Roy Haynes
On June 6, 2005, the Lord called Roy Edward Haynes, age 52, home to rest at the Bay Center Nursing Home in Panama City, Fla.
Celebration of Life services for Mr. Haynes will be 3 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2005, at Greater Springfield Baptist Church New Brockton. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time.
Roy was born March 20, 1953, in New Brockton, to Ammie and Dorothy Haynes. He became a member of Greater Springfield Baptist Church in New Brockton at an earlier age. He was a supervisor with Van Heusen Textile factory in Ozark for 10 years before becoming disabled eight years ago. Roy was married to Eva Bivins June 21, 1981, and they were blessed with two children, LaRoyce and Quadre. He was blessed to help in raising three stepchildren, DeKishia, Sharon, and Roy Anthony.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel and Emma Haynes and great-grandmother, Maybelle Haynes.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Eva; two sons, LaRoyce and Quadre; stepchildren, DeKishia, Sharon, and Roy Anthony; mother and father, Ammie and Dorothy Haynes, New Brockton; granddaddy, James Harris (PaPa), New Brockton; four brothers, James (Mary), Pontiac, Mich., Jerry New Brockton, Danny (Robbie) and Michael (Lula), both of Enterprise; four sisters, Faye (Mike), Sharon (Willie), Amy, Lisa (Tyrone), all of Enterprise; six brothers-in-laws, William Swing, Billie Cole, Calvin Cole, Greg Cole, all of Atlanta, Ga., J.R. Bivins, Okinawa, Japan, and Rod Bivins, Brent; three sisters-in-law, Thurma Dubose and Virginia Bivins, Newark, N.J., and Christine Yates, Ozark; father-in-law and mother-in- law, Shelly and Doris Bivins, Ozark; 11 grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mrs. Ruth McNair and Mr. Lionel Williams.
Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, (334) 702-1712, is in charge of all the arrangements.

Jesse James Laster, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday June 4, 2005, at the Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday June 9, 2005, in the Believers in Christ Tabernacle in Ozark with the Pastor Bishop Kenneth Beckwith officiating. Burial will be at The Westside Cemetery.
Trawick Funeral Horne, (334) 774-8374, is in charge of all the arrangements.

Mrs. Martha L. Mitchell, 77 of Ozark, died Thursday night, June 2, 2005, in Dale Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today from Lee Cemetery with the Rev. W.L. Sheffield officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. today from the Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Mitchell was born March 3, 1928, in North Carolina, the daughter of the late Will Kerly and Nora Gibson Kerly. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of Southside Baptist Church, where she had served as the church librarian. A devoted member of the Heart of Dixie Coon Hunters Association, where she was the country chef. She was employed with the Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center for six years.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilda Watts and Ruby Davis.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ewell Mitchell Jr. of Ozark, Ala.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Francis Lura Rose and husband, Stanley W. Post of Winter Park, Fla., and Sarah Ann Fisk and husband, Lawrence of Ozark, Ala.; three sons, William G. "Billy" Mitchell and his wife, Barbara of Ozark, Ala., John T. (Tommy) Mitchell of Ozark, Ala., Britt D. Mitchell of Ozark, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Retired, Sergeant First Class, Ronald E. Seaman, 57 of Ozark, Ala., was called to his Heavenly home on Thursday, June 2, 2005, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 5 2005, in . the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Stone officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens with full military honors. The visitation will be today, June 4, 2005, at the funeral home chapel from 2 to 4 p.m.

Mr. Seaman was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph M. and Mary-Margaret Seaman of Green field, Ohio, and a very special aunt, Louella M. Stultz of Cincinnati.
Surviving family include his loving wife he truly cherished, Faye Seaman of Ozark, Ala.; a beloved daughter, Connie (Randy) Page of Ohio; three adoring step-children, Robert Cullifer of Troy, Ala., Brandy Spivey and Richard Spivey, both of Ozark, Ala., brother, John Seaman of Ozark, Ala.; seven precious grandchildren, Meghan and Ryan Page of Ohio, Scott Seaman, Joshua Cullifer, Olivia Smither and Shelby Spivey, all of Ozark, Ala., and Cody CulliEer of Troy, Ala.

