Jeremy Ray Stiefel age 23 of Henagar, AL passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2000
at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.
Services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2000 at 4pm CDT from Corner Stone Chapel
with Rev. David Hairston and Rev. Mike Benefield officiating. Burial will follow in the Biddle
Cemetery at Friendship Church.
Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Sharon Stiefel, grandmother, Florence Overdear,
Fiancée, Anna Rievley, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lonnie and Bertha Stiefel and
Harold Overdear. He was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church, served as
Constable for Beat 19 in Dekalb County, Member of Dekalb Umpire Association
and served as a DJ for the Dekalb Singles. He was a graduate of Sylvania High School
and completed his third year of college.
Mr. James F. (Frank) Burke age 87 of Collinsville, AL passed away
Sunday, May 7, 2000 at the Riverview Regional Medical Center in
Gadsden. Funeral services will be 2pm CDT Tuesday, May 9, 2000
At the Collinsville Funeral Home - Sharpe Chapel with burial at the
Copeland Bridge Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral
home this evening from 6pm to 8pm CDT Monday, May 8, 2000.

Mrs. Mildred Louise Mobley age 84 of the Mt. Vernon Community
passed away Monday, May 8, 2000 at her residence. Mrs. Mobley was
a native of Dekalb County, born Dec. 3, 1915 daughter of the late James
Madison and Lydia Caroline Darnell Jackson. She was a member of the
McNutt Memorial Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Joseph Elbert Mobley.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm CDT Wednesday, May 10, 2000
from the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Marhsall
officiating. Burial will be in the Loveless Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 5pm till 9pm CDT on Tuesday, May 9, 2000
at Wilson Funeral Home.
Survivors include her daughters; Betty Cole of Fort Payne, AL, Poly Files
of Norcross GA, and Rita Kelly of Birmingham, AL. 9 grandchildren and
3 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Minnie Mae Hickman Welden age 91 of Flat Rock passed away Wednesday,
May 10, 2000 at BMC-Dekalb Hospital in Fort Payne, AL
Services will be held Saturday, May 13, 2000 at 2pm CDT from the Corner Stone Chapel
with Rev. Dan Kirkpatrick and Rev. Edgar Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the
Weldon Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 10am to 10pm CDT on Friday,
May 12, 2000 and from 9am until time of funeral on Saturday.
Survivors include husband, Paul L. Welden, daughter, Mary Frizzell of Flat Rock,
daughters and son-in-laws, Elizabeth and Michael Wozny of Canton, MI, Louise and Dorton
Matthews of Coppers Cove, TX, Gean and Alford Phillips of Flat Rock and Janet and
Thurman Bryant of Dalton, GA. Sons and daughter-in-laws, Willie and Clara Welden of
Waco, TX, Wesley and Nola Welden of Ider, AL and Glen and Carol Welden of
Chattanooga, TN. Sister, Gertie Koger of Rhode Island. 32 grandchildren, 65
great-grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Welden was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eunice Hickman,
daughter, Annie Lee Welden, son, Winston Welden and four sisters. She was a member
of New Bethel Church of God.
Mr. Bobby Larry Frazier age 51 of Vally Head, AL passed away Wednesday,
May 10, 2000.
Services will be Saturday, May 13, 2000 at 1pm CDT at the Sand Mountain
Funeral Home Chapel. rev Roy Venable and Rev. Steve Statum officiating.

