Lavine W. Angerman
Lavine W. Angerman, 83, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. A graveside service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Canaan Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Freeman officiating.
Spry Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mrs. Angerman was a native of Franklin County, Tenn., and lived most of her life in Huntsville. She was a retired beautician.
Survivors include one great-great niece.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles F. Barclay
DULUTH, Ga. - Charles Floyd Barclay died Tuesday. The funeral was to be today at 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church in Duluth.
Burial was to be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro, Ala., with Bill Mead Funeral Home in Duluth in charge.
Mr. Barclay, a native of Woodville, was a U.S. Air Force pilot during World War II and a consultant for an aircraft company. He was a member of Berkley Hills Country Club and Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Barclay; one son, Charles Duane Barclay of Lilburn, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations be made to the Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
Earl Bishop
SCOTTSBORO - Earl Bishop, 96, died Tuesday at Jackson County Nursing Home in Scottsboro. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at the Rudder Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Pace officiating.
Burial was to be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Bishop was a retired farmer.
Survivors include one daughter, Inez Butler of Scottsboro; one sister, Elsie Carver of Hollywood; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
James E. Byers
TAFT, Tenn. - James Edward Byers, 81, of 23 Byers Road died Wednesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Edgar officiating.
Burial will be in Prosperity Cemetery.
Mr. Byers was a native of Lincoln County. He retired from NASA and was a member of Prosperity Associate Reformed Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Beeson of Memphis and Nancy Gardner of Hendersonville; one son, Ronald Byers of Memphis; two sisters, Marie Calloway of Pensacola, Fla., and Eunice Byers of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ernest C. Cannon
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Ernest C. "Fip" Cannon, 84, of 1555 Winchester Highway died Wednesday at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Dr. Calvin Todd officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Cannon was a master carpenter and a member of Fayetteville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne Marshall.
Survivors include his wife, Villa Pitts Cannon of Huntsville, one daughter, Kaye Scruggs of Memphis, Tenn; and four grandchildren.
Visitation is today after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mary M. Chamness
HARTSELLE - Mary McKay Chamness, 68, of 3066 County Road 257 in Courtland, died Saturday at her residence. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Barnett officiating.
Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Chamness was born Oct. 23, 1930 in Lawrence County. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herschel Cheatham.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Kirk of Lynn, Debra England of Grayson and Brenda McAllister and Carolyn Stricklyn, both of Moulton; a brother, Russell Cheatham of Hartselle; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Annie B. Chandler
Annie B. Chandler, 81, of Huntsville died Wednesday in Fayetteville, Tenn. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Jannett Cunningham
Jannett Cunningham, 63, of 2219 Suzanne Terrace died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at First M.B. Church with Dr. Julius R. Scruggs officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Ms. Cunningham was born in Alberta. She was employed at Comcast Cable for 19 years and worked for Joiner Superior Service for 18 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Carolyn Cunningham Robinson of Birmingham, Machell L. Cunningham of Columbus, Md., and Jewel Joiner and Crystal Coleman, both of Huntsville; four sons, Frederick D. Cunningham and Arthur Joiner, both of Huntsville, and Kenneth D. Cunningham and Aaron Robinson Jr., both of Birmingham; one sister, Eleanor Lewis of Mobile; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home.
Susie Denney
ARAB - Susie Denney, 68, died Tuesday in a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial was in Marshall Memorial Garden.
Survivors include two sons, Chris Denney of Arab and Steve Denney of Florida; several brothers and sisters; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Nadean Goar
ATHENS - Nadean Goar, 76, of Lake Bates Road died Wednesday at Decatur General Hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Spry Chapel with the Revs. Joe Curtis and Dwight Ridinger officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Goar was born Sept. 2, 1922 in Limestone County. She was a member of Seven Mile Post Road Church of Christ and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Bates Adams.
Survivors include her husband, Charlie Goar of Athens; a daughter, Oma Lou White of Athens; a stepdaughter, Judy Lane of Decatur; a stepson, Gaylon Goar of Houston; and three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Maurice Harris
DECATUR - Maurice "Scribby" Harris, 59 died Monday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Friday at noon at Kings Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. Wylheme Ragland officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Harris was a courier supervisor at Central Bank in Decatur and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Ruth Harris of Decatur; two daughters, Gloria Flowers of Madison and Clotile Yvette Rice of Decatur; his mother, Clotile Harris of Decatur; one brother, Harold Harris of Decatur; and four grandchildren.
The body will be at church an hour before the funeral.

