ATHENS - Elsie Mae Black, 70, of Hobbs Street died Monday at her home. The funeral was today at 9 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Carl Witty and Bobby Hall officiating.
Burial was in Athens City Cemetery.
Miss Black was a native of Limestone County, a member of Ephesus Church of Christ and was retired from A&P food store.
Survivors include three sisters, Marie Usery, Margaret Bailey and Gladys Davidson, all of Athens; two brothers, Amos Black of Athens and Archie Black of Talladega; and several nieces and nephews.
Sallie M. Cooper
Sallie Mae Cooper of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Wagner officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Cooper was retired as a procurements clerk in the science and engineering directorate at NASA.
Survivors include her husband, John J. Cooper of Huntsville; two daughters, Jeanne Cambra of Houston and Pat Weber of Madison; two sons, John H. Cooper of Birmingham and Peter W. Cooper of Huntsville; one brother, Guy Bigelow of Boulder, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Josephs Catholic Church building fund.
Mary E. Curtis
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Mary Evelyn Curtis, 90, of 4081 Thornton-Taylor Parkway died Monday. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Booneville Cemetery with the Rev. Don Gatlin officiating.
Mrs. Curtis was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., and a member of the Primitive Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Campbell; her second husband, Virgil Curtis; and one son, Kenneth Campbell.
Survivors include six grandchildren, Ray Campbell, Melba Davis, Mary Ann Campbell and James Campbell all of Fayetteville, Darlene George of Flintville and Phillip Campbell of Gurley; and six great-grandchildren.
Leslie Dearing
RAINSVILLE - Leslie Dearing, 75, died Tuesday at a Fort Payne hospital. A graveside service was today at noon at Little Vine Cemetery in Bremen, Ga.
Survivors include one sister, Faye Griffin of Bowden, Ga.; one brother, Steve Dearing of Bremen; and several nieces and nephews.
Albert R. Evans
Albert Raymond "Ray" Evans, 61, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Capt. Lane Stockeland.
Mr. Evans was a native of Chester, Mo.. He ived in Huntsville 23 years and was retired from the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Evans of Huntsville; one son, Chris Evans of Harvest; one daughter, Kay Evans of Nashville; and one stepson, three stepdaughters, three brothers, and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Russell M. Houston
DAWSON - Russell Max Houston, 66, died Monday. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Ralph Johnson and Ray Kittle officiating.
Burial will be in Lusk Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Dawson was a retired farmer and a member of Lusk Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Helen Oyler and Sue Blackwell, both of Fort Payne, and Sybil Banks of Dawson; and one brother, Charles "Muscles" Houston of Dawson.
Ricco D. Johnson
HOllYWOOD - Ricco D. Johnson, 22, of Hollywood, died Monday at a Chattanooga hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rudder Funeral Home with the Revs. Curtis Teague and James Holcomb officiating.
Burial will be in Mountainview Cemetery in Sherwood, Tenn.
Mr. Johnson, a native of Bridgeport, was a member of the Henagar Church of God and an employee of Shaw Industries in Stevenson.
Survivors include his wife, Belinda Willmon Johnson; one son, Matthew Wayne Johnson of Hollywood; his parents, Boyd Duane and Marilyn Adkins of Hollywood; his father, Raymond Earl Pendergrass of Sherwood; one sister, Charlene Pendergrass of Bridgeport; one brother, Ray Pendergrass of Brideport; and his grandparents, Sarah Johnson and Lula Bell Pendergrass, both of Stevenson, and Walter B. and Billie Adkins of Hollywood.
Visitation was to be today until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Rosetta C. Jordan
Rosetta Clark Jordan of 2301 Shady Lane died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Progressive Union M.B. Church with Dr. Wayne Snodgrass officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include her husband, Earl B. Jordan of Huntsville; two daughters, Theresa C. Waller and Marcella Chunn, both of Huntsville; two stepsons, Terry Jordan and Danny Jordan, both of Huntsville; one sister, Louise L. Roberts of Huntsville; and eight grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Ralph Knight
HALEYVILLE - Ralph "Pete" Jackson Knight, 68, died Tuesday at a local veterans home. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home chapel in Haleyville with Bro. Terrell Bragwell officiating.
Burial will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Knight was a retired conductor at Illinois Central-Gulf Railroad, a member of the American Legion and the United Transportation Union and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vernie Southern Knight.
Survivors include three sons, Donald Ray "Donnie" Knight of Clinton, Tenn., Allen Lance "Bo" Knight of Haleyville and Wayne "Tommy" Knight of Huntsville; one daughter, Tonya Kelli Calvo of Florence; one brother, Morris A. "Whiz" Knight of Haleyville; one sister, Mildred Alladee Ford of Rainsville; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

