Mr. L. D. Nelson age 65 of Crossville, Al passed away Friday,
April 6, 2001 at the Marshall Medical Center South.

Retired Marine Corp M/Sgt. Dave Turner of Geraldine, AL
passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at Carraway
Methodist Hospital in Birmingham, AL.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 28, 2001 at 2pm CDT
at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Davis and Ted
Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Geraldine Cemetery.
Mr. Turner was a World War II, Korean and Vietnam Veteran
and was awarded the Purple Heart while in Vietnam.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Geraldine
Lyons Club and Desoto Laity Club. After retiring from the Marines,
He was an announcer for WAVU Radio Station in Albertville, AL
and later Mayor of Geraldine, AL for 12 years. He was an
independent insurance agent and owned T. J. Variety Store
at the time of his death.
