Mrs. Iva Mae Willis Griggs, 83, of Ariton formerly of Skipperville, died Thursday, December 14, 2000 in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P M. Saturday December 16, 2000, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jim Booth officiating.
Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P.M. Friday, December 15, 2000, until service time on Saturday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday evening.
Mrs. Griggs was a native and life-long resident of Dale County where she was a homemaker and a member of Morgan Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hoke Griggs, one sister, Edna Chancey, and one brother, Pearson Willis.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Sara and Earl Thompson, Ariton, Betty and Don Jeffrey, Eufaula, six grandchildren, James and Barbara Jeffrey, Troy Christopher Jeffrey, Montgomery, Rebecca Jeffrey, Eufaula, Rhonda and Sandy Ketcham, Ariton, five great-grandchildren, Danielle Stewart, Troy, Brooke Morgan Jeffrey, Troy, Christopher David Jeffrey Jr., Montgomery Casey and Kim Ketcham, Ariton, five brothers, J. B. Willis, Panama City FL, J. E. Willis, Geneva, James Willis, Montgomery, Puriet Willis, Prattville, Rymer Willis, Dothan, three sisters, Louise Chancey Ozark, Elizabeth Byrd, Ozark, Peggy Lewis, Montgomery.

Mr. P L. Danner Jr., 83, of the Elamville Community died early Tuesday morning, Dec. 12, 2000 in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. from Elam Baptist Church with the Rev. John Cook and the Rev. Kenneth Earles officiating. Interment will follow in Elam Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services.
Mr. Danner was a native of Barbour County served in the United States Army during World War II, and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of The American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans. He worked with the United States Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier for thirty years until his retirement. Mr. Danner was a member of the Elam Baptist Church and a past deacon. Mr. Danner was preceded in death by his parents, P L. Danner, Sr. and Annie Lott Danner one brother Homer G. Danner one sister, Lorene Garrett, and his wife, Nyral Frances Rhodes Danner in October of this year.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Joe Allen, Pintlala, Al, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert P Danner, Mobile, Tyrone R. and Peggy Danner Malvern, and Alan L. and Gay Danner, Rex, Ga, four sisters, Ruth Brock, Elamville, Ruby Grace Sutton, Elamville, Bernice Key Clio, and Lena Kate Harden, Enon Community, two brothers, Elmer Danner Clio, and Coy Danner, Elamville, eight grandchildren, Matthew Allen, Pintlala, Al, Amanda Rhea Danner Ariton, AI, Roy Patrick Danner Cottonwood, Al, Toni Roberts, Malvern, Wesley Roberts, Troy Johna Roberts, Malvem, Lucas Ryan Danner, Salt Lake City Utah, and Alana Leigh Danner, Rex, Ga, two great grandchildren also survive. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pall bearers.

Miss Essie D. Bagwell, 88, of the Brown's Cross Roads Community of Dale County died Friday morning, Dec. 8, in a Dothan hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday Dec. 10, from Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harry Stewart, the Rev. Ed Peters and the Rev. Danny Quincey officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 4:00 p.m. today until one hour prior to service time on Sunday when it will be in the Church. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 4 until 6 p.m. this afternoon.
Miss Bagwell was a native of the Brown's Cross Roads Community of Dale County where she was a member of the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church and a homemaker. She was a very dedicated family person and Church member.
Miss Bagwell was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, John and Aquilla Bagwell, three sisters, three brothers-in-law, and one nephew.
Survivors include one sister, Hettie Woodham, Ozark, nieces and nephews, Billy Hancock and his wife, Genella, Headland, Leon Hancock and his wife, Erma Nell, Headland, Lois Byrd and her husband, Reuben, Eufaula, Martha Sue Griggs and her husband, Warren, Ozark, Janice Woodham, Ozark, Byron Mallory and his wife, Zelmodean, Midland City Lewis Mallory and his wife, Emma Jean, Dothan, Joel Mallory and his wife, Annette, Ozark, and Reverend Paul Mallory and his wife, Thyra, Headland.

