MADISON - Jewel Allred Anderson, 74, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Dr. Walter Nunn officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Owens of Tullahoma, Tenn.; one son, Thomas W. Anderson Jr. of Huntsville; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ozell Bethune Jr.
IDER - Ozell Bethune Jr., 44, died Saturday. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fairview Church of God in Flat Rock with the Rev. Frankie Carroll officiating.
Burial will be in Paynes Gap Cemetery in Cartersville with Kerby Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Christie Bethune; one daughter, Tiffany Bethune of Ider; two sons, Robbie Bethune and Dillon Wood, both of Ider; two sisters, Jo Ann Ellis and Manila Mays, both of Ider; and three brothers, the Rev. O.A. Bethune of Flat Rock and Tony Bethune and Larry Bethune, both of Ider.
Raymond E. Brown
NEW MARKET - Raymond E. Brown, 77, of Narrow Lane died Sunday at a Fayetteville nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel in Hazel Green with the Rev. Donnie Amason and the Rev. Dalton Warden officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.
Mr. Brown was a native of Madison County and retired Madison County Courthouse superintendent. He was also a World War II Navy veteran and a deacon at Union Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Allene McGehee Brown of New Market; one daughter, Judy Jennings of New Market; one son, Kenneth R. Brown of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one brother, James Brown of New Market; and four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruby W. Bryan
BIRMINGHAM - Ruby Weaver Bryan of Birmingham died April 19 in Birmingham. The funeral was April 22 at Liberty Cemetery in Blount County.
Ridouts Chapel Funeral Home in Birmingham was in charge of burial.
She lived in Huntsville 30 years before moving to Birmingham in 1998 and was preceded in death by her husband, retired Sgt. Maj. Charlie Bryan.
Survivors include one brother, Bains Weaver of Boise, Idaho; and several nephews and nieces.
Memorial donations may be made to the Huntsville/Madison County Public Library, Huntsville Botanical Garden or a favorite charity.
Sudie C. Corum
ATHENS - Sudie C. Corum died Sunday. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
James Covington Sr.
James Walter Covington Sr., 75, of Huntsville died April 25 at a local hospital. A memorial service will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Huntsville Botanical Garden Pavilion.
Mr. Covington was a retired pharmacist who helped establish the Academy of Lifetime Learning at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He was a charter member of the Huntsville Botanical Garden and a graduate of Auburn University. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and served in World War II and the Korean War. He was also on the formation team of the Trinity Adult Center at Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Deane Riley Covington of Huntsville; one son, James Covington Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla.; one daughter, Connie Warren of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, five sisters and one granddaughter.
Joe V. Hilderbrand
ATTALLA - Joe Vann Hilderbrand, 63, of Hilderbrand Lane died Sunday at a Gadsden hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Happy Hill Baptist Church in Sardis with the Rev. Larry Mashburn officiating.
Burial will be in Happy Hill Cemetery with Morgan Funeral Chapel in charge.
Survivors include two brothers, Harold Hilderbrand of Attalla and Richard Hilderbrand of Dunn, N.C.; three sisters, Maxine Patterson of Eustis, Fla., Judy Bates of Madison and Mazene Anderson of Fayetteville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
His body will be at the funeral home one hour before the service.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ardell A. Horsley
Ardell A. Horsley of Huntsville died Sunday. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. David McMichael officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Horsley was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She worked in the principals office at Sparkman High School.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel P. Horsley of Huntsville; two daughters, Patsy Horsley of Huntsville and Brenda Johnson of Fort Payne; three sons, Samuel P. Horsley Jr. of Jonesboro, Ga., J. Michael Horsley of Montgomery and Steve A. Horsley of Welcome, N.C.; and eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Robert C. Justice
TRINITY - Robert Cecil Justice, 64, died Saturday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at East Lawrence Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Neal Culberson officiating.
Shelton Funeral Home in Decatur is in charge of burial.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Plant Justice of Trinity; three daughters, Cecilia Justice Chenault, Lynette Justice Bolton and Lea Justice Fuller, all of Trinity; two brothers, James Justice of Birmingham and Bill Justice of Nashville; one sister, Lois Leopard of Trussville; and five grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church building, bus or piano funds.
Dora L. Kennedy
ATHENS - Dora Lucille Kennedy, 87, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Copeland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Phillip Babcock officiating.
Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Kennedy was a member of Copeland Presbyterian Church and moved to Limestone County in 1919. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kennedy; and two sons, Glenn Kennedy and Kenneth Kennedy.
Survivors include three sons, Richard Kennedy of Elkmont, Don Kennedy of Toney and Hollis Kennedy of Athens; two daughters, Carolyn Lovell of Elkmont and Sarah Baugher of Athens; two sisters, Alberta Griffin and Frances Malone, both of Athens; and 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Foundation.
J.C. Norman
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - J.C. Norman, 75, died Saturday at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Sonny Moore officiating.
Mr. Norman was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Barker and Wanda Butler, both of Flintville, and Sandra Gail Monroe of Manchester, Tenn.; two sons, Kenneth Norman of Winchester, Tenn., and Donnie Norman of Harvest; one brother, L.W. Norman of Flintville; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kincie W. Prince
Kincie W. Prince, 94, of Huntsville died Saturday at his home. A graveside service was today at 10 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Bro. Lem Tipton officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Prince was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Prince Gillespie and Alice Prince Payne, both of Huntsville; one son, Lloyd V. Prince of Hazel Green ; and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Donations may be made to a favorite charity.
