GRANT - Alice Ruth Cooper, 70, of 2511 Eleven Forty Road died Monday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Keith Bevel officiating.
Burial will be in Panquin Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan Bates of Grant, Carolyn East of Laceys Spring and Linda Tucker of Athens; one son, Ronald L. Cooper of Huntsville; one sister, Francis Manning of Madison; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Connie E. Dunn
Connie Edward Dunn, 60, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Freddie Glasgow officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Dunn was a native of Madison County. He was a manager and employee at Piccadilly Cafeteria for 32 years. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Gale Dunn of Huntsville; four daughters, Rhonda Carden, Connie Lynne Dunn, Lisa Melba Dunn and Michelle Elizabeth Dunn, all of Huntsville; two sisters, Melba Maples and Mildred Shubert, both of Huntsville; one brother, Thomas Dunn of Huntsville; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kim Garner
SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. - Kim Garner, 35, died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Hughes officiating.
Burial will be in Wrights Cemetery.
She was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include her mother, Connie Sawyers of the McBurg Community in Lincoln County; her father, Ron Brye of Ardmore, Tenn.; and three brothers, Mark McDaniel of Huntsville, Ala., Mike McDaniel of Cocoa, Fla., and Marty McDaniel of Melbourne, Fla.
Ernest B. Gurley Sr.
NEW MARKET - Ernest Boyd Gurley Sr., 71, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at noon at Valhalla Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Schultz and the Rev. Ralph Riddle officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Gurley was a native of Dahlonega, Ga., and had lived in Madison County since 1957. He retired from Redstone Arsenal as a maintenance readiness officer. He was also a deacon at New Market Baptist Church and former chairman of New Market Community Association.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara King Gurley of New Market; one son, Ernest Boyd "Buddy" Gurley Jr. of New Market; one daughter, Jenny Gurley Smith of New Market; three brothers, Bill Gurley of Flowery Branch, Ga., Alan Gurley of Cleveland, Ga., and Arnold Gurley of Royston, Ga.; one sister, Pauline Langston of Seneca, S.C.; and three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

George A. Heller Jr., 69, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. Twickenham Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Maria Mathews
Maria Matilde Cayrol Mathews, 76, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tom Perrin officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Casey P. Mathews of Huntsville; two sons, William F. Mathews and Bryan E. Mathews, both of Huntsville; one daughter, Cecilia M. Hall of Arab; three sisters, Gladys Fiore and Myrtha Cayrol, both of Mardelplata, Argentina, and Miriam Poujol of Argentina; and three grandsons.

Ruth Morgan
Ruth Morgan, 81, of Huntsville died Jan. 24 at a local hospital. Burial was Thursday in Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas, with Spry Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Morgan was a native of South Carolina and had lived in El Paso most of her life. She had lived in Huntsville six months and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Boyce M. Morgan of Huntsville; one son, Boyce M. Morgan Jr. of Huntsville; two sisters, Charlotte Turner of Cheraw, S.C., and Rosa Summerlin of Snow Hill, N.C.; and one brother, Elbert Rainwater of Cheraw.
Catherine North
Catherine North, 65, of Villa Rica, Ga., died Thursday at a Lithonia, Ga., hospital. The funeral was Monday at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Rogers officiating.
Burial was in Northside Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. North was formerly of Huntsville.
Survivors include three daughters, Jacqueline Watkins of Huntsville, Kathy James of Carollton, Ga., and Wanda Dominick of Douglasville, Ga.; two sons, Kenneth Boone of Huntsville and Joe A. North Jr. of Villa Rica; three sisters, Grace Gardner, Gertrude Gaines and Gwendolyn R. Turner, all of Huntsville; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Elsie L. Pettus
Elsie L. Pettus, 66, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Bill Phillips officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Pettus was preceded in death by one son, Danny D. "Bud" Pettus.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel E. Pettus of Huntsville; one daughter, Jonie L. Collins of Huntsville; one son, Danny A. Pettus of Huntsville; three sisters, Ruby Morton of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Cloie Dill and Ruth Andrews, both of Huntsville; two grandsons, Dewayne Shumate and Daniel Shumate, both of Huntsville; and two granddaughters, Jessica Pettus of Huntsville and Robin Pettus of Mobile.

Sue P. Reid
Sue Payne Reid, 81, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ralph Langley officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Reid had taught private piano lessons in Huntsville since 1948. She played piano for First Baptist Church from 1949 to 1965 and on the churchs tour choir.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise R. Ballenger of Anniston and Suellen R. Field of Sarasota, Fla.; and one sister, Grace P. Wales of Scottsboro; and four grandchildren.

ATHENS - Cora Pike Richardson, 92, of 25887 Copeland Road died Sunday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Babcock officiating.
Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Richardson; and three sons, Henry E. Richardson, Forrest Wayne Richardson and Joe Lane Richardson.
Survivors include four daughters, Willodean Benge and Dianne Powers, both of Athens, Edith Howgate of Huntsville and Charlotte Rudd of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; one son, John David Richardson of Athens; and 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

SCOTTSBORO - Cennie Bell Trimew, 88, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Hollywood with the Rev. William R. Tibbs officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro with Rudder Funeral Home in charge.
Ms. Trimew was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Leslie McDaniel of Huntsville; one son, James L. Austin of Hollywood; two sisters, Pearl Moore and Helen McCarver, both of Scottsboro; six grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

BRYANT - Ruth Ann Wade, 94, died Monday at a Bridgeport hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Park in Bryant.
Survivors include three daughters, Verna Ruth Wood of Cleburne, Texas, Frances Brown of Mitchellville, Tenn., and Joyce Cooper of Keen, Texas; seven sons, James A. Wade, Ray Wade and Dwight Wade, all of Bryant, Earl Eugene Wade of Fayetteville, Tenn., Glenn Wade of Greer, S.C., Edward Wade of Chattanooga, and Jerry Wade of LaFayette, Ga.; one sister, Ruby Early of Morehouse, Mo.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Violet B. Warden, 89, of 47 Gentry St. died Sunday at a Greenville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Westville Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens, S.C., with Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Northwest in charge.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nita Phillips.
Survivors include two daughters, Marguerite Wilson of Greenville and Pamela Hawkins of Gurley; two sons, Sam "Gerald" Warden of Greenville and L.E. "Butch" Warden of Six Mile, N.C.; and 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Cleon Yates of Decatur; two brothers, Fred Yates of Cullman and Elmer Yates of Birmingham; two sisters, Mary Jeter of Gardendale and Martha Culver of Decatur; and one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren.
