Mrs. Dot Patton age 69 of Rainsville, AL passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2002 in BMC Montclair in Birmingham, AL. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at 4pm CDT at the Broadway Baptist Church in Rainsville, AL. The body will lie in state at the church from 3 until 4pm CDT with Dr. Kevin McCreless, Rev. Jimmy Griffin, Rev Nolan Ford, and Dr. Ted Taylor officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

MRS. MARTHA DOBBS BROOKS

Mrs. Martha Dobbs Brooks age 95 of Fort Payne, Al passed away December 7, 2002 at her residence, Mrs. Brooks was a native of Kentucky and a member of the Round Pond Presbyterian Church of Franklin Kentucky. Mrs. Brooks is survived by her Step-Sons; Bill Brooks of Dillard, GA., and Lloyd Brooks of Fayetteville, N. C. Step-Daughter; Polly Anderson of Athens, TN, Several Nieces and Nephews and lots of Step-Grandchildren

Funeral service will be 2pm Monday, December 9, 2002 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doyle Shirey officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

MRS. GLADYS C. APPLETON

Mrs. Gladys C. Appleton of Fort Payne, AL passed away Friday, December 6, 2002 at BMC Hospital in Fort Payne, AL. She was preceded in death by her Husband; Jess L Appleton. She was born January 9, 1910 in Cleburne County, AL, the daughter of the late William W. and Cora Brown Cochran.

Mrs. Appleton taught elementary school in the Fort Payne School System for 43 years. she was a graduate of Jacksonville State Teachers College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1926

Graveside service will be Saturday, December 7, 2002 at Glenwood Cemetery.\ with rev. Chris Denson officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity in her memory.

MRS. ONIE MAE BLEVINS

Mrs. Onie Mae Blevins age 69 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Saturday, December 14, 2002 at BMC Dekalb Hospital. She was born in Jackson County, AL, the daughter of the late James L. and Mamie Watkins Bates. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Blevins worked at V. I. Prewett Hosiery Mill and the Fort Payne High School Lunch Room.

MR. PORTER MEANS GILLILAND

Mr. Porter Means Gilliland age 84 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Saturday, December 14, 2002 at his residence. Mr. Gilliland was a native of Etowah County, AL, the son of hte late Henry Ross and Janie Means Gililand, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Payne, AL, a graduate of the class of 1939 of Auburn University, the charter member of the Fort Payne Rotary Club. member of the Little River Chapter Sons of the American Revolution. Mr. Gilliland was the owner of the Green Mountain Feed Company and Echols Feed Company of Fort Payne, AL

Mr. Gilliland is survived by his Wife; Ellen Journey Gilliland
Son; Porter Gilliland, Jr. of Fort Payne, AL

Daughter and Son-in-law; Nancy and Lee Coble of Fort Payne, AL
Grandchildren; Mary Beth Grigsby and Hank Cobble.

Funeral service will be 11am CST Monday, December 16, 2002 at the First Baptist Church in Fort Payne, AL with Dr, Pat McFadden and Dr. Dan Ireland officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.

MRS. IMONELL (NELL) STALLINGS

Mrs. Imonell (Nell) Stallings age 76 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Thursday, December 12, 2002 at her daughter's residence. Mrs. Stallings was born May 28, 1926 in Dekalb County, AL., daughter of hte late Joe W. and Ethel Chesse Rogers. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her Husband; Sam Stallings.

Funeral service will be 1pm CST Sunday, December15, 2002 from the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A. C. Durham and Rev. Mike Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Fuller Cemetery in Ider, AL. Grandson will be Pallbearers.

Mr. Samuel Prewett Johnson age 24 of Auburn, AL passed away Tuesday, December17, 2002 at his residence. Sam was a graduate in 1996 of Fort Payne, High School and he had attended Auburn University. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather; V. I. Prewett and Paul Johnson.

Funeral service will be 11am CST Thursday, December 19, 2002 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry De Hart and Rev. Kenneth parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Fischer Cemetery. The family request no flowers, donations can be made to the V. I. Prewett or Paul Johnson SCholarship Funds.
