Donald W. Armstrong
FYFFE - Donald Wayne Armstrong, 66, died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in Painter with the Rev. Earl Mitchel and the Rev. Charles Watkins officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel of Rainsville in charge.
Mr. Armstrong was retired from the Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Sallie Ann Armstrong of Fyffe; three daughters, Janice Brown of Piedmont, Stacie Wright of Grove Oak and Barbara Thompson of Grant; two sons, James Collins of Fyffe and Jimmy Armstrong of Piedmont; one brother, Elvin Armstrong of Fyffe; and five grandchildren.

John W. Baker
BOAZ - John Wayne Baker, 49, of 600 Snellgrove Ave. died Saturday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Marshall Memorial Garden.
Survivors include his wife, Joann Baker; one son, Johnny Baker of Albertville; one stepdaughter, Kandy Smith of Boaz; two sisters, Charlotte Franklin of Arab and Betty Allison of Douglas; and one brother, Walter Baker of Crossville.

Billy Bolding
UNION GROVE - Billy Bolding, 62, of 81 Silverwood Drive died Saturday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial was to be in Oleander Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Owens of Sardis; three sisters, Edna Garrett and Rachel Lecroy, both of Union Grove, and Kathleen Pannell of Guntersville; two brothers, Garlon Couch and Bobby Bolding, both of Union Grove; and one grandchild.

Sam Bounds Jr.
DECATUR - Sam Bounds Jr., 74, died Friday at a Huntsville hospital. The graveside service was today at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Lancaster officiating.
Roselawn Funeral Home was in charge.
Mr. Bounds was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Auburn University, an Army veteran of World War II, awarded the Purple Heart, and retired civil service with the Army.
Survivors include his wife, Julia D. Bounds; three daughters, Sarah Edman of Atlanta, Mollie Barrett and Beverly Payne, both of Decatur; one son, Tim Bounds of North Carolina; and four grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Presbyterian Childrens Home or to a favorite charity.

A.V. Cole
ALBERTVILLE - A.V. Cole, 68, of 310 Cochran Road died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial was to be in Memory Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Cole was retired from BellSouth Telephone after 43 years and was a court bailiff. He was a member of the Marshall County Board of Education for 24 years and served many years as its president.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Cole; two daughters, Cathy Lampkin and Gina Hudgins, both of Albertville; two sons, Alan Cole of Albertville and Peter J. Cole of Decatur; two sisters, Allie Swords and Zadle Mitchell, both of Albertville; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

James H. Foote
James Herbert Foote, 62, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. A private service is planned with Spry Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Foote was a native of Iron Mountain, Mich., and a resident of Huntsville for the last 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Foote; two daughters, Kim Kuykendall of Huntsville and Wendy McCracken of Palm Bay, Fla.; two sons, Sgt. Michael Lee Foote of Fort Benning, Ga., and Eric James Foote of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m.

Nelma George
Nelma George, 75, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mrs. George was a member of University Baptist Church and had worked as a nurse at Huntsville Hospital for 20 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Barnett of Madison; one son, David George of Huntsville; four sisters, Roberta Beard of Decatur, Montez Moore and Jean Rusk, both of Cullman, and Wanda Ellison of Birmingham; three brothers, John Jones and Norman Jones, both of Lakeland, Fla., and M.H. Jones of Clearmont, Fla.; and two grandsons, one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Douglas Hankins
STOCKBRIDGE, GA. - Douglas Hankins, 55, of 120 Springwood Valley Road died Friday in Georgia. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Solitude Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Hankins; one daughter, Michelle Hankins of Georgia; two sons, Douglas Hankins and Daniel Hankins, both of Georgia; mother, Matilda Hankins of Texas; and one brother, Pershing J. Branham of Texas.

Robert E. Johnston
LACEYS SPRING - Robert E. Johnston, 72, died Thursday at his home. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bradley David Hall officiating.
Twickenham Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mr. Johnston was a retired aerospace engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Albertine Johnston of Laceys Spring; one son, Paul A. Johnston of Mill Valley, Calif.; two daughters, Roberta J. Mills of Huntsville and Holly D. Johnston of Cleveland; and one brother, Wayne L. Johnston Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.

Heather N. Lands
Heather Nicole Lands, 5, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James Harrell and the Rev. Kee Sloan officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Miss Lands was a native of Huntsville.
Survivors include her parents, Martha Appleton Lands and Paul "Toney" Lands of Huntsville; one brother, Patrick Lands of Huntsville; three grandparents, Jimmie and Linda Lands, both of Hazel Green, and Rhonda Appleton of Union Grove; one great-grandfather, William P. King of Guntersville.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Danny F. Lowe
Danny Floyd Lowe, 47, of Huntsville, formerly of Baxter, Tenn., died Friday in Huntsville. The funeral was today at 1 p.m. at the Baxter chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home.
Burial was in Oddfellow Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Chris Lowe and Craig Lowe; his parents, Estel and Bert Maddux Lowe; one brother, Ricky Lowe; and one sister, Kim Rogers.

