Johnson Beasley Jr.
Johnson Beasley Jr., 60, of 6213 Valley Park Drive died Tuesday at home. The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Blackburn Chapel C.P. Church with the Rev. McKinley Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Beasley was a member of Blackburn Chapel C.P. Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Beasley of Huntsville; four daughters, Margot Beasley Brackett, Carlotta E. Beasley and Liana K. Beasley, all of Huntsville, and Alicia Rondeau of Detroit; three sons, John Earl Miller of Chapel Hill, N.C., Johnson Beasley III of Canton, Ohio, and Lance K. Beasley of Akron, Ohio; his father, Johnson Beasley Sr., of Huntsville; two sisters, Radiyah El-Fil and Margo De Ramus, both of Detroit; one brother, Kevin Rodney Beasley of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Kenneth E. Cantrell
Kenneth E. Cantrell, 67, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Bill Ivey officiating.
Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
Mr. Cantrell was a native of Madison County and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was also an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include one son, Mark Cantrell of New Market; one sister, Beatrice Gold of Huntsville; one brother, William Cantrell Jr. of New Market; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Tom Dozier Sr.
Tom Dozier Sr., 91, of Huntsville died Friday at home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home with Ron Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Dozier was a member of Lincoln Church of Christ and the Civitan Club. He was also a member of the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce and the American Bowling Congress. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Dozier.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara D. Wilson of State College, Pa.; one son, Tom Dozier Jr. of Huntsville; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ella Elliott
WOODVILLE - Ella Elliott, 86, died Friday at a Jackson County hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Trice Cemetery.
Scottsboro Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mrs. Elliott was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Elliott; and one daughter, Mary Sue Trice.
Survivors include one sister, Zella Campbell of Elora, Tenn.; threegrandchildren, Terry Trice and Mark Trice, both of Woodville, and Gail Guthrie of Princeton; and two great-grandchildren and one nephew.

Myrtle L. Glover
Myrtle Louise Glover, 82, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Stone officiating.
Burial will be in Neals Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Glover was a lifelong resident of Madison County and a member of Big Cove Holiness Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta Layne of Owens Cross Roads and Helda Powell of Huntsville; one son, Bobby Glover of Newport News, Va.; one brother, Ezell Pinkerton of Meridianville; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Geneva O. Harding
Geneva Opal Harding, 69, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Howard E. Lafevor officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Harding was a native of Jackson County and lived in Huntsville since 1948. She was a retired nurse and was preceded in death by one son, Charles Harding.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Mathais of Huntsville; one son, James Harding of Huntsville; six sisters, Virginia Farmer of Chattanooga, Jeanette Hardin, Ann Lemaster and Viola Blancett, all of Scottsboro, Ruby Buckner of Pleasant Grove and Sharon Duckworth of Madison; one brother, Clarence Sharp Jr. of Scottsboro; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Brue S. Naugher
ARDMORE, Tenn. - Brue Seal Naugher, 69, of 30411 Sims St. died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at noon at Royal Funeral Home with the Rev. Theodis Acklin officiating.
Burial will be in St. Ruth Cemetery in Hazel Green with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Woods of Ardmore, Tenn., and Evon Hurt of Harvest; seven sisters, Mildred Everson, Geraldine Pruitt, Arnetta Grays and Irene Sanderson, all of Huntsville, Sophia Watts of Birmingham, Pauline Stinson of Youngstown, Ohio, and Gladys Corine Saffell of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, Harry Conely Jr. and Robert Conely, both of Huntsville; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Velma C. Norwood
Velma Catherine Norwood, 88, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Cullman Memorial Gardens with Spry Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Norwood was a native of Lawrence County and had moved to Huntsville in 1988. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Norwood.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary L. Ward of Huntsville; two sons, Grady Griffin of Cullman and W.R. Norwood of Charlotte, N.C.; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home.

Minerva Parker
Minerva J. Nance Parker, 88, of 202 Victory Lane died Wednesday at home. The funeral will be Sunday at noon at Syler Tabernacle P.B. Church with the Rev. Daniel Richardson officiating.
Burial will be in St. Ruth Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three daughters, Gloria P. Bell of Huntsville, Rose Evelyn McWhite of Toney and Alberta P. Marshall of Augusta, Ga.; three sons, Melvin Parker and Garnell Parker, both of Huntsville, and Cleveland H. Parker of Toney; two sisters, Dot N. Verge of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Ada M. Ford of Birmingham; and 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Edith G. Rousseau
Edith Gentle Rousseau, 70, of Huntsville died Thursday at home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:15 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Aubrey Pockrus officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Rousseau was a native of Jackson County, but spent most her life in Madison County. She was a member of Third Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James H. Rousseau of Huntsville; one daughter, Alice Eldridge of Huntsville; one son, Jimmy H. Rousseau of Savannah, Ga.; one sister, Dovie Giles of Chattanooga; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arlen M. Sanders
FLAT ROCK - Arlen M. Sanders, 86, died Wednesday at a Scottsboro hospital. The funeral will be today at 10 a.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with Rodney Hammonds officiating.
Burial will be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood.
Survivors include his wife, Betty R. Sanders; one daughter, Janie Sanders of Flat Rock; four sons, James Sanders of Chattanooga and Donald Sanders, David Sanders and Jerry Sanders, all of Florida; three stepdaughters, Robbie Overby and Sandra Lettice, both of Flat Rock, and Betty Thomas of Scottsboro; one sister, Lillie Floyd of Florida; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Verma B. Sewell
Verma B. Sewell, 82, of Huntsville died Friday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Spry Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mrs. Sewell was a native of Section, but had lived in Huntsville since 1945. She was retired from the U.S. Army Missile Command.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Sewell Jones of Bellevue, Wash.; one sister, Ernestine Sims of Jacksonville; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elton Smith
ARAB - Elton Smith, 81, died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Eddy Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Gober Funeral Home of Arab in charge.
Survivors include one daughter, Dean Norris of Arab; three sons, Donald Smith, Jerry Smith and Wendell Smith, all of Arab; two sisters, Maude Pruett of Union Grove and Merle Tidmore of Arab; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Marshall County.

Celia Trawick
MONTEVALLO - Celia Kathrine Gray Trawick, 44, of 268 Kiowa St. died Thursday in a Birmingham hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery in Guntersville.
Survivors include four daughters, Liz Losole of Hoover, Missy Bryan of Jasper and Stephanie Lamb and Leann Lamb, both of Montevallo; one son, Jeff Trawick of North Carolina; one brother, Gary Gray of Guntersville; and one grandchild.

Floyd E. Walker
RAINSVILLE - Floyd E. Walker, 57, died Thursday at a DeKalb County hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at High Point Church with Brother Larry Haynes officiating.
Burial will be in New Home Cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in charge.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by one son, Travis Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Walker; one stepdaughter, Lisa Walker of Sylvania; one son, Floyd Jess Walker of Sylvania; three sisters, Lynda Cook and Faye Garmany, both of Sylvania, and Frances Albright of Rainsville; and three grandchildren.

Robert D. Word Sr.
SCOTTSBORO - Robert D. Word Sr., 87, died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Scottsboro.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro with Rudder Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Word had been an operator of motion picture theaters since 1936 and he was president of Word Popcorn Co. until it was sold in 1977. He was the charter president of the Scottsboro Lions Club in 1938 and held several offices in the Lions Club at the local, state and district levels. Mr. Word was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Scottsboro. He was also active in the United Way, the Red Cross and Boy Scouts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Kennamer Word.
Survivors include one son, Robert D. Word Jr. of Scottsboro; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
