Survivors include his wife, Grance Bell of Rainsville; one daughter, Betty Miller of Rainsville; one son, Ronald Bell of Rainsville; three sisters, Clydia Hughes, Vivian Benefield and Marzelle Crowell, all of Rainsville; four brothers, Charles Bell, James Bell, Kenneth Bell and Wayne Bell, all of Rainsville; and three grandchildren.

Walter Dun
BOAZ - Walter Dunn, 82, of 2423 Cove Springs Road died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Lula Mae Dunn; two daughters, Judy Nunn and Renita Smith, both of Boaz; three sons, Elvin Dunn and Jerry Dunn, both of Boaz, and Terry Dunn of Steele; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

ARAB - Kenneth Eugene Hazelrig Jr., 31, of 114 Shoal Creek Trail died at his home Friday. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Holiness Church with the Rev. Charles Willmon officiating. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery with New Hope Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include his wife, Theresa Jane Hazelrig of Arab; one son, Scotty Wayne Hazelrig of Arab; his mother, Sarah House of Arab; his stepfather, Jim House of Arab; four sisters, Linda Cobourn and Darlene Yancy, both of Grant, and Susie Neel and Pamela Solly, both of Arab; and six brothers, Danny Burroughs of Albertville, Jackie Burroughs of Grant, Jimmy Wayne Burroughs of Florida, and Benny Hazelrig, Kenny Hazelrig and Darrel House, all of Arab.

ATHENS - Douglas Edward Holman, 51, of Children Lane died Friday at his home. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with Jackie Bowden and Roy Harbin officiating. Burial will be in Faulks Cemetery in Harvest. Survivors include his wife, Malaysia Holman of Athens; one daughter, Wendy Annell Holman of Athens; one brother, Wayne Shelton of Athens; and four sisters, Wanda Bolden of New York, Joann Brown of Decatur; Francis Holman of Harvest and Joann Butler of Huntsville.

D. Holman-Thompson
MADISON - Desmarie Denise Holman-Thompson, infant daughter of Angela M. Holman and Gary Thompson, both of Madison, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The graveside service was Saturday at noon at Royal Cemetery in Madison with the Rev. George Franklin Sr. officiating. Royal Funeral Home was in charge of burial.

Rodney Hopping
BELMONT, Mich. - Rodney Hopping, 67, of Belmont died Thursday at an Ann Arbor, Mich., hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at First Assembly of God Prayer Chapel in Grand Rapids, Mich., with Pastor Jeff Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Plainfield Township Cemetery with Pederson Funeral Home of Rockford, Mich., in charge. Mr. Hopping was a native of Paint Rock. He was also a Korean War veteran and a member of First Assembly of God Church, Comstock Park American Legion Post No. 47 and VFW Post No. 3946. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Hopping. Survivors include his wife, Doris Hopping of Belmont; three sons, Gregory A. Hopping of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Thomas L. Hopping and Timothy B. Hopping, both of Rockford, Mich.; one daughter, Rebecca Davis of Grand Rapids; one brother, James Hopping of Rochester, N.H.; and 10 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Hattie Kirkpatrick
DALTON, Ga. - Hattie Kirkpatrick, 93, died Friday at a Dalton hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Trenton Baptist Church in Trenton with the Rev. Bill Elsberry and the Rev. Frank Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Trenton Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a native of Jackson County and was retired as a teacher with the Jackson County school system. She lived in Dalton 22 years. Survivors include one son, Jimmy C. Kirkpatrick of Chatsworth, Ga.; three grandchildren, James Kirkpatrick of Ringgold, Ga., Ann Silvers of Chatsworth and Erin Kirkpatrick, both of Spring Place, Ga.; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. James E. Lockhart Deacon James E. Lockhart, 96, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Pine Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Earla S. Lockhart officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include one son, Thurman Lockhart of Warrensville, Ohio; two daughters, Earla S. Lockhart and Hattie Bell, both of Huntsville; and nine grandchildren. His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral. Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Georgia C. McBride
SCOTTSBORO - Georgia C. McBride, 80, of 50 Horseshoe Bend Road died Friday at a Scottsboro hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery. Survivors include one daughter, Charlene Pace of Scottsboro; four sons, Jerry McBride, Johnny McBride, Jimmy McBride and Joe McBride, all of Scottsboro; three sisters, June Troup and Earlene Sanders, both of Grant, and Ruth Gayle of Guntersville; one brother, Dr. Jean Gayle of Warrior; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Henry B. McClendon
BOAZ - Henry Burton McClendon, 79, of 531 North Main St. died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz. Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery in Albertville. Survivors include his wife, Jewel McClendon; two daughters, Jane Roach of Kenya and Margaret Belew of Boaz; one son, William B. "Bill McClendon of Huntsville; one sister, Ershal Hedricks of Albertville; and six grandchildren.

