Nannie M. Brazile
BROWNSBORO - Nannie Mae Brazile, 88, died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Brazile was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include two sons, James Brazile of Brownsboro and Jerry Brazile of Arab; one daughter, Martha Malone of Hazel Green ; four sisters, Thelma Campbell and Neoma Talley, both of Huntsville, and Alvonia Bennett and Octavia Ivey, both of Hazel Green ; and 12 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Virginia Bush
NEW HOPE - Virginia Bush, 89, of 2713 Cedar Point Road died Wednesday in Lynchburg, Tenn. New Hope Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Olene P. Garrett
LACEYS SPRING - Olene P. Garrett, 78, died Thursday at her home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Garrett was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Laceys Spring and was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Garrett.
Survivors include three daughters, Wilma McCutcheon of Valhermoso Springs, Jo Goodman of Huntsville and Linda Chandler of Laceys Spring; three sisters, Mary Graves of Dora, Leona Graves of Union Hill and Virginia Rozell of Huntsville; three brothers, Onie B. Pike of Ecorse, Mich., Donald Pike of Atlanta and Charles Pike of Laceys Spring; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Margaret G. Green
SOMERVILLE - Margaret G. Green, 51, died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was Wednesday at Whitesburg Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating.
Burial was in a cemetery in Troy with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Green was a Sunday School teacher at Whitesburg Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Carey Green of Somerville; two daughters, Andrea Griffith of Niles, Mich., and Robin Green of Somerville; one son, Trey Green of Tuscaloosa; two brothers, Marc Davis of Birmingham and Earl Davis of Atlanta; and two sisters, Carolyn Barron of Troy and Mary Ellen Williams of Enterprise.

Weldon C. Hicks
FYFFE - Weldon Hicks, 73, died Tuesday at a Scottsboro hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Revs. Carthele Owens and Jim Moore officiating.
Burial was to be in Friendship Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Shelby J. Hicks; two daughters, Jo Britton of Stevenson and Pat Roden of Pisgah; two stepdaughters, Shelia Daugette and Sherry Owens, both of Albertville; four stepsons, Paul Lands, Anthony Lands and Gene Lands, all of Sylvania, and Roger Lands of Boaz; one sister, Rosebud Rucks of Plant City, Fla.; and four stepdaughters.
Heather Holland
WOODVILLE - Heather Holland, 13, of 1180 Butler Mill Road died Tuesday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. at New Hope First Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Bishop officiating.
Grant Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Miss Holland enjoyed ice skating.
Survivors include her parents, Richard and Phyllis Holland of Woodville; one brother, Richard Trey Holland III; grandparents, Barbara Fleming of Woodville and Faye and Richard Holland Sr. of Adamsville.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Visitation will be today at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
James C. Hopkins
NEW MARKET - James Christopher Hopkins, 58, died Tuesday at his home. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Hopkins was a retired first sergeant with the U.S. Army and a Vietnam War veteran who was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He had lived in Madison County 18 years and worked at the Rehabilitation and Health Care Center of Huntsville.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn "Kate" Hopkins of New Market; one son, Cory Hopkins of New Market; and one daughter, Courtney Hopkins of Boston, Mass.
Memorial donations may be made to New Market Volunteer Fire Department.
Helene O. Kirtland
Helene Odem Kirtland, 84, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Dr. Larry Dill and the Revs. Ben Reilly and Lowell Zoeller officiating.
Entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Kirtland was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a native of Cullman County. She was a 1936 graduate of the University of Alabama and taught first grade for 48 years. She taught in Oak Ridge, Tenn., from 1944 until she retired.
Survivors include her husband, George M. Kirtland of Huntsville; one son, George Max Kirtland of Kauii, Hawaii; two sisters, Ellen Bridges of Huntsville and Ethelene Powell of Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.

