Mrs. Olvie Lou Sellers, 85 of Ozark, Ala., died at the Ozark Rehabilitation Facility on July 8, 2005, following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held at Woodlawn Memory Gardens in Ozark on Sunday, .July 10, 2005, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. W I,. Sheffield officiating. In the event of bad weather, the servires will be held at the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home. If planning to attend, please call the Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home by noon Sunday to confirm where the services will be held. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home today, July 9, 200 5, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Mrs. Sellers was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pinckard, Ala., and a lifelong resident of Dale County She retired from Van Heusen after 30 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will he missed by her family and friends who will forever cherish her memory,
Mrs. Sellers was preceded in death by her parents, Cap and Lessie Kemp; her husbands, Willow Parrish and Frank Sellers; three sisters, Foy Jean Harrison, Evelyn Skipper and Bea Helms; and two brothers, Jack Kemp and Ralph Kemp.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Elgin and Glinda Parrish of Ozark, John L. and Linda S. Parrish of Ozark, and Eugene and Shirley Parrish of Elba, Ala.; six grandchildren, DeAnna Pertuit and her husband, Lief, of Mobile, Angela Parrish of Mobile, Jason N. Parrish and his wife, Keri, of Mobile, J. Kevin Parrish of Ozark, Kimala Martin of Dothan, and Alisa Robinson and her husband, Randy, of Green wood, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, Austin Parrish, Logan Pertuite, Joshua Parrish, David Parrish, Tyler Prim, Riley Robinson and Helena Elinerson; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Pat Kemp of Dothan; one sister-in-law, Pat Kemp of Dothan; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and relatives.
Mrs. Lois Gissendanner, 82 of of Ozark, passed away Thursday morning, July, 7, 2005, at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 9, 2005, at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Zion Church with the Revs. Willie Mack Williams and Joseph Ellington III officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour before services. Burial will be in the Johnstown Community Cemetery.
Mrs. Gissendanner was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County and a member of Pleasant Grove A.M.E.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Ida Lou Williams; and sisters and brothers, Bertha Myrick, Sadie Griffin, Cather Lou Gissendanner, Eddie Williams, Lex Williams, Everidge Williams, Selly Williams and Willie Fred Williams.
Survivors include husband, R.G. Gissendanner; four daughters and two sons, Nellie and Elbert Mobley of Columbia, S.C., Roberta Smedley of Ozark, Jerry and Lorine Gissendanner of Ozark, Linda and Ezell Rouloc ol' Panama City, Fla., Lueratha and Michel Bailey of Columbia, S.C., and .Ioseph and Carolyn Gissendanner of Atlanta; one brother, C.B. Williams of Ozark; three sisters-in-law, Vivian Reynolds of Detroit, Corene Gissendanner of Akron, Ohio, and Lillian Williams of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; 39 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Allie Robinette Danner, 91 of Ariton, passed away at her residence on the morning of July 6, 2005.
Funeral services will be today July 8, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Elam Baptist Danner Church, Elamville, where she had been a longtime member. The Revs. Kenneth Earles and Joe Underwood will officiate. Burial will follow in the Elam Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Alacare Hospice of Troy
Ms. Danner was born Feb. 17, 1914, to Ed and Ida Ketcham Robinette in Barbour County. Ms. Danner was a homemaker, but most of all she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Ms. Danner was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Homer Danner; a son, Glen Danner; a daughter, Robbie Hines; a grandson, Russell Ray; a granddaughter, Angela Hines; a son-in-law, Joe Dawkins; and also five brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by three daughters and two son-in-laws, Sybil Dawkins of Elamville, Marie (Earlie) Yeomans of Hartford, and Gayle (Steve) James of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, Riley (Alisa) Danner of Blue Springs, and Perry (Jennifer) Danner of Troy; one sister and brother-in-law, Katherine (Robert) Shaw of Montgomery; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Carl Sutton, Edwin Sutton, Elton Sutton, Fulton Robinette, Lomax Robinette, Jeter Brock and Tony Danner.

Annie Florence Andrews Everett, 99 of Ozark died Sunday night, June 26, 2005, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2005, in the chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with the Rev. Jim Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 6-8 p.m., tonight, June 28, 2005.
