Mr. Waymon Lee Danzey, 60 of Dothan, died early Wednesday morning, July 21, 2004, at Oakview Manor in Ozark.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willie White officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery (Seale, Ala.). The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7 p.m. today. At other times the family will be at Liberty Court in Dothan.
Mr. Waymon Lee Danzey was born to the late Lloyd Danzey and Alice Peoples on June 5, 1944, in Houston County.
Survivors include his children, Fredrick (Patricia) Danzey, Savannah, Ga., Courtney Danzey, Dothan, Kelly Danzey, Tara McClendon, Erick Lee, Brent and Brandon Gardner, and Destin Gaskin, all of Dothan; uncle, Freddie Trawick; brother, Marvin (Winfer) Danzey, Dothan; sister, Ola (Robert) Moore, Cleveland; four grandchildren, Tyler, Braxton and Ta'kiyah Danzey, Fusica McClendon, all of Dothan; and a host of friends and relatives.
Mrs. Dana Weeks Spears, 37 of Opp, Ala., died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, 2004, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson, Ala., with the Rev. Earl Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Kinston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight in the funeral home.
Mrs. Spears was born May 29 1966, in Opp, Ala., to Mrs. Sue Ward Weeks, and to the late Tony Weeks.

Voncile Kirkland, 68 and a resident of Oakview Manor Health Care Center, Ozark, a native of Midland City, died Thursday morning, July 15, 2004, in the Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Concord Baptist Cemetery, between Headland and Newville. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the mortuary in Headland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2629 Andrews Avenue, Ozark, AL 36360.
Miss Kirkland was born and reared in Midland City, daughter of the late Early B. Kirkland and Annie Lou Tice Kirkland. She had been a resident of Oakview Manor in Ozark since 1978. Miss Kirkland was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Ozark.
Surviving relatives include two sisters, Catherine Richards, Gainesville, Fla.; Hilda Ward and her husband, Virgil Ward, Dothan; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Kenneth Baker of Ozark died Thursday, July 15, 2004 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Ozark First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Greg Doss officiating. Kenneth was born in Ariton, Alabama in 1932. During his 23 years of military service he traveled and moved to many places. He served one tour of Vietnam, two tours of Korea, one tour of Japan, and two tours of Germany, but returned to Ozark in 1973. He worked with Civil Service until 1992. He loved playing his guitar. He was a member of Ozark First Assembly of God Church. His family and friends are thankful for the wonderful memories of Kenneth.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ida and Len Baker; brothers, Ralph and Edward Baker; and sisters, Sybil Balance and Dollie Napper.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Retha Pippin Baker, of Ozark; one daughter, Monica Baker Foote, of Ozark; two sons Tim (Michelle) Baker and Scott Baker, all of Ozark; four sisters, Anne Ruth Glenn and Verlon Teal, both of Haines City, Fla., Clara Tillman and Flarrie Williams, both of Ozark; one brother, Hubert Baker, of Haines City, Fla.; grandchildren, Kristen, Katrina and Cheyenne (Charlotte) Foote, Hannah Baker (Eddie) Ledbetter, and Karmon Sellers; and two great-
grandchildren Layton Foote and Jayden Ledbetter.
Semmie Johnson Jr., 68 of Ozark, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 13, 2004.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 17, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church on East Andrews Avenue in Ozark. with pastor Dr. S.C.
Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Travelers Rest Cemetery in Ozark.
Mrs. Sherry Morris Teeter, 51 of Ozark, Ala., passed away Friday, July 9, 2004 at Flowers Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2004, at the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with the Rev. Joe Reama and Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5 and 7 tonight, July 11, at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or the Red Cross, Coffee County Chapter.
Mrs. Teeter was born May 1, 1953, in Salisbury, N.C. She was a graduate of Western Carolina University where she received both her bachelor's and master's degrees. She served as United Way Area Manager for Dale and Henry Counties and director of the Coffee County Red Cross. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church where she served on the Administrative Board, teacher of the Covenant Sunday school class, and was involved with numerous committees and clubs. She was also an active member of the P.E.O.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Wayne Teeter of Ozark, Ala. two sons, Bradley Teeter of Athol, Mass. and Matt Teeter and his fiancé', Druanne Resecker, both of Ozark, Ala.; mother and father, Roy and Jean Morris of,Salisbury N.C.; two sisters, Judy Workman and Diane Neely both of Salisbury, N.C.; one brother, Ricky Morris of Salisbury, N.C.; and a grandchild, Tosh Wiley Teeter of Ozark, Ala.
Reverend David Michael Pizzimenti, 50 of Ozark, Alabama and Henderson, Arkansas, died unexpectedly from an apparent heart attack on July 7, 2004.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service for Reverend David Michael Pizzimenti will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday at Twin Lakes Baptist Church with Dr. Jesse Duplantis, Reverend Tim O’Leary, and Dr. Scott Hannen officiating. Burial will be in Kirby’s Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Glory to Him Fellowship or David Pizzimenti Ministries.
