ROSALIE - Elva Elizabeth Hallman Allen, 96, died Tuesday. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Smith and Edd Gant officiating.
Burial will be in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Henagar.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, George Allen.
Survivors include four daughters, Betty Schmars of Smyrna, Tenn., Pauline Everett of Pisgah, Mabel A. Brazelton of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Dorothy Allen of Rosalie; two sons, James C. Allen of Flintstone, Ga., and Charles R. Allen of Lascassas, Tenn.; one sister, Radar Brooks of Stevenson; and nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Robert J. Anders
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Robert J. Anders, 57, of 143 Wilson Mann Road died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 3 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dewayne Martin officiating.
Burial was to be in Paint Rock Cemetery.
Mr. Anders retired from Darwin Plumbing Co. and was preceded in death by one son, John Robert Anders.
Survivors include a special friend, Betty Anders of New Hope; one daughter, Pamela Anders of New Hope; three brothers, Bill Anders of Paint Rock, Buddy Anders of New Hope and Gilbert Anders of Huntsville; two sisters, Lillie Belle Bush of New Hope and Mary Alice Swing of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Maxine Austin
Maxine Austin, 74, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Wallace Green officiating.
Burial will be in Charity Cemetery in Hazel Green .
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Austin Sulls of Huntsville; two sons, Jerry Austin and Troy Glenn Austin, both of Madison; two sisters, Augusta Stinson of Huntsville and Frances Cunningham of Lynchburg, Tenn.; one brother, A.E. Rozell of Ogden, Utah; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Arnold C. Bengston
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Arnold Carl Bengston, 77, died Monday at a veterans hospital in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Gallant Funeral Home in Fayetteville is in charge of burial.
Mr. Bengston was a native of Montrose, S.D., a member of the Huntsville Seventh-day Adventist Church, a retired technical advisor at Redstone Arsenal and a retired Army corporal.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Mattson Bengston of Murfreesboro; one son, Gary Bengston of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Raymond Bengston of North Highland, Calif.; three sisters, Bernice Gackenheimer of Collegedale, Tenn., Margaret Schmitt of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Hildus Griffin of Dade City, Fla.; and one grandson.
Danielle S. Brown
Danielle Simone Brown, 6, of Huntsville died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Greg Simon and the Rev. Carol Simon officiating.
Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens in Meridianville.
She was a native of Huntsville and was a student at Morris Elementary School. She attended Valley Fellowship Church.
Survivors include her parents, Stephen and Jodie Brown of Huntsville; one sister, Elizabeth Brown of Huntsville; two brothers, Benjamin Brown and Andrew Brown, both of Huntsville; her grandparents, Gordon and Gerry Brown of Oxford, Ala., and Lionell and Virginia Barthelemy of Huntsville; and her great-grandmothers, Ruth Barthelemy of New Orleans and Irene Willoughby of Anniston.

G.W. Cantrell
HAZEL GREEN - G.W. Cantrell, 79, of Elkwood Section Road died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel in Hazel Green with Dr. Joe Carwile officiating.
Burial will be in Charity Cemetery.
Mr. Cantrell was a native of Madison County, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Bethlehem Baptist Church and a retired dairy farmer.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Baeder of Hazel Green ; two sons, Terry Cantrell of Hazel Green and Michael Cantrell of Huntsville; three sisters, Dessie Wimberly and Lela Hames, both of Hazel Green, and Lessie Hunt of Huntsville; one brother, James Cantrell of Hazel Green ; and five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Laura B. Carter
ATHENS - Laura Belle Carter, 83, of Copeland Road died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Frank Calder and J.D. Saint officiating.
Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter was a native of Limestone County, a homemaker and a member of Ardmore Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Carter; three daughters, Pat Usery of Athens, Linda Clemmons of Madison and Faye Carter of Laceys Spring; six sons, Eugene Carter of Winter Haven, Fla., Clayton Carter, James Carter, Calvin Carter, Billy Carter and Clyde Carter, all of Athens; two sisters, Ruth Kirby of Anderson and Cleo Hargrove of Athens; one brother, Bea Tarpley of Anderson; and 28 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Paul L. Clem
BIRMINGHAM - Paul Livingstone Clem, 86, died March 16 in Birmingham. He was buried in Birmingham.
Mr. Clem was a minister at First Methodist Church in Huntsville from 1963 to 1970. He preached racial tolerance in all the churches he served, including First Methodist. He was a native of Athens and won an athletic scholarship to Birmingham-Southern College, where he played on the undefeated team of 1934. He received a bachelor of divinity degree from Emory University in 1939.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Clem of Framingham, Mass.; two sons, Paul Livingstone Clem Jr. of Birmingham and Robert Clem of Hoboken, N.J.; one sister, Naomi Lambert of Athens; and three grandchildren.
Zena C. Coleman
LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. - Zena Clark Coleman, 94, died Sunday at a Fort Payne nursing home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home chapel in Lawrenceburg.
Burial was in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Lee Coleman.
Survivors include one sister, Ruby Sneed of Gurley, and several nieces and nephews.
Lewis C. Cowley
Lewis Coleman Cowley, 61, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a Northport hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. John Rutland Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Hazel Hays of Huntsville; two sisters, Corrinne Cowley Bennett and Nancy Cowley Conner, both of Huntsville; and eight nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Paul H. Fisher Jr., 69, of Huntsville died Tuesday at his home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Fisher of Huntsville; his stepmother, Ruth Fisher of Enumclaw, Wash.; three daughters, Patricia Warren of Ozark, Jennifer Lawson of Fayetteville, Ark., and Barbara Durham of Green wood, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.

