April 30, 2002 in Shade of Lakeshore Medical Center in Lakeland, FL
Graveside service will be at the Copland Bridge Cemetery Saturday, May 4, 2002
at 12 noon CDT

Survivors include his Wife; Vera Mattox
Sons; Jr. Mattox, Kenneth Mattox, Roger Mattox, Billy Mattox, and Ricky Mattox
Daughters; Pat Prescott, Willodean Wilcox, Brenda Bearden, Shelia, Bearden, and
Teresa Honeycutt
A host of Garndchildren, Great-Grandchildren,, and Great-Great-Grandchildren
Sisters; Mary Simpson, Evelyn Highland, and Virginia Peek

Mr. Clyde Davenport Fischer age 76 of Fort Payne, AL passed away
Saturday, March 30, 2002 at BMC Dekalb Hospital. Mr. Fischer was
a native of Dekalb County, AL., the son of Clyde davenport, Sr. and
Mae Beck Fischer.

He is survived by his Wife; Mrs. Peggy McCollum Fischer
Daughters; Joan Fischer of Fort Payne, AL., and Julia Adeline Fischer Wibberg of Montgomery, TX.,
Granddaughter; Anna Fischer Wibberg.

Funeral service will be 4pm CST Monday, April 1, 2002 from the
Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norman Steward officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lower Sulphur
Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 31, 2002
from 4 until 8pm CST at the funeral home.

Mr. Vince Stanley of Fort Payne, AL passed away Wednesday,
April 3, 2002 at the Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, TN
Mr. Stanley was born October 27, 1917 in Georgia son of the late
Manuel Clayton and Laura Millsap Stanley. He was a retired truck driver, a veteran
of the U. S. Army, and a member of the Fort Payne Church of God. His Daughter;
Cathy Franklin preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be Friday, April 5, 2002 from the Fort Payne Church of God
with Rev. Don Bradley and Rev. Kenneth McDonald officiating. the body will
lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to service. Burial will follow in the
Adamsburg Cemetery.

Survivors include his Wife; Birma Stanley of Fort Payne, AL
Daughter and Son-in-law; Teresa and Mike Jones of Fort Payne, AL
Son and Daughter-in-law; Bobby and Jean Stanley of Hixon, TN
9 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren
Step-Son; Charles and Maggie Peek of macon, GA
Step-Daughter; Sue and Robert Stevenson of Macon, GA

Mrs. Vivian Clark Lessley age 90 of Fort Payne, AL
passed away at her residence on April 8, 2002.
Mrs. Lessley was a native of Fort Payne, AL, a member of Second Baptist Church
of Fort Payne, AL, she was a retired looper from Fort Payne Hosiery Mill where
she worked for over 40 years. She was the daughter of Philmore Green and
Rebecca Frances McCurdy Clark.

Mrs. Lessley is survived by Daughters and Son-in-law; Helen and Geary Walker,
Betty Jo and Charles Ellis, Sandra and Rev. Richard Hartline all of fort Payne, AL
Sister-in-law; Mrs. Katie Lessley of Bowling Green Florida,
14 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren
Mrs. Lessley is preceded in death by her Husband; Orvil Thurston (Bo) Lessley
and Son; O. T. Lessley, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons

Funeral service will be 1pm CDT Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Richard Hartline officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery

Mr. Henry Orval Hansard age 97 of Fort Payne, AL passed away
Tuesday, April 9, 2002 . Graveside service will be 3pm CDT Friday,
April 12, 2002 at Glenwood Cemetery in Fort Payne, AL.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 12, 2002

Mr. Robert A. Reece, age 84 of Fort Payne passed away April 9 at the Decatur General Hospital. Mr. Reece was a native of Lyerly, GA, the son of Andrew and Ida Mitchell Reece, a member of Godfrey Avenue Baptist Church, Fort Payne, where he served a a deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, and a retired electronic technician from Sears.

Mr. Reece is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Kyle Adams of Hartselle, AL, sons and daughters-in-law, C. Ray and Charlene Reece, Jonesboro, GA, Mike and Vicky Reece, Centre, AL, 8 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday, April 13, 2002 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Reece, Rev. Richard Hartline, Rev. Eulas Hughes, officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery with military services at the graveside. The family will receive friends from 5-8pm Friday.

Mrs. Annie Horton, age 68 of Fort Payne passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. Horton was a native of Dekalb County, AL, and the daughter of Tom and Lucille Taylor Frost.

