Grace Belmont Hurst

Funeral for Grace Belmont Hurst was held Tuesday, September 16, 2 p.m., at Elliott Funeral Home with Gary Carter Sr. officiating.

Burial was in the Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Hurst died Saturday, September 13, 1997, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center.

She was born in Trenton, N.J. Mrs. Hurst was part owner of Rainbow Drive-In and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She occasionally visited Hillsboro Heights Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, William D. Hurst; two sons, Will Hurst and Tom Hurst, both of Hillsboro; a daughter, Grace B. Hurst of Oregon; and a grand-daughter.

Pallbearers were Will Hurst, Alton Brannon, Frank Holderfield, Travis Wadsworth, Loyd Glenn and Clyde King.

Sue A. Suski

80, City of Chicago employee, Chicago

Sue A. Suski died Tuesday, September 9, 1997, at Chicago Holy Cross Hospital.

The funeral was held Saturday, September 13, at Immaculate Conception Church in Chicago with burial at St. Casimir Cemetery in Chicago.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Mayer of Chicago; three sons, Richard Suski and David Suski, both of Town Creek and William Suski of Hartselle, S.C.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Cebat of Port Richey, Fla.

Grandsons were the pallbearers.

Hollis Aaron Sapp

65, piping superintendent, Caddo

Funeral for Hollis Aaron Sapp, who died Thursday, September 11, 1997, at his home of an apparent heart attach, was held Sunday, September 14, 2 p.m., at Parkway Funeral Hone. O.D. Bowling and C.G. Reding officiated.

Burial was in the East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Sapp was born in Lawrence County to Grace Hampton and Thomas Sapp. He was piping superintendent for Rust International. Mr. Sapp was a member of Five Points Christian Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Louise Sapp; two sons, Thomas Sapp and Jason H. Sapp, both of Caddo; three daughters, Vanessa Gamble of Caddo and Ranee L. McConnell and Holly Dapp, both of Decatur; one brother, G.W. Sapp of Caddo; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rick Barnes, Al Tunstill, William "Buster" Harris, Hut McCaghren, J.T. Carter and Carl Robertson.

Lillie Mae Butler

83, retired lunchroom worker, Town Creek

Funeral for Lillie Mae Butler was held Thursday, September 11, 2 p.m., at Sanderson Chapel United Methodist Church in Hatton with the Revs. Robert Sanderson and George Benefield officiating.

Burial was in the Providence Cemetery in Hatton with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Butler died Tuesday, September 9, 1997, at her residence.

She was born in Franklin County and was retired from Hatton High School lunchroom. She was the widow of Grady Butler.

Survivors include a son, Mike Butler of Town Creek; three daughters, Geraldine Norton and Peggy Lowery, both of Town Creek and Lorene Howard of Leoma, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Benjy Norton, Keith Norton, Wesley Norton, Anthony Lowery, Andy Armstrong, Darren Franks, Flint Gillespie Jr. and Joseph Gibson.

James "Jimmy" Kirby

32, Decatur

Funeral for James "Jimmy" Kirby, who died Tuesday, September 16, 1997, in an automobile accident in Decatur, is today (Thursday) September 18. The 2 p.m. service will be at the Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Dotson and Glenn Pankey officiating.

Burial is to be in the Flat Creek Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Kirby was born in Michigan.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Eddy Kirby; a daughter, Charity Kirby of Russellville; a stepdaughter, Marie Osborne of Decatur; a brother, Scott Kirby of Trinity; four sisters, Gloria Wade and Pat Dutton, both of Trinity, Margaret Pankey of Guntersville and Sharon Terry of Trinity; and his grandmother, Stella Teal of Albertville.

Pallbearers were Ricky Eddy, Phillip Terry, Roland Wright, Bo Dutton, Jeremey Harville and Jason Morgan.

Josephine Jones Williams

76, homemaker, Courtland

Funeral for Josephine Jones Williams is Today (Thursday), September 18, 2 p.m., at Parkway Funeral Home chapel with A.G. Simmons Sr. officiating.

Burial is to be in the Courtland City Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams died Tuesday, September 16, 1997, at National Healthcare in Moulton.

She is survived by three sons, Travis Williams and Larry Williams, both of Courtland and Rickie Williams of Lexington; four daughters, Frances Smith of Hillsboro, Betty Woodruff and Brenda Dodd, both of Moulton and Shirley Parker of Decatur; a sister, Louise Choate of Waynesboro, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons were the pallbearers.

Annie Blanch Hood

83, homemaker, Mount Hope

Annie Blanch Hood died Monday, September 15, 1997, at National Healthcare in Moulton.

The funeral was held Tuesday, September 16, 11 a.m., at Elliott Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Pearson officiating.

Burial was in the Smith Cemetery in Mount Hope.

Mrs. Hood was born in Lawrence County to Cora Lambert and Charles Posey. She was a member of Mount Hope Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, John Hood of Mount Hope; four sisters, Katie Isbell of Huntsville, Clara Hill of Killen, Bertha Britnell of Mount Hope and Johnie Dowler of Ohio; four brothers, Henry Posey of Trinity, Earl Posey of Moulton, William Posey of Town Creek and James Posey of Florence; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jimmie Stancil, Forney Alexander, Gilbert Smith, Michael Borden, J.W. Parker, Joel Dutton and Gene Gold.

Callie Lee Hice

68, homemaker, Moulton

Callie Lee Hice died Tuesday, September 16, 1997.

The funeral will be today (Thursday), September 18, 2 p.m., at Elliott Funeral Home chapel with Jackie Shelton officiating.

Burial is to be in the Harmony Cemetery.

Ms. Hice was a native of Lauderdale County and was the daughter of Mosie Aldridge and Jim Hice.

Survivors include a sister, Lillie Bell Hice of Moulton; three Brothers, J.C. Hice of Moulton, Hoover Hice and Maple Hice, both of Florence.
