Azie Lee Flynn Black Cain

Azie Lee Flynn Black Cain age 87 of Winfield, AL formerly of Beaverton, AL died Wednesday morning in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield.

Born in Marion County, AL. She is the Daughter of the late Walter and Arzone Dodd Flynn. She had lived in Bernie, Missouri for several years and in Guin and Winfield the past 10 years. She was a member of the Church Of Christ.

She is Survived by a Daughter, Rachel Robertson of Winfield, AL, Three Grandchildren, Dewayne Black of Winfield, AL, David Black of Guin, AL and Angie Black of Mississippi, 6 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews.

Services held Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 2:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel in Guin with burial in the Love Joy Cemetery.

Visitation Thursday 1 - 2 pm at the funeral home just prior to service.

James Verlon Irvin

James Verlon Irvin age 86 of Detroit Alabama died Tuesday November 7, 2006 at the Care Center of Vernon.

Born in Lamar County to the late James Greely and Irbie Lodell Gilmore Irvin. He was a member of the Detroit Baptist Church and had lived in the Detroit area most of his Life. He was a Truck Driver by trade and loved to go fishing with family and friends.

Survived by his Wife: Jean Knight Irvin of Detroit, AL, Three Daughters: Carolyn (Jerry) Hall and Connie (Phil) Frye both of Splunge, MS and Cheryl (Steve) Wilson of Sulligent, AL Two Sons: Johnny Otts and Jim Otts both of Sulligent, AL, Twelve Grandchildren, Twenty Six Great-Grandchildren, One Great-Great Grandson and Several Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by a Sister: Velma Lovelady, One Daughter: Charlene Myatt, Three Sons: Clenton, Claxton, and Clayton Irvin and One Grandson: Donald Irvin.

Services held Thursday November 9, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Tim Markham Bro. Edward Puckett and Bro. Danny Stanford Officiating.

Pallbearers: Dewayne Oliver, Thomas Lucas, Rex Dalton, Randy Rye, James “Pistol” Ballard, and Johnny Otts.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. W.C. Box., Dr. R. W. Davis, Jimmy Otts, Phil Frye, Jerry Hall, Steve Wilson, J.C. Carter and John Seals.

Visitation held Wednesday November 8, 2006 from 6 until 9 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

Orbie Cantrell

Orbie Cantrell age 74 of Shelby, Alabama died Saturday, November 4, 2006 in the Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.

Born in Guin, AL he is the Son of the late Cooper A.K. and Era Mosley Cantrell. He had lived in Birmingham most of his life and had lived in Shelby, AL the past 13 years. He was a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Navy and was a member of the Guin First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by His Wife, Jean Pratt Cantrell of Shelby, AL, A Daughter, Nichole Cantrell of Fairmount, GA, 3 Sons, David and Allen Cantrell of Hamilton, AL, and Greg Cantrell of Birmingham, AL. 2 Step Sons, Michael Franks of Spanish Fort, AL and Scott Franks of Winfield, AL, 7 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, 7 Step Grandchildren and 4 Step Great Grandchildren, and 2 Brothers, Walter and James Cantrell both of Birmingham, AL.

Services held Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 2:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Elvis Cochran officiating.

Visitation Monday 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

Willie Weeks Reeves

Willie Weeks Reeves age 84 of Columbus Mississippi formerly of Beaverton, AL died Sunday October 15, 2006 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus Mississippi.

She was born in Lamar County to the late Glover and Lillie Lou White Weeks and the wife of the late Roy Shelton Reeves. She was a member of the McBee Baptist Church in Columbus, MS where she had lived for over Sixty years. She had retired from the Seminole Manufacturing Company after Fifty years of service.

Survived by Three Sisters: Maggie Markham of Beaverton, AL, Mary Ruth Barnes of Birmingham, AL and Kathleen Smith of Warrior, AL, and Several Nieces and Nephews who loved her dearly along with many Friends and Neighbors.

Preceded in death by Two Brothers, Morgan Weeks and Peter Weeks, Three Sisters, Carrie Weeks, Lucy Stanford and Frances Stanford.

Services held Wednesday October 18, 2006 at 11:00 A.M from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Webb Cemetery. Bro Jimmy Ray officiating.

Visitation: Tuesday October 17, 2006 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M at the Norwood Funeral Home.