Mr. Walter C. McCallie age 85 of the Dogtown Community, Fort Payne, AL
passed away Thursday, May 11, 2000 in the BMC-Dekalb Hospital.
Mr. McCallie was a native of Dekalb County, born December 12, 1914, son
of the late William and Amanda Campbell McCallie. He was a member of Walkers Chapel Methodist Church and a member of the Ruhuma Masonic
Lodge.
Funeral services will be 2pm CDT Saturday from the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Morgan officiating. Burial will be in the Walkers
Chapel Cemetery. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
Survivors include his daughter, Wanda McCallie Burt of Fort Payne, AL.
Son, Ricky McCallie of Fort Payne, AL. Brother, Millard McCallie of
Fort Payne, AL. Grandchildren, Ashley and Brandon Burt.
Our loving mother and grandmother, Martha A. Teters met her appointment with our Lord
on Sunday, May 14, 2000. She passed away in Trenton, GA at her residence at the age
of 88. She was a homemaker and a long life resident of the Tennessee, North Georgia, and
North Alabama area. She was a member of the East Brow Baptist Church and a member of the
Eastern Star Chapter # 417 of Ider, AL.
Mrs. Teters was preceded in death by her husband, H. P. Teters, daughter, Elsie Earwood,
grandson, Randy Earwood, five Sisters and 6 Brothers.
Survivors include; daughter and son-in-law, Betty J. and James E. Black of Trenton, GA,
one Sister, Bessie Stubblefield of Oneonta, AL, Grandchildren, Eddie and Ronnie Black,
Dianne Holland and Ken Earwood. twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 18, 2000 at 1pm CDT at the Corner Stone
Funeral Chapel in Ider, AL with Rev. Kevin Wilks and Rev. David Starling officiating.
Burial will follow in the Payne's Gap Cemetery.

Mrs. Edna Nancy Culver age 88 of Trenton GA passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2000
at the Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN
Services will be held Friday, May 19, 2000 at 2pm CDT from the Corner Stone
Funeral Chapel in Ider, AL with Rev. J. L. Black and Rev. Terry Avans officiating.
Burial will follow at the Beluah Chapel Cemetery in Flat Rock, AL. Family will receive
friends from 9am to 9 pm CDT on Thursday, May 18, 2000 and from 9am CDT until time
of funeral service on May 19, 2000.
Survivors include Daughters, Ruby Walraven, Juanita Hicks, Willie Beatrice Chapman
and June York, along with one son, Joseph Chester York, sisters, Bertha Whit,
Nell Cranmore, and Lena Whit, 33 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and one
great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Culver was a member of Avans Church of God and Dade Nutrition Center.
She was preceded in death by husband, William Benjamin York, son's, William Edgar
York, Thomas Jefferson York, and John York; sisters, Martha Blevins, May Young, Brothers
Arvil York, and Willard York.
Mr. Jeremy Lee Brown age 22 of Ider, AL passed away Sunday, May 28, 2000
at the Huntsville Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at 2pm CDT from the Corner Stone Funeral
Chapel in Ider, AL with Rev. Rayford Brown, Rev. Bobby Hilley, and Rev. Charles Hilley
officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain Home Cemetery. Family will receive friends
Tuesday, May 30, 2000 from 10am CDT until, and May 31, 2000 from 10am CDT until time
of Service.
Survivors include daughter, Morgan Leanna Brown of Higdon, AL, brother, Jamie Brown of
Homewood, AL, sisters Angela Harper of Dutton, AL and Lisa Meadows of Henagar, AL.
Jeremy's daughter, Emma Brown died as a result of the same accident. Jeremy was employed
at Shaw Industries in Valley Head, AL and was preceded in death by parents, James
Eldridge and Clara Leona Brown.
Miss Emma Leonna Brown age 2 of Higdon, AL passed away Saturday, May 27, 2000
in an automobile accident on County Road 141 in Ider, AL.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2000 at 2pm CDT from the Corner Stone Funeral
Chapel with Rev. Melvin Slatton and Rev. Ralph Heard officiating. Burial will follow at the
Mountain Home Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2pm to 9pm CDT on Monday,
May 29, 2000 and from 10am CDT until time of funeral service.
Survivors include mother, Sandra Lynn Brown and sister, Morgan Leanna Brown,
grandparents, Bobby J. and Bobbie L. Butler all of Higdon, AL and great grandmother,

Emma's father, Jeremy Lee Brown died as a result of the same accident.

Mr. James William Rhodes age 54 of South Pittsburg, TN (formerly of Ider, AL) Passed
away Tuesday, May 30, 2000 in Jasper, TN.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at 10am CDT at the Higdon Holiness
Church in Higdon, AL with Rev. Edward Atchley and Edwin Spurgen officiating. Burial will follow
at the Hytop Cemetery in Hytop, AL.
