Mrs. Wanda Boyd Browder age 77 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Saturday,
September 29, 2001. Mrs. Browder was a member of the St. Paul Methodist Church
in Fort Payne, AL. She was a contestant in the Ms. Alabama Nursing Home Contest.
She was Miss Crowne Health Care in 1999. A native of Herrin, Illinois the daughter
of Benjamin and Ida Waller Boyd. She was a retired beautician, and traveled throughout
7 southern states as a Beauty Consultant Supervisor with Lorick Enterprises.

Mrs. Browder is survived by her Sons; John Bennett Vartanian and Joseph
Armen Vartanian, both of Fort Payne, AL
Daughter; Mrs. Julia Steed of Bridgeton, Missouri
Brother; John B. Boyd of Fort Payne, AL
Sister; Mrs. Ola Painter of Crossville, AL
5 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren

Funeral services will be Monday, October 1, 2001 at 3pm CDT at the
Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Soule officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fischer Cemetery.

MRS. ISABELLE MILLER McSPADDEN

Mrs. Isabelle Miller McSpadden age 96 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Thursday, September5, 2002 in the BMC Hospital in Fort Payne, AL. Mrs. McSpadden was born June 1, 1906 in Hinton, W.V., daughter of the late Arthur and Sally Pearl Callahan Miller. She was a member of the St. Phillips Episcopal Church, Mt. Laurel Garden Club, Valley Head Women's Club, she was a member of the Delta Kappa Sorority. She Graduated from Shorter College in Rome, GA with a Master Degree.

Memorial service will be Monday, September 9, 2002 from the Fort Payne First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Grady Richardson and Rev. Jerry Davis officiating.. The family will receive friends Monday, September 9, 2002 from 10am until 11am CDT.

Survivors include her Sons; James A. Wise, III of El Paso, TX., William A. Wise of Mentone, AL., and Lyle K. Wise of Willmington, N.C.
Step-Daughter; Jean Burt of St. George Island, FL
6 Grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren

MRS. EMILY HILL PEEK PRESSWOOD

Mrs. Emily Hill Peek Presswood age 91 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Thursday, September 5, 2002 at her residence.

Graveside service will be 1pm CDT Friday, September 6, 2002 at Glenwood Cemetery with Tommy Silver and James Silver officiating. Burial will follwo in the Glenwood Cemetery. The family request donations to the Dekalb Jackson Hospice program.

Survivors include her Daughter; Elizabeth P. Light of Fort Payne, AL
Granddaughter and Grandson-in-law; gail and Lamar Vaughn of Birmingham, AL
Great-Grandson; Jay Vaughn of Birmingham, AL
Sisters; Betty Silver of Henagar, AL., Polly head of Santa Rosa, FL., and Jean Wellshear of Wichita, KS.
Brother; Samual Peek of Calhoun, GA and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

MR. CHARLES STERLING

Mr. Charles Sterling of Grayson, KY, a retired truck driver with T.T. Brooks Trucking Co. of Fort Payne, AL passed away in Kentucky. Service will be 11am CDT Friday from the Sparks Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the East Carter Co. Memorial Gardens Wilson Funeral Home of Fort Payne are in charge of the local arrangements.

MR. ALVIN CLIFFORD "CLIFF" NEIFFER

Mr. Alvin Clifford "Cliff" Neiffer age 71 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Friday, September 6, 2002. he was born August 19, 1931 in Washington. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Graveside service will be Monday, September 9, 2002 at 4pm CDT at the Loveless Cemetery in McNutt Community. Visitation will be Monday, September 9, 2002 from 2 until 3:30 pm CDT at the funeral home.

Survivors include his Special Friends; Dale and Martha Cole and the Employees of the Crowne Health Care.

MRS. VIRGINIA ANN JONES

Mrs. Virginia Ann Jones age 72 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Thursday, September 12, 2002 at the BMC Hospital in Fort Payne, AL. She was born January 6, 1930 in Dejakb County, AL, daughter ofthe late Wallace B. and Hazel Lyle Faulkner. She was retired from Fort Payne Dekalb Hosiery and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Funeral service wil be 11am CDT Saturday, September14, 2002 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Pat McFadden officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Herman Cemetery. The Family request donations to the First Baptist Church or flowers.

Survivors include her Sons; Jimmy Dan Jones of Harrison, TN., and Ronald Lee Jones of Hokes Bluff, AL.,
Sisters; Marjorie Abbott of Fort Payne, AL., Lacretia Jo James of Elizabethtown, KY., and Elizabeth Street of Hokes Bluff, AL

MR. RAYFORD ELLIOTT BROOKS

Mr. Rayford Elliott Brooks age 67 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Friday, September 20, 2002 at his residence. Mr. Brooks was the son of the late; Roy and Josie Allen Brooks. He was a native of Jackson County, AL, a member of the Second Baptist Church of Fort Payne, AL, member of the Dekalb County V.F.W. Post 3128, Fort Payne Masonic Lodge No. 437,
Alhambra Shrine Temple in Chattanooga, TN, and a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

MR. Brooks is survivied by his Wife; Betty Jo Brooks, Daughter and Son-in-law; Dejuana and Danny Williams of Savannah, GA., Melissa and Donnie Pack of Henagar, AL., Audrey and Frank Humpreys of Fort Payne, AL
Brothers; Roy Brooks, Jr. of Leesburg, AL. Bruce and Waylon Brooks of Fort Payne, AL
Sister; Jo Nell McNew of Fort Payne, AL
Grandchildren; Colton and Cassidy Pack, Robert and Morgan Petitt.

Funeral service will be 2pm CDT Sunday, September 22, 2002 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with rev. Steve Lusk and Rev. Ronald Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery with Masonic Rites. The Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2002 from 4 until 8pm CDT.

MRS. KELLY LOUISE MARSH THOMPSON

Mrs. Kelly Louise Marsh Thompson age 39 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Sunday, September 29, 2002 at her residence. Mrs. Thompson was born November 5, 1962 in Santa Rosa, CA., daughter of Louis S. Marsh, Jr. and Judith A. Benevides Marsh. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Payne, AL and employed with her Husband, Dr. Jeff Thompson. She received her Nurses Degree from the University of Alabama and had worked for BMC Hospitals, U.A.B. Hospitals and Children's Hospital

Survivors include her Husband; Dr. Jeffery H. Thompson of Fort Payne, AL
Daughters; Kendall Chase Thompson and Cameron Rose Thompson of Fort Payne, AL

MR. KENNETH BELL

Mr. Kenneth Bell age 44 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Saturday, September 21, 2002 at his residence. Mr. Bell was the son of the late Roy Bell and Corene North. He was an employee at Sara Lee Bakery, Fort Payne, a member of the Fort Payne Church of God and BCTGM 611

Mr. Alvin Reed Blessing age 87 of Dawson, AL passed away Monday, September 9, 2002 in Marshall Medical Center South.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at 11am CDT at the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Webb and Rev. Jimmy Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens

In Lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Gideon Living Memorial Bible Plan.

Mr. Earley Caleb Higgins age 93 of Lebanon, TN formerly of Dutton, AL passed away Saturday, September 14, 2002 at his residence. Funeral service will be Monday, September 16, 2002 at 2pm CDT at the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Higgins and Rev. M. B. Bailey officiating.
