Henry L. Binford Jr.
Henry Louis Binford, Jr., 48, of 5026 Parkwood Drive died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral was today at 1 p.m. at Syler Tabernacle P.B. Church with the Rev. Annaias Green officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Binford was employed with the City of Huntsville for 14 years. He was the president and founder of Brother Love MCSC and a member of Macedonia P.B. Church.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Wright Binford of Huntsville; two daughters, Ashley Renae Binford of Huntsville and Tracey Denise Burrell of Auburn; five brothers, Bobby R. Binford, Joe L. Binford, Aron L. Binford, Johnny L. Binford and Steaven A. Binford, all of Huntsville; five sisters, Louberta D. Pettis, Sandra Edwards, Doris Montgomery, Carolyn Milton and Clara D. Simmons, all of Huntsville.
The body will be at the church an hour before the funeral.
Glen N. Boatwright
Chief Warrant Officer Glen N. Boatwright, 49, of Huntsville died Monday at his home. The memorial service will be today at 4 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel.
Survivors include one daughter, Christina Louise Boatwright of Huntsville; one son, Glen Marcus Boatwright of Huntsville; his mother, Christina R. Boatwright of Huntsville; one brother, David Boatwright of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one sister, Vickie Moore of Ardmore; and one grandchild.
Una B. Bouldin
DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - Una Beulah Bouldin, 86, of Douglasville died Monday at her residence. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial was to be in New Bethel Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Russell of Georgia; four stepsons, Preston Bouldin, Ernest Bouldin and Donald Bouldin, all of Boaz, and Durell Bouldin of Albertville; three sisters, Rhonalda Green e, Alma Baker and Mable Baker; four brothers, Willie Meadows, Houston Meadows, Elbert Meadows and S.T. Meadows; and two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Mary E. Christian
Mary Elizabeth Christian, 79, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Christian was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County. She was also owner and operator of Gil-Chris Ceramics.
Survivors include five daughters, Phyliss Ann Kanash of Boston, Mass., Betty Doris Gilmore of Meridianville, Mary Lou Ratliff of Madison and Linda Sue Young and Cynthia Jane Christian, both of Huntsville; one son, James Baron Christian of Tucson, Ariz.; and 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
C. Wayne Cope
C. Wayne Cope, 59, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Emerson Lyle officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Cope was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Bulman Cope; one daughter, Kim Piner of Huntsville; one son, Mark Wayne Cope of Madison; two sisters, Patricia C. Woodruff of Hartselle and Anna Crutcher of Taft, Tenn.; three brothers, Stanley Royce Cope of Fayetteville, Tenn., Charles Cope of Marietta, Ga., and Larry Cope of Owens Cross Roads; and one grandson, Joshua Piner.

Nellie J. Dowell
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Nellie Johnson Dowell, 85, died Friday at her home. The memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church in Huntsville.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Huntsville and taught for the Huntsville School System for 40 years. She was also a business partner with Jeff Smith in the Home Ice and Coal Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tant Eddie Dowell.
Survivors include one daughter, Eddie Lynn Dowell Finch of Charlotte; one brother, Billy Johnson of Toney; one sister, Ruth Johnson Hamilton of Sweet Water; and two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.

Shirley J. Durant
ATHENS - Mrs. Shirley Jean Durant, 55, of 17459 Hall Road died Monday at her residence. A memorial service will be announced by McConnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Durant was a member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and Top of the Hill Sunday School Class.
Survivors include one daughter, Pauline Williams of Athens, Ga.; two sons, Ricky Durant and Maurice Wilson, both of Chicago; one sister, Patricia Durant of Chicago; one brother, Jack Durant of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
Bailey Higginbotham
ATHENS - Bailey Gardner "B.G." Higginbotham, 93, of 18640 Mooresville Road died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Keenum and Bro. Balvin Inman officiating.
Burial will be in Bottoms Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Higginbotham of Athens; three sons, James Erskin Higginbotham, Douglas Earl Higginbotham and Milton Ray Higginbotham, all of Athens; one brother, Ozell Higginbotham of Athens; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Charles R. Huber
SCOTTSBORO - Charles Richard Huber, 72, died Tuesday in a Fort Payne hospital. A graveside service was to be today at 2 p.m. at Pine Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Edd Whitton officiating.
W.T. Wilson Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Survivors include two brothers, James Huber of Section and Harold Huber of Scottsboro and several nieces and nephews.

Marjee McCreary
Marjee McCreary, 47, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home chapel with Pastor John Dees officiating.
Burial will be in Garden Sanctuary Cemetery in Seminole, Fla.
Mrs. McCreary was a member of Willowbrook Baptist Church and past president of North Alabama Wildlife Rehabbers.
Survivors include her husband, Jack McCreary of Huntsville; one son, Charles McCreary of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Jackee McCreary of Huntsville; her father, Charles D. Smith of Ocala, Fla.; her mother, Orena Smith of Ocala.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Lawson Rhodes
GOOD HOPE - Lawson Rhodes, 78, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Perry Knight officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Rhodes was a farmer and retired maintenance supervisor for the Morgan County Courthouse.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvia Rhodes.
Survivors include one son, Frank Lawson Rhodes, Jr. of Good Hope; three daughters, Faye Higginbotham of Decatur, Doris Lindsey of Good Hope and Joyce Moates of Richmond, Va.; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Martha Rudolph
HAMBURG, Germany - Mrs. Martha Rudolph, 94, died Sunday in Hamburg.
She was the widow of Dr. Arthur Rudolph, a rocket pioneer who managed the Saturn V moon rocket project with the team of scientists led by Dr. Wernher von Braun.
Survivors include her daughter, Marianne Rudolph of California; and a sisterin Germany.

Carl W. Smith
DELLROSE, Tenn. - Carl Wilson Smith, 85, of 1143 Old Elkton Pike died Tuesday at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Don Hudson officiating.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a native of Lincoln County and was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Pattie Curtis Smith of Dellrose; four daughters, Marie Bevels and Brenda Gatlin, both of Pulaski, Tenn., Patricia Knott of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Ellen Doss of Maryville, Tenn.; four sons, Steve Smith of Annandale, Va., and Ralph Smith, Tommy Smith and Sloan Smith, all of Dellrose; one brother, Clifford Smith of Egden, Kan.; and 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today after 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Grace R. Stewart
MADISON - Grace R. Stewart died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Billy J. Stewart and Kenneth W. Stewart, both of Madison, and Wilbert Stewart of California; one daughter, Katie S. Tipton of Huntsville; one brother, James Ransom of Athens; two sisters, Naomi Fagan of Huntsville and Mary Elizabeth Bergstrom of Norfolk, Va.; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

George B. Wood
BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. - The Right Rev. George B. Wood died Tuesday. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Rev. Wood was a graduate of Hoosac School in Hoosick, N.Y., and held a doctor of divinity degree from Nashotah House Seminary in Nashotah, Wis. He had been the rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Wayne, Ind., for 24 years, and had been associated with the Church of the Nativity in Huntsville for 28 years.
He also was past president and permanent chaplain for the 82nd Airborne Division Association. Rev. Wood was past national chaplain of AMVETS, an honorary citizen of Ste. Mere Eglise, Normandy, France, vice chairman of the Hall of Fame of Parachuting and a 35-year member of the Kiwanis Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma E. Pratt Wood.
Survivors include one son, G. Michael Wood of Evansville, Ind.; one daughter, Kathryn H. Du Fresne of Blairsville, Ga.; one sister, Miriam Wood of Pulaski, N.Y.; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Church of Nativity.
