Frances E. Blake
Frances Elizabeth Blake, 90, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Oakwood College Seventh-day Adventist Church with Elder T. Marshall Kelly officiating.
Burial will be in Faith Memorial Park with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Ms. Blake was a teacher for several years in New York. She was dean of women at Oakwood College and at Pine Forge Institute in Pottsdam, Pa. She was also a member of Oakwood College Church.
Survivors include one sister, Alice Brantley of Huntsville; five nephews, Daniel Neil of Chillicothe, Ohio, Richard Neil of Grand Terrace, Calif., Alfred Neil of Chicago, Dr. Kenneth Brantley of Huntsville and Paul Brantley of Berrian Springs, Mich.; and three nieces, Marion Brantley of Stockton, Calif., Marjorie Lowery of Atlanta and Charlotte Holmes of Linden, Calif.
Visitation will be Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Dillard Chamblee
AUSTELL, GA. - Dillard Chamblee, 94, of 4108 Down Drive died Monday at a local nursing home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was in Sardis Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey B. Chamblee; two sons, James Chamblee of Georgia and Kenneth Chamblee of Steele; three sisters, Janie Holmes, Maggie Qualls and Pluma Wilks, all of Boaz; one brother, John Chamblee of Albertville; and four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Roxy H. Duffey
HENAGAR - Roxy Haney Duffey, 40, died Monday at a Chattanooga hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with Elder Tony Ivey officiating.
Burial was to be in Liberty Cemetery in Henagar.
Survivors include two brothers, Gary Haney and Ronald Haney, both of Rossville, Ga.

Lawrence E. Franks
GRANT - Lawrence E. Franks, 48, of 6431 Simpson Point Road died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Free Home Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Glenna Franks; two sons, Maurice DeArmond of South Carolina and Justin Franks of Grant; three sisters, Nellie Mitchell and Cynthia A. Mitchell, both of Huntsville, and Mary Boullion of Louisiana; and three brothers, O.A. Franks of Crossville, Charles Franks of South Carolina and John F. Franks of Albertville.
Visitation is today at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Don M. Lane Sr.
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Don M. Lane Sr., 64, of 921 2nd Ave. died Tuesday at his home. The graveside service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev. Bill McNeeley officiating.
Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Lane was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., and an Army veteran. He retired from Kerns Bakery.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Freeman Lane of Fayetteville; one daughter, Shannon Honea of Fayetteville; five sons, Donald Lane Jr. and Mark Lane, both of Alabama, Danny Lane of Fayetteville and Harry Lane and Doug Lane, both of Centerville, Tenn.; two stepsons, Scott Glover and Jeff Glover, both of Tennessee; one sister, Barbara Hemphill of Nashville; and seven grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Alicia N. McGuff
Alicia Nadine McGuff, infant daughter of Lester McGuff and Cara Shillings, both of Huntsville, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral is today at 4 p.m. at Twickenham Memorial Gardens.
Twickenham Funeral Home East is in charge of burial.
Other survivors include one sister, Tabitha Rhea McGuff of Huntsville; two half sisters, Kayla Shillings and Emily Shillings, both of Oliver Springs, Tenn.; three grandparents, Linda Holley of Huntsville and Don and Connie Shillings of Oliver Springs; and two great-grandparents.

Wesley P. McLain
SCOTTSBORO - The Rev. Wesley P. McLain, 72, died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Holiness Church with the Revs. Shirley Byrum and Alton Willmon officiating.
Burial will be in Gunter Mountain Memorial Garden.
Rev. McLain was pastor at Oak Grove Holiness Church in Swearengin and a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Larue Cowley McLain.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda McLain Putman of Scottsboro; one son, Jimmy D. McLain of Chesterton, Ind.; one sister, Ruth Holaway Benson of Scottsboro; three brothers, Hilra D. McLain of Scottsboro, Rev. James A. McLain of Lookout Mountain, Ga., and Doyle C. McLain of Hytop; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mamie L. Smith
ANDERSON - Mamie Leo Smith, 90, of Anderson died Tuesday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with John Shamblin officiating.
Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Limestone County and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert E. Smith.
Survivors include one daughter, Willese McConnell of Jasper; three sons, Arnold L. Smith of Covington, Ga., Harold E. Smith of Anderson and Donald R. Smith of Jasper; and 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Viola B. Stone
ARAB - Viola Butler Stone, 86, of 71 Freeport Lane died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial was to be in Brooklyn Cemetery in Cullman County.
Survivors include four daughters, Lucille Horton, Doris Franklin, Melba Harden and Bertha Martin, all of Arab; two sons, John Butler of Snead and Donald L. Butler of Trafford; one sister, Janie Lanie of Guntersville; one brother, J.W. Bush of Michigan; and 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Doris M. Taylor
HAZEL GREEN - Doris Mae Taylor, 75, of Dundee Road died Tuesday at a local nursing home. Gallant Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.

Essie C. West
LACEYS SPRING - Essie Clyde West, 86, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel.
Entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mrs. West was a homemaker and a native of Fitzgerald, Ga.
Survivors include one daughter, Clyde Renee West of Huntsville; three sons, Benny West and John West, both of Union Grove, and David West of Balton, S.C.; and 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