He was born March 9, 1954, at Chicago Heights, Illinois, to Louis J. and Carolyn Morgan Pizzimenti. He married Kelly Burden on October 24, 1981 at Ozark, Alabama. Reverend Pizzimenti was a U.S. Army Veteran and Helicopter Instructor. He lived in Ozark, Alabama but also had a residence in Henderson, Arkansas. He was Pastor of Glory to Him Fellowship Churches at Ozark and Enterprise, Alabama, and was an avid supporter of the People and Nation of Israel making annual trips beginning in 1987. He visited and preached in Russia, Italy, Germany, Israel, and Jamaica.
He was a member of the Rhema Ministerial Association, founded the Full Gospel Ministerial Association, and was on the Board of Directors of Jesse Duplantis Ministries. He pastored his first Church in Berlin while serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed flying and was rated multi-engine, commercial, instrument, and instructor; he also enjoyed scuba diving and bear hunting.
He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Kelly, son, Joshua Michael Pizzimenti of Mountain Home, daughter, Jessica Marie (Eric) Rodriguez of Enterprise, Alabama, 5 grandchildren, David, Isaac, Olivia, Jordan, and Dominic, mother and step-father, Carolyn and Otto Conzelmann of Flippin, 2 brothers, Randy and Jim Pizzimenti of Mountain Home, and 3 nieces.
Otto Conzelmann will be serving as honorary pallbearer. Active Bearers are: Randy Pizzimenti, Jim Pizzimenti, Reggie Knowles, Jr., Andy Anderson, Steve Nowlin, Sammy Popwell, Larry Saltee, Jr., and Brandon Danley.
Ms. Pauline Genevieve Skipper, 72 of Ozark, Ala., passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at her home in Ozark.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday the 10th at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 6 until 8 p.m.; family will receive friends during these hours.
Ms. Skipper was born in Ozark area January 22, 1932. Her husband, the late Morris W. Skipper and Pauline lived their entire lives in the Ozark area. She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Skipper and two sons, Bobby and Bruce Skipper.
Other family members include 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. In the late 80s, Pauline decided to share her life with a loving companion, Mr. Bill Walker. Pauline and Bill both used the remaining years of her life to experience and enjoy their retirement by traveling around the country in their RV. Pauline came to claim Bill's children to be her own and embraced them as was her nature.
She will be missed by all those whose life she touched with her warm smile.
Mr. Ewell M. Jay, 67 of Ozark, Ala. passed away Tuesday July 6, 2004 at his home following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today July 8, 2004 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The body will be placed at the church one hour prior to service time. Mr. Jay was employed with Gulf Life, Liberty National Life and Metropolitan Life in the 1960s and 1970s. He worked at Farley Nuclear Plant when it was being constructed. In 1977 he moved to Oakridge, Tenn. and was Assistant Manager of Bonanza Family Restaurant. In June, 1980 he moved to Murfreesboro, Tenn. where he was Gerieral Manager of Bonanza Family Restaurant. In January 1985, he moved to Smyrna, Tenn. where he was General Manager of Bonanza-Ponderosa Steakhouse. He moved to Ozark, Ala. in 1988 where he worked at the Dothan Eagle as District Manager of Circulation Department. He had been employed at CVS for the past four years.
Mr. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Anne E. and John Jay, of Brevard, N.C.
Survivors include wife, Mary Ann Jay of Ozark, Ala.; three sons, Ewell Scott Jay of Tallahassee Fla., Anthony Heath Jay of San Diego, Stephen Lee Jay of Hoover, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Laura Anne Jay Andrew Jay and Alexandria Jay
Hugh Don Tew, 64 of Echo, died early Monday night, July 5, 2004, in Dale Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 2004, in the Echo United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Craddock and the Rev. Marquis Wingard officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday in the church sanctuary. At other times, the family will be at the home of Patrick and Amanda Watson, Highway 27, Echo, Ala. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Echo United Methodist Church, c/o Iva Johnson, 7942 East County Road 36, Ozark, AL, 36360.
Mr. Tew was born in the Edwin community of Henry County, the son of the late Cody C. Tew and Webbelene Campbell Tew. He had lived in Echo all of his adult life. Mr. Tew was considered the unofficial mayor of Echo. He was an avid fox hunter and in earlier years was an avid coon hunter and a very good friend to many. Mr. Tew was the past President of the Alabama Open Fox Hunters Association. He was an early member of the Echo Fire Department, a member of the Echo United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He coached youth baseball for Dixie Youth and Dixie Minors in Ozark for several years.
Mr. Tew was preceded in death by a brother, Crawford Tew and a nephew, Christopher Brock Tew.
