Vernay C. Alexander
ARAB - Vernay C. Alexander, 74, died Saturday at a Cullman hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include four stepdaughters, Sarah White, Sue McElroy, Ann Jemminson and Tretha P. Goodwin; two stepsons, J.E. Alexander and Billy W. Alexander; and one sister, Maxine Absher of Arab.

Forestine A. Arnold
STEVENSON - Forestine Allison Arnold, 66, died Friday at a Chattanooga hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Rev. Howard McCallie officiating.
Burial will be in Allen Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Pirkle of Birmingham, Cathy Moskot of Baton Rouge, La., and Paula Dyer of Piedmont; three sisters, Frances Stevens of Sherwood, Tenn., and Ruth Beavers and Betty Roach, both of Stevenson; and four grandchildren.

Linda C. Bailey
FLAT ROCK - Linda Christina Bailey, 51, died Friday at a Scottsboro hospital. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Dan Kirkpatrick officiating.
Burial will be in Beulahs Cemetery in Cartersville.
Survivors include her husband, Violen Bailey; two daughters, Donna Lynn Bowman of Ider and Christi Ann Stanley of Flat Rock; one son, Timothy Kevin Bailey of Flat Rock; her mother, Margaret Meli of Stockton, Utah; one brother, Nando Meli of Toole, Utah; and four grandchildren.

Pamela N. Barnes
AUSTELL, GA. - Pamela Nicole Barnes, infant daughter of Ricky and Pam Barnes, died Wednesday in Georgia. A graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery with Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.

Henry W. Burroughs
Henry Wallace Burroughs, 67, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Ed J. Deel and John Burroughs officiating.
Burial will be in Wesleys Chapel Cemetery in Limestone County.
Mr. Burroughs was a lifelong resident of Madison County and a member of Huntsville Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris L. Burroughs.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Ann Burroughs of Huntsville; two sons, Billy Ray Burroughs of Athens and Billy Wayne Burroughs of Rome, Ga.; one sister, Elizabeth Woods of Huntsville; two brothers, Leonard Burroughs of Huntsville and John Wayne Burroughs of Madison; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m.

Louise D. Carey
Mrs. Louise Dempsey Carey, 91, of Huntsville died Friday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church with Dr. Henry Pope and the Rev. Michael T. Carey officiating.
Burial will be in Lynnhurst Cemetery in Knoxville, Tenn.
Mrs. Carey was born and raised in Knoxville, Tenn. She had lived in Huntsville since 1994.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William T. Carey Sr., and one son, George Garner Carey.
Survivors include one son, William Ted Carey of Huntsville; three sisters, Mildred Jones of Springfield, Tenn., Frances Andes of Knoxville, Elizabeth Planck of Houston; and six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Louise Carey Memorial Fund, Faith Presbyterian Church, 5003 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville 35802 or to the American Lung Association.

Herbert F. Collins
RAINSVILLE - Herbert F. ''Freddie Collins, 37, died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Tyler officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
Survivors include his mother, Roxie Knight Collins of Rainsville; two sisters, Deborah Henderson of Rainsville and Dianne Ashmore of Scottsboro; two brothers, Timothy Collins of West Richland, Wash., and Terry Collins of Scottsboro; one half-sister, Marie Hammock of Georgia; and one half-brother, Mac Collins of Georgia.

Gene O. Dennis
MADISON - Gene Owen Dennis, 64, died Thursday at his home. The memorial service will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Mr. Dennis was a native of Chilton County and a resident of Madison for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Nadejda P. Lioubomoudrov of Madison; one son, Stanislav Lioubomoudrov of Madison; and one sister, Patricia Stephens of Huntsville.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Carolyn T. Early
CINCINNATI, Ohio - Carolyn Tresea Early, 45, died Tuesday in Cincinnati. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at New Hope M.B. Church in Hollywood, Ala., with the Rev. William R. Tibbs officiating.
Burial will be in Old Baptist Cemetery with Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro in charge.
Mrs. Early was a retired printer.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas Early; one daughter, Tatrina Rochelle Early of Cincinnati; her parents, Lonzy and Susie Grayson of Hollywood; and one grandchild.

