Ludie Adams
ATHENS - Ludie Mae Romine Adams, 80, of Elkton Road died Monday at her home. The funeral will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Tony Wales and Neil Hayes officiating.
Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Adams was a homemaker, a member of Elkton Road Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Prentis Adams.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Hargrove, Linda King and Brenda Adams, all of Athens; four sons, Doyce Adams of Lester, Danny Adams of Hatton, Jerry Adams and Phillip Adams, both of Athens; four sisters, Flora Bates of Athens, Norema Sandlin, Carrie Guthrie and Lois Powell, all of Cullman; one brother, Ellis Romine of Birmingham; and 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or to American Cancer Society.

John T. Battle Sr.
John Thomas Battle Sr., 78, of 6801 Pulaski Pike died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Sykes officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Battle was a deacon and trustee at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Huntsville Utilities.
Survivors include his wife, Velma Battle of Huntsville; two daughters, Bettye Kinniard of Harrisburg, Pa., and Sirlean Battle of Huntsville; one son, John T. Battle Jr. of Huntsville; one stepson, Joe L. Nance of Huntsville; three sisters, Inez Wilson and Sadie Garner, both Ypsilanti, Mich., and Louise Battles of Huntsville; two brothers, Ira B. Battle of Huntsville and Ned Battle of Inkster, Mich.; one stepbrother, Walter Ed Garner of Harvest; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

William C. Beasley
LESTER - William Crowson "Bill" Beasley, 71, of 25751 Salem Minor Hill Road died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Blankenship officiating.
Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Beasley was a native of west Limestone County and worked as a truck driver in Detroit for construction and here with Decatur Petroleum Haulers. He was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church where he was a trustee and Sunday school teacher and helped build the Family Life Center.
Survivors include his wife, Charlsa Williams Beasley of Lester; one daughter, Diane B. Haney of Athens; two sons, Thomas M. Beasley of Lester and William G. Beasley of Pulaski, Tenn.; his mother, Laura Lou Beasley of Lester; one sister, Dean B. Green haw of Athens; two brothers, Bobby Beasley of Lester and Stanley Beasley of Decatur; and four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Memorial donations may be made to Salem Cemetery in care of Mary Beasley Johnston, 27154 Salem Minor Hill Road, Lester, 35647, or to Hospice of Limestone County.

Frank M. Birmingham
MERIDIANVILLE - Frank Mack Birmingham, 69, died Monday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Charity Cemetery in Hazel Green .
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Birmingham was a native of Merietta, Ohio, and had lived in Madison County 35 years. He retired from the Army and the National Guard and served in the Korean War. He was in the military 35 years. He retired from Boeing Corp. of Huntsville and was a member of American Legion Post No. 237, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Birmingham of Meridianville; one daughter, Carolyn Zarsky of Tuscon, Ariz.; one brother, John Birmingham of Davenport, Iowa; one sister, Joan Birmingham of Oamaha, Neb.; and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Willie S. Brazelton
ARAB - Willie Sue Brazelton, 59, died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve Sharp officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Brazelton was a native of Marshall County and had lived in Huntsville before she moved to Arab. She retired from Motorola.
Survivors include her husband, Walter L. Brazelton; one sister, Shirley Sutton of Guntersville; three brothers, John McKinney and J.B. Mckinney, both of Albertville, and Royce McKinney of Guntersville; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Laura P. Carriger
BILLERICA, Mass. - Laura P. Carriger, 85, died Tuesday in Billerica. The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Gallant Funeral Home in Hazel Green .
Burial will be in Concord Cemetery.
She was a native of Waterloo, Ala., and worked as a management assistant at Redstone Arsenal until 1982. She was formerly of Hazel Green . She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Carriger; and one son, John M. Carriger.
Survivors include one daughter, Cheryl Brooks of Hazel Green ; and six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, five nieces and and six nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Zachary A. Cooper
NEW MARKET - Zachary Allen Cooper, infant son of Robert and Cathy Cooper of 190 Lewis Mountain Road, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Flint River Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney Bowling officiating.
Gallant Funeral Home in Hazel Green is in charge of burial.
Other survivors include two brothers, Matthew Cooper and James Cooper, both of New Market; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Addie Hall of Decatur; paternal grandparents, Robert and Bertha Cooper of Montgomery; and maternal great-grandmother, Arie Farr of Hattisburg, Miss.
Memorial donations may be made to the Flint River Baptist Church building fund.

Lloyd H. Hardgrave
Lloyd Harlow Hardgrave, 84, of Green Street in Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Madison Cross Roads Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Jones Hardgrave of Toney; three sons, Ronald N. Hardgrave of Greenville, S.C., Steven Jones Hardgrave of Germantown, Tenn., and Jeff Hardgrave of Rogersville; two daughters, Deborah H. Robinson of Ashland City, Tenn., and Susie H. Garvin of Toney; two brothers, Howard Hardgrave of Memphis, Tenn., and Robert E. Hardgrave of Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Lucille Holmes and Ruth H. Redd, both of Little Rock; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral.