George T. Lacy
HENAGAR - George Thomas Lacy, 94, died Wednesday at a South Pittsburg, Tenn., nursing home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Kerby Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Don Barnett and Kevin Wilkes officiating.
Burial will be in Henagar Cemetery.
Mr. Lacy was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Weaver Lacy; two sons, Weaver L. Lacy and Herbert Lyvonne Lacy; and one daughter, Vindie Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Clarence R. Lacy of Henagar and Brandston "Fred" Lacy of Contonment, Fla.; two daughters, Gazell Parker of Henagar and Juno Lee of Smyrna, Ga.; one brother, Dallas Lacy of Summerville, Ga.; two sisters, Lois Whitley and Beatrice Wilson, both of Summerville; and 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Clarence H. Manning
PISGAH - Clarence Howard Manning, 76, died Tuesday at his home. The funeral was today at 2 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home chapel in Henagar with the Rev. David Moore officiating.
Burial was in Fuller Cemetery in Ider.
Survivors include one son, Clarence Manning Jr. of Pisgah; one brother, Floyd Manning of Section; two sisters, Willie Whitehead of Scottsboro and Earleene Pace of Dutton; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Albert M. McCauley
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Albert M. McCauley, 80, of 913 Third Ave. died Wednesday at his home. The funeral will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Bros. Joe Tomlinson, Mike Johnson and James McCaleb officiating.
McCauley Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements.
Mr. McCauley was a native of St. Louis County, Mo., and had worked at McCauley Funeral Home, Standard Drug Store, Serbin Manufacturing Co. and Carters Drug Store. He was a member of Washington Street Church of Christ and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth E. McCauley of Fayetteville; two sons, David R. McCauley and Billy McCauley, both of Fayetteville; one daughter, Linda M. Westbrooks of Murfreesboro; and six grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Fayetteville/Lincoln County Public Library.
Thelma G. Mitchell
GUNTERSVILLE - Thelma Gladys Mitchell, 94, of 1209 Sunset Drive died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Burial was to be in Marshall Memorial Garden.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Milner of Arab; one son, Bobby Mitchell of Guntersville; one brother, L.C. Couch of Guntersville; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Willie V. Richardson
ATHENS - Willie V. Richardson, 83, of 18331 Trenton Ave. died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. David Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery.
Mrs. Richardson was a member of Cross Key Methodist Church and was preceded in death by one son, Bobby Richardson.
Survivors include one son, Charles Richardson of Athens; one stepdaughter, Margaret Rose of Sun City Center, Fla.; two stepsons, J.E. Richardson and W.D. Richardson, both of Athens; one brother, Ollie Clayton of San Antonio; and four grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Sharon A. Salters
Sharon Ann "Susie" Salters, 44, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be today at 7 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Larry Johnson officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Salters was a lifelong resident of Huntsville and a member of CAJA Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Comer Salters.
Survivors include one daughter, Mistee Treece of Paint Rock; one stepdaughter, Amie Glasgow of Belvidere, Tenn.; her parents, Joanne Hicks and Kenneth Hicks, both of Huntsville; two sisters, Janet Stewart and Judy Smithey, both of Huntsville; one brother, Tommy Smithey of Huntsville; and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Anthony K. Scepanski
Anthony Kyle Scepanski, 51, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a Cookville, Tenn., hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Taylor Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Carroll officiating.
Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery in New Market with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Scepanski was a native of Delaware and had lived in Huntsville 24 years. He was an insurance salesman.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Scepanski of Huntsville; two daughters, Rachel Cain and Stacey Speegle, both of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be Fiday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
Kathryn M. Turner
HAZEL GREEN - Kathryn M. Turner, 90, died Wednesday at a local nursing home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Henry P. Turner Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Sara McCain of Delmar, N.Y.; one sister, Madel Jones of Linden; one granddaughter, Patricia Merritt of Stone Mountain, Ga.; and two great-granddaughters and two nephews.

Carnell Watkins
CHICAGO - Carnell Watkins, 88, died Sunday at a Chicago nursing home. The funeral will be Friday at noon at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with Charles Cobb officiating.
Burial will be in Stevenson Community Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Mildred Lankford of Chicago; three sons, Ernest Watkins and John Watkins, both of Chicago, and Willie P. Watkins of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Laura Fold of Chicago and Elisaba Israel of Kewanee, Ill.; and three brothers, Connie Simpson of Chicago, Lee Simpson of Cincinnati and Ben Simpson of Stevenson. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