Nicholas Hammond
Nicholas Maximillian Hammond, 3 weeks, of Huntsville died Friday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Sherry Travis officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Survivors include his parents, Simon and Rebecca Hammond of Huntsville; his maternal grandparents, Leon and Betty Lietch of Huntsville; his paternal grandparents, Colin and Judie Hammond; and two aunts, three uncles and 11 cousins.
Visitation will be Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Childrens Hospital at 1600 6th Ave. in Birmingham.

Royce R. Kelly
Royce Rowley Kelly, 90, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Terrell Boyd and John Pritchett III and Dr. Walter Nunn officiating.
Burial will be in Rice Cemetery.
Mr. Kelly was a native of Leedy, Okla., and a resident of Madison since 1960. He retired from the civil service and was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn F. Kelly of Huntsville; one daughter, Kathryn Edwards of New Market; three sons, Michael Kelly of Savannah, Mo., Dennis Kelly of St. Joseph, Mo., and Roger Dale Drake of Harvest; one sister, Lova Smith of Marble Falls, Texas; and eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elmer E. Kolle
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Elmer Eugene Kolle, 65, of 315 North 23rd St. died Thursday at a Louisville hospital. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Benny Berry officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Ala.
Mr. Kolle was a native of Limestone County. He was a cabinet maker and a member of the Assembly of God of Louisville.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Barnes Kolle of Louisville; one daughter, Gail Billings of Hazel Green ; two sons, Dwight Kolle of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Billy Kolle of Hazel Green ; one stepson, Barry Whitt of Pulaski, Tenn.; three sisters, Tula Rigsby and Ozell Bradford, both of Louisville, and Doris Sledge Burgess of Taft, Tenn.; one brother, Alvie Kolle of Taft; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Suprena Preston
MADISON - Suprena Preston, 28, died Thursday at her home. The funeral will Monday at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Ed Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew Kelly and Tyler McCarley, both of Madison; one brother, Jamye Preston of Huntsville; two sisters, Theresa Preston and Twila Miller, both of Huntsville; and one niece.
Memorials may be made to Andrew and Tyler McCarley Education Fund, c/o SouthTrust Bank, P.O. Box 267, Huntsville 35804.

Glen D. Richard
BOAZ - Glen Dale Richard, 64, of 522 Leeth Gap Road died Saturday at a Gadsden hospital. A graveside service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Whitesboro Cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Boaz in charge.
Survivors include his mother, Creola Richard of Attalla; and five sisters, Earline Smith of Albertville, Wylodene Whitten and Marilyn Carroll, both of Boaz, Illa Stephenson of Gadsden and Carolyn Humphrey of Attalla.

Ruby J. Sims
WOODVILLE - Ruby Jo Sims, 65, died Friday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Venable officiating.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, John J. Sims; four sons, Gary Sims, Randy Sims and Jerry Sims, all of Woodville, and Donald Sims of New Hope; an adopted son, Ricky Womack of Woodville; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lena M. Southerland
MADISON - Lena Maude Southerland, 85, died Saturday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Munford Funeral Home in Munford, Tenn., with the Rev. Tim McCord officiating.
Burial will be in Helen Crigger Cemetery in Munford with Spry Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Southerland was a native of Tennessee and lived in Memphis before moving Huntsville 10 years ago. She was a member of Oak Park M.B. Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce S. Gean of Huntsville; one son, Robert Sigler of Wilmer; one sister, Lucille Lantrip of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Munford Funeral Home.

Ethel M. Trowse
GLENDALE, Calif. - Ethel M. Trowse died Tuesday at a Glendale nursing home. A private memorial service will be held later.
She was cremated and buried at sea in the Pacific Ocean off the Southern California coast near Santa Barbara.
Mrs. Trowse was born in Derby, England, and had lived in nearby Borrowash until 1958. She emigrated to the United States and settled in Glendale in 1959. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Trowse.
Survivors include one daughter, Julia Wentworth of Glendale; one son, Michael Trowse of Huntsville; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetic Association or American Cancer Society.

Jeffrey S. Young
Jeffrey Steven Young, 46, of Huntsville died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his father, James Franklin Young.
He was the owner of Video Adventures in Harvest.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Young and Chris Young, both of Huntsville, and Corey Young of Harvest; his mother Lena Young of Huntsville; one sister, Cathy Byrd of Huntsville; and one grandson.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Mental Health Center, 660 Gallatin St., Huntsville 35801.