Ronald P. Harris
DECATUR - Ronald Paul Harris, 66, died Tuesday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Queen and the Rev. Fred Glasgow officiating.
Burial will be in Old Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Harris was a native of Franklin County, a member of Bellview Baptist Church, former master at Rising Sun Masonic Lodge No. 29 F&AM in Decatur and retired from the NASA Space Science Lab in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn M. Harris of Decatur; two sons, Daniel Harris of Beaumont, Texas, and David Harris of Decatur; his mother, Lyda Mae Harris of Decatur; one sister, Maylene Beasley of Decatur; and two granddaughters.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

James P. Haywood Jr.
James P. Haywood Jr., 85, of Huntsville died Monday at a Monteagle, Tenn., nursing home. The graveside service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Dr. Ralph Langley officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Haywood worked in the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control enforcement division about 28 years. He retired in 1970 when he was district supervisor. He was an Army World War II veteran and served in the Company B 519th Military Police Battalion in the Philippines. He was awarded the ATO and APTO medals, the Philippine Liberation Ribon, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie P. Haywood.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Shepard of San Jose, Calif., and Jane Overbeck of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Jennifer Shequin of Tremont, Calif., and Julie Shepard of Sacramento, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association North Alabama Chapter, Century Office Center, 3322 South Parkway Suite 16, Huntsville, 35801.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Clarence Heard
BOAZ - Clarence Heard, 80, of 1755 Gene Brown Road died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial was to be in Forrest Home Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Edris G. Heard; three daughters, Sue Glassco of Horton, Brenda Milner of Boaz and Peggy Glover of Arab; four sisters, Brooksie Wilks and Rosa Martin, both of Boaz, Jewell Brown of Albertville and Annie Akins of Florida; one brother, John Heard of Boaz; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Elmer R. Henson
ARAB - Elmer Red ''Pete Henson, 80, of 3031 Eddy-Scant City Road died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at New Friendship Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Mae Henson; and three sisters, Sally Mitchell and Dollie Smith, both of Arab, and Della Mills of Albertville.
Visitation will be today from 3:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruby P. Hillis
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Ruby P. Hillis, 73, of 109 Hughes Lane died Monday in Winchester, Tenn. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with Bro. James Glisson officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Glover of Owens Cross Roads; one son, Danny Hillis of Tullahoma, Tenn.; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from noon to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Katherine H. Mabry
ATHENS - Katherine Holland Mabry, 80, of 1601 East Forrest St. died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral was Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Steven Screws officiating.
Burial was in Athens City Cemetery with McConnell Funeral home in charge.
Survivors include her husband, H. Clyde Mabry; one daughter, Kaye Mabry Adams of Birmingham; two sisters, Marcella Holland Burns and Joyce Holland Layman, both of Athens; and five grandchildren.

Nancy B. McBride
Nancy B. McBride, 80, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David McMichael officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. McBride was a native of Tennessee, but spent most her life in Huntsville. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, a homemaker and former owner of Nancy Grill.
Survivors include one son, Larry Dale McBride of Huntsville; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Larry Nunley
SCOTTSBORO - Larry ''George Nunley, 70, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Dr. Harley Morrison officiating.
Burial will be in Centerpoint Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Nunley; three daughters, Janet Westmoreland of Scottsboro, Cathey Guffey of Pleasant View and Carol Keel of Hollywood; one son, Calvin Nunley of Huntsville; and 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William G. Reeder
William G. Reeder, 79, of Huntsville died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Faith Chapel Pentacostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Joel McGraw officiating.
Entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Reeder was a memeber of Faith Chapel Pentacostal Holiness Church, a World War II Navy veteran and retired from civil service.
Survivors include his wife, Dot Reeder of Huntsville; one daughter, Audria Young of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Margaret Suber of Sheffield and Mildred Miller, Esther Pearson and Jane Lanford, all of Spartanburg, S.C.; one brother, Harold Reeder of Spartanburg; and one grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the church building fund, 3913 Pulaski Pike, Huntsville, 35801, or to Hospice Family Care, 2225 Drake Ave., Huntsville, 35805.

Rex C. Talley
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Rex Carter Talley, 61, of Orchard Drive died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Hugles officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Talley retired from the U.S. Army Missile Command and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Henson Talley of Fayetteville; his mother, Lyndall Carter Talley of Fayetteville; three daughters, Pam Storey of Columbia, Tenn., Kim Hooten of Lewsiburg, Tenn., and Marion Connelly of Fayetteville; one sister, Marion Womack of Fayetteville; and four grandchildren.

Paul L. Tanner
MADISON - Paul L. Tanner, 66, died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Greg Tucker and Charles Maples officiating.
Mr. Tanner was a member of Harvest Church of Christ and retired as a NASA contractor after 32 years of work.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Hargrove Tanner of Madison; two sons, Steven Tanner of Huntsville and Scott Tanner of Alpharetta, Ga.; one daughter, Cathy Logan of Huntsville; three sisters, Katherine Levan of Huntsville, Anna Ruth Neal of Catlettsburg, Ky., and Peggy South of Harvest; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care or Madison Academy.

Mahlon G. Turner
Mahlon G. Turner, 63, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Hal Oakley officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Turner was a pharmacist, a graduate of Alabama Polytechnic Institute and co-owner of Medical Arts Pharmacy. He was president of local and state pharmaceutical associations and a member of the Huntsville Rotary and 25 clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Turner of Huntsville; three sons, Warren R. Turner of Atlanta, Brad Turner of Mountain View, Calif., and Stuart Turner of Huntsville; his parents, Binford and Elizabeth Turner of Athens; one sister, Gay Terry of Athens; and one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Christine Whitman
FARRELL, Pa. - Christine Whitman, 70, died Sunday. The funeral will be Friday at noon at New Hope Baptist Church in Farrell with the Rev. Clevon Dukes officiating.
Burial will be in Morefield Cemetery in Hermitage, Pa., with J.E. Washington Funeral Services in charge.
Mrs. Whitman was formerly of Huntsville.
Survivors include her husband, George Whitman of Farrell; one son, J.D. Whitman of Farrell; four sisters, Marie Tanner of Sharon, Pa., Geraldine Wherry of Sharon, Pa., and Katie Fields and Shirley Wherry, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, James Wherry of New Market, John Wherry of Huntsville and Edmond Wherry and Floyd Wherry, both of Jacksonville; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