Mrs. Everett was born in Dale County Oct. 18, 1905, to the late Etta Sullivant Andrews and Ben Andrews. She was a member of Ridge- crest Baptist Church and traveled with the Golden Age Singers. Mrs. Everett enjoyed gardening, needlework, and loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Sollie Everett, her daughter, Annie Martha Tharpe, five sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include her son Edward J. Everett and his wife, Dixie, Ozark, five grand- children, Kitty Cathcart and her husband, Gary, Edward J. Everett Jr. and his wife, Diana, Richard J. Everett and his wife Evelyn, Steven J. Everett and his wife, Paige, and Kay Ausbon and her husband, Bo, and a special friend, Ermma Pittman, Ozark; 12 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Her grandsons will serve as casket bearers.
Mr. Gerald Grantham, 80 of Ozark, Ala., passed away Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005, from Hillcrest Baptist Church in Ozark with the Revs. Harry Circle and Isom Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Hillcrest Baptist Church Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Grantham was born in Houston County on Aug. 5, 1924, to the late Preston and Jimmie (Barefield) Grantham. He was a longtime member and deacon of Hillcrest Baptist church in Ozark. He served 20 years in the United States Navy and later retired from Sikorsky.
His surviving family include his loving wife of 56 years, Marie Grantham; daughter and son in law, Jeri Allison Bailey and her husband, Rick; grandsons, Christopher Williams and his wife, Lisa and Michael Warren Bailey; great-grandson, Gavin Alexander Williams; three sisters, Mary Ledbetter, Dorothy Monk and Georgia Sanko; brother, Kenneth Grantham; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins
Benford "Ben" Allen (CW2 retired), 70 of Ozark, Ala., passed away Thursday June 23, 2005, at
Dale Medical Center in Ozark, Ala.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday June 27, 2005, from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in Ozark. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Allen was born July 27, 1934, in Courtland, Ala. to the late George Oscar Allen and Ebber Beatrice Letson. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was the recipient of many medals and accommodations including the Purple Heart, four good conduct medals, SS M-14 Rifle Expert Carbine, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, (lst OLC), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Air Crew Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal / 60 dev and Army Commendation Medal.
He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Jean Allen; daughters, Patty Allen Hobbs of Ozark, Ala. and Penny Allen Glass of Leeds, Ala.; son, David Michael Allen of Texas; brother and sister-in-law, William Oscar and Betty Allen of Dora, Ala.; and seven grandchildren.
Louise Lee Cherry, 83 and a long-time resident of Newton, Ala., died Wednesday morning, June 22, 2005, in the Wesley Manor Retirement Center in Dothan.
Funeral services will be held at Il a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2005, in the Newton United Methodist Church with the Rev David Willis and Dr Jerry M. Dooling officiating. Burial will follow in the Newton City Cemetery The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until time for the service. Mrs. Cherry was born Aug. 17, 1921, in Daleville, Ala., daughter of the late Jack A. Lee and Cumie Skipper Lee. She was a dedicated educator who served the children of Dale County Schools for 43 years. She was a classroom teacher, the principal at Pinckard and Midland City Elementary Schools and the elementary curriculum coordinator for the Dale County School System. Mrs. Cherry retired in 198Z She was also a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa teachers' honorary for many years.
Mrs. Cherry held a bachelor of science degree, a master of science degree and an educational specialist degree, all from what is now known as Troy University.
An active member of the Newton United Methodist Church for many years, Mrs. Cherry served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, president of the United Methodist Women, church lay leader and as a member of the Administrative Board.
Mrs. Cherry was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, O'Dell Lee and Wilma Lee Enfinger; and her husband of 61 years, Durward P. Cherry
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Shirley Jo and Rhett Williams, Dothan; a grandson, Lee Williams, Birmingham, Ala.; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Christie and Jacob Glawson, Helena, Ala.; a great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Glawson, Helena, Ala.; a brother and sister-in-law, Oscar and Jean Lee, Dothan; a brother-in-law and sister-in- law Charlie and Nell Cherry Baker, Ozark, Ala.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Lee Williams, Jacob Glawson, Danny Dell, Robert Horne, Ronnie McSween and Billy Outlaw.
Mrs. Eleanor Blackmon, 57 of Enterprise, Ala., and formerly of Ozark, Ala., died Friday, June 17, 2005, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan.
Funeral services will be today, June 25, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the Church of God by Faith on King Street in Ozark. Burial will be in the Old Ozark City Cemetery with elders Britt and Smith officiating.

