Sitz of Perry, Ga., Albert Sitz of Ozark; one sister, Shirley Boose of Ozark; two brothers, Billy Goodson of Ariton, and Gerald Goodson of the Rocky Head Community; 17 grandchildren.

Lennie Stokes Clark, 99 of Ozark, died Thursday morning, Jan. 1, 2004, in Troy.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Westview Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Harry Circle officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends following the services at the cemetery.
Mrs. Clark was a native of Dale County, where she was a member of Ozark Baptist Church and the Dorcus Sunday School Class. She graduated from Troy Normal School, now Troy State University with a degree in Education. Retiring from General 'Telephone Compariy following 18 years of service she has lived in Troy since 1995 with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lunnie Holman Clark in 1946; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Stokes; two sisters, Lillie Heath and Lois Flowers; and two brothers, Roy Stokes and Roscoe Stokes.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Chase Riddle of Troy; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Eva and Berman Jackson of Ozark, Foy and J. B. Willis of Panama City, Fla., and Jewel Crumpler of Wewahitchka, Fla.; two granddaughters Debbie Dawkins of Dothan and Sharon Johnson of Troy; four great grandchildren, Chase Dawkins and his wife, Amber, Mandy Dawkins, Wes Johnson, and Samantha Johnson..