Christopher Edward [Chris] Nance, 25, of 118 Jeter Drive, Pinckard, died Wednesday December 6, 2000, in DeSoto, Texas.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 10, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary chapel with Rev. Thomas Kirkland and Rev. Bobby Peters officiating. Burial followed in Memory Hill Cemetery in Dothan.
Mr. Nance was a native of the Edwin Community of Henry County, but lived in Pinckard most of his life. He was a 1993 graduate of Dale County High School and had attended Wallace Community College. Mr. Nance was employed with AMX [American Motor Express] of Ashford, and was a member of the Pinckard Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, W. Olive Palmer and Kate Palmer and step-grandfather, Pete Andrews.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Laura Kay Ortagus Nance, and a daughter, Aubree Peighton Nance, both of Pinckard; mother and step-father, Joy Skipper and Jo Skipper, Grimes; father and step-mother, Edward T. Nance and Rena Nance, Ozark; three half-sisters, Krystin Andrews, Pinckard, Faith Elizabeth Nance and Amber Hope Nance, both of Ozark; paternal grandparents, Toliver and Mattie Nance, Ozark; step-grandmother, Jimmie Lou Andrews, Pinckard; step-grandmother, Merle Skipper, Grimes' former step-father, James Andrews, Pinekard; four step-brothers, Eric Andrews, Pinckard, Scott Andrews and his wife, Carman, Dothan, Mark Skipper and his wife, Kim, Mike Skipper and his wife, Tiffany, all of Grimes; a step-sister, Amy Porter, Ozark; three nephews, Blake Brackin, Tristen Andrews and Aaron Ortagus; two nieces, Marrissa Ortagus and Ariel Ortagus; several aunts and uncles including a special uncle, Mike Palmer, Malvem; a special sister-in-law and her husband, Tammy and David Brackin, Dothan.

Mrs. Thelma Adams Baxley, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with her great-nephew, pastor Randy Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral home directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Baxley was a member of Ozark Order of Eastern Star number 345. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Hubert D. Adams, and one son, Durrell Adams. Survivors include one sister, Edna R. Hancock, Columbus, Ga., many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hazel Matthews, a resident of Ozark, died Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Southeast Alabama Medical Center.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 11 a.m. from the St. Paul A.M.E. Church, East Andrews, Ozark, with the Rev. Horace Fitchard, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery on Highway 231, north of Ozark, with Trawick Funeral Home directing.

Mr. William Cleve Fennell, age 50, of Ozark, died Monday, November 27, 2000 at the family home in Ozark following an extended illness.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Wednesday November 29 2000 at the Chapel of Ward-Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
Mr. Fennell was born in Dothan having lived most of his life in the surrounding area. He was a hard worker and a good provider for his family He was a very loving and caring Father to his two children. He was a caring and friendly person to all that knew him and especially to his grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Jimmy Ard, Dothan, Ala.; one son and daughter-in-law Chris and Shania Fennell, Palmyra Va.; parents, Ruby Lewis Rhodes, Ashford, Willie Fennell, Cottonwood; six sisters, Pauline McCord, Cottonwood, Peggy Clark, Dothan, Dian Lee Ashford, Betty Barfield, Ashford, Carolyn Garner, Ozark, Barbara Jones, Cottonwood; five grandchildren, Jessica Ard, Brandon Ard, Kristin Ard, Jarod Fennell, Tyler Fennell; good friend and neighbor, Kenneth German, Ozark.

Mr. James Walter Landry, age 49, of Ozark, died Nov. 26, 2000 in LaGrange, Ga.
Private memorial services will be conducted by the family at a later date.
Landry was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Detroit, Mich. and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include one daughter, Kari Luanne Booker, West Virginia, two sons, Shane Brett Landry, Walter Miles Landry both of West Virginia; mother, Catherine Ezell, Ozark; father, Walter Miles Landry Augusta, Ga.; one sister, Susan Landry Augusta, Ga.; three brothers, Steven Landry Dothan; Daniel Fabris, Ozark; Ray Fabris, Johnsonburg, Pa.; two grandchildren, 14 nieces and seven great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Phillip L. Wilkie, 73, of Ozark, died Sunday, November 26, 2000. Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2000 at the graveside of Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home in charge or arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Caudle Skipper of Ozark; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. F.M. Spivey, 84, of Ozark, died Saturday, November 25, 2000.
Funeral Services were held Monday, November 27, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home, with Rev. Timothy Davis officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memory Garden, with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Etta Pearl Spivey, of Ozark; three daughters, Mary Peters, of Ozark, Lois Johnson, of Ozark, Ann Childree, of Dothan; two sons, Allen Johnson, of Freeport, FL, Charles Johnson, of Ozark; one grandchild, Laurie Rabon; and one great-grandchild, Jasmine Rabon.