Hazel Morrow
Hazel Morrow, 98, of Huntsville died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Betts and the Rev. John Rutland officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Morrow was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. She was a retired civil servant and had lived in Huntsville since 1965. Survivors include one son, Harold William Morrow of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one grandson, Wayne Morrow of California; one daughter-in-law, Avice J. Morrow of Huntsville; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church or to a favorite charity.

Ingeborg H. Paul
Ingeborg Hertha Paul, 83, of Huntsville died September 26 at her home. A memorial service will be Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church with Pastor W. Vernon Luckey Jr. officiating. Valhalla Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Paul was a professional photographer, an amateur china painter and a wildflower and garden enthusiast. In collaboration with other wildflower enthusiasts, she published "Wildflowers in North Alabama," whose proceeds help support Huntsville/Madison County Botanical Garden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans G. Paul, a member of Dr. Wernher von Brauns original rocket team. Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Paul of Atlanta; one son, Hans Paul of Birmingham; two brothers, Kurt Rahn of Curitiba, Brazil, and Eberhard Rahn of Berlin, Germany; and one granddaughter. Memorial donations may be made to the Inge Paul Memorial Fund at Huntsville/Madison County Botanical Garden, 4747 Bob Wallace Ave., Huntsville, 35805.

Walter Rice
Emmett Walter Rice, 75, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Ray White officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens. Mr. Rice was a World War II veteran and had received the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Rice of Huntsville; one son, Boyd A. Rice of Huntsville; three brothers, Albert Rice of Sumpter, Ore., Everett Rice of Fort Gratiot, Mich., and Joseph Rice of Kemp, Texas; one sister, Evelyn Adams of Hazel Green ; and two granddaughters. Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

ATHENS - Franklin Deloney Terry, 67, of Cox Road died Friday at a local hospital. A graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Clements Baptist Church with Tim Anderson and Dwight Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Wallace Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home of Athens in charge. Mr. Terry was a native of Morgan County, a member of Madison Street Baptist Church, a retired carpenter and a Merchant Marines veteran. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Terry of Athens; two daughters, Wanda Tucker and Judy Culps, both of Athens; one son, Gene Terry of Athens; one brother, N.B. Terry of Athens; and 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

HILLSBORO - Larry Dale Terry, 57, died Wednesday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral was Saturday at Parkway Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Mitchell Smith and the Rev. Ted Agee officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Mr. Terry was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church, Alabama Road Builders Association, Master Mason Courtland Lodge No. 37 and Shriner of Huntsville Cahaba Temple. Survivors include two sons, Rodney D. Terry and Larry Craig Terry, both of Hillsboro; his mother, Mary D. Bass Terry of Hillsboro; two brothers, Donald W. OWENS CROSS ROADS - Charles Leroy Vann, 74, of 171 Owens Road died Saturday at his home. The graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Richard Craft officiating. New Hope Funeral Home will be in charge of burial. Survivors include one sister, Betty Fast of Owens Cross Roads; and several nieces and nephews. ROSSVILLE, Ga. - The Rev. Obbon Leonard Baldwin, 84, died Saturday at a Georgia hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Freeman Chapel in Albertville with the Rev. Berlin Steeples officiating.
Burial will be in Freeman Chapel Cemetery with Lane Funeral Home of Rossville in charge.
Mr. Baldwin was a native of Albertville and had lived in the Rossville area more than 30 years. He was also a Baptist minister for 63 years in the area. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Bell Baldwin; and two sons, Obbon Leonard Baldwin Jr. and Franklin Delayno Baldwin.
Survivors include four daughters, Lillie Bell Baldwin of Chickamauga, Ga., Sarah Nell Bowen of Chatsworth, Ga., Kathleen Baldwin of Dallas, Texas, and Frances B. Harp of Chattanooga, Tenn.; four sons, Charles Keith Baldwin of Huntsville, Coy Lee Baldwin of Rossville, Ga., Douglas Max Baldwin of Rossville and Wayne W. Baldwin of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; two sisters, Vada Williams of Henagar and Viola Baldwin of Fort Oglethorpe; three brothers, James F. Baldwin of Rossville, Buford Baldwin of Ringgold, Ga., and Burlon Dallas Baldwin of Guntersville; and 27 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Visitation will be all day today at the funeral home.

Decie Tucker Beshears, 93, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Bro. Mike Rogers officiating.

Mrs. Beshears was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Beshears.
Survivors include one daughter, Gladys Lee Poore of Huntsville; four sisters, Juanita Ortner of Tullahoma, Tenn., Hazelteen Hickson and Lou Emma Gautney, both of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Lydia Thrasher of May, Texas; three brothers, Walter O. Mrs. Burwell was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, First United Methodist Church, Blossomwood Garden Club and Huntsville Study Club.
Survivors include two sons, Dudley Burwell and Jackson Burwell, both of Huntsville; one brother, Fred Parker of Pensacola, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Edward C. Hahn Jr., 80, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Hahn was a World War II veteran who served in the Aleutian Island Campaign.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth L. Hahn of Huntsville; one son, Edward C. Hahn III of Huntsville; and one brother, Dr. Roland Hahn of Warren, Ohio.