Verna Wetherington Enfinger, 98 of the Bertha Community died late Wednesday afternoon, June l, 2005, at her home.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. today, June 3, 2005, in the New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Dan Sheppard and W.M. Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 2:30 p.m. Friday in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Baptist Cemetery Fund, c/o Billy R. Grantham, 826 County Road 7, Skipperville, AL 36374.
Mrs. Enfinger was born and reared in the Bertha Community of Dale County daughter of the late Mary Emma Spears Wetherington and George Jefferson Wetherington. She was a graduate of Dale County High School in Ozark and also received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Troy University. Mrs. Enfinger retired as an elementary school teacher at the Echo School. She was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church where she formerly taught Sunday school and was a member of the W.M.U. Mrs. Enfinger was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Dale County Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Foy Enfinger; a granddaughter, Susan Enfinger; and three sisters, Ada Barefield, Lonie Barefield and Florrie Mae Wetherington.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, June Blankenship and her husband, James Blankenship, Bertha Community; three sons, Ben Enfinger and his wife, Evelyn Enfinger, Roswell, Ga., Larry Enfinger and his wife, Jean Enfinger, Georgetown, Ga., Gene Enfinger and his wife, Kathryn Enfinger, Grand Bay; 10 grandchildren, Jeff Enfinger, Ben Enfinger Mary Lou Marchman, Joe Enfinger, Robert Enfinger James Enfinger, Michael Enfinger, Timothy Enfinger, Paul Blankenship and Steven Blankenship; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a niece, Jewell Covington; and special friends and neighbors, Jewell Barefield, John and Peggy Doren.
Serving as active pallbearers will be the grandsons and a grandson-in-law, Roger Marchman.

Mrs. Mary Ellen Davis Grice, 90 of Ozark, Ala., and formerly of Ariton, died Monday, May 30, 2005, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation where she had lived since July 2000.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2005, from Ariton United Methodist Church with the Revs. Franklin Bird and Hugh Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Ariton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 5 until 7 tonight, June 1, 2005.
Mrs. Grice was born Sept. 14, 1914, in the Texasville Community of Barbour County to the late Dora Smith Davis and William Taylor Davis. She had lived in Ariton during her adult life where she was a homemaker and a faithful member of Ariton United Methodist Church. She worked for a short period of time at Fort Rucker in the enlisted men's cafeteria. Mrs. Grice was loved by her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lloyd Grice; a sister, Ruby Davis Watson; and two brothers, Willie Davis and Floyd Davis.
Survivors include two sons, Max Grice and his wife, Martha, Mobile, Ala., and Wayne Grice and his wife, Janell, Hartwell, Ga.; her twin brother, Lloyd Davis, and his wife, Hilda, Columbus, Ga.; five grandchildren, Kim Mitchell, Russell Grice, Greg Grice, Lee Grice and Dee DiBona; eight great-grandchildren; four nieces; and three nephews.
Max and Wayne Grice would like to express their utmost gratitude to Ozark Health and Rehabilitation for creating a home away from home for their mother for almost five years. She participated in most activities at the facility. She was voted Ms. Ozark Nursing Facility in 2001, and was in the top ten of the Ms. Alabama State Nursing Facility.
Mrs. Grice requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Ariton Cemetery Fund, c/o Earl Thompson, 7147 Highway 51, Ariton, AL 3631.1 or to the charity of your choice.

Mr. Len Douglas Hagler, 67 of Ozark, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2005, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at I1 a.m. from the Hamilton Cross Roads Church of Christ with Ministers Hal Wynn and Chris Barnette officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home today from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Faulkner University Montgomery, or the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Hagler was born June 12, 1937, in Barbour County to the late Jim Hagler and Odell Long Hagler.
He was a member of Hamilton Cross Roads Church of Christ and was employed with the Dale County Road Department for more than 30 years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Curt Hagler. Surviving family include his loving wife of 23 years, Sue Hagler; two daughters, Diane Bell of Daleville and Debbie Ingram of Anderson, S.C.; three sons, Allen Hagler of Atlanta, Ga., Hal Wynn (Rhea) of Montgomery and Harold Andrews of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Barbara Rogers and Hilda Houston (Charlie) all of Ozark; a brother, Wayne Hagler (Shelia) of Ozark; an aunt, Marvelle Beasley of Mobile; two grandchildren, seven nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Houston, Jason Houston, Kenneth Smith, James Harold Wynn Jr., T.C. Carroll and Harold Andrews.

Melissa Elaine Allredge, 30 of Ozark, died Saturday May 28, 2005, in Dale Medical Center following a short illness.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday from Skipperville United Methodist Church Cemetery with Dr. Walter Reeder officiating. Visitation will be today from 7 until 9 p.m. from the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends at the home of her father Robert Alexander Minning Sr. 309 Cypress Lane, Ozark.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph and Margaret Minning. Melissa was bom Sept. 20, 1974, in Alaska, the daughter of Robert Alexander Minning Sr. and Roberta Escott Minning.
She is survived by her son and daughter, Johnathan Mikael Minning and Katrina Elaine Foote both of Ozark; her parents, Robert A. Minning Sr. and Annie Minning of Ozark and A1 and Bobbie Roman of Washington State; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie Monk (Mark) of Ozark; a brother, Robert A. Minning, Jr. of Washington state; a stepsister, Carrie Ann Anglin of Ozark two step-brothers, Randell Chynne of Singley, La., and Benjamin Lee Ginn of North Carolina; grandparents, Maria Hopson of Washington state and Junie Watts of Ozark; her fiance', Jimmy Nidiffer, several aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.