Mrs. Horton is survived by husband, Bill R. Horton, Fort Payne, son and daughter-in-law, John and Melanie Horton, Henagar, AL, daughters and sons-in-law, June and Jimmy Butler, Sand Rock, AL, Beverly and the late Jerry Morton, Fort Payne, AL, Peggy and Danny Moses, Fort Payne, AL, Joy and Gregg Oliver, Collinsville, AL, brothers, Tommy Frost, Montevallo, AL, Randall Frost, Chattanooga, sisters, Louise Winkles, Centre, AL, Edna Gray, Attalla, AL, Agnes Parrish, Chattanooga, TN, Shirley Wellington, Leesburg, AL, and 10 Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2pm Friday, April, 12, 2002 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Killian officiating. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery

Br. C. D. Spillman age 66 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Saturday, April 13, 2002
at his residence. Mr. Spillman was a native of Dekalb County, AL, born February 3, 1936
son of the late parker Spillman. He was a retired construction worker and a member of
the Rock Bridge Holiness Church where he served as a Deacon.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, Aptil 16, 2002 from Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
L. D. Blevins and Rev. lee Connell officiating.. Burial will follow in the Adamsburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers include; Winford Eason, Ronald Saferite, Jim Chandler, Tony Blevins, Donnie Hilyer,
and Mike Eason.

Survivors include his Wife; Nell Eason Spillman

Mr. Buford Benefield of Fort Payne, AL passed away Thursday, April 18, 2002 at Gadsden
Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL. Funeral service will be 2pm CDT
Sunday, at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Burial in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs. Opal Green e Wheatley age 86 of Fort Payne, AL passed away
Friday, April 19, 2002 at BMC Dekalb Hospital in Fort Payne, AL
Mrs. Wheatley was born September 30, 1915 in Fyffe, AL daughter of the
late Thomas Andrew and Tirey Heaton Green e. She was a member of Gault Avenue
Baptist Church. her Husband Freddie Wheatley preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be 3:30 pm CDT Sunday, April 21, 2002 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Mike Mitchell and Rev. James Young officiating. Burial will follow
in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Survivors include her Sister; Nannie Cassidy of Fort Payne, AL
and Several Nieces and Nephews

Mrs. Odene Killian age 93 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Sunday,
April 21, 2002. Mrs. Killian was a native of a native of Cherokee County, AL
the daughter of the late John and Sarah Payton McNew. Mrs. Killian was a member of
Gravel Hill Baptist Church and a Houswife.

Mrs. Killian is survived by her Sons and Daughter-in-law; Charles and Carole Killian
of Fort Payne, AL., Hugh and Inger Killian of Montgomery, AL
Daughters and Son-in-law; Lucille and Bob Thrasher of Huntsville, AL., and
Jimmie Sue and Raymond Foy of Birmingham, AL
Sisters; Mrs. Freda Millard of Summerville, GA and Mrs. Bonnie Copland of Collinsville, AL
9 Grandchildren and 8 Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her Husband; Hugh Lois Killian.

Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Wayne Killian officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery.

The family request in lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Lebanon Cemetery Fund
or the Gravel Hill Cemetery Fund.

Mrs. Kitty Lou Clayton Lowry age 94 of Fort Payne, AL passed away
Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at the BMC Dekalb Hospital in Fort Payne, AL
Mrs. Lowry was a native of Dekalb County, AL the daughter of Benjamin
Willis and Betty Griggs Hughes, a member of the First United Methodist Church
in Fort Payne, AL., she and her Husband: the late Dick Clayton owned and
operated the Bethune Motor Court for many years in Fort Payne, AL

Mrs. Lowry is survived by her Daughter and Son-in-law; Betty Jo and Hubert
Durham of Fort Payne, AL
Sisters; Mrs. Leo H. Chitwood and Marie Hughes both of Birmingham, AL

Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 24, 2002 at 11am CDT from
Glenwood Cemetery with Dr. Mark Lacey officiating. The family request
that in lieu of flowers donations be made to your favorite charity.

Mr. Harry W. Wright age 75 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2002
in the BMC Dekalb Hospital in Fort Payne, AL. Mr. Wright was born
may 21, 1926 son of the late Herman and Stella Rogers Wright. He was a member of
Highland Baptist Church and retired from the U. S. Army. He was also retired
from Fort Payne Wholesale Co. A Son; Dwight Wright preceded him in death.

Funeral service will be 11am CDT Friday, April 26, 2002 at Wilson Funeral Home
Chapel in Fort Payne, AL with Rev. John Keefe officiating. Burial will follow
in the Fort Payne Memory Gardens. Pallbearers include; Howard Harper,
Jimmy Harper, Doyle Dobbs, Herbert Evans, Jerry Keith, Karl Wright, Shelton Cason,
and LarryShellhorse.

Survivors include his Wife; Barbara Harper Wright