Mrs. Annie Irene Riley, 84, of Rt. 3, Ozark (Chalkhead Community), died Friday evening, November 24, 2000, in a Dothan hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2000, from the Chalkhead Baptist Church with the Reverend Tommy West officiating, interment followed in the church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Riley lived her early life in Ozark, living in Columbus, Georgia for 42 years returning to Ozark in 1982.
Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Turner, Ozark; Barbara Brittingham, Cincinnati, Ohio; Vicki Hill, Savannah,
Georgia; four sisters, Ruth Bowman, Helen Deese, Louise Hughes, Jeanette Coaker, all of Ozark; one brother, Sam Maund, Ozark; a special friend, Horace Pippin, Ozark. Seven grandchildren, and nin.e great grandchildren also survive.

Annis Howell Riley, 90, of Rt. l, Ozark (Echo), died Friday morriing, November 24, 2000, in the Ozark Nursing Facility in Ozark, following a short illness.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 26, 2000, in the Echo United Methodist Church with Reverend Phil Craddock officiating. Burial followed in the Echo Cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing.

Mrs. Riley was born in Henry County, near Newville, the daughter of the late Alto Lee Howell and Fannie Rebecca Ellison Howell. She had lived most of her life in the Echo community. Mrs. Riley was a retired employee of Wex-Tex Manufacturing Company in Headland, and was formerly employed with the Van Heusen Manufacturing Company in Ozark. She was a member of the Echo United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Riley was preceded in death by her husband, William Odell Riley; three sisters, Gladys Ward, Mavious Godwin, Iris Kershaw, and a brother, Leon Howell.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, Bill Godwin, Ozark; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Toy C. German, 75, of Browns Crossroads community, died Friday evening, November 24, 2000, in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at I1:00 a.m., Monday, November 24, 2000, at the Ewell Cemetery with the Reverend Eugene Trawick officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. German was a life long resident of Dale County and was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include two sisters, Irene Hallford, Midland City, and Pauline Norrell, Ozark; and one brother, J.D. German, Ozark.

Mr. William R. "Bill" Davis, 44, of Orlando, Fla., died Tuesday November 21, 2000 at his parents home in Ozark following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 24, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pam Freeman and David "Head" Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Skipperville Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 4 p.m. Thursday, November 23, until service time on Friday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Mr. Davis was a native of Ozark, graduated from Carroll High School in 1974, and attended the University of Alabama. He was a crane operator in the Orlando area until becoming disabled. He was a member of Skipperville United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Davis, in 1972. Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. Davis, Orlando, one daughter, Cori Montana Davis, Orlando, one son, William Brandon Davis, Orlando, one step-son, Bryan Charles Neely, Lakeland, FL, his faithful dog, Tyler, his mother and father, Millard "Shine" and Sue Davis, Ozark, his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Willie Mae Davis, Ozark, and one brother, Andy Davis, Ozark.

Mrs. Grace Jones, 90, died Tuesday November 21., 2000, in a Dothan nursing home following a long illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, November 22, 2000, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Frank Fagan officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Grove Cemetery Midland City Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 21, 2000, until service time on Wednesday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Jones was a native of Graceville, Florida, having lived most of her life in the Mount Carmel Community of Dale County where she was a homemaker and caregiver for many people.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Larry Jones, Midland City, Alabama; Jimmy Jones, Fairbanks, Alaska; Davis Preston, Laurel Hill, Florida; Ann Kennedy, Ashford, Alabama; Mardell Steffin, Cashiers, Tennessee; Helen Wiggins, Donalsonville, Georgia; Rachel Clayton Pensacola, Florida; one brother-in-law, Eugene Jones, Midland City, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Winnie Preston, Donalsonville, Georgia.