Dorothy MacIlveen
Dorothy DePaul MacIlveen, 75, of Huntsville died Saturday at her home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Church of the Nativity Episcopal with the Rev. Roderic L. Murray III officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Laughlin Service Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. MacIlveen was a native of New York City and had taught French in Huntsville for 20 years. She did graduate work at the Sorbonne in Paris, was president of Alabama Francaise, was a board member of International Visitors and was a docent at Huntsville Museum of Art.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce Torrey MacIlveen; two sons, James Torrey MacIlveen of Decatur and Dr. Robert Bruce MacIlveen of Portland, Ore.; five grandsons, Jeffrey Byron MacIlveen and Christopher Correy MacIlveen, both of Huntsville, Douglas Torrey MacIlveen of Tallahassee, Alan Scot MacIlveen of Knoxville and Nickalous MacIlveen of Portland; one granddaughter, Tasha MacIlveen of Portland; and one great-grandson, Brooks Alexander MacIlveen of Madison.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Russell E. McConnell
GUNTERSVILLE - Russell E. McConnell, 71, of 7895 Alabama Highway 69 died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Guntersville Episcopal Church of the Epiphany.
Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville will be in charge.
Mr. McConnell was a veteran of World War II and a retired manager for the Betty Crocker division of General Mills.
Survivors include his wife, Karen McConnell; two daughters, Gaye Ross of Guntersville and Michelle Staten of Oneonta; five sons, Brett McConnell, David Mikolhaczyk, Richard W. Mikolhaczyk and Daniel Mikolhaczyk, all of Ohio, and Craig McConnell of Guntersville; a foster daughter, April Scott; one brother, Walter McConnell of California; and nine grandchildren.
A prayer vigil will be held at the church Wednesday at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the church building fund or Tennessee Valley Family Services.

Dorothy Onkst
Dorothy Jean Sanders Onkst, 58, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home chapel in Batesville, Miss., with the Rev. McCoy Wilbanks and the Rev. Clay Baker officiating.
Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, James Robert Onkst of Huntsville; one daughter, Cindy Keslet Dobbins of Danville; three sons, Michael Onkst of Harvest, Richard Onkst of Laceys Spring and Randy Kesler of Abbeville, Miss.; one brother, Perry Sanders of Courtland, Miss.; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

James L. Redd Sr.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - James Lee Redd Sr., 78, formerly of Huntsville died Friday at a Cookeville hospital. The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home with the Rev. Woody Adams officiating.
Entombment was in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Redd lived in Huntsville about four years in the mid-1970s and had worked at Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Parker Redd of Cookeville; one son, James Lee Redd Jr., of Ponchatoula, La.; one daughter, Margena Redd Maffett of Cookeville; one sister, Dorothy Parnell of Houma, La.; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bonnie M. Sanchez
TRINITY - Bonnie McLemore Sanchez, 55, died Sunday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Moulton Church of Christ with Hoyt Nelson and Tony Willis officiating.
Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens with Parkway Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three sons, Shane Cheatham of Madison, Wes Cheatham of Decatur and Dusty Cheatham of Trinity; three daughters, Lane C. Hagood of Trinity, Leslie C. Lawrence of Danville and Summer B. Sanchez of Trinity; and two sisters, Wanda Reed of Huntsville and Priscilla Myers of Pensacola.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Myrtis M. Waller
Myrtis M. Waller, 77, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local nursing home. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Stites Waller of Huntsville; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Ann and Lynwood Strickland of Opelika and Elaine and Dr. Richard Hamner of Huntsville; four sisters, Judy Coftin, Louise Blankeney, Cleo Garner and Voncile Grant, all of Mississippi; one brother, Bobby Maddox of Mississippi; and three grandchildren, seven nieces and five nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 307 Gates Ave. in Huntsville or to a favorite charity.

Larren D. Whitaker
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Larren Denton Whitaker, 78, died Sunday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home East with the Rev. David Harwell officiating.
Burial will be in Twickenham Memory Gardens.
Mr. Whitaker was a native of New Hope and was retired from TVA.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy E. Whitaker of Owens Cross Roads; one son, Ronald Spears of Bessemer; one daughter, Janis Centers of Owens Cross Roads; two brothers, Glenn Whitaker and Albert Zedra Whitaker, both of Huntsville; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Irene Wilbourn
GURLEY - Irene Wilbourn, 86, of 508 Old Gurley Pike died today at her home. New Hope Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.

June B. Wright
HENAGAR - June Beam Wright, 63, died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Sam Whited and the Rev. John York officiating.
Burial will be in Unity Cemetery.
Survivors include six sisters, Inez Woods, Daisy Busby and Delinda Bean, all of Rainsville, Jeanette Martin of Fyffe, Annie Pearl Hester of Valley Head and Bonnie Woods of Powell.
Visitation was to be today at 2 p.m.