David H. Sharpe
NEW MARKET - David Hurley Sharpe, 85, of New Market died today at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Robby White and the Rev. Benny Berry officiating.
Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Sharpe was a native of Madison County, a farmer and a carpenter. He was also an Army veteran and a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Allene Berry Sharpe of New Market; two daughters, Judy Howland of Scottsboro and Linda Bonilla of New Market; two sons, Randy Sharpe and Billy Sharpe, both of New Market; one sister, Ivella Renfroe of Huntsville; one brother, Bruce Sharpe of New Market; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Patricia C. Stanford
ATHENS - Patricia Comer Stanford, 43, died Friday in Florence. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Jesse Littrell and Chuck Hood officiating.
Burial was to be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Mrs. Stanford was a member of Cherry Grove Baptist Church and worked at American Wholesale Book Co.
Survivors include her husband, Bobby Reed Stanford; her mother, Augusta Comer of Minor Hill, Tenn.; two daughters, Jada Chambers and Brandee Stanford, both of Athens; one son, Joey Reed Stanford of Athens; three sisters, Faye Travis of Pulaski, Tenn., Helen Yarian of Umatilla, Fla. and Cindy Young of Minor Hill,. Tenn.; four brothers, Kerri Comer, Bobby Comer, Bill Comer and Johnny Comer, all of Minor Hill; and one grandson.
William Sullivan
TONEY - William Sullivan, 69, died Saturday at a local hospital. A memorial service will be today at 7 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester McCutcheon officiating.
Mr. Sullivan was a native of Scotland and a resident of Madison County for the last 10 years. He was a retired rear admiral in the British Navy with 20 years of service.
He was owner and operator of Billys Pawn Shop, was a member of Moose Lodge 1001, Elks Lodge 1648 and the American Legion 237.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Sullivan; three daughters, Sherry Jackson of Huntsville, Maureen Harris of London, England, and Ruth Lee of Europe; two sons, Dennis Sullivan and Emmett Sullivan, both of Europe; one sister, Vera Sullivan of London; two brothers, Dennis Sullivan and Thomas Sullivan, both of Scotland; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Myrvle E. Wales
SCOTTSBORO - Myrvle Elizabeth Wales, 87, died Saturday at her home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Scottsboro with the Rev. Rick Stevens officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Scottsboro Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Wales was a 67-year member of the First Baptist Church where she was active in the Womens Missionary Union, the choir, childrens Sunday school and mission organizations. She worked at Jackson County Hospital as a nurse and a laboratory technician.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann Jones of West Point, Miss., and Jean Miller of Oxford, Ala.; three sisters, Lucille Williams of Chattanooga, Mauveline Wisener of Akron, Ohio, and Pauline Smith of Marine City, Mich.; one nephew, Wendell Jones of Scottsboro; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Wesley S. Wilson
BOAZ - Wesley Scott Wilson, 21, died Saturday at a local hospital. A memorial service was to be today at 4 p.m. at St. Paul Methodist Church in Boaz.
Carr Funeral Home of Boaz is in charge of burial arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, David and Mary Lynn Wilson of Boaz; one sister, Mary Page Wilson of Boaz; and grandmother, Eugenia Wilson.
Betty J. Wise
SAINT SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. - Betty Jane Wise, 68, died Friday at a Georgia hospital. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Louis Giardino officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Miss Wise was a native of Huntsville.
Survivors include two sisters, Alyce Anderson of Fircrest, Wash., and Ann Francis of Huntsville; one niece, Alicia Anderson of Columbus, Ga.; and four nephews, Dr. Dana Anderson of Tacoma, Wash., Alan Anderson of Fircrest and Tony Craig and Cary Craig, both of Huntsville.
Katherine L. Woodard
PEGRAM, Tenn. - Katherine L. Woodard and her unborn son, Jackson Hayes Woodard, died April 9. The funeral was April 12 at Harpeth Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Mack L. Hannah officiating.
Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Woodard was a native of Fayetteville, Tenn., and attended Belmont University. She was a Sunday school teacher and a secretary at her church.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Woodard of Pegram; one daughter, Katelyn Marie Woodard of Pegram; her parents, Eddie and Katie Hayes of Fayetteville, Tenn.; paternal grandmother, Roberta Hayes of Fayetteville; and two aunts and one uncle.
Charles T. Wooldridge
Charles Thomas Wooldridge, 52, of Huntsville died Sunday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Nixons Chapel in Horton.
Mr. Wooldridge was a native of Baltimore, Md., and had lived in Madison County 23 years.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy H. Wooldridge of Huntsville; two sons, Charles Stacey Wooldridge of Huntsville and Tommy Wooldridge of Edgewood; one daughter, Rhonda Mack of Perry Hall, Md.; one stepson, D.J. Holder of Florence; one stepdaughter, Helen Molder Burgess of Huntsville; one brother, Ronnie Wooldridge of Delaware; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation was today from 5 to 9 a.m. at the funeral home.