Mrs. Rillie Carolyn Cook, 93, of Miranda Street, Ozark, died Sunday morning, November 19, 2000, in the Dale Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, from the Ozark First Assembly of God Church with the Pastor Phil Stephens and Pastor Luther Tadlock officiating. Interment followed in the Ewell Assembly of God Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Cook was a native and lifelong resident of Ozark and Dale County where she was a member of Ozark's First Assembly of God Church and was retired from Cowikee Mills after many years of service.
She is survived by: three step-daughters, Edna Smith, Johnnie Mac. Patton, and Rachael Rogers of Ozark; one stepson, Dewitt Cook, Columbus, Ga.; her sister, Mrs. Floyd Langford, Greenville; a special niece Elizabeth Miller, Ozark, and other nieces and nephews also survive; 17 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and a number of great great grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Jimmie Lewis, 52, of Ozark, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000 in Dothan.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 21, 2000, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening, with the family receiving friends during this time.
Floral tributes are requested to be either plants or floral baskets. Memorials may be made to the Child Advocacy Center in Dothan, Alabama.
The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Osepchook on Foxbriar Road in Ozark. Mr. Lewis was a native of Nashville, Tennessee, served in the United States Army in Germany and made his home in Ozark since 1970. He had been driving for Con-way Southern Express for the past nine years. Mr. Lewis and his wife owned and operated Lewis-Dorton Collectibles in Ozark and the past three years in Wiregrass Commons Mall. He was a talented musician, singer, and song writer.
Survivors include his wife, Dottie Dorton Lewis, Ozark; his children, William Lewis and his wife, April, Grimes; grandson, Devin William Lewis, Grimes, Angelia Lewis-Lesniak and her husband, Paul, Taylor, and Tara Lewis-Hoomes and her husband, Michael, Headland; his mother, Margaret Hunt, Ashland City Tenn.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur J. and Laura Osepchook, Ozark; four sisters, Betty Merrit, Beverly Heckman, Rebecca Brown, and Debra Jett, Ashland City, Tenn.; one brother, Johnnie Lewis, Redding, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sarah Frances Byrd Flowers, 91, of Ozark, died early Saturday morning, November 18, 2000, in Ozark Nursing Facility following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 20, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with her son-in-law, Dr. Henry L. Lyon, III, and her pastor, Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Assisting was Reverend Bill Hix. Interment followed in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Flowers was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Franklin Byrd, a pioneer Dale County family. She was a graduate of the Ozark City Schools and Troy State Normal School (now Troy State University). Mrs. Flowers taught school several years prior to her marriage to Fred Flowers in 1933. She was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church and a life member of the Ozark Book Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Fred Flowers, Sr., two brothers, Clifford Granade Byrd,
and C. Lomax Byrd.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Wilbur Fred Flowers, Jr. and Lorraine Hall Flowers of Ozark; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sara Jane Flowers Lyon and Dr. Henry L. Lyon, III of Montgomery, Rebecca Anne Flowers Espey and Melford E. Espey, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Beverly Jo Flowers Sparrow and Dr. Jim W. Sparrow of Enterprise; seven grandchildren survive, Jane Lyon Armour of Jackson, MS, David Louis Lyon of Birmingham, Dr. Amy Byrd Flowers Worthington of Montgomery, Wilbur Fred Flowers, III of Auburn, Melford Espey, III and Jonathan Flowers Espey of Tuscaloosa, and Melissa Anne Sparrow of Auburn; three great grandsons also survive, Garner Louis Lyon and Charles Jackson Lyon of Birmingham, and William Carol Worthington of Montgomery. Mrs. Flowers is survived by one brother, Commander [Retired] United States Navy, David Leslie Byrd of Coronado, California.
Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons and grandsons-in-law, David Lyon, Mel Espey, Jon Espey, Fred Flowers, Dale Armour, and Jack Worthington.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the Ozark Baptist Church, 314 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.

Mr. Dock Enfinger, 79, of Ozark, died Wednesday, November 15, 2000 at his home following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P M. Saturday, November 18, 2000, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Luther Tadlock officiating. Interment will follow in Browns Methodist Church Cemetery in Echo, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P. M. Friday, November 17, 2000, until service time on Saturday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Friday evening.
Mr. Enfinger was a native of Dale County, served in the United States Army during World War II, and lived in Galveston, Texas from 1947 until February of 1979, when he returned to Ozark. He was a retired longshoreman, and a member of Maritime Association Local #20 in Galveston, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elaine Price Enfinger, Ozark, three daughters and one son-in-law, Ann Dunn, Friendship, TN, Diane Frank, New Orleans, LA, and Margaret and Curtis Donihoo, Texas City, TX, four grandchildren, Melanie Elaine Donihoo, Houston, TX, Curtis Dock Donihoo, Texas City, TX, Dusty Cattheman and TN, and Mandi Frank, Long Beach, CA.

