Lillie Hankins age 92 of Guin, AL died Tuesday, February 8, 2005 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL.
Born in Lamar County, Alabama. She is the Daughter of the late Kernal and Cardellia Easter Hankins. She had lived in Guin most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by A Daughter, Mertie Bell Nelson of Guin, AL, Two Granddaughters, Mary E. Randle of Russellville, AL and Ethel Doughty of Guin, AL, 7 Great Grandchildren and 20 Great Great Grandchildren.
Services held Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel in Guin with Burial in the Beaver Creek Cemetery. Bro. Willie Joe Hollis and Bro. Keith Cobb officiating.

Ethel Ray Hall
Ethel Ray Hall age 98 of Thomasville, AL formerly of Sulligent, AL died Tuesday, February 8, 2005 in the Grove Hill Hospital in Grove Hill, Alabama.
Born in Fulton, Mississippi. She is the Daughter of the late Nathan Thomas and Melissa Mink Ray and the Wife of the late William Gordon Hall. She had lived in Sulligent most of her life where she had been a member of the Sulligent United Methodist Church since 1927. Mrs. Hall and her husband owned and operated Hall Chevrolet in Sulligent for 46 years. The past 3 ½ years she has lived in an assisted living home in Thomasville, AL. She had attended the Blue Mountain College in Mississippi.
She is survived by A Daughter, Gloria H. Crider of Decatur, AL, Two Grandchildren, Cheryl Clarke of Grove Hill, AL and Kyle Crider of Helena, AL, Two Great Grandchildren, Amy Davis of Grove Hill, AL and Emily Clarke of Tuscaloosa, AL, Two Sisters, Idie Collier and Dorothy Hill both of Baldwyn, MS and A Brother, Nathan Ray of Baldwyn, MS.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, William Gordon Hall, and a Step Daughter, Mabel H. Peeler.
Services held Friday, February 11, 2005 at 1:00 PM from the Sulligent United Methodist Church with burial in the Sulligent City Cemetery. Rev. John S. Smith and Rev. Ray Wade officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sulligent United Methodist Church.

Sara Mullins Pennington
Sara Mullins Pennington age 77 of Guin, AL died Sunday, January 30, 2005 in the Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, AL.
Born in Dorsey, Mississippi she is the Daughter of the late Bonnie Frank and Nancy Ida Wood Mullins. She had lived in Guin most of her life and was a member of the Guin First Baptist Church. She attended Judson College in Marion, AL, the University Of Alabama and U.A.B. in Birmingham. She was a retired teacher in the Marion County School System.
She is survived by a Daughter, Nancy Pennington Benton (John) of Birmingham, AL, Two Sons, John Wesley Pennington III (Reba) of Atlanta, GA and Frank Daniel Pennington (Karen) of Birmingham, AL, Four Grandchildren, Amy, Amanda and Brandon Pennington and Elizabeth Benton, and A Brother, Robert A. Mullins (Bobbie) of Guin, AL.
Services held Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 10:00 AM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Scott Stokes officiating.

Melvin Hood
Melvin Hood age 80 of Pontiac, IL formerly of Lamar County, AL died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 in the ASTA Care Center in Pontiac, IL.
Born in Lamar County, AL. He is the Son of the late Benny and Geneva O'Mary Hood. He had lived in Rock Island, IL for 31 years and retired from International Harvestor before he moved back to Lamar County in 1983 where he lived until moving to Pontiac, IL in 2002. He was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean War having served in the US Army and Navy. He was a member of the River Side Free Will Baptist Church in Bettendorf, Iowa.
He is survived by Three Daughters, Laura Vice of Vernon, AL, Eva Pennington, and Angie Hood both of Pontiac, IL, A Son, Stephen Hood of Pontiac, IL. Six Grandchildren, Eddie Wayne Vice, Johnny Wayne Vice, Jason Kelly Hood, Stephanie Renea Vice, Derrick Dewayne Stanford and Jacob Scott Pennington, Four Great Grandchildren, Kristyn Blair Vice, Adrianna Elizabeth Vice, Jose Alejandro Serna and Madison Ameri Serna.
He was also preceded in death by four children, Kelly Roy Hood, James Melvin Hood, Janet Leigh Hood, and Jackie Kelly Hood, three Sisters, and two Brothers.
Services held Monday, January 31, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel in Sulligent with burial in the Wofford Cemetery. Bro. Edward Puckett officiating.