Bryce Eugene Brophy, beloved brother, dad, granddad, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 14, 2005, in Ozark, Ala. He was 77.

Mary Sue Brown Turner, 66 of Ozark, Ala., died Saturday, June 11, 2005 at her home following an extended illness.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday June 17, 2005, at Saint Michael's Episcopal Church in Ozark, Ala., with Father Craig Gavin officiating. Mrs. Turner was born June 10, 1939, in Gary, W.Va. to Gaston Zell and Ella Mae Jennings Brown. She met and later married the late Johnny W. Turner of Coalwood, W.Va.
In 1965, she moved to Ariton where she resided for three years before moving to Ozark where she remained until the time of her death. Mrs. Turner was employed with Ozark Building Supply for more than 30 years.
Survivors include three children, Linda Griffin (David), Gulf Breeze, Fla., Sharon Turner, Ozark, Ala., and Johnny W. Turner II (Kelly), Dothan; five grand- children, Dustin, Kristy, Jenna, Cody and Will; a brother Gaston Brown (Jackie), Eaton, Ohio; and brother-in-law, Jack Turner (Evelyn), Anniston, Ala.
Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Downs, 84 of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and formerly of Ozark, Ala., passed away June, 9, 2005, at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2005, at the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Marty Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Downs was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Clifton Downs and her parents, James Israel and Elizabeth Lockhart.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Judy Downs and Gene and Jeanie Downs, all of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Amy Downs of Huntsville, Ala.; two sisters, Jose Mae Cooper and Glenalee Anderson, both of Virginia; four grandchildren, Ginger Downs, Don Downs, Kimberly McCabe and Doug Downs; and four great-grandchildren, Amanda Lynn McCabe, Andrew Jesse Downs, Paul Allen McCabe, Jr. and Jon Jon Downs.
Charlie R. Mitchell, 93 of Ozark, died Wednesday morning, June, 8, 2005 in the Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Revs. Joe Reams, Marty Hamilton and Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. Visitation was held Thursday night in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be given to the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center Fund or to the Methodist Children's Home.
Mr. Mitchell was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Birmingham, Ala., the son of the late Columbus White Mitchell and Ivy Lewis Mitchell. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Mary Tarver Sunday School Class and an honorary member of the Administrative Board. He retired from the United States Soil Conservation after 27 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Marilyn Kay Mitchell; one brother; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Mitchell of Ozark; daughter, Mary Anne Mitchell Walker of Savannah, Ga.; son, Gene Mitchell of Ozark, Ala.; and sister, Julia Adelle Praytor of Mobile, Ala.
Mrs. Betty Miles, 71 of Ozark, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at her home in Ozark surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 13, from Greater Sardis Missionary Baptist Church with Elder David E. Reddick and the Rev. S.C. Hudson officiating. Mrs. Miles will be placed in the church one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Sunday afternoon from 3 until 6 p.m.
She leaves to cherish the memories of her love, dedication, wisdom and spiritual guidance, the one she vowed, "til death do we part," her husband, Robert Miles. Four daughters who were blessed to have her as their mother, Mary Williams of Columbus, Ga., Betty Rodgers, Clementine Jenkins (Henry), and Linda Cannon of Ozark; stepdaughters, Irene Peterson of Ozark, Shirley Miles of Phenix City; stepson, Eddie Miles of Marrietta, Ga.; sons-in-laws, Ellis Rodgers and James Cannon of Ozark; sisters, Rebecca Evans, Mary (Willie) Colvin, Cascilla Feagin, and Deborah (Roger) Hensley of Seale; brothers: William (Mary) Morris of Seale, Johnny (Nellie) Morris Jr. of Geneva, Robert (Gloria) Morris and Eddie (Carrie) Morris of Seale; grandchildren, Michael Rodgers, Keith Davis, Ben Ansley, Kevin Jenkins, James (Jit) Cannon, Marvin Burnette, Christopher Peterson, Deonte' Peterson, Henry Jenkins, III., Anthony Jenkins, Eddie Miles, Andrea' Miles, Eric Miles, Tequita Thomas, Keisha Miles, Khadijah Miles, Cetoria Stampley, Barbara Williams and Nicole Miles and 22 great-grandchildren; a dear and special friend, Georgia George; those who adopted her as their mother, Susie Daniels, Charlette Pennington and Gwendolyn Ross.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mandy Covington, and two grandsons, Patrick Rodgers and Kourtney Jenkins.