Eldon J. Hoar
OXFORD, Miss. - Eldon Jesse Hoar, 92, died Sunday at an Oxford veterans home.
The funeral was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home in Oxford.
Mr. Hoar lived in Huntsville, Ala., from 1955 until 1998. He worked at Redstone Arsenal in the civil service and as a public accountant, retiring at age 87. He served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater in World War II, rising to the rank of colonel and receiving the Purple Heart and Legion of Merit.
Mr. Hoar, who attended Oklahoma A&M and the University of Miami, also had a career in the newspaper business. He was general manager and partner of a monthly farm paper, The Southern Farmer, and editor/publisher of the Troy Messenger. In 1950, he bought the Oxford, Miss., Eagle, and he founded the Journal of Southern Commerce in 1954.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Mae Zimmerman Hoar of Oxford; two sons, Dr. John Hoar of Huntsville and Dr. Jere Hoar of Mississippi; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Viola E. Lucas
Viola Estella Lucas, 71, of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. A private service will be held at the home.
Burial will be in a Fayetteville, N.C., Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Lucas was a native of Maxton, N.C.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria L. Ledford, and two sons, Ronnie C. Ledford and Baby Boy Allen.
Survivors include four daughters, Brenda Jean McLean of North Carolina, Mona Lita Ledford of Gurley, Jenny R. Adams of Huntsville and Gloria Jean Torre of Governor, N.Y.; five sons, Lee D. Ledford and Paul E. Ledford, both of North Carolina, Matthew E. Ledford of Daleville, Gale L. Allen of Powell, Tenn. and John L. Allen of Yodar, Colo.; one brother, John Lacy Lucas of Fayetteville, N.C.; and 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Carrie C. Moore
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Carrie Christine Moore, 67, died Sunday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Calvin Moore, Sr.

BRIDGEPORT - Ms. Mandy Ella Pace, 105, of Bridgeport, died Wednesday at her home. The funeral was to be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bridgeport Church of God with the Revs. Billy Smith and Mayburn Guess officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery with Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson in charge.
Survivors include three daughters, Ruthie Anthony, Frances Owens and Ethel Ferguson, all of Bridgeport; one son, Dewey Pace of Bridgeport; 34 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

Pearl M. Perry
Pearl Mary Perry, 85, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a Decatur hospital. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Perry was a native of Giles County, Tenn., and a lifelong resident of Madison County.
Survivors include one son, John Perry of Huntsville; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Jolly of Huntsville; one sister, Tubie Looney of Decatur; and 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Ruth Ray, 82, of 713 Swanson Blvd. died Wednesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral is today at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Richard Hughes officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Miss Ray was a native of Lewisburg, Tenn., and a member and former organist of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Thelma Parks and Doris Moore, both of Fayetteville; and three nieces and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Roland Rice
Roland Rice, 55, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Little Indian Creek P.B. Church with the Rev. Jerry Crutcher officiating.
Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his mother, Carrie Minor Rice of Huntsville; four sisters, Wanderine Rice, Waverly Jones, Sophia Clark and Hattie Mae Douglas, all of Huntsville; and four brothers, John L. Rice, Elbert Leon Rice, Elder Levoy Rice and Larry Rice, all of Huntsville.

CASTLEBERRY - Laura Ellis Simmons, 95, died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at First Merritta Baptist Church in Castleberry with Pastor Alphonso Duke officiating.

Survivors include one son, John E. Simmons of Harvest; one brother, Ira Blackmon of Brewton; and six step-grandchildren, 17 step-great grandchildren and 21 step-great-great grandchildren.
J. H. Stephens
SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - Rev. J. Harold Stephens, 85, died Tuesday at a Shelbyville hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Bomar Cemetery with Howell-Lawrence Funeral Home in charge.
The Rev. Mr. Stephens was retired but remained active in the ministry. He served for 43 years on the board of trustees of Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Witherington Stephens of Shelbyville; three sons, David H. Stephens of Huntsville, Wendell V. Stephens of Kingston Springs, Tenn., and Philip D. Stephens of Shelbyville; one sister, Mabel Brinkley of Tullahoma, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.
