Claude Berryhill Jr., 78, of Huntsville died Saturday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Scott Gossett officiating.
Mr. Berryhill was a Madison County native and was a retired chief boatswain with the Navy after 30 years of service. He was formerly employed with NASA security.
Survivors include his wife, Lois C. Berryhill; three sons, Barry A. Berryhill of Madison and Freddy M. Berryhill and Dennis P. Berryhill, both of Huntsville; two daughters, Judy A. Sands and Kim Jones, both of Huntsville; and 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Spry.
Kay Bohannon
SCOTTSBORO - Kay Bohannon, 39, died Saturday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Jessica Hastings of Scottsboro; one son, Paul Hastings of Scottsboro; her father and stepmother, Carl and Ramona Adkins of Pisgah; three sisters, Taletha Adkins of Stuart Draft, Va., Carla Reed of Pisgah and Becky Green e of Douglas; one brother, Venson Adkins of Smyrna, Tenn.; and one grandson.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Spegiel M. Burke
ALBERTVILLE - Spegiel Murdock Burke, 79, formerly of Grove Oak, died Wednesday in a Gadsden hospital. The funeral was Saturday at 11 a.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Phillips and the Rev. Jimmy Howard officiating.
Mr. Burke was a DeKalb County native and a retired mail carrier. He was a World War II veteran and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Burke; three daughters, Paulette Esco of Birmingham and Betty Ann Antonidis and Judy Faye Burnett, both of Houston; one son, Don Burke of Albertville; one sister, Jessie Britton of Albertville; one brother, Woodrow Burke of Anniston; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Herbert Coleman Sr.
JACKSON, Miss. - Herbert Holt Coleman Sr., 61, died Wednesday at a Phoenix hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Coleman had lived in Jackson most of his life and was a senior vice president with Trustmark Bank before retiring in 1992 after 32 years. He was a fund-raiser and supporter of various charities. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian.
Survivors include his wife, Marimae Clark Coleman; one daughter, Sarabeth Coleman Martinson of Huntsville; one son, Herbert H. Coleman Jr. of Phoenix; one sister, Carolyn Coleman Downs of Ft. Myers, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home.

ALBERTVILLE - Amy Gail Engle, 22, of 161 Woodland Trails died Friday in a traffic accident near Guntersville. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Survivors include one son, Joey L. Engle of Albertville; her mother, Syble J. Engle of Albertville; her father, Lonnie Engle of Crossville; two sisters, Sandra Prickett and Rebecca L. Price, both of Albertville; and one brother, Tommy Engle of Crossville.
Patricia C. Gillispie
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Patricia Christine Robbins Gillispie, 47, formerly of the Rainsville area, died Wednesday in Jacksonville. The funeral was Saturday at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Brother Billy Summerford and Brother Jimmy Summerford officiating.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Ann Roebuck of Clanton; her mother, Erma Robbins of Rainsville; four sisters, Marie Ryan and Joyce Hickcox, both of Rainsville, and Omie Thigpen and Gaynell Robbins, both of Jacksonville; four brothers, Jimmy Robbins and Arnold Robbins, both of Rainsville, and Jerry Robbins and Ricky Robbins, both of Jacksonville; and four grandchildren.
James W. King
PUEBLO, Colo. - James William King, 50, died Monday at his home. A graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Bridgeport with the Rev. George Maynor officiating and Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson directing.
Mr. King was an engineer for T.T.C. Railroad and the Santa Fe Railroad.
Survivors include three sons, Jason King of Davenport, Iowa; Erik King of Chicago; and Ian King of Dalton Gardens, Idaho; and one sister, Remelle Sowenski of Guild, Tenn.
Visitation will be today from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gene J. Ott
FLAT ROCK - Gene J. Ott, 90, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with Elder Herbert Chapman and Elder Lee Price officiating.
Mr. Ott was retired from Combustion Engineering in Chattanooga and was a member of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church in Ider.
Survivors include his wife, Tola Ott; two daughters, Bobbie Jean Broyles and Judy Wootten, both of Ider; two sons, Boyd Ott of Flat Rock and Ronnie Ott of Ider; and 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin today at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Everettle B. Saffels
POWELL - Everettle B. Saffels, 84, died Thursday at a Scottsboro hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Sand Mountain Funeral Home in Rainsville with the Rev. Melvin Dawson officiating.
Survivors include six daughters, Brenda Higgins of Grove Oak, Northene Coffey, Jessie Saffels and Donna Smith, all of Dawson; Lavorene Whitton of Section and Trecia Smith of Geraldine; five sons, Wadis Saffels of Fyffe and Verlon Saffels, Enos Saffels, Farris Saffels and Lamar Saffels, all of Dawson; one sister, Beatrice Maxwell of Arab; one brother, Vance Saffels of Englewood, Tenn., and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Gordon E. Smithey
BIRMINGHAM - Gordon Everett Smithey, 82, died Saturday. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel in Midfield. Among those officiating will be the Rev. Michael Dowling and the Rev. Pageant Cope.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Smithey; three daughters, Louise High of Birmingham, Janice Bryant of Gadsden and Sandra Dowling of Pinson; two sisters, Georgia Bice and Vera Mullin, both of Huntsville; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

CHATTANOOGA - Lola Mae Stephenson, 87, died Friday. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Thomas Wallace officiating.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Chapman of Chattanooga and Sue Wilson of Henagar; three sons, David Stephenson of Flat Rock, J.C. Stephenson of Rising Fawn, Ga., and Billy Stephenson of Higdon; four sisters, Orstine Sanders of Chattanooga, Hazel Horton of Tazewell, Tenn., Ruby Mayo of Flat Rock and Jewell Hunt of Rossville, Ga.; and 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