KENT, Wash. - Ruth McKey, 68, formerly of Madison, died Saturday. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherry L. McCarley of Kent, formerly of Madison; three sisters, Sarah L. Hays of Port Naches, Texas, Mary L. Lloyd of Waterloo, Iowa, and June Hartness of Coral Gables, Fla.; two brothers, Cecil Bryan of Ferndale, N.Y., and Wendel Bryan of Brookshire, Texas; and two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Frank Oden
Frank "Uncle Frank" Oden, 99, of Huntsville died Saturday. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at First Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Julius R. Scruggs officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one brother, William Pittman of Seattle, Wash.; and five nieces and two nephews.
His body will be at the church one hour before funeral.
Visitation will be today from 6:30 to 7:30 at the funeral home.
Edgar E. Patterson
Edgar E. "Pat" Patterson, 76, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in Civitan Cemetery in Rogersville.
Mr. Patterson was a member of Rogersville Masonic Lodge and Cahaba Shrine Temple in Huntsville.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Patterson of Huntsville; one son, Butch Patterson of Huntsville; one daughter, Patsy Patterson Gay of Flat Rock, N.C.; eight sisters, Glenne Parker, Maxine Ketchem, Helen Teague, Nancy Eldridge, Wilma Odem, Katie Pierce, Mary Jane Bedwell and Betty Cowan; one brother, Bob Patterson; and four grandchildren.

Patricia Reveal
BELLVILLE, Texas - Patricia Leome Lester Reveal, 57, formerly of Dutton, died Friday in San Antonio, Texas. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Haynes officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in charge.
Mrs. Reveal was a native of Jackson County and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Reveal of Bellville; one daughter, Kathy Ratvay of Memphis, Tenn.; one son, Ronnie Keith Reveal of Austin, Texas; one stepdaughter, Debbie Bremer of Texas; her parents, Clifford and Hazel Lester of Dutton; two sisters, Margaret Stinson of Dutton and Karen Bowell of Middleburg, Fla.; three brothers, John Lester of Dutton, Wannie Lester of Alexis, N.C., and Charles Lester of Moundville; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

William A. Savage
William Allen Savage, 77, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Bishop Malcom Ottis officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Savage had lived in Huntsville for 38 years. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his wife, Lillias C. Savage; two daughters, Cathie Lee Harris of Kent, Wash., and Debra Sue Sheppard of Centralia, Wash.; two sons, Dennis Allen Savage of Boston and Ray Savage of Midway, Utah; one sister, Jennie Davies of San Francisco; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

ARAB - Mattie Lou Simmons, 74, died Tuesday in a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Laceys Spring.
Survivors include her husband, Theo Simmons; one daughter, Ann Marable of Florida; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Gene Smith
HARVEST - Gene Smith, 54, of 107 Springside Path died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wall Highway Baptist Church with the Rev. Sonny Kirk officiating.
Burial will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Richardson Chapel Cemetery in Lexington with Madison Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Smith of Harvest; four sons, Doug Smith and Michael Smith, both of Florence, Dale Kilgore of Nashville and Tommy Bates of Huntsville; one daughter, Lorri Crumpton of Huntsville; his mother, Lorene Smith of Green hill; four sisters, Linda Green of Chattanooga, Della Hughes of Peoria, Ill., Dianne Fisher of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Lottie Williamson of Misawaka, Ind.; two brothers, Doyle Smith of Green hill and Gaylon Smith of Clarksville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.

ATHENS - Laura Bell Truett, 87, of 611 West Market St. died Monday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Brother Jack Zimmer officiating.
Burial was to be in Poplar Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Truett as a member of Green brier Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Truett.
Survivors include one daughter, Carlene Truett Walters of Decatur; one son, Walter Jackson ''Jackie Truett of Athens; four sisters, Lela Boyd, Lula Burgess, Ora Lee Penley and Bitha Burchell, all of Athens; one brother, Charlie Posey of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.
Della M. Willis
MADISON - Della M. Willis, 68, of 225 Chesapeake Blvd. died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home in Princeton, Ky.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton with Madison Chapel Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Willis of Madison and Susan Schmidt of Paducah, Ky.; one brother, Charles Rorer of Tennessee; and one grandson.
