Libern Edward Terry

The funeral for Libern Edward Terry was held Wednesday, November 19, 2 p.m., at Harmony Methodist Church with Brother Darrell Mosely officiating.

Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Terry died Monday, November 17, 1997, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center.

He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Terry Proctor of Moulton and Angela Terry Blankenship of Town Creek; one son, Darrell E. Terry of Town Creek; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bobby Joe Martin, Harold Terry, Buck Terry, Ricky Terry, Jimmy Don Terry and Kenneth Hanvy.

Honorary pallbearers were Lee Roy Terry and Norman Goodwin.

Ottis Euel Roy

81, retired textile worker, Trinity

Funeral for Ottis Euel Roy, who died Friday, November 14, 1997, at Huntsville Hospital, was held Sunday, November 16. The 2 p.m. service was held at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Alred officiating.

Burial was in the East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Lawrence County to Raymond and Anna Roy and was also a retired employee of Goodyear Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Ruth Roy; three sons, Marvin O. Roy of Oneonta, Joseph B. Roy of Trinity and Robert H. Roy of Decatur; two daughters, Brenda F. Tapscott of Hartselle and Glenda D. Thompson of Decatur; four sisters, Edith Smith of Toledo, Ohio and Clara Haynes, Grace Haynes and Opal McClesky, all of Trinity; two half sisters, Jonie Roy and Debra Roy; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Grandsons were the pallbearers.

Gracie K. "Bobbie" Helton

88, homemaker, Town Creek

Funeral for Gracie K. "Bobbie" Helton is to be Friday, November 21, 10 a.m., at Ellers Funeral Home in Kokomo, Ind.

Burial will be in the Albright Cemetery in Indiana.

Mrs. Helton died Sunday, November 16, 1997, at National Healthcare Center in Moulton.

She was born in Lawrence County.

Her survivors include two cousins, J.R. Knouff and Dorene Sugg.

Bobby O. Hill

47, operations manager, Moulton

Funeral for Bobby O. Hill was held Tuesday, November 18, 2 p.m., at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Shelton officiating.

Burial was in the Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mr. Hill died at his home on Sunday, November 16, 1997.

He was born in Lawrence County. Mr. Hill was employed by Brooks Lock and Key in Decatur and was a member of Berea Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Oran Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Cahela Hill; two sons, J.J. Hill and Erik Sloan Hill, both of Moulton; a daughter, Kasie Shamayne Hill of Moulton; his mother, Katie Hill of Moulton; and two brothers, Randy W. Hill and Roger D. Hill, both of Moulton.

Pallbearers were Lanier Sibley, Roger Dutton, Dewayne McKelvey, John Cross, Roger Pierce and Sandy Gillespie.

Ollie Lee Rainey

74, homemaker, Moulton

Funeral for Ollie Lee Rainey, who died at her home on Sunday, November 16, 1997, was held Tuesday, November 18. The 2 p.m. service was held at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Revs. Jamin Grubbs, Lynn Klopfenstein and Donald Scully officiating.

Burial was in the Aldridge Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Rainey was born in Lawrence County to Pelham and Linnie Johnson. She was a member of Old Liberty Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Jimmy Rainey of Moulton; a daughter, Shelby Dutton of Moulton; three sisters, Mable Hood and Lillie Hood, both of Moulton and Audrey Rainey of Decatur; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Rainey, Greg Dutton, Jerome Porter, Britt Johnson, Wyatt Hill, Dusty Dutton and Jack Foster .

George Burks

83, retired truck driver, Hillsboro

Funeral for George Burks was held Friday, November 14, 11 a.m., at Mountain Home Baptist Church with the Rev. B.L. Hale Jr. officiating.

Burial was in the Morris Chapel Cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Burks died Wednesday, November 12, 1997, at hid daughter's home in Moulton.

He was born in Lawrence County and was a member of Mountain Home Baptist Church. Mr. Burks was a member of Teamsters Local 402 and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Vernie Burks of Hillsboro; one son, J.D. Burks of Trinity; four daughters, Betty Clark of Hillsboro, Melba Way of Trinity, Martha Johnson of Moulton and Rhonda Lovett of Town Creek; two sisters, Julia Morgan of Hatton and Ruth Baccus of Double Springs; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Grandsons were the pallbearers.

Billy Dyar Cahela

56, machine operator, Moulton

Funeral for Billy Dyar Cahela, who died Tuesday, November 11, 1997, at Birmingham Baptist Medical Center-Montclair, was held Thursday, November 13. The 2 p.m. service was held at Lindsey Hall Holy Church of Christ with Charles Williams and B.L. Hale officiating.

Burial was in the Montgomery Cemetery with Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Cahela was born in Lawrence County to John Henry and Dolly Cole Cahela. He was a member of Lindsey Hall Holy Church of Christ, a machine operator for Prestolite and a member of the Lawrence County Rescue Squad.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey Cahela; one son, Chris Cahela of Moulton; two daughters, Amanda England and Betty Jane Jackson, both of Moulton; four brothers, Doyle Cahela and Henry Cahela, both of Moulton, Archie Cahela of Trinity and Arnold Cahela of Arizona; and one sister, Frances Cahela of Hillsboro.

Pallbearers were Keith Cahela, Larry Cahela, Tom Wilkerson, Freddie DeMasters, David Jones and Dennis Jackson.

William D. Locklayer

86, Haleyville

A graveside service will be held for William D. Locklayer today, (Thursday) November 20, 11 a.m., at Moulton Cemetery with Thompson and Son Funeral Home in Florence directing. Mr. Locklayer died Monday, November 17, 1997, following an extended illness.

Clarence "Tonce" Conner

84, retired carpenter, Town Creek

Funeral for Clarence "Tonce" Conner, who died Sunday, November 23, 1997, at his residence, was held Wednesday, November 26. The 2 p.m. service was held at Lawrence Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Mark Wakefield and Milton Burks officiating.

Burial was in the Moulton Memory Gardens.

Mr. Conner was born in Lawrence County. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret J. Conner; a son, Mike Conner of Town Creek; three daughters, Nell Witt of Courtland, Linda Schulte and Barbara Copeland, both of Town Creek; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Brad Conner, Glenn Terry, Clinton Owens, Corbet Potter, Wayne Schulte and Dempsey Copeland.

Velma Vest

89, homemaker, Moulton

Velma Vest died Saturday, November 22, 1997, at Burdick West Hospital in Haleyville.

A graveside service was held Sunday, November 23, 2 p.m., at Mount Olive Cemetery in Albertville with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

She was born in Marshall County and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

Survivors include six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
