John Arthur Hughes. She was Professor emeritus at University of Oklahoma
and active in the Battered Women's Shelter.
Graveside service will be 1pm CST Wednesday, November 14, 2001
Burial will follow in the Walker's Chapel Cemetery. the family will receive friends.

Mrs. Rosie Tomie Jackson age 80 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Thursday,
November 22, 2001 at the Collinsville Health Care. Mrs. Jackson
was a native of Dekalb County, AL, born May 4, 1921, daughter of the
late Hugh and Delia Hancock Tommie. She was a member of the
Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and a Housewife. She was preceded in death by her
Husband; Horace Jackson in January 1997
Funeral service will be Saturday, November 24, 2001 at 11am CST at
the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Loveless (McNutt) Cemetery.

Mr. L. E. Wells age 62 of Fort Payne (Blake Community) passed away
Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at his residence. Mr. Wells was a native
of Dekalb County, AL, born July 9, 1939 son of the late Emory and Leta Everett Wells.
He was a member of the Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church
Funeral service will be Saturday, November 24, 2001 at 1pm CST
from the Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial
will follow in the Wesley's Chapel Cemetery. The family will

November 26, 2001 in the BMC Dekalb Hospital. Mrs. Lyons was born
April 8, 1930 in Collinsville, AL daughter of the late Fred and Ina Bobo Cole.
She was a member of Mt Carmel Baptist Church.

November 29, 2001 at the nursing home in Fort Payne, AL. Mrs. Shankles
was born December 30 1902 the daughter of the late Will and Gertrude
Richards Byrd in walker County, GA. Mrs. Shankles was a member of the First
Methodist Church in Fort Payne, AL and she attended Berry School in Georgia.
