Willie Lee Robertson age 86 of Detroit, AL, passed away Friday, August 3, 2007, at her residence.
Born in Lamar County to the late Willie Green and Mary Lee White Ray and the wife of the late Woodford D. (Woodie) Robertson, she was a resident of the Detroit, AL area most of her life and a member of the Detroit Methodist Church. She was a school teacher for twenty-two years, first at Pleasant Hill Elementary School in Vernon, AL, later at the Detroit Elementary School in Detroit, AL.
Survived by Two Daughters, Sylvia (Billy Carl) Eastman of Sulligent, AL and Cynthia (Larry) Crosby of Detroit, AL, Four Grandchildren, Keith Crosby, Brian Crosby, Michelle (Colin) Owens, Michael (Lori) Eastman, and Eight Great Grandchildren, Emily Crosby, Morgan Crosby, Chase Crosby, Reid Crosby, Carson Owens, Conner Owens, Wheeler Eastman, and Anna Katherine Eastman.
Preceded in Death by her Parents, Husband and a Sister Ouida Ray Roberts.
Services held Sunday, August 5, 2007, at 2:00 P.M. from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Carter Cemetery in Detroit, AL. Bro. Tim Markham officiating.
Visitation Saturday, August 4, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Brian Crosby, Keith Crosby, Michael Eastman, Colin Owens, Corey Kelly, Herbert Scott, Jarrett Pope, Will Canterbury, and Morgan Crosby.

David Rushing
David Rushing age 66 of Brilliant, Alabama died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Lamar County, Alabama. He is the Son of the late Hershel and Velcie Roberts Rushing. He was a graduate of Marion County High School and a graduate of Auburn University Pharmacy School. He had lived in Brilliant the past 27 years where he was a Pharmacist from 1980 to 2005. He served on the Board of Directors for the Brilliant Housing Authority and was a member of the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his Wife, Carolyn Moseley Rushing of Brilliant, AL, A Daughter, Shelley Ann (William Allen) Webster of Guin, AL, A Son, Derek Lance Rushing of Brilliant, 2 Nieces, Michelle Moseley - Christian (Kurt), and Gabrielle Moseley, A Nephew, John Taylor Moseley, a Brother-In-Law, Jerry Taylor (Martha) Moseley of Florence, AL, an Aunt, Eloise Scott of Green wood Springs, MS, an Uncle, Harmon "Bub" (Janie) Rushing of Ft. Payne, AL, and several cousins.
Services held Friday, July 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Bill Duncan and Bro. David Sexton officiating.

Addie Mae Hollis
Addie Mae Hollis age 81 of Sulligent, AL passed away Saturday July 21, 2007 at the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, AL.
Born in Lamar County to the late Lace Webster and Barbara Jane Hardy Yarbrough and the wife of the late Renon Box Hollis. She was a resident of Lamar County all of her life and a member of the Nebo Methodist Church. She was the owner and operator of the Hollis Grocery along with her late husband Renon B. Hollis from 1960 to around 1991.
Survived by One Son: Renon Dale (Susie) Hollis of Sulligent, AL, One Sister: Wilma (J.A.) Moore of Vernon, AL, One Grandson: Nicolas Hollis of Sulligent, AL, Two Sisters in law Violet Hollis of Sulligent, AL and Ray Northam of Mobile, AL.
Services held Monday July 23, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Furnace Hill Cemetery. Bro. Danny Dean officiating.

Oid Wayman Stokes
Oid Wayman Stokes, age 85, of Tuscaloosa, died Monday, July 9, 2007, in the Heritage Health Care Center.
Born in Pickens County in January 1922 to the late Jafus V. Stokes and Melvin Ida Hardin Stokes. He served our country as a member of the U.S. Army in World War II. He was married to Grace Blakeney Stokes for 63 years.
Mr. Stokes was employed by Gulf States Paper Corp. and served as president of the Local 157. He later worked for All-Pak Plastics in Atlanta, Georgia until his retirement in 1988. He spent the rest of his life enjoying his family, gardening, dancing and traveling. He was a member of South Highland Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Blakeney Stokes; A daughter, Pamela Stokes Kelley (John) of Panama City, Fla.; A son, Scott Wayman Stokes (Sharon) of Guin; Two sisters, Lounell Cook and Mary Sullivan; and Two grandchildren, April Kelley Lewis (Ian) of Houston, Texas and Lura Katherine Kelley of Panama City, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, A son, Timothy Lynn Stokes of Tuscaloosa, Four sisters, Jennie Durrough, Lorraine McAdams, Earlene Pratt and Grace Smith, and Three brothers, W.F. "Bill" Stokes, Gurvis Stokes and Vade Stokes.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Scott W. Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