Mr. Preston Miller, 84, of Ozark, died Wednesday, November 15, 2000, in Dale Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Friday November 17, 2000, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Tommy Arledge and the Reverend Phil Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 3:00 P. M. Thursday, November 16, 2000, until service time on Friday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P M. until 8:00 P M. Thursday evening.
Mr. Miller was a native of Pike County having lived his lifetime in Ozark. He was employed with Cowikee Mills/Avondale Mills in Ozark for 47 years and was the last employee working when the plant was closed down. Mr. Miller atttended the First Assemblly of God Church in Ozark.
Survivors include his wife, Irene C. Miller, Ozark, two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Judy Miller, Dothan, Billy and Martha Miller, Ozark, two sisters, Annie Maude Armstrong, Ozark, and Mae Nell Pyle, Ozark, one brother, Ralph Miller Ozark, six grandchildren and six great grand-children also survive.

Mrs. Melinda Wells, a resident of Ozark died Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the Dale County Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Saturday Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. from the All Nations Deliverance Church of Ozark. Mrs. Wells will lie in state from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the Ozark City Cemetery. All arrangements are handled by the Trawick Funeral Home.

Rosa Bright Tharpe, age 90, of Route 3, Ozark, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, Nov. 14, after a brief illness at Dale Medical Center.
Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Reynolds and the Rev. Kenneth Andrews officiating. Interment will be at Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral . Home tonight from 6 until 8 p.m. Family will be at the home of David and Shirley Woodham, Ozark. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Corinth Free Will Baptist Church, c / o Joel Mallory, Route 3, Box 455, Ozark, 36360.
Mrs. Tharpe, a lifelong resident of Dale County was born Sept. 29, 1910, to Mr. Capp and Trecy German. She was a devoted mother and housewife. She had 14 children, nine step-children, 41 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren. Her steadfast faith in God and love for her family was her pride and joy. Her genuinely sweet and loving spirit was cherished by everyone that knew her. She enjoyed being a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Known as "Mama, Grandma, and Mrs. Bright" by her family and friends, she leaves a legacy behind non-measurable in material wealth. She will be remembered especially for her moral character, unselfish service to others, remarkable devotion to her family and total commitment to God. Family and friends will know her crown is full of stars now that her life is complete.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mr. John H. Bright, Sr.,. and Mr. Will Tharpe; three sons, John Jr., James W. and Lewie J. Bright, one daughter, Rebecca Standford, two daughters-in-law, Annice Bright, Faye Bright, three sons-in-law, Alvin Farmer, Cullen O. Caraway and Gerald Stanford. She also follows one grandson, Wakley Kirkland.
Survivors include six sons, Glenn (Minnie) Briglit, Ashford; David (Annette) Bright, Ozark; Wayne (Bobbie Jean) Bright, Milton, Fla.; Johnny (Virginia) Bright, Birmingham; Bobby (Lynn) Bright, Montgomery; and Alvin (Becky) Bright, Dothan; four daughters, Eldora Farmer, Midland City; Trecy Caraway Ozark; Shirley (David) Woodham Ozark; Mignonette (Donald) Woodham, Ozark; daughter-in-law Myrtle Bright, Ozark; and many other speciai relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mark Farmer, Chad Bright, Neal Bright, Allen Bright, Ashley Bright, and Jody Bright. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Woodham, Mitchell Woodham, Chris Woodham, Ricky Bright, Dewayne Stanford, and Marty Farmer.

Mr. Cleveland Crooks, 71, of Route 3, Ozark, died early Thursday morning November 9, 2000, at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P M. Saturday November 11, 2000, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Robert Smith and the Reverend Keith Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Woodham Cemetery near Newton, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing: Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P. M. Friday November 10, 2000 until service time on Saturday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P M. Friday evening, otherwise the family will be at the home of his son, Timothy Crooks.
Mr. Crooks was a native of Dale County where he was a member of the Chalkhead Baptist Church. He had worked in the construction industry and owned and operated Crooks Texaco and grocery on 231 South of Ozark several years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and an avid hunter and fisherman.
His wife survives him: Jane Crooks, Ozark one daughter and son-in-law: Cindy Crooks Johnson and her husband, Jim, Midland City three sons and two daughters-in-law: Mike Crooks, Ozark, Tim Crooks and his wife, Kaye, Ozark, and Steve Crooks and his wife, Robin, Dothan, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his faithful dog Rocky also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 980-D East Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.

Mrs. Charity Highsmith Mayo, 25, of College Street, Ozark, died at her home Monday afternoon November 6, 2000, following an extended illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later through Holman Funeral Home of Ozark.