Surviving relatives include a son, Timothy Don Tew, Echo; three sisters, Genora Mauldin, Headland, Annette Smith and her husband, Harvey Smith, Cottonwood, Judy Lurie and her husband, Jerry Lurie, Dothan; five brothers, Freddy Tew and his wife, Virginia Tew, Headland, Winston Tew and his wife, Erline Tew, Eufaula, Ronnie Tew and his wife Cindy Tew, Edwin, Greg (Coochie) Tew, Echo, Randy Tew, and his wife, Linda Tew, Enterprise; 78 nieces and nephews; his extended family, Dan and Linda Grantham; Patrick, Amanda and Marli Watson.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Lamar Newman, Joe Grantham, Richard Crook, Jimmy Crook, Rob Dasinger and Ricky Johnson.

Sylvia Henderson Whitehead, 54 of Clarksville, Tenn., formerly of Dale County, Ala., died Sunday afternoon, July 4, 2004, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Clarksville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2004, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Hugh D. Kirkland, Jr., Rev. T.P. Martin and Mr. Keith Ammons officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Cemetery near Echo. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland. At other times, the family will be at the home of a sister, Ruth Palmer, at 3967 County Road 83 in Newville, Ala.
Ms. Whitehead was born in Blue Springs but was reared in the Echo Community. She lived in Midland City several years before moving to Clarksville in 1981. Ms. Whitehead was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving relatives include a son, James Edward (Eddie) Whitehead and his wife, LaDonna Whitehead, Clarksville, Tenn.; her parents, Willie and Ethel Blankenship Henderson of Newville; six sisters, Ruth Palmer, Newville, Imogene Selph of Clarksville, Tenn., Betty Ammons of Dothan, Judy Maas of Clarksville, Tenn., Belita Hancock of Skipperville, Ala., Bobbie Willoughby of Ariton, Ala.; a brother, Willie Edward Henderson of Level Plains, Ala.; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephew's.
Jimmy LaDon (Don) Whitehead, age 32 and a resident of Clarksville, Tenn., and formerly of Dale County, died Sunday afternoon, July 4, 2004, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Clarksville.

Mr. Henry L. McCraney, 65 of County Road 550, Ozark, Ala., passed away Friday, July 2, 2004, at Flowers Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2004, at Christian Faith Fellowship Temple, 4081 Andrews Ave., Ozark, Ala. with Bishop William H. Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 to 3 p.m., wake from 6 to 7 p.m., both at Unity Funeral Home.
Mr. Henry Lewis McCraney was born May 14 1939, in Louisville, Ala., to Mr. Moses and Mrs. Mabel McCraney. He married Lorine Barnes on July 1, 1967. There were married for 37 years. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel McCraney; two sisters, Emma Jean Nurse and Pearl Burk; and two brothers, Samuel and Benjamin McCraney.
He is survived by his wife, Lorine McCraney; three daughters, Henrietta Thomas (Keith), Ozark Ala., Cathy Anderson (Michael), Dothan, Loretha Ward (Tracy), Dothan; one son, Coley Lewis McCraney (Jeanette), Dothan; father and step-mother, Moses and Mary Lee McCraney; one aunt, Annie Pearl Herring; four sisters, Mosezella Chappell (Nathaniel), Briarfield, Ala., Alfreda George (Cornelius), Birmingham; Ala., Delphine Bolling (Anthony), Birmingham, Ala., Barbara Ann Curry, Louisville, Ala.; two brothers, Moses McCraney Jr., Palika, Fla. and Cleveland McCraney (Bernice) Louisville, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Mike Schovel, 55, of Ozark, died Thursday; July 1, 2004, in Newport News, Va.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday July 8 at the Fort Rucker Main Post Chapel with Chaplain (Captain) Patrick Rohen and the Rev. Charles McCabe presiding and Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Full military honors presentation will follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 7 at the funeral home. .Rosary will be at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Alabama-Florida Council, 6801 W. Mr. Schovel was born Aug. 7, 1948, in Monticello, N.Y. He graduated from high school in Saugerties, N.Y., and from Syracuse University College of Forestry in Syracuse, N.Y. He graduated summa cum laude from Troy State University with a master's degree in education.
Mr. Schovel served in the U.S. Army for 25 years, retiring in 1995 as a CW4 instructor pilot. Following his military service, Mr. Schovel became involved in the field of education, teaching in the Daleville School System. He was very active in the Catholic Parish of the Fort Rucker Main Post Chapel and served as a lector (reader of scripture) and as an usher.
He and his wife taught Sunday School and precana courses in their parish. He was an active volunteer in the Alabama-Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America and was instrumental in guiding his son to the rank of eagle scout. As a member of the Dothan Wiregrass Art League, he was an accomplished artist in oils and pen and ink. His writing was published in Troy State University Dothan's Copperblade Review.
Mr. Schovel was a well-loved member of their writing club. He was a life-tirne member of the National Rifle Association. His father, Michael Schovel, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Kane Schovel of Ozark; one daughter, Erin Schovel of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Denise Schovel of Odenton, Md.; his mother, Gloria Schovel of Saugerties, N.Y.; two sisters, Madelaine Endicott of Flanders N.J.; Mary Jo Harris of Washington. N.J.; and two brothers, Mark Schovel of Auburn, Ga.; Matthew Schovel of Colorado Springs, Colo.
