Born in Winfield, AL. He is the Son of the late Marvin David and Mittie Francis Guthrie Nix. He had lived in Guin most of his life and was a member of the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his Wife, Ruth Smith Nix, Two Daughters, Genita Permenter and Karen Nix all of Guin, AL A Son, Phil Nix of Ft. Myers, FL, Three Grandchildren, David Ray Nix, Jeffrey Ryan Nix and Joshua Michael Brusati and a Brother, Alton Nix of Guin, AL.
Services held Thursday, November 17, 2005 2:00 pm from the Liberty Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the Old Liberty Cemetery. Bro. James Carrington and Bro. Randy Wright officiating.

Curt Taylor
Curt Taylor age 81 of Beaverton, AL died Saturday, November 12, 2005 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL.
Born in Sulligent, AL. He is the Son of the late Issacc Edward and Leah Hawkins Taylor. He had lived in the Lost John Community for the past 70 years, and was a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the US Army, a member of the American Legion and VFW and had worked for McCoy Manufacturing and was a farmer.
He is survived by his Wife, Pauline Dill Taylor of Beaverton, AL, Two Daughters, Paulette (Mark) Downey of Beaverton, AL and Debbie (Jacky) Haley of Hubbertville, AL, Three Sons, Larry (Gail) Taylor of Green wood Springs, MS, Ira Joe (Delinda) Taylor of Guin, AL and Lynn (Debra) Taylor of Bankston, AL. 9 Grandchildren, Tiffany, Jason, Heather, Jared, Jerromy, Mindy, Renea, Dustin and Dillon, and 3 Great Grandchildren, Trevor, Hope, and Emma. Four Sisters, Nellie G. Rye of Detroit, AL, Betty Jane Elliott of Vernon, AL, Mary Lou Dill and Lula Bell Taylor both of Beaverton, AL and A Brother, Frank Taylor of Beaverton, AL. He was also preceded in death by Two Brothers, Luther and Daniel Taylor.
Services held Monday, November 14, 2005 at 2:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Olive Hill Cemetery. Bro. Randy Wright officiating.

Wayne C. Allison
Wayne C. Allison age 90 of Sulligent died Thursday November 10, 2005 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL.
A native of Pennsylvania. He was son of the late David and Jessie Weyant Allison. Mr. Allison had lived in the River Road Community of Lamar County since 1965, he was member of the Sulligent United Methodist Church, retired school teacher, a graduate of SMU and Texas Colleges, a Mason and Shriner. His military career was with the 42nd Air Force Flying Tigers in China-Burma-India. He enjoyed reading, traveling and hunting, was charter member of the North Lamar County Rescue Squad and was active in many civil clubs in years past.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Loggains Allison of Sulligent and a sister, Betty Jane Lassiter of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services Saturday November 12, 2005 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Norwood Funeral Home in Sulligent with Bro. Greg Cook officiating with burial in the Pope Cemetery.

Ruth Weeks Baird
Ruth Weeks Baird age 81 of Guin, AL died Tuesday, November 8, 2005 in the Care Center of Vernon.
Born in Beaverton, AL. She is the Daughter of the late William S. and Martha Shelnut Weeks and the Wife of the late George Baird, Jr. She had lived in Guin most of her life. She had retired from the State of Alabama, owned and operated Ruth's, and was a member of the Guin First Baptist Church.
She is survived by Three Sisters, Marjorie McKay of Birmingham, AL, Dorothy McDonald of McGregor, TX and Jane Potter of Birmingham, AL, Two Brothers, Jimmy Weeks of Orlando, FL and Wayne Weeks of Hamilton, AL. Several Nieces and Nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a Son, Michael Baird.
Services held Thursday, November 10, 2005 4:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Scott Stokes officiating.