Ronald Seaman, 57 of Robin Parker Road, Ozark, died Thursday, June 2, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark, (334) 774-4551.

Angela Tess Jordan Spellman
Our little butterfly, Angela Tess Jordan Spellman, born in Mobile March 24, 1976, has passed away.
Memorial services for Angela will be Saturday June 4, 2005, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Mixon School Road in Ozark at 10 a.m. She will be interred in McCalla at a later date.
Angela went though school in Ozark, with a few years in Ansonia, Conn. She went to Wallace College for two years.
She is survived by her husband, John Spellman; two children, Pamela Isis Jordan, age 7, and Charles Alakia Orion Spellman, age 1; father, James Donald Jordan of Andalusia; mother, Pamela Jean Jordan of Tellico Plains, Tenn.; a brother, James Danial Jordan, Midland City; grandparents, Herschel and Eunice Baker of Ozark, and James and Ann Jordan of Andalusia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Gladys Strickland Henry, 86 of Ozark, died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at The Cedars in Montgomery following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2005, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with the Rev. Bill Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 3 until 5 p.m. this afternoon. Flowers will be accepted or memorials. may be made in her memory to Carroll High School Library, 455 Forrest Ave., Ozark, AL 36360, or to the Flowers Center for the Performing Arts, c/o Ozark City Board of Education, 928 E Andrews Ave., Ozark, AI., 36360. '
Mrs. Henry was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Franklin County, having lived in Ozark since 1951. She taught at Dale County High School, and when Carroll High School opened she became the librarian where she remained for more than 40 years until her retirement. Mrs. Henry was a member of Ozark Baptist Church since 1951. She was a charter member of the Ozark Pilot Club, receiving an attendance award for not missing a meeting in more than 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Henry, her daughter, Martha Henry Stewart, and one son, Charles (Chuck) Henry.
Survivors include one son, James Wade Henry and his wife, Deborah, Montgomery,; one daughter-in-law, Jean Henry, Lynchburg, Va.' one son-in-law, Donald J. Stewart, Tallahassee, Fla.; four grand- children, Adam Henry Lynch- burg, Va., Jason Stewart Chapel Hill, N.C., Jonmark Henry and Wade Henry, Montgomery, one great- granddaughter, Rebecca Henry, Lynchburg, Va.

Norma Jean Holt, 73 of Ozark, died Thursday May 26, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Sunday, May 29, . 2005, at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Wood officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the services on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P O Box 6267, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mrs. Holt was born June 23, 1931, in Aurora, Ill., and lived there for many years. She later moved to Fox Lake, Wis., where she resided for 26 years, In 1994, she moved to Ozark where she resided the remainder of her life.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Alan and Chris Holt, Plano, Ill., and Steven Holt, Aurora, Ill.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Tom Erekson, Spanish Fork, Utah, Sand,-a and Don Shaw, Daleville; 12 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren.

Mildred Jacobs Brunson Enfinger, 84 of the Bertha Community in Dale County Ala., died early Saturday morning, May 21, 2005, in the Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 23 in the New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Dan Sheppard and W.M. Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The fam- ily will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church c/o Billy R. Grantham, 826 County Road 7, Skipperville, AL 36374.
Mrs. Enfinger was born and reared in Elba, Ala., and is the daughter of the late Bonnie Lee Jacobs and Annie Thomas Jacobs. She lived most of her life in Elba before moving to the Bertha Community in 1979. Mrs. Enfinger was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in the Bertha Community. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Elba and also the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Enfinger formerly owned and operated Mildred's Beauty Shop in Elba for many years.
Mrs. Enfinger was preceded in death by her first husband, Ellie Barnes Brunson; two sons, Phillip Harry Brunson and Hoyt Jacob Brunson; two sisters, Gladys Newton and Maurice Harris; a brother, Donald Jacobs; and also a step son-in-law, Clark Buchanan.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Hugh Dorsey Enfinger of Bertha Community; a daughter, Madalyn Brunson Miller and her husband, Johnny Miller of Ozark; two stepdaughters, Loretta Buchanan of Ozark; Sara Jane Hyde and her husband, Don Hyde of Bertha Community; a stepson, Danny Enfinger and his wife, Ellen Enfinger of Bertha Community; a sister, Patricia Salter of Ozark; a brother, Dan Jacobs and his wife, Edith Jacobs of Panama City Fla.; eight grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; several great and great-step-grandchildren.