Roxie M. Gatlin, 86, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. W.O. McClain officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Ala.
Mrs. Gatlin was a native of Cullman County and retired as a Huntsville city schools lunchroom manager. She was also a member of Faith Christian Fellowship Church.
Survivors include one son, Joe R. Gatlin of Huntsville; one sister, Daisy Tillery of Huntsville; and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

ROGERSVILLE - Agatha Elease Goode, 89, died Tuesday at an Athens nursing home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Oliver Church of Christ.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home of Athens in charge.
Mrs. Goode was a native of Lauderdale County, a member of Oliver Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen F. Goode; one sister, Opal White; and two brothers, Egbert Bedingfield and Donald Bedingfield.
Survivors include four daughters, Mildred Horton of Rogersville, Martha Nell Cribbs of Ocala, Fla., Betty Hudson of Athens and Allene Snoddy of Decatur; two sons, Delma E. Goode and William Allen Goode, both of Rogersville; two sisters, Marie Watkins of Atlanta and Sarah Smith of Athens; two brothers, John David Bedingfield of Mobile and Howard Bedingfield of Rogersville; and 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Gladys Graham
FORT OGLETHORPE, Ga. - Gladys Graham, 78, of 37 Dahlia Lane died Monday at a Chattanooga hospital. The funeral was to be today at 3:30 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in New Brashiers Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Helen Blackwell of Mississippi; one son, Larry Graham of Fort Oglethorpe; two sisters, Irene Holaway of Arab and Flora Cagle of Union Grove; three brothers, Grady McWhorter of Dallas, Verbon McWhorter of Arab and Ralph McWhorter of Georgia; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

SCOTTSBORO - Russell ''Pete Grider, 77, died Sunday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Old Baptist Cemetery in Hollywood.
Survivors include one daughter, Reba Jean Campbell of Scottsboro; five sons, Dallas Wayne Grider of Section and Russell Lee Grider, Jess D. Grider, Lonnie Otis Grider and Edward Ray Grider, all of Scottsboro; four sisters, Ruth Gant of Geraldine, Velma Romans of Dutton, Samara George of Boaz and Nell Burns of Flat Rock; and nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Lula Hoar
OXFORD, Miss. - Lula Mae Zimmerman Hoar, 90, died Tuesday at an Oxford hospital. The funeral wil be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home chapel in Oxford with the Rev. Warren Black officiating.
Burial will be Oxford Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Hoar was a homemaker and a member of the United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Eldon Jesse Hoar.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Jere Hoar of Oxford and Dr. John E. Hoar of Huntsville; and six grandchildren.
Alberta Jackson
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Alberta Jackson, 88, of 307 North Elk Ave. died Tuesday at a Fayetteville nursing home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home chapel with Bros. Don Hudson and Carroll Hickman officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker and a member of Washington Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include one niece, Marie Wasson of Nashville.
Ila J. Jarvis
ALBERTVILLE - Ila Jay Jarvis, 76, of 302 Logan St., died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Jarvis was a retired school teacher.
Survivors include her husband, John H. Jarvis; one son, Mike Jarvis of Albertville; and four grandchildren.
Hilma S. Kent
Hilma Shotts Kent of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Kent was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former patron and matron in the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one sister, Marvaline Quillin of Decatur; one nephew, Dr. Don Shotts of Huntsville; one niece, Cindy Goggans of Huntsville; and three great-nephews and one great-great-niece.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

SECTION - Charlie Marsee, 22, died Saturday at a Scottsboro hospital. The funeral was Monday at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Durell Bryant officiating.
Burial was in New Canaan Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Marsee; one son, Dillon Marsee of Section; his father, C.B. ''Charlie Marsee of Section; his mother, Cindy Marsee of Fyffe; one sister, Arlene Marsee Patterson of Scottsboro; one brother, Brian Marsee of Ohio; two half-sisters, Annette Furline of Rosalie and Kimberly Marsee of Kentucky; and one half-brother, Shane Furline of Ohio.

