FYFFE - Bernice Othell Baker, 77, died Wednesday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Travis Carr and the Rev. G.W. Reed officiating.
Burial will be in Green s Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by one son, David Drain.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Smith of Rainsville; one son, Owen Baker of Fyffe; one sister, Tressie Mitchell of Rainsville; two brothers, Ray Mitchell of Fyffe and Clyde Mitchell of Rainsville; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mildred H. Bone
BROWNSBORO - Mildred Hambrick Bone, 56, died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hurricane Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. Michael Rice officiating.
Burial will be in Bone Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include her husband, George L. Bone of Brownsboro; one daughter, Donna Bone of Brownsboro; two sons, Phillip Bone of Jackson, N.C., and Mark Johnson of Brownsboro; 10 sisters, Johnnie Gilbreath, Ollie Morgan, Mary Humphrey, Katie Ayers, Pauline Hambrick, Karen Johnson and Alma Evans, all of Huntsville, and Mattie Nance, Janie Miller and Peggy Petty, all of Nashville; three brothers, James Hambrick of Madison, John Hambrick of Huntsville and Willie Hambrick of Nashville.
Christina D. Carroll
Christina D. Carroll, 78, of Huntsville died Friday at her home. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay C. Williams of Huntsville; one son, Walter "Butch" Carroll of Huntsville; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Effie N. Davenport
ATHENS - Effie Nora Davenport, 81, of 20558 Edgewood Road died Wednesday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Green e and the Rev. Tim Driggers officiating.
Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Davenport was a member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Roberta Davenport.
Survivors include her husband, Alvis Davenport of Athens; four daughters, Alice Evans and Karen Davenport, both of Athens, and Nancy McCarthy and Linda Rankin, both of Decatur; two sons, George Davenport of Dublin, Va., and Gerald Davenport of Lilburn, Ga.; three brothers, J.C. Pirtle and Donald Pirtle, both of Athens and Homer Pirtle of Rumford, R.I.; one sister, Leona Loggins of Athens; and 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Mary L. Ferguson
ATHENS - Mary Lindsay Ferguson, 90, of 12456 Sommers Road died Wednesday in Athens. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Gooch officiating.
Burial was to be in Athens Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Ferguson was a native of Limestone County, was a homemaker, a member of Tanner United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Victor Ferguson.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary E. Black of Tanner, Betty J. King, Shirley Ball and Peggy Williamson, all of Athens; five sons, Donald Ferguson of Crestview, Fla., Dan J. Ferguson of Rogersville, Charles Ferguson, Harold Ferguson and Billy W. Ferguson, all of Athens; one sister, Mabel Draine of Tanner; and 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
Richard S. Hamilton
DECATUR - Richard Sim Hamilton, 69, died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwayne McDuff officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Masonic services.
Mr. Hamilton was a native of Morgan County, a member of Austinville United Methodist Church, past president of Dixie Youth Central League, a state football referee and scorekeeper, and was past Right Eminent Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Dot Hamilton; two daughters, Karen Hamilton and Regins Hamilton McCreery, both of Decatur; four brothers, Garrold Hamilton of Hartselle, Fred Hamilton, Raymond Hamilton and Joe Lee Hamilton, all of Decatur; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
James O. House Jr.
GUNTERSVILLE - James Ottis House Jr., 78, of 5022 Neely Ave. died Monday at a local hospital. The family will have a private service out of town Saturday.
Guntersville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Helen House; and one son, James O. House III of Birmingham.
Frank Humphrey Sr.
Frank E. Humphrey Sr., 64, of 2141 Griffith Drive died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Syler Tabernacle P.B. Church with Elder John Clay officiating.
Burial will be in Blutchers Ford Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include five daughters, Margaret Humphrey and Gwendolyn Humphrey, both of Huntsville, Barbara Parker and Gail Rodgers, both of Toney, and Brenda Humphrey of Houston, Texas; five sons, Donnie Humphrey and Clifford Humphrey, both of Huntsville, Frank E. Humphrey Jr. of Harvest, Terence Humphrey of Triana, John Humphrey of Wake Forrest, N.C., and James Sledge of Decatur; his mother, Lue Ellen Humphrey of Huntsville; three sisters, Stella Humphrey and Melinda Martin, both of Huntsville, and Josephine Prentice of Nashville; eight brothers, Eddie Humphrey, Robert E. Humphrey, Dave Humphrey, Arthur Humphrey, Robert Martin, Eddie B. Martin, Joe E. Martin and John Martin, all of Huntsville; and 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Lura M. Miller
LINEVILLE - Lura M. "Sister" Miller, 87, died Thursday at a Clay County hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lineville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Colquett and the Rev. Gerald Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Lineville City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Miller was a life-long resident of Clay County, a homemaker and a member of Lineville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter Loree Whatley; and one son, Cecil Taylor.
Survivors include her husband, L.D. Miller of Lineville; two daughters, Virginia Saxon of Huntsville and Ann Denson of Oxford; one stepdaughter, Donna Webster of Vernon; and 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Lois S. Russell
DECATUR - Lois Segars Russell, 88, of 1919 Azalea Circle S.W. died Wednesday at a Hartselle hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle with the Rev. Wayne Penn and the Rev. Glenn Smallwood officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mrs. Russell was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, a homemaker and a former resident of Hartselle.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Harvey of Decatur; two sons, James T. Russell and Byron F. Russell, both of Hartselle; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Helen L. Walton
Helen Lucy Walton, 75, of Huntsville died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Johnson, the Rev. Shelby Gurley and the Rev. Richard Walker officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Walton was a life-long resident of Madison County. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was retired after 25 years with JC Penney.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Walton of Huntsville; one son, James Randy Walton of Huntsville; one brother, Charles Locke of Fayetteville, Tenn.; and two grandsons.
Visitation will be today from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Erwin C. Wilbourne
Erwin C. Wilbourne of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Wilbourne attended the University of Alabama and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was also a member of Elks Lodge No. 1648 and Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Wilbourne of Huntsville; two nephews, Dr. Fred Nabers and Jimmy E. Nabers, both of Louisville, Miss.; and two nieces, Nan Boydstun of Baton Rouge, La., and Susan Krawulski of Rowlett, Texas.
