Born in Lamar County, AL. She is the Daughter of the late C.T. and Amanda Sanford Hester. She had lived in Vernon most of her life and was a member of the Full Gospel Worship Center in Vernon and had worked for the Junior Food Mart in Vernon.
She is survived by her Husband, Freddie Garvin, Jr. of Vernon, AL, A Daughter, Kem Granato of Ohatchee, FL, Two Sons, M.W. Bays of FL and Tommy Bays of Homestead, FL, 6 Grandchildren, and A Brother, Thomas Franklin Hester of Homestead, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 6:00 pm from the Full Gospel Worship Center in Vernon.

Avist Carden
Avist Carden age 96 of Sulligent, AL died Monday, December 12, 2005 in the Care Center of Vernon.
Born in Lamar County, AL. She is the Daughter of the late Green Thomas and Effie Jane Knight Blaylock and the Wife of the late Robert Matthew Carden. Robert and Avist were married April 18, 1926. She had lived in the Shiloh North Community all of her life and was a member of the Shiloh North United Methodist Church.
She is survived by Two Daughters, Eunice Laverne (Gene) Risner of Sulligent, AL, and Gwyneth Jean (Wayne) Dalton of Huntsville, AL, A Son, James Matthew (Martha) Carden Sr. of Amory, MS, Two Grandchildren, James Matthew (Linda) Carden, Jr. of Batesville, MS and Robert Fred (Diana) Carden of Smackover, AR, Four Great Grandchildren, Robert Shane Carden, Heather Michelle Carden, Nicole Elise Carden and Monica Alexandra Carden, Three Sisters, Irene Gann of Florence, AL, Tommie Rae Alexander of Shalimar, FL and Betty Jane Scott of Columbus, MS and A Brother-In-Law, Howard Sizemore of Columbus, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Robert Matthew Carden, Six Sisters, Lorene Sizemore, Christine Kittrell, Gertrude Gilliland, Azell Sowell, Jimmy Nell Young and Joyce Inell Carden, a Daughter-In-Law, Azell Christian Carden, an Infant Brother and an Infant Sister.
Services held Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 3:00 PM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Edward Puckett and Bro. Tim Reeves officiating.
Pallbearers were Steve Scott, Steve Jr. Scott, Robert Bevis, Paul Scott, Richard Jaggers and David Clifton. Honorary Pallbearers were Men of the Shiloh North Methodist Church and Johnny Rogers.

Sophia Riggins age 21 of Birmingham, AL died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Fayette, AL She is the Daughter of Perry Reed and Carolyn Riggins Johnson. She had lived in Guin, Huntsville and Birmingham.
She is survived by Three Children, Jonathan, Shamia and Dewayne, Mother, Carolyn Riggins Johnson of Huntsville, AL, Father, Perry Reed of Leeds, AL, Step Father, James Johnson of Huntsville, AL, A Sister, Shontae Riggins of Huntsville, AL a Niece Makayla Acklin of Huntsville, AL, Grandfather, Clarence Riggins Sr. of Guin, AL, Grandmother, Catherine Sullivan of Huntsville, AL, Grandmother, Sherry Truelove of Atlanta, GA, Great Grandmother, Adis Riggins of Guin, AL, Five Uncles, Clarence, Lawrence, Rex and Ray Riggins and Quincy Harris and Four Aunts, Shirley, Shelia, Shania and Brenda, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Great Grandparents, Edward and Ruth Lipsey.

James T. Webb, Sr.
James T. "Shaven" Webb, Sr. age 79 of Guin, AL died Wednesday, December 7, 2005 in the Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham.
Born in Guin, AL. He is the Son of the late Roy and Ann Flurry and the Husband of the late Veler Lee Lawrence. He had lived in Guin most of his life, was a Veteran of World War II having served in the US Army and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. He was a member of the Coffee Drinkers at the Apple Farm Restaurant and loved fishing.
He is survived by 2 Daughters, Shelia Duran of Canon City, CO and Rebecca Tamez of Oxford, NC, 2 Sons, James T. Webb, Jr. of Nettleton MS and Mark Webb of Colorado Springs, CO A Sister Grace Haynes of Guin, AL. 11 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