NEW HOPE - Larry Joe Mashburn, 37, of 848 Mayo Road died Tuesday at his home. New Hope Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mary C. Mundi
Mary Costa Mundi, 93, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Mundi was formerly of Birmingham and was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony M. "Tony" Mundi.
Survivors include two daughters, Florence "Sam" DiPiazza of Birmingham and Rosemary Micastro of Huntsville; one sister, Myrtle LaRocca of Birmingham; and 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Louis Giardino will officiate a prayer vigil at 7 p.m.

Ruby Jean "Rabbit" Pinchon, 42, of 2406 Vining Ave. died Saturday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. O. Wendell Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three sons, Kwame D. Pinchon, Omyrus Pinchon and Todney M. Pinchon, all of Huntsville; her mother, Lorene Henderson of Huntsville; two sisters, Sara Jefferson and Lola Moore, both of Huntsville; two brothers, Otis Coleman and Thomas L. Coleman, both of Huntsville; and one grandchild.

GUNTERSVILLE - Lawrence Henry Riehle, 92, of 2400 Signal Point Road died Sunday at a Gadsden hospital. The funeral was Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial was in Memory Hill Cemetery in Albertville.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Riehle; three stepdaughters, Sadie Hayes and Marie Stephens, both of Albertville, and Zudie Lackey of Boaz; and two sisters.
William R. Smith
William R. Smith of 309 Indian Creek Road died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave McGlathery officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Smith of Huntsville; two daughters, Laura Hargett and Irene Smith, both of Huntsville; one son, William Smith of Huntsville; two brothers, James Smith of Buffalo, N.Y., and James Johnson of Huntsville; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Clyde J. Turner, 88, of Thornton Taylor Parkway died Tuesday. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Forrest Turner officiating.

Mr. Turner was a native of Boaz, Ala., a member of Fayetteville Holiness Church of God and a retired grocery store owner and farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Winsett Turner.
Survivors include two sons, Forrest Turner of Cary, N.C., and Cleatus Turner of Huntsville; four daughters, Edith Cobb of Hazel Green, Ala., Dean McMillan and Elaine Nerren, both of Taft, and Martha Bozeman of Birmingham; two sisters, Eltis Alloway of Huntsville and Lois Moore of Fayetteville; and 24 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Georgia Hannah Tyson, 84, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. Twickenham Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Audrey M. Wales
ELKMONT - Audrey Mae Wales, 88, of Ragsdale Creek Road died Monday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church with Bro. Brent Hawkins officiating.
Burial was to be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Ardmore, Ala., with Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Wales was a lifelong Limestone County resident.
Survivors include four sons, Billy Wales, Alton Wales and James Wales, all of Elkmont, and Raybon Wales of Prospect, Tenn.; three daughters, Rebecca Brewer of Veto, Magaline Smith of Elkmont and Betty Faye McCurry of Lester; and 28 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Her body was to be at the church one hour before the funeral.

NEW HOPE - Elton Erskin Webb, 84, of 523 Wesley Childers Road died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Paul Stone officiating. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Gilley Webb of New Hope; three sons, Joe Webb and Ray Webb, both of New Hope, and R.E. Webb of Boaz; three sisters, Laura "Tootsie" Gilley of Grant and Aline Motes and Susie Snow, both of New Hope; three brothers, Doffie Webb of Owens Cross Roads, Hester "Dot" Webb of Cullman and Rayburn Webb of Tennesee; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

BOAZ - Kenneth Marell White, 48, of 180 Trussell Circle died Monday at a local hospital. A graveside service was to be today at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Boaz.
Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include three sons, Brian White of Boaz and Chris White and Scott White, both of Fyffe; his parents, Marell and Inez White of Boaz; and one grandchild.
Robert L. Williams
Robert L. Williams, 68, of Huntsville died Sunday at his home. A graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Memory Gardens with Pastor O. Wendell Davis officiating.
Nelms Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Williams was an active member of many Prince Hall-affiliated Masonic organizations in Huntsville. He was a member of Morning Star Lodge No. 50-A Free and Accepted Masons, a companion with the Charles V. Hendley Chapter No. 73 of the Holy Royal Arch Masons, a sir knight with the Fearn-Townsend Commandery No. 8 Knights Templar, a grand inspector general 33rd-degree with Tennessee Valley Consistory No. 160 of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry Southern Jurisdiction and former potentate with Al Azhar Shrine Temple No. 195 of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order of Nobles of the Mystic of North and South America Inc. He was a 20-year Army veteran.
Survivors include one daughter, Doris Williams of Huntsvsille, and two grandchildren.
Alene V. Word
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. - Alene Violet Word, 86, died Tuesday. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Midwest City.
Burial will be in Arlington Memory Gardens with Paylor Funeral Home in Midwest City in charge.
Mrs. Word was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne T. Word.
Survivors include three sons, Buddy Word of Kingston, Okla., and Travis Word and Donnie Word, both of Midwest City; one daughter, Wathena McCumber of Huntsville; one sister, Lois Thompson of Oklahoma City; and 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and one niece.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