Mrs. Haught was a member of First Methodist Church in Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald E. Haught.

Mr. Howard was a native of Madison County, had worked at Food World and attended the University of North Alabama.

HAZEL GREEN - Ada Margaret Jean of 15643 U.S. 231 died Saturday at her home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Long officiating.

Mrs. Jean was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church.

Burial will be in the adjoining Cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in charge.

ATHENS - Butch Dewayne McWhirter, 37, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens.
Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery.
Mr. McWirter was a native of Limestone County, a member of Mays Memorial Baptist Church and a mechanic.
Survivors include his parents, Kenneth and Rocine McWhirter of Athens; two daughters, Brooke McWhirter and Keri McWhirter, both of Athens; two sisters, Sherry Rood of Florence and Tammy Reyer of Athens; one grandmother, Laverne McWhirter of Athens; and one grandson and nieces and nephews.

DECHERD, Tenn. - Carl Allen Mead of 100 Shelley St. died Sunday at a Winchester, Tenn., hospital. The funeral was to be today at 3 p.m. at Prospect Cemetery with the Rev. Merle Mead officiating.

Mr. Mead was a native of St. Petersburg, Fla., and a member of Decherd Church of the Nazarene. He was an Army and an Air Force veteran.

Mrs. Newman was a native of Morgan County and a member of East Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Harry Newman of Hartselle; one brother, Rufus ''Buddy Summerford of Hartselle; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

MADISON - Karen Norman, 45, of 112 Sunset Trail died Sunday at a local hospital. Madison Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Norman of Madison; one son, Matthew Norman of Madison; three daughters, Katie Norman, Laura Norman and Holly Norman, all of Madison; her mother, Kay Holland of Madison; two sisters, Lisa Holland of Huntsville and Barbara Kahalekai of Madison; and one brother, David Hand of Huntsville.

Velna F. Owens
ATHENS - Velna Forest Owens, 93, of Shaw Road died Sunday at an Athens nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Riddles Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryan McIntyre and the Rev. Bill Graham officiating.
Burial will be in Ripley Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Owens was a member of Riddles Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Norton of Athens; two sisters, Lorean Roberts of Athens and Jo Rachel McLemore of Foley; and one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

GRIFFIN, Ga. - Ella Jenkins Phillips, 85, formerly of Madison County died Sunday at a Georgia nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel in Hazel Green with the Rev. Ricky Holman and the Rev. Lloyd Pearson officiating.
Burial will be in Charity Cemetery.
Mrs. Phillips was a member of Stockbridge Holiness Church for more than 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Bernard Phillips; one daughter, Mary Jane Phillips; and one son, Harold Phillips.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Holman of New Market and Gennell Mills of Griffin, Ga.; three sons, Hubert Phillips of Conyers, Ga., Billy Phillips of Jackson, Ga., and Thomas Phillips of Covingon, Ga.; and 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

CROSSVILLE - Darren Jeffery Randolph, 31, of 1931 Alabama 68 died Friday in Crossville. The funeral was to be today at 3 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.

Leroy Edward Scott, 76, of Huntsville, died Sunday at a local veterans home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur with the Rev. Roger Cooper officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Mr. Scott was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include four daughters, Chris Sandlin of Decatur, Margaret Kelley, Paulette Magnum and Rita Craft, all of Decatur; one son, Eddie Self of Huntsville; and 13 grandchildren.

Alta Self
HARTSELLE - Alta Mae Hopper Self, 63, died Saturday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Guy Hunt officiating.
Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Self was a champion bowler. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tamara Lynn Self.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Wilburn Self; one daughter, Violet Juanita Self Helms of Hartselle; two brothers, Willard Hopper and J.L. Hopper, both of Eva; three sisters, Christine Leeth of Eva, Wilda Ellenburg and Patsy Walden, both of Hartselle; and four grandchildren.

Daniel C. Stone
RAINSVILLE - Daniel Crett Stone, 78, died Saturday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Hammonds and the Rev. Clinton Giraham officiating.
Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Yancy Stone of Rainsville; three daughters, Martha Weaver and Priscilla Underwood, both of Henagar, and L. Wanda Sparks of Rainsville; one stepdaughter, Claudine Wallace of Rainsville; one son, Ladon "Donnie" Stone of Sylvania; two stepsons, Kenneth W. Yancy of New York and Larry D. Yancy of Rainsville; three sisters, Edith Beard of Besserman, Ozenia Ledford of Rainsville and Verna Bell of Sylvania; one brother, D.L. Stone of Lakeland, Fla.; and 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Annie J. White
Annie J. White, 86, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Carmel M.B. Church in Jupiter, Fla., with the Rev. Reuben Jackson officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Memorial Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Alfred Pleasure and Alonzo Buggs Jr., both of Huntsville, and James W. McDonald of Albany, N.Y.; and six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
